A great experience!
Tony Hotel is a gem! Glad we got the spacious ocean view room! The mid-century decor in earthy 70s colors make it special. The employees really care about their historic hotel and guests. The location is great - walkable to restaurants and shows, and the beautiful beach of course! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

The staff was very nice and accommodating, the hotel is modern but inexpensively done. it is right on the strip so it's a little noisy. the News Cafe downstairs is wonderful, the service was fantastic and the food delicious. it was our first time and the staff at the hotel were not very helpful with where to go and what to see. the weather was not nice enough to just hang at the beach and shopping was all inexpensive tourist shops or stores you can find in any suburban shopping mall

Perfect location
Excellent! This is an ideal spot—easy to walk to the beach and restaurants, but a street away from the busy and noisy main street so it’s nice and quiet. Beach chairs and towels were a major plus. Pool is awesome, bar is great, and the staff were friendly. Would definitely come again!

Well maintained hotel in a perfect location in the heart of the art deco district of South Beach. Walk to everything, but if you choose to drive, parking is a block away. Notably friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was adequate, seemed a bit pricey til I saw how expensive all the other restaurants are in this neighborhood.

We booked a room with two queen size beds in advance, and once we arrived to the front desk to check in. We were advised that we only have one bed instead of the two.
We stayed one night only as we decided to leave and look for somewhere else, the Hotel Manager mentioned that the hotel will only charge us for one night and the refund will reflect back to the credit card for the remaining night.
The money wasn’t refunded to me as we were promised from the Hotel Manager

The Tony Hotel is a wonderful option for visitors of South Beach. Great location. Only downside is that the parking garage is a block away. The best breakfast is at the News Cafe. Overall a very good stay.

I really liked the nice decorative details in the room and the lobby. Also, the complimentary beach chair and towel service is so helpful! As well, every time I had a request (either for ice or an umbrella) the staff really went out of their way to give me service as soon as possible. I really liked this hotel in Miami's South Beach, and I definitely would recommend it to anyone!

The room was always immaculate.
I understand that many hotels charge a fee for private cabanas. Understood. But all lounge chairs should be available to all hotel guests all the time. The prime lounge chairs were off limits to the guests unless you purchased a private cabana. Not a good policy.

The staff was amazing, very welcoming and informative. The hotel is really nice and in the perfect location. The room could have used some updating but not a big deal bc we weren't in it too often. If we were, we sat on the balcony bc the ocean view is amazing. Ppl watching was fun too! The biggest issue we encountered was the shower. The water leaked out of it and filled the bathroom floor everytime we showered.

I was ‘upgraded’ to a larger room but it was located off site next to actual hotel over a bustling rest. I asked for a different room and staff was accommodating. Basic room felt a bit neglected.

I loved the energetic vibe of the area and all the historic art deco buildings. You can almost picture 1940’s history while walking around. We had an ocean view room that was very large and comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Miami South Beach at The Tony Hotel! We were greeted daily by friendly l, helpful staff who couldn’t do enough to assist. Jamie the concierge was very knowledgable and approachable, offered us trips and arranged a hotel pick up to explore Miami City and Star Island! Jorge at reception assisted our stay and recommended some great restaurants too! The location of the hotel was perfect to walk down the Ocean Drive to Pier point for great views of the City Skyline!
The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable with everything you needed

The location was good but I found the room could use a deep clean. There was debris falling on the bed from the light in the ceiling. Also, being an older hotel, the rooms are not sound proof. We could hear the people/cleaning staff above us and a screaming kid next door.
Happy Hour was pricey compared to other locations along Collins Avenue. Front Desk staff were pleasant but found service in the bar very slow and made to feel we were putting him out.
Overall, our stay was satisfactory for the price.

I stayed in the Ocean Drive building. Overall our room was pretty clean and the room was newly renovated. It was an easy walk to get anywhere and there was a lot to do. Pool was very clean and bar staff were great. Beach chair and towels are included with your stay which was great for us. Didn't have to carry much to the beach!

First of all, the staff was very helpful and nice. The location is conveniently situated with many excellent restaurants and close to the beach. The beach area near the hotel is not as crowded compared to other areas. It's also a significant advantage to have beach chairs and towels provided. The only downside is that the rooms are old and not very cozy. If you are on a budget and don't plan to spend much time in your room, this is a great option.

On balance, have to say The Tony Hotel is somewhere between very good and excellent. Property, staff, location, amenities, restaurants, everything well executed. Had corner room above News Cafe, facing Ocean overlooking beach. Initially concerned Weekend noise might be an issue. Not a problem in mid Oct. Balcony unexpected bonus!

Our First Time at The Tony Hotel
Overall the stay was great.
Very friendly staff, specially David the concierge. He helped us plan our days we had no plans and we weren't disappointed. He made sure we felt welcomed every day of our stay! Thanks for having him.and overall a great friendly staff!
Rooms were clean and with proper amenities... but a little noisy from elevator and footsteps above us.. were a little annoying, although once asleep we didn't care.
We will for sure consider staying here again as it was close to the beach, but not close to the club's noise at night and for the first time a friendly and helfull staff

The proximity to the beach was great. As was our concierge Jamie. However, the cleanliness of our room left much to be desired. We’re fairly flexible travellers, but finding a cockroach in our room ruined the experience. Very disappointing. Would not recommend this hotel for families.

Still an Art d'Ecco hotel, at least the old building is, you still can imagine how the good old days of guests arriving at your favorite hotel were. Nice people, answering your questions, nice location on Ocean Dr. The new building is just there. South beach is getting worse each time we go... at least if you do not have a spring break mentality. Enjoy the hotel.

