Lets start off by sayingthe view from this place was great, the bed and sheets were comfortable and clean, However, after being inside the unit 10 to 15 minutes. I started to see roaches, the toilet worked sometimes, the floor was covered in sand like it hadnt been swept or mopped in a whie, I get we're on the beach but come on. No to mention the inept staff sitting at the front desk watching as me the guest strugles to get in the door, does he het up and assist me. NOPE!! Same exaxt experience with the same notwit this morming wjen i checked out. I will never be back and i will not be recommending this place to anybody!

What a deal! Right in the beach- courtyard pool opens right to the beach. Living area and separate bedroom. Tiny bathroom very dated but clean. Looking for something under $100 a night. Was $93 apparently to fill the rooms. This is listed as condo’s. Can’t imagine the amount they went for. Location great though

Nice hotel on the beach w/ heated pool
Nice place on the beach and good value for the price. Older building but well kept and clean spacious rooms. No daily cleaning service but towels, sheets available as needed. Friendly staff always willing to help. Plenty of nearby food and drink options across the street. I wouldn't call this a luxury beach resort, its just a simple hotel on the beach and good value for the money. The heated pool was exceptional, large, clean and deep enough for swimming (but not for small children swimming alone). We enjoyed it since the ocean was quite cold in January. I would stay here again if the price was right.

Great location
Front desk staff were very nice. Views are amazing. Being right on the beach can’t be beat. The suite was an excellent size. Unfortunately cleanliness and upkeep of the room could use improvement. Other than that, we liked it!

Old hotel, but clean
I know when I booked this hotel that it was older, and I was perfectly fine with that. The room was sufficient not absolutely gorgeous, but again I knew it was older. The access to the beach was wonderful. The front desk assistant was wonderful the only issue I had was the people next to us coming in at 1:30 in the morning letting the door slam over and over and being super loud moving stuff around in the room.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Beyond filthy rooms, bathrooms do not look like they have ever been cleaned, mold in the cracks. Room odor. Elevator order and beyond dirty. Overall needs to be deep cleaned and upgraded. Between the smell and the dirtiness it made for an uncomfortable stay.

Terrible experience
We were unable to use the shower because the cold water handle spun around and would not work. So we could get a quick bath before the water turned scalding hot. The front desk person attempted to fix, and said it was fixed, but when we went to use it, it still did not work. There was no drain in the tub, but the front desk person gave us one that sort of worked There were no cups, glasses, plates or silverware in the so called kitchenette. You had to ask for plastic silverware and paper products if you needed them. Everything was very worn, rusted, and outdated. The one good thing was the resort is beachfront. The front desk gave us a little packet of small treats when we left that they should have given out when we arrived. They also said next time we came there, they would give us a refund! We would never go back there even if they paid us! Hotels.com should not list this property. It was a nightmare. We travel often, and have never experienced anything like this before. We really should be refunded the entire amount for the one night we were there.

We stayed at this resort a year ago and had a regular room. This year we wanted a room that had an ocean view. The room was larger and a great view but, the vents were all dusty and dirty, no toilet paper holder, the table had looked like someone had done craft projects on it with dried paint and markings . The fridge was stainless steel, but had a lot of rust on it.
The outside grounds are older, but pool area was very clean. Will try a new place next year.

Everyone here was so nice, it was such an amazing part of our trip. The beach was so close and the pool was nice. They don't have daily maid services but everything was so clean when we got there. The staff was helpful and very friendly. We recommend all of our friends to make the trip from Idaho to visit.

This property isn't anything to write home about. The stars it had when I booked definitely mislead me. Think "old school" you actually have keys not cards to your room, the room really isnt updated and you can hear EVERYTHING! If you like quiet this is not the place for you, unfortunately you can hear people in the pool and we stayed next to a family who let their kids run loose, slammed doors, yelled, screamed, banged on the door and ran up and down the walkway. It is super close to the beach so if you dont really care about much, this place is for you.

This place was dated,slapped together places ive ever stayed. Had a single lock on the door. Large gap all the way around the door. Felt very unsafe. The beds was coverd in hair and damp. would never stay there again. The only good part of was beach access.

