Beautiful hotel with outstanding service

Very disappointed
We have stayed there many times over the years. Now it's time for a major refresh. Nothing has changed over the years, and it shows. The rooms used to be stocked with various snacks (included in the resort fee). Now nothing. When I asked, the person at the counter, he said that now the resort fee allows you to make your own coffee. $35 for parking and $30. for a resort fee is out of hand. Also, the lobby bar is no longer in use. It is just a big empty space. As the only real hotel in the area, it makes no sense.
I hope a general redo happens in the near future.

I was very disappointed to find I was charged $35 after my stay for parking. Expedia listed nothing about a required valet parking fee-only the resort fee. When arriving at the resort, I asked if I could park myself and the Valet said no it was valet only. He did not mention any charge. There was NO signage stating their was a charge. At the front counter, I never signed anything agreeing to a parking charge. I called and spoke to Anthony on 1/3/24 and would not remove the charge for me. The room was overpriced for what it is, and to try to fleece customers for another $35 with no option to self park is dishonest in my opinion.

The staff was very helpful and polite. Right on the beach alot of bang for your buck. Would recommend and syltay again. The only complaint is outlets bring a 4 in 1 plug or however many to accommodate your charging mreds for phone, laptop, tablet, kids tablet... etc. Other than that its worth a look in a great lication for shopping eating or just walking around and takin in scenery

We found an apple core under the chair in our room. It had obviously been there for awhile. Shocking given we had to pay a $150 deep cleaning fee for a 10 pound dog that sleeps in a cage.
Bathroom could also be cleaner.

The staff couldn't have been nicer and tried to be extremely accommodating. At no fault of the staff-my complaint is with the room. The room was small especially the bathroom that my Husband 6'6 couldn't fit in. The room had a burn hole in the floor and stains on the chair. For the costs associated with a resort and fees charged, I was highly disappointed with the room.

The hotel was beautiful . I thought I booked a hotel room with a balcony and a bigger room. Our room overlooked a construction site and I'm sure one of the smallest rooms in the hotel. This was a very special occasion and I paid more for this stay because of that. I don't think I will be booking through Hotel.com again

Delightful Stay
My daughter and I had a delightful stay during the recent hurricane/tropical storm. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
It was very quiet in the Hotel; we could not tell there was a storm in process. The building was obviously safe and well built

Very nice stay! Building a little dated but that added to the beauty of the resort. I loved that the beach wasn't crowed at all and maybe it due to the fact that it's the only resort in the middle of other beach homes and a few miles from other hotels! My daughter and l love it!

They need to have a plumber repair the hot water faucet, it is hard to turn on and the faucet in the bath/shower, both flow together when you press down to shower. We could hear people in the room next to us loudly talking late last night. There is no excuse for this in a high-end hotel.

I have lived in Jacksonville for over 50 years and remember when One Ocean was the Sea Turtle Inn! I was very disappointed when the hotel could not accommodate an early check-in for a special event for my daughter! We had to wait at least 2 hours in the lobby during a violent storm, for 2 rooms to get cleaned! Check-in was at 4:00 and we still had to wait well beyond the regular check in time! That’s ridiculous when they knew about our request and early arrival for several weeks! This is a management problem! Very unacceptable!

Do you like to valet? You better. Why a pain in the ass. Asking permission to retrieve your car every time you have to go somewhere. The valets are barely of age.
Check in was not great and not a good way to start the stay. The staff didn’t know much or were new.
You expect a really nice facility but the rooms are small, the bathrooms are even smaller and you have to Jenga the doors to get in. For the price, it needs updated and they need to throw out the valets. We can park our own cars.

We were disappointed with the hotel. It takes 2 elevators to get to your room. Also, our bathroom was TINY!…smaller than those old cruise ship bathrooms. Definitely NOT resort worthy. It’s only selling point is its location in the heart of Town Center. You don’t need a car. The bed in our room was VERY COMFORTABLE! Excellent!…but overall I DO NOT consider it a resort by any means. Honest opinion.

The property was located on the beach, which was nice. It was well maintained. It was located to lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, so you didn't really need to have your car out of valet the whole time. I believe the bathrooms in the rooms could be larger, when you are staying with your family, you need a little more room. There was no self-serve ice machines, which would have been handy. Would have liked to have seen more couch seating outside, not just at the restaurant, but out by the pool. The housekeeping and valet employees were great, did wonderful jobs! Also the beach employees were working hard to make sure everyone could have lounge chairs and umbrellas when they came down to the beach, which was nice.

The hotel was excellent. Very clean and welcoming. I loved the decor. Our room was so chic! We had the “partial ocean view” room. Definitely partial- and our room looked out onto construction and trash and debris. There was no balcony either so it didn’t feel like we were at the beach. I definitely would not get a room on that side if I went back (312).

Property is beautiful and majority of staff is very nice and welcoming except one. Check in and check out with her was very disappointing. She did not listen what we were telling her. She assumed lots of things that were not told to her. She did not try to check any information on card charges before she jumped into conclusions. And once we showed her proof than she directed to check hotel system. Ramooz is very unwelcoming and acts like we ask her for favor. It can be very upsetting for guests who come on vacation to relax. Thank you

One Ocean - NOT a non-smoking hotel
My husband and I have stayed at One Ocean many times through the years. Early on it was wonderful in every way with excellent service and in-room amenities. During and after Covid, both of these declined. But the worst was our recent stay. It was to be a one night treat after a doctor's appointment at UF Health. The ocean front rooms have always been nice in the evening and to watch the sunrise but NOT when extreme smokers are on other balconies. When we let the front desk know at check-out all we were told was "Sorry about that"

Check in was great except they forgot to provide the WiFi code so we had to call down for it and it wasn't in any of our check in information... room is good except we didn't have a tv remote so we had to call and have one delivered... Tried to get on the elevator yesterday and it was full with your housekeeping crew who made NO attempt to allow us entry or apologized that we were unable to ride along... ate breakfast in your restaurant this am (first time eating breakfast here) and was told you were sold out (we were there around 845a) and were offered dining in the bar - which we were completely ok with BUT we sat near your dining room and watched and saw your dining room was never full and in fact not more that 2-3 families came after us for breakfast. Maybe you had a lot of no shows, however your dining room was almost empty when we came as well. I am a repeat guest who has stayed here multiple times (we have dogs) and we like your location. Just not sure if you're worth the extra money anymore when I can stay down the road (on the beach) for less.

The breakfasts and dinners were awesome, and the staff was very friendly. The view was spectacular from the balcony. However, the bathroom was very small, and there was wallpaper coming off the wall. The whole room was in dire need of updating. Worse, though, was that the room was not clean. There was noticeable dust on the headboard, and when we wiped down the shower floor so the maid would not slip on the sunscreen we had put on in the shower, the towel that we wiped the shower floor with was filthy. It seemed like no bleach had ever been used in that shower. Additionally, the one morning that we wanted to get out to the pool at around 9:30, there were no towels available. We had to search down a staff member to bring some towels out. Beware, too, that there is no adult pool and no hot tub.
