Clean and Sleek Hotel with a Smile
The cleanliness of the hotel is top notch. Every staff member SMILES and is pleasant and helpful. Our favorite is Cadia at the front desk. She was able to change our room to a quieter room, provide us guidance on parking and directed us to a cute diner walking distance to the hotel if we were out late. It has been a good stay and we would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area. The hotel is a couple of blocks to the Metro so getting in and out of DC is a piece of cake!

Would stay here again!
We really loved this hotel! It was in a great location in Old Town and easy for our Uber drivers to find us. The staff was fantastic and friendly. The restaurant and bar were very nice as well. The rooms were modern and clean, if a bit small. Our king sized bed filled most of the room, but that was not a big deal. We would definitely stay there again. It had a very modern, hip vibe. Excellent!

Perfect location
The location is perfect. It’s on King St. where all the bars, shops and restaurants are located. The room is clean/comfortable and pet friendly! I had a nice stay!

We liked that the property is cozy and that the rooms make excellent use of space. The property is not so large as to be overwhelming. The in-house restaurant was very good, and overall the staff was courteous and professional. What we didn't like were the options for parking. But this would not keep us from staying at this property again

Great hotel in a beautiful city!
Great hotel in the heart of Alexandria! In a safe and vibrant area. Newish hotel, small but comfortable room, bed and linens. Nicely decorated. Clean bathrooms. The only thing we didn’t love was the “fake” fragrant air freshener in the main lobby. This practice is popping up in many hotels now, and frankly we are not fans. But once you exit the lobby to your room, the rooms smell fine.

One night stay was almost $300. The 2-bed room was extremely small; the rolling cart could not make it pass the door! No service with our bags! Very limited parking! No refrigerator in the room! My adult daughter sat in the lobby, waiting for a family member to come down. The woman at the desk looked them both, up and down, and asked if she could call my room. Gave the feeling that “they” were not welcome! It’s 2023, most people have already made a connection via their phone! “Perhaps my daughter was sitting there resting, waiting for someone else for a meal in the restaurant, or simply waiting until I had come down from the room. I spoke to the woman regarding the reception that my daughter received. She did not take responsibility for her actions. She stated that my daughter had “left out” statements regarding their conversation. My daughter did not leave out anything. So, obviously, the woman “knew” that the conversation was Offensive! The woman stated that she would “take off the $40-valet cost@. She did do that. She stated that she did not mean to “offend your daughter “. All said to say that we “will not” stay there again! Non-smoking room with other residents around us who chose to smoke anyway! Too expensive to have these issues!

Not recommended at all. Place is not clean front desk staff are rude, they aren't trained well enough for this job or hospitality business. Imagine asking for a clean blanket and they tell you we don’t have another blanket at the moment…5 hours later almost at midnight showing up with 2 twin blankets.(Hyatt hotels are known for quality and great customer service. This hotel is the worst Hyatt hotel in the world). Not recommended at all. To make the matter worse lobby smells like a very cheep perfume trying to cover another bad smell.

Great location-horrible parking situation
When we cked in, front desk who helped us became a little annoyed when I told her I had a dog and went looking for a 5 PAGE disclaimer about, barking, aggressive dogs etc as well as can’t leave her in the room when I’m not there. That’s a little much for a supposed ‘pet friendly’ hotel.
Room lovely but for 2 people, we couldn’t even get around each other. Too small for amount of furniture & 2 beds. Parking in area bad, I used to live here so I know. But valet was $40/night. Front desk insisted I move my car when all we needed were 2 mins to run luggage up cuz we had appt and had to leave. Had to move car a long block away & come back to pick up friends who had to drag my luggage to room for me. Shower handle loose.

Not Good For Business Trip
Probably not a good place to stay on business.
Staff was unhelpfull. I had video conferencing calls I needed to make after a full day of calls. Room was not ready, and they did not have a conference room or any other room I could work out of. Very loud in common area, so i had to make calls from a another location. Staff was very unhelpfull and couldn't be bothered to try and provide me with a partial solution.

My wife recently read an article about Alexandria which mentioned the shops and restaurants on King St. We decided to visit and my wife insisted on staying near King St. We found the Hyatt and stayed there a month ago. When we were able to get very affordable Amtrak tickets we decided to visit again in Sept and since we enjoyed our stay last time we decided to rebook.

Not so peaceful.
This was a business trip. I left DC area & decided to stay here as its always quiet & peaceful. As soon as I walked into lobby area, it was loud as there was a huge crowd in restaurant area. Even staff commented on it. Checked in as k couldn't get a refund, dropped bags off in room & decided to come back down before restaurant closed.it was still loud. Even watch sent me a notice that environment was too loud.

