The room smelled like cigarettes and it was a non smoking room the toilet leaked when flush, the toilet paper holder was broken and appeared housekeeping did do a good job in cleaning or sanitizing.

Refund ???
I paid for my room on-line. I was told when I called in that I could check in at 7am , we arrived at 7:30am and manager , rudely said, she never talked to me abd that we'd have to wait until 3:00pm. Nice couple said we could wait in their room and so we went to room and waited he left to take his girlfriend to work. Housekeeping came by and kicked us out for trespassing. Manager didn't let us explain. She DNR my reservation. Said to contact you guys for my refund

DONT EVER STAY HERE
The rooms stunk of cigarette smoke and cat urine. No blankets or pillows only one towel for two people. The door really didn't lock. When you get checked in they want a 100 for a deposit. Stay away from this place.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Horrible experience. There was roaches in the bathroom. The room was dirty and smelled like smoke. We got locked out of our room from 3am-7am. The key did not work and the front desk was closed. There is no after hour number. The “emergency phone” did not work. We had to wait outside in the cold for 4 hours because our belongings were in the room.

The lady at the front desk at night is an angel. The rooms are trash. Lights w/ exposed wires hanging, holes in the walls, cold showers in December also. I let the hot water run for over 45 minutes & still never got hot. I ended up heating up water in the microwave & putting it in the sink so I could bird bath. Prostitutes crawling at night. I will NEVER rent there again. I'll sleep in my car first

Room For Improvement
This is an excellent location. Staff was very nice. There was NO hot water for my entire 3 day stay. Management WAS notified, but the issue was apparently beyond their control. If they fix this issue, I will return, and reverse my review.

I made choice of this place due to price and it looked clean online. I was told room was smoke free.
Upon arrival, my first room smelled like a bar room. Total smell of smoke, the paint job was horrible, the furniture looked as though it was 3 years old. Not impressed at all. I asked for a different room. Room number 2, oh it gets better, not. Room number two had no working hot water for the shower. I reported it and said I do not want to switch again, it was just rediculous. So I basically took sink sponge baths my remaining days. I could not believe that I had to go to office and turn in dirty towels and ask for more. There were trash bags in the hallways of which people left. You also had to take care of own trash into a dumpster. The place should be condemned. And there also were so bugs crawling around the rooms that I noticed.
It was a horrible experience.

Upon entering their parking lot, men in “wife beater” T-shirts were standing around. As I left the parking lot, I had to wait for a woman dressed like a hooker to walk past, and then had to hesitate to turn left as a police car was driving into the motel.

Got to properly 10 mins b4 closing and they were already closed couldn’t check k. Paid for a. Room we couldn’t stay at no one there off closed and would even let us get money back after traveling 9 hours will never book with property or Expedia again!!!!

Parking lot was dirty in unsafe conditions. People getting high, probation officers looking for people , and woke up to a vandalized car. Room was not clean and very outdated. We only had one towel for two occupants. No trash can. Bed was horrible, springs were broken and there were holes in the bed. This motel needs improvement in safety and cleanliness.

Like- location is excellent and easy to find. The exterior looks great at first glance. Did not like- not greeted upon arrival. Staff carried on conversation as if I were not there. Front office was horrible as the check in area was very small. Staff was not friendly. My reservation was not easily found. I was told to initial and sign a two page form but not advised where to initial until I handed the form back and asked where I needed to sign.

Property is very run down! Roach infested! Stains all over beds and blankets refrigerators were very disgusting. There was tools left inside room from maintenance. Fire alarm were going off while during our stay. There were tons of exposed wires. Neighborhood is very ghetto and unsafe. People living in the hotel we’re not clean. Felt unsafe during stay do not recommend if I could get a full refund for the hotel I would.

Sketchy hotel
I did not even stay the night. I booked a room after a tournament but after seeing the room I took a shower and left. Felt so sketchy. Door had obviously been kicked in before, was barley holding up, walls all banged up and even the bathroom doors lock look like someone kicked it in at one point. People outside were looking in cars when left alone. I felt so un safe but I didn’t want to cause an issue so I just left. Woman at the front was very kind she was the only good thing about this place

Check in is at 3, waited in line for nearly 30 minutes to check in, then once I check in a pay a deposit I’m told I have to wait for a room. Waited another 30-40 minutes for a room. The room smells like mildew, I immediately found dead and living cockroaches throughout everything. There was no towels, just 2 small wash clothes. The door to the room itself wouldn’t always open. The staff was very minimal.
The cost was okay, very inexpensive. It did have a good tv so that was a plus. Wouldn’t stay there again and I don’t recommend it.

Many roaches bugs nothing worked except the loud noisy ac unit very dirty door would not lock properly bed was flat no spring to it. No towels soap sheets were bloody worst place I have ever stayed. Staff was mean short tempered and unfriendly. Lots of cigarette smoke and marijuana smoke all the time.

