Great location, good hotel
The check in and service was easy and friendly. The room was tiny, but sufficient for the 2 of us. Basic cable channels. Heat/AC unit was a bit noisy, but worked well. The bathroom was clean in appearance. The nightstand had a clear plastic card (?) on it, which tells me it wasn't wiped down. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not great. Very flat. The location is excellent and the price is good. An above average hotel experience.

Nice affordable boutique hotel in downtown Chicago. In walking distance from great shopping, convenience stores, and late night food (Subway, 7-11, or McDonald’s). Would stay here again!

Improve service in ACME
You should provide free coffee/ tea in the room like so many hotels including those that are even cheaper than ACME does. It's winter months, very cold and it is good to have some hot water provision for making tea/ coffee.

Everything about this stay was perfect!! Check in was flawless,the room was comfy and clean! It was in a great area with multiple options for food and shopping,within walking distance. They have a restaurant,bar and bakery in the hotel. my only complaint was how proud they were of their doughnuts lol. They were very overpriced and old. Other than that I will not hesitate to book this hotel again. Very pleased with this booking.

Acme Hotel is a gem in Chicago’s River North
From the time we checked in to the time we checked out everyone at the Acne was super friendly and accommodating. Centrally located in Chicago’s River North, close to public transportation, bars, and restaurants, it’s a great find. And the bar on premises, The Berkshire Room, is the perfect way to cap off the evening. Would definitely stay there again.

The staff was exceptional from the moment we walked through the doors! Fun laid back atmosphere. Room was cool and cute but we’ll definitely get a suite next time. Great location and close to everything… convenience stores, shopping, restaurants. Walkable area. Restaurant bar is on premise as well as a coffee shop.

The overall stay was nice. I liked the Bluetooth speaker in the room. The bed was so comfortable. The only downfall to my stay was, the towels in the bathroom did not appear clean to me. The towels had stains on them.

This was a great hotel with a very cool vibe. Hotel staff and bartenders at the Berkshire (hotel bar) were friendly and fun. The decor was unique and different from anywhere we’ve stayed before. We were on the 12th floor and never heard a sound except for sirens outside, which we would expect in downtown Chicago. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay in such an affordable hotel!! Highly recommend The Acme Hotel!!

It was just a perfect stay! I love the old feel of the hotel yet it’s completely updated at the same time. The only complaint would be the cost of parking and that’s not the hotels fault.

Not great for a holiday getaway with our teen
Pros- hotel is in a good location between state street and mag mile spots and very close to the redline. Also great food options nearby. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly.
Cons-the hotel is very dark-the entrance, reception, elevators and rooms. Windows in standard double looked on dark interior atrium. There is no lobby to sit in (this is something we enjoy), only a bar which was very full both nights. Because there is no lobby or entrance area, the folks smoking on the sidewalk send smoke straight into the hotel and they were always present when we left or returned. No coffee in room-a basic tiny pot would have been nice as we got ready to leave for the day. The fitness center is an old dark room in the basement. We didn’t sleep well as the toilet ran loudly though the night and the service door located outside of our room slammed every time someone walked through.

The best secret hotel in Chicago!
If you're heading to Chicago for an overnight or a few days, the Acme is the perfect hotel. It's very reasonable cost wise, and it's location is superb! 1/2 block fro the subway. Parking garage right next door. All the amenities are all only a couple blocks away. A mall, Michigan ave, movie theater, and a bunch of great restaurants! This is our third stay and I'll stay there every time.

Hotel was super cute and was a great location for our needs! Parking very convenient right next door. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars was the bed. One side of the bed seemed to have broken springs…definitely not a dealbreaker though! Would definitely stay here again!

I have taken many trips to Chicago, and stayed at many different hotels. The Acme is by far one of my favorites! There is no reason for me not to stay there every time i go to Chicago! The staff was incredibly friendly and inviting. One of the many highlights on our trip!!!

This pkace is a gem. The location coukdnt be better. Very comfortable beds. It is in the middke of downtown in a renovated hotel, so thecroom isnt huge, but it is very nice and has everything you need. The staff is friendly and engaging. Didnt get a chance ti check out the var, but it looked inviting and fun.

I really liked the atmosphere and the area around ACME. The cafe was nice, but i skipped the bar for others. Some of the staff were not the friendliest. The place was overall clean, but my room needed swept. Overall, still good for the value and location alone.

We love this hotel for its convenience and unique vibe. However, we had issues with the heat in our room, which blew freezing cold air on the bed every time it kicked on. Additionally, while most hotels put a temporary hold on our credit card for a security deposit, this one charged our card $100 and we were told it would take 7-10 days for it to fall off. It doesn’t say anywhere in the reservation info that this is a policy.