For over $200 per night, the room didn't have a mini fridge and there is no ice machines in the building. They literally give you a little bag of ice upon check in lol. Also - it's a "pet friendly" hotel - so prepare for barking dogs. I checked in after 5 hour drive, and the room across the hall had a large dog barking uncontrollably for hours. I complained and they said there was nothing they could do. I wish I had done more searching before booking this hotel.

Overall great experience! Some things we noticed were stains on towels, shower door wouldn’t close completely so water leaked onto floor, and no one was at front desk when we arrived. All in all, was a great stay, great location, and helpful staff!

Very nice stay. Quiet room, good restaurant, friendly service. I would stay again if the price were right. Convenient, walkable to metro and Amtrak. Room decor functional and sensible, but I found the carpet design a bit garish and hard on the eyes. Same in the corridors. The plug in the sink never closed properly so couldn’t fill it up to wash face and shave. Nice shower, but handle was very stiff — it seemed that it had to be closed very tightly in order to shut water off completely. Much appreciated to have two complimentary bottles of distilled water. Elevators good and fairly easy to use. This hotel is between a four and a five, closer to a five, which is what I would have given it had some of these minor issues been attended to.

We had a wonderful stay this past weekend. The staff was amazing to us. There isn’t an ice maker but the front desk will give you a bag of ice for your room. The rooms are a little smaller but it’s a city hotel so I wasn’t surprised. I don’t think more than two people could fit comfortably. I was most impressed with the clock in the bathroom mirror.

Our stay was great! Very nice breakfast areas around the hotel for you to try especially (The Baguette). The room is spacious and trendy, very clean, and the staff was very courteous and professional.
If you have a chance try the restaurant for dinner and you will not regret it.

Front desk only had one attendant, who I also think is valet as well. So there was a bit of a wait. I paid for a high floor but was given a 3rd floor room, I advised I paid extra for the higher floor and was given a room on the 5th floor. The hotel common areas are really neat and the our room seemed nice enough, intially, but once entering the bathroom we found blonde hair (I have black hair) also the bedding and other surfaces felt moist. We were moved to a 6th floor room, which was loud considering it faces the street and it is an adjoing room. However, I didn't request to move again because we wanted to rest given we're only here because the storm knocked out our power.

I have been excited to try this hotel, which is only a few years old, for awhile now but was highly disappointed in the condition of the hotel. The lobby lounge chairs were detained and soiled, the first room I was given had a huge brown stain in the carpet. The comforter on the bed was ripped. No ice machines on each floor. Super overly priced and burnt food from the on-site restaurant. I was super disappointed with my stay 🙁

While nice to look at with the modern aesthetic, some basic things were missing or not working. The refrigerator in the room didn’t work. No ice machine on my floor. Had to get ice from the front desk in little baggies. The point of sale system had to be restarted 3 times so I could finally pay my bill and leave. For what they charge to stay and park, they could reinvest that money back intthe hotel.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon, a bit earlier than check in, and ended up getting to check in early thanks to availability and Angela from the front desk being a gem and giving us the most comfortable and cozy room with a cute little view of King Street. She asked us what we were in town for and we told her it was our anniversary weekend celebration and our first weekend without a child in over 2 years. She found out that we were dining at the Chart House that evening and made it even more special for us as she also works there on the weekends. Our entire stay through Sunday was incredible. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was so kind and friendly and more than willing to give suggestions on where to shop, dine, and sightsee. The bed in our room engulfed us, it was so soft and comfortable. Everything was crisp, modern and clean. We ended up getting free valet parking through our booking and it was fast and efficient every time we needed our vehicle. Made loading and unloading an absolute breeze too. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

I think it was offensive to have a bottle of water in the room that was free so long as you were an "elite" member but cost $4 if you were not. It would be much better to not create a two tiered system over a bottle of water---pretty ridiculous.

I am a Hyatt member and never expected a not so wonderful stay. It was not the standard from past stays at other locations. I took several photos to add to my Google review and do not mind sharing via email. I was advised to speak with Expedia for compensation for the inconvenience of pubic hair on the mattress. The mattress was soiled and sheets. The robe hood was the same. I felt unclean and will never forget how offset the staff was. Only 2 associates were friendly while everyone else acted as if guests were a bother. Housekeeping did not know I spoke Spanish and were making rude, unprofessional comments because I asked for housekeeping to tame the dust in the room. The restaurant waffle was dry but the spinach was okay

Loved the hotel but they seemed a little short staffed. No menus to the restaurant in the room. I had to pick up my own wine glasses. Hotel staff would not bring up glasses but the restaurant was accommodating.