Whole new meaning
I booked this for my husband that is a truck driver and he was getting his truck worked on. Well he got to the place and the first thing he noticed was that you have to pay 100.00 deposit. Ok well at is point I told him pay it because I had already booked the room and it was non refundable and I really didn't want to waste the money that we had put down on this room. So he gets his room key and drives around to where his room is. He walks in the hallway and they are graffiti and tags on the walls and looks like this is a hotel for the homeless rather than people traveling or truckers with broke down trucks just trying to get sleep in a cool,clean and comfortable bed. He finally gets to his room and the first thing he sees in a roach on the bed. He immediately turns around walks out and returns to the front desk. Where he tells them and shows the girl a picture of what she just saw in the bed. She return is deposit immediately and tells him I'm so sorry. Needless to say this gives a whole new meaning to roach motel. And we will never be back here again.

We pulled up for a late check-in at around 2am. I had booked the motel based on location then price. There were less expensive options, but we wanted something in the middle. The motel website stated the rooms were clean and well maintained. The check-in process was fairly easy. The elevator was not working, so we took the stairs. Once we opened the door to the room, there were noticable insects on the door and on the wall. We tried to ignore it. I went into the restroom and the roaches just scattered. They were in and around the toilet, on the floor, and on the curtains and in the shower. They were on the sink. It was absolutely disgusting. We immediately turned to leave and were met with the employee that had helped us check in. She had forgotten to return my driver's license so she was bringing it up to me. We told her about the roaches and how we refuse to stay in a dirty, infested room. She apologized and said we could get a refund. She walked down with us and told me to call the motel for a refund in the morning. I emailed the motel through Expedia and got an instant and generic response stating, "the employee immediately went up to the room and did not see anything." I was dissatisfied so I emailed the property manager and in another generic, copy and paste reply, they stated they would not refund the amount i had paid. Do not stay here! It is dirty, disgusting, and infested with roaches.

This place was disgusting.. the laundry mat messed up my clothes and had to throw them away. There’s ROACHES. And hair was in the shower when I arrived, the sink wasn’t cleaned. And the blanket was dirty. This is a 0/10…

The worst place I’ve ever experienced
Hotel receptionist was giving attitude towards everyone. Got our room key and that’s how we found the bed along with used towels and a window that looked like it had been broken into. 100% do not recommend, spend those extra 10$ and get a nice/safe place. We didn’t stay and were unable to get our money back.

There was nothing to like about the property or the room. Nothing was as advertised. NOTHING! The metal threshold of the entry door fell into the room when we unlocked the door = tripping hazard.
As you looked into the room as you entered the doorway you could see black mold growing on a wall beneath a countertop that held a sink and a two burner bookplate.
I checked to see that the groundfloor window had latches or locks for security in a tough neighborhood. Top latch was open and wouldn't close without considerable force (I am 6'3" tall and a fit 195#. Lower latch could be swung up into position, but then fell back down, leaving the window unsecured.
It was supposed to be equipped as a "kitchenette." It had no pans, no dishes, no utensils, no, silverware, no dishtowels, dishcloths, no cleaning products. All cupboards and drawers were empty.
Nothing from floor to ceiling was clean. There were people living in this place. I felt bad for them.
Television would not turn on. Bed was a mattresson a metal frame with sharp corners. Some lights worked; some lights did not.
On seeing all of this, we immediately returned to the front office to cancel our 4 night stay. We had not unpacked and not used anything in the place. They refused to give us a full refund, saying we had to pay for the first night.
We have been trying through our credit card company to recover that initial night's stay.
I reported all of this to Expedia, but so far Expedia has done nothing

Don’t stay here
This place is disgusting and honestly not even worth being on this website. As soon as you check in, it’s a horrible experience. My room was dirty, it has cockroaches, the toilet was broken, and the cabinets were broken as well. The door handle doesn’t even have a lock but rather a hinge, so good luck trying to feel safe at all. Trying to check out was the worst thing ever because they did not even issue you a full refund for rather charge you for every little thing because from the moment you check in that’s considered a full day stay day

DON'T STAY HERE!!
I got the key from the front desk and they didn't work. Some random guy let my daughters in the room..... The door would not shut, so there was no locking it. The room smelled like a murder had been cleaned up just hours ago, the sink was falling off the wall. Needless to say, we did NOT stay at this hotel. It was quite gross.

Red Roof Phoenix-West is a poor choice.
When we got there in the office, there was already a customer who had a complaint of cockroaches in their room. When it was my turn to check-in the room was not available and our reservation was cancelled. There is no Manager on-site to handle issues which I think is not very good hotel practice. Long line with only one representative to help. Alot of customers who were checking in at the time I was there were having issues as well. The place is more for people who live in the city to stay for long-term housing. The rep. did her best to help me with a receipt of my cancellation but I felt bad that she had to deal with all the other customers and their issues as some were very upset. I do not recommend this place if you do not live in the Phoenix area. I would definitely NOT try to stay here ever again.

This property is filthy, they attempted to give me 2 rooms that hadn't been cleaned. The room they attempted to give me was next to a rubbish dumpster that smelled terrible. I had to leave this property and find another hotel room. This property was littered with cigarette butts and rubbish. They don't clean the grounds. I requested a refund and found another hotel room elsewhere.