Nice view from room as i booked an ocean view room. Nice location. Poor service..even after calling and asking to send someone to mend the coffee machine, noone came. Our rooms were separate from the main property hence it was difficult to find any staff at reception.. but overall was a good stay.

This place is not only historic for Art Deco hotel architecture, but has amazing customer service. We arrived off our cruise at 8:40 am. Yep! They allowed us use of the pool and beach at 10 am. We stored our luggage and ate breakfast. Now hey called by 11:00 to check in!!! I would be remiss if if I didn’t mention David.
He will treat you like a queen, all the while showing and telling you about the area. We LOVED thst the hotel had complementary beach chairs and towels set up by a company in South Beach a street away. The rooftop pool was attended by awesome staff, too. We also LOVED the News Cafe right on property. Thanks for the 15 percent discount. Great food abs people watching. Room was super well appointed and spacious. There was even an umbrella and ear plugs. Ocean drive is a little noisy, but not bad at all. We can’t wait to stay here again

We had a last minute 2 night stay in South Beach and are so glad we selected The Tony Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. The room was spacious. The rooftop pool had a great vibe. Plus the hotel is centrally located to everything in South Beach. Much nicer experience than your typical chain hotel.

Great location overlooking Ocean Drive and the Beach. Of course, there was some street party noise that comes with that, but everything calmed down by 10 to 11 pm. Good check in, and Anderson kindly handled our luggage for us. Once you figure our the parking nearby, that proved easy as well.

Poor overall service
Most of the stay was fine, however the housekeeping needs improving as my coffee condiments packs (sugar, sweeteners, whitener) were not replaced for 2 days in a row and the separate brown sugar sachets were never replaced. Even when I asked for them after the second time (when I was on my way out), they were left in reception, due to housekeeping having finished for the day. They then had to send someone over after I phoned to ask where they were. I don't care if housekeeping had finished for the day. The Duty Manager should have access to all rooms. Thankfully that was on my final night.
Also, the picture on the website of the balcony is totally false. My balcony did not have a nice table and 2 chairs. It had a basic round table and 2 stools, one of which was covered in bird poo. Also, the table was too large to walk around, therefore, if the other stool was required, someone would have to crouch down under the table to get to it (see pics). False advertising.
The staff allowed drunken morons to come in at 3am and wake the whole place up.
In addition to this, the pool staff allowed people to have drinks in or around the pool, even though the rules stated this wasn't allowed. People even left empty cups around the pool instead of putting them in the bin and staff did nothing. They also allowed someone to blast out gangsta rap on his phone at full volume. There was already music playing, which was relevant to a relaxing time. He should not have been allowed to do this.

Our room was large and clean and comfortable. However we were in a different building to our friends. We had to leave the hotel and walk to a different building down the road to checkin checkout use the pool and the bar. It would have been good if the Hotel clarified this when we booked our room eg note the address as it was different to the other place. we were in a group and we were away from our friends. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to a group.

I booked my stay here about 6 months before my actual travel date. We booked a balcony room. The ac stopped working. They came to fix it, and it broke again. So they had to move us. We were moved another time after that because the bed was too small. I really liked the property but so disappointed about the ac situation and the lack of availability to accommodate us. Don’t think I’ll stay here again.

Nice hotel extremely well located on South Beach. It is on Collins Street, 2min walk from Ocean Dr and the beach. You're also about 15min from Lincoln Rd.
The hotel itself is nice and well decorated, the lobby has nice art deco touches. All the staff we met was very friendly and helpful. You also get complimentary free admission to Wynwood Walls and free towels and lounge chairs at the beach (umbrellas are extra and will cost $20).
The rooftop pool was great, we spent most of our time there. The pool isn't the biggest but it's enough to cool off, and there's plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas around. The hotel clientele is calmer and more respectful that what we saw elsewhere, no loud music, shouting or people drinking too much. We had a 1yo baby and felt comfortable, they provided a crib for our room.
On the downsides, the rooms are in need of an update, they're pretty basic and dated. Soundproofing could be better, we could hear the people upstairs walking in their room very clearly, but outside city noises are blocked reasonably well.
Overall I recommend the hotel, especially if you're traveling with family or if you want something a bit calmer in the middle of south

The bed was very comfortable but it was too low to the floor. Everything in the room seemed to be for shorter people which I am not. Wasnt any other perks to this stay.
We arrived around 11/12 noon and wanted to do an early check in. Was told the room was not available yet so we went to find food. They did store our bags so that was a plus but I feel that if someone is there for an early check in the room they are waiting on should be expedited in the cleaning routine. It was after 4:00 when we finally were able to check in so basically dont expect an early check in. I did not like the shower. Having the showerhead directly over my head when I did not necessary want to get my hair wet every time I got in was an inconvenience and caused water to escape to the bathroom floor. Theres no microwave in the room nor in the lobby so any leftover food had to be eaten cold which I did not like because after being out late, we wanted real food to eat instead of snacks which was all we had access to after hours. Lastly, I was charged an extra $150 which I thought was for the daily incidentals but after 2 weeks still was not refunded so after calling found out I was stuck with someone elses bar tab. We dont drink any of what was listed on the tab and we didnt even visit the hotel bar so it is currently being researched. Be sure to request a copy of your bill at checkout to verify charges. I did request one and was told that It would be emailed to me by 11:00 am but never received it.