Great hotel

The place is fine, but it would be nice if the cleaning staff cleaned the room daily. Running out of coffee and having an unmade bed to welcome me at the end of the day wasn't what I would think of in a hotel. There was also some gas-like smell every once in a while in the room.

I definitely recommend staying at this location. It was my second time staying here. The property is extremely clean and both times I stayed it was quiet at night. This is on the smaller side compared to other hotels, however it makes it easy to navigate. Checking in and out is very quick. The only thing we were bummed about is that there weren't any vending machines to purchase beverages.

Very dissatisfied customer!
Requested a room away from the elevator. My room was 2 doors away. I had a smoke alarm light that blinked all night long. When I told the front desk clerk about it she told me that they already new of the problem and what no one fixed. I requested extra bath towels and I was told they would bring them up to the room in 5 minutes. 2 hours later I went to the front desk to get extra bath towels. I expected on problems for the $398 one night stay. I'm very disappointed with my stay! Save your money and find a better Hotel

the Hotel staff were great, the only problem we had was with the housekeeping staff as they continually forgot to leave clean towels and tissue paper daily. they also gave us a room with 2 queen beds instead of the King bed I had paid for. their Happy Hour was very good

Quiet location
Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly and efficient. The room and bathroom were small but had everything we needed. The location was great. The hotel is right across the street from the free trolley stop. We used the valet to park the car. When we checked out, the car was brought around quickly. Our stay was enjoyable would recommend this hotel.

Hit & Miss.
I stay at this place several times a month. High turnover rate. Restaurant is finally open & the food is wonderful. Hotel calls it valet but no valet attendants. I guess that’s why there’s a 1/2 off on valet now. It went from $35 to $40 & now $20. Staff is not so friendly. Asked about lost & found item & still waiting for a response. I think it’s time to start staying at another place & just stop at restaurant when I’m in the area.

This hotel was very clean and we had great service. Our only complaint was there were no vending machines or anywhere to get quick drinks or snacks. Also, no ice machine on our floor so we had to go to the front desk anytime we needed ice.

My visit at the Hyatt Centric Hotel was okay. The staff is very friendly. The room was very small the bathroom was also very small. Trying to use the shower it's very confusing there's no instructions on how to open that particular type of shower faucet. The refrigerator was a drawer refrigerator. The site shows mini fridge that's not a mini fridge that was a drawer refrigerator which holds hardly nothing. We did call the front desk and they were kind enough to bring us a real mini refrigerator. There is no microwave at the room if you need to use a microwave they have a community microwave behind the help desk I was told. The location is great the trolley which is free and runs down King Street stops right in front of the hotel so that was a Plus. There are many restaurants to choose from there's a nice little corner Cafe right across the street from the Hyatt Centric which has really good quick breakfast and affordable. Would I stay here again no the rooms was just too small it remind me of a room in New York City which tend to be small

The hotel is kept well and in working order. The only issue I find is that it’s still hanging on to the old and expired “because of covid” excuse for omitting proper housekeeping. The lady at check-in informed us that room cleaning was upon request. Meanwhile their savings are not passed on to the final hotel bill; nor are any of the employees wearing masks “because of covid” so their excuse is not consistent.
Other hotels are back to normal so I will make sure to ask about this policy next time I book anywhere.

The biggest concern we had with our room was cleanliness. There was a lot of dust in bed frames and a splatter of what we could only assume was feces on the wall behind the bathroom door (that splatter was there when we got there). We also only received room cleaning two days during our 6 night stay. We had to request the front desk that our room was cleaned.

Old Town Stay was great
The stay was very nice. The hotel was clean and a very short walk to the shops on King Street. Very close to the subway or the metro. The only thing I did not like was that there were no ice machines on the floor also the maid forgot to give me pillowcases on my bed. However the beds are very comfortable felt like I was sleeping on clouds.

Home away from Home - Old Town/Alexandria
We were greeted with a smile and great service! They were very helpful every time we had a question and also gave us information about the area, using the trolley, eating, etc. it’s about 2 blocks from the Metro stop which is great with luggage. The trolley stop is across the street that takes you down to the water front with lots of shops and restaurants. Thiesmam’s across the way from Metro has great food and service. They don’t clean the room daily but when asked about extra linens and coffee, they were there with them! Definitely recommend this place and will stay here again!