Absolutely loved our stay!! This was my 2nd stay with Acme in 30 days bc we enjoyed it so much the first time. This stay was for a girls weekend with birthday celebrations and everyone loved the space! One of our rooms was upgraded and I cannot thank yall enough! It allowed for a better “gathering” space for the group since we were in two rooms which gave us opportunity to enjoy drinks and snacks before going out together instead of down the hall. Michael at the front desk during check out was great and I wish I would have asked the man’s name that delivered our McDs order up to the room for us at 3:30am. It’s the little things and we really appreciated every bit of it. Nothing but great things to say about the room, the location and all the staff we interacted with. Also having the parking garage right there and with a credit made it very affordable for our group. Looking forward to many more stays in the future, this is our new go to for Chicago overnights!

Great location and the most friendly & helpful staff. Room was a good size and the beds & bedding were comfy. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location was really good. It was 1/2 block from the subway and 1/2 block from lots of restaurants, a grocery store, casino and CVS.

the table was not cleaned and the shampoo and rinse were opened- the beds were clean and made up though. great location- the discount on parking is great- sad they no longer offer coffee to be brought to the rooms. that was really wonderful.

Came to Chicago for my partner’s birthday and we Stayed at ACME. The room was clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and the location was ideal. We were at arm’s length of the Subway and walking distance from many shops and restaurants. I’d stay here again and recommend It to anyone that wants to stay downtown.

What an awesome place! Funky modern vibe. Close to a range of dining and shopping options, even a drug store next door for the forgotten razor or face cream. Very walkable to get to the sights and right around the corner from transit. Onsite laundry is a bonus. The only small improvements I'd suggest is a makeup mirror in the bathroom, and although there were some free weights in the gym, a weight machine would be great. Highly recommended!

Love the Acme Hotel
We were three senior women on a repeat visit. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. Everyone at the desk are always helpful with information or getting a cab. The rooms are clean and they have the most adorable bathroom nightlight! We felt safe staying there.

I loved my stay at ACME. The check in process was seamless and quick. My hotel room was clean and just what I needed for my stay. Everything I needed was in walking distance. Coffee, sushi, music, groceries, retail therapy, you name it. I was able to find whatever I needed without walking too far. I loved the bar in their building. Music was great, too, and not too loud. I can't wait to stay here, again!

Great stay at the Acme
Older hotel completely remodeled, aiming at a younger crowd, but we senior citizens were not put off. Great location near Miracle Mile, many restaurants and attractions. Block and a half to the subway, half a block to major grocery store, and drug store virtually next door. If you’re driving, go to one of the parking apps like Spot Hero to find MUCH cheaper parking than the normal listed rates. Many parking options within a block.

Cool spot but no frills for price
The hotel was in a brilliant location but I found it pretty no frills for the price we paid. It was called a suite but the lounge area had a very basic uncomfortable sofa. While the bedroom itself was quieter as it was facing the internal side of the hotel there was a noisy generator or something outside. There was no area for breakfast (only a small cafe next to it on the ground floor) and the bar by the hotel is unaffiliated.

Not safe at all. There is a pub at the ground floor of the hotel, so anybody can enter and use the elevator, pretending going to a room not being necessarelly at the hotel.

Pros: location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, cool vibe
Cons: No coffee in the room or lobby, had to pay for it at their coffee shop (tried to leave the shop through the exit onto the street, but it was locked. Had a lit "exit" sign. ACME needs to check the local fire codes), no secure wifi
We liked this hotel, would possibly consider staying again, but with the above mentioned issues, 5 stars became 3

Great stay
Parking was slightly confusing when we got there but the staff was great at explaing things for us. Room was nice, clean and inviting. We had a decent view of the city. Bed was conveniently placed towards the back of the room, the city sounds didnt disturb sleep at all. Within walking distance of quite a bit!

The room while a bit small was comfortable for a single business traveler. The room was exceptionally clean which is a priority of mine. The location is close to public transit and the area is safe with many attractions nearby. The staff was kind and always offering to help. The room rate was a good value compared to other hotels nearby.

Very cool hotel - highly recommended
Absolutely loved this hotel!! All the details were so cool! The vinyl album covers in the elevator, the room decorations, the glowing giant red lips in the bathroom, the shower was amazing, comfy beds, trapeze art out the window! Will definitely stay here when back in Chicago - the location was perfect!

Loved the vibe energy. I would say Acme needs to ensure they are not seen as a ACE hotel (community/hostel). It was a tad opaque coming into the situation (even though on paper it was clear).