Deplorable! If street walkers, druggies, rats and roaches are your thing then this is the place for you. I dont know how this place is still open. Rooms are dank and grungy. People roaming the property all night. The halls were riddled with trash. I opted to sleep in my car at a hospital parking lot vs this place.

This is an older property, and for the price we did not have high expectations. While the walls of the room were in good shape, the floor was beat up and the refrigerator was running constantly and making a lot of noise.
Unfortunately, we unplugged the refrigerator to stop the noise. The next evening, we had water on the floor and loads of cockroaches. The smell in the room that had been in the room was stronger. The refrigerator is old and should have been replaced years ago. Curiously, the microwave was new, less than 1 year old.
Meanwhile, the property is dirty. Trash is allowed to accumulate in the hall ways. The dumpster was overflowing for an entire week. Cigarette butts are throughout the grounds.
The strikes have been been removed from most of the door frames in the place, making it difficult to close the door. Therefore, the place was noisy with people understandably slamming the doors to get them to close.
We don't normally provide reviews but had to on this experience.
We rented this place because it said it was by Red Roof Inn. Turns out the this place is run by a franchisee.
When we reported the issue on the water from the refrigerator and the roaches, the clerk said "Yeah, that happens."

The front desk area carpet stained and dirty right off the bat! Another employee was in a room very close to the front desk and was cussing with another employee!! The room was lingering with cigarette smoke smell badly even thought a non smoking room!! Bed was very soft and used big time. Furniture had rips in the seats. A few renters upstairs were in their doorway smoking crack pipes!!!!! I was with my 14 year old daughter and we went to aconcert and refused to go back to the motel and ended up driving back home at 11:30pm after the concert, got home 2 am! PS, couldn't change rooms, they were fully booked if you could beleive that! I wasted $97.00. Hotels. Com should take them off there list!!!

Crackville and rude
Got there to find out they cancelled without notifying me. It was crackville and dirty. The staff was beyond rude and cussing as soon as we entered the office. Not one but three of them. One lady was clocking out and going on about how this job isn’t important and she’s leaving who cares. Cool np but maybe not in front of the customers. Rude about everything. In a way it was good to of not gotten a room there as it was so trashy there. I would rather of drive home after the event or slot on the side of the road.

The elevator did not work and the room was on the third floor. Management was not in hotel office during office hours. There was trash in the stair well. We were not able to check in the room because the room card reader did not work. No other rooms available so had to go to another hotel but were charged for a night's stay anyway. Stay at this hotel at your own risk!

Not well kept in any way poor quality of rooms, Burt blanket ac doesn’t heater doesn’t work.roaches ,door doesn’t close all the way you can stick a knife to unlock as well as see daylight clearly easy accesss for insets to crawl through. Elevator did not work they put me on the third floor as I had luggage. Outside ground is nasty with homeless people walking everywhere. I did not feel safe when I left my room with my belongings in it at all .

Never cleaned out room, some tried breaking into my room during my stay at night, there were tons of roaches in every room of that hotel and there were always people outside my door yelling, playing music, talking or doing drugs. I would never recommend this place. I left in the middle of my stay to another hotel with no refund and no help from hotels.com

Horrible place to stay at with family. Had to wait an additional 30 mins after check in since they didnt have any two beds room available yet ( we were there at checkin in time which was 3) Elevator was broken so we had to climb up to the 3rd floor with two kids so that was fun. Random yelling around 1am and Cockroach decided to appear out of no where . Had to kill 5 Cockroach in our room, it was just honestly a horrible experience that me and my family left at 3am because we just couldnt sleep in there any longer ... NEVER GO HERE UNLESS YOUR DESPERATE

We tried to check in at 3pm. 1 out of 2 rooms we’re ready. We walk to the room and someone else answered the door. We were told that 2 rooms would be ready soon. We ate dinner came back and I was told that I had only paid for 1 room for our 4 night stay. I should them my receipt from you and that it was paid in full. When we get our rooms, it was horrible. Roaches. Stoves didn’t work,1 of the bathroom toilet didn’t work. Never had maid service. I took out our own garbage and asked for new towels. They hardly have any employees to keep up with daily work. It has a great location is my positive thing.

A nightmare!!!
I would not recommend this place to anyone! It was dirty, and run down. The front drawer of the dresser was busted off, and sitting on top of it. The kitchenette was filthy. The refrigerator was nasty. I didnt feel comfortable cooking, because of how disgusting it was. That and the roaches. That was the reason we choose this place, to save money on food. The mattress was so worn, when sleeping, you would roll toward the edge. Dont even want to get started on the bathroom! Asked to be relocated, to a different room, but was told all sold out. Yes it was race weekend, thats why we were there, so relocating to a different motel was not an option. Arriving at approx 6 pm, pillow cases were missing on the pillows. When asked for some, it felt as though it was an imposition. We had to wait til they got out of the dryer. Now for the parking lot! When it got dark, you had better be in your room, with the door bolted! The riff raff, were in every corner hanging out!! Very uncomfortable through out our whole stay!! No security present. It has been 5 days since our checkout, and we still have not been credited for our deposit. Thank goodness I took pictures!