Micala made our stay very nice. She went beyond being helpful and friendly!! Everyone else were unfriendly. The condition of the place is old but comfortable. There are no dishes, pans, or silverware in the kitchen.

Can’t really be too unhappy being right on the beach! Lovely little beach hotel. Not the Ritz but hey your at the beach not in your room.
Staff were very attentive and nice! Plenty of parking! John’s Pass not too far away. Definitely go to Sweet Sage Cafe and Scully’s

Once in awhile, once is enough.
The view was fantastic, the beach close and very nice. The refrigerator and a/c worked great. TV good selection of sports. Good lighting in kitchen - not so much in other rooms. Need a few extension cords to plug in lights.
Blinds broken. Sink clogged. Toilet ran wasting water. You could flush and have it run continuously, or flush by hand, then push down the flapper and not have the noise. After two days of not being fixed, we chose to keep the lid off and do it ourselves. Sink was still clogged after five days. Balcony door extremely hard to open. We asked about changing rooms before we had everything in the room. Told none available. It didn't seem like it was ever full, but they may have meant no free Oceanview rooms.
Sign at pool says to shower before entering. There is no shower. Just a faucet when leaving the beach.
Maintenance guys did a great job of keeping sand cleaned off surfaces around areas. Housekeeping supplied fresh towels whenever you put dirty ones in basket by door. No housewares in kitchen area, but some available at front desk.
I realize staff is in short supply and that the few there seem to be working long hours, but . . .
We have booked an additional week at the beach, but somewhere else. The Indian Rocks and Redington Beaches are great. Parking was not an issue anywhere. If you enjoy roughing it, Sandalwood would be great.

It was OK. Staff was rude and the room was dirty. It needs major work and much better cleaning. I would not go back. The only positive was the location right on the beach.

Rooms were a disappointment. Had to be moved to a different room on the second day due to a burning odor in the room.Need to be updated. Coat of paint would help. Had to flush toilet twice before working. Would of been nice if the staff would have greeted us when coming through the lobby. ( Good morning, have a nice day) anything to acknowledge us) Didn’t seem very friendly. Would not stay there again.

A property that advertises itself as 'family friendly' should really have more than one pack n play available for guests to use - first come, first served, and I wasn't first. That said, the room setup is useful if you are traveling with children given the kitchenette and separate bedroom. Heavy objects like the tv are nicely strapped down. The property is in some disrepair (peeling paint, closet door off its track) but nothing major. Beachfront access was great. The baby would rate it 5 out of 5 based on cabinet doors available for banging.

So I arrive at the property at roughly 4:30pm to check in and was told, for some reason, my assigned room had been changed, which at the time didn't really register with me. This is an old, outdated facility, Which is fine if it's clean. Upon getting to my room.
I was happy to see that the ac had been set to a comfortable 70 degrees, (heat index outside 108). The room they had me in was very awkward, again it was 70° so I was happy. I prepared for a shower only to find that the shower was very dirty and the water pressure was minimal at best. I also found that the kitchen light did not work, and I found the blinds barely worked. The next morning I went down and was barely greeted by the front desk clerk, (personality like a rock) I let him know the situation and was quickly told, once the maintenance person showed up he would have them go up to the room and take care of the problems, that never happened. I will personally never be back!

I think the cleaning people should actually sweep the bedrooms and living areas before the next guest check in. I had to totally sweep the floors because there was so much sand on the floors it felt bad under your feet.

Our favorite beach hotel
This is our 3rd year in a row that we’ve stayed here. The rooms are huge and comfortable. Plenty of room for a family. The beach is 15 steps from your porch or balcony and the staff is helpful & accommodating

Needs a deep cleaning and repairs to rooms. Dust was caked on floorboards and broke toilet paper holders, broken shower shelfs, broken and falling down conduit on the walls.
Staff was very nice and helpful. The room view of beach and balcony was very nice. The building just needs a lot attention.

This was not at all what I was expecting. My room was right next to the pool along with many other rooms and it was VERY NOISY. Horrible layout. PEOPLE WERE PLAYING MUSIC VERY loud in a different language.The people and kids were screaming at the pool. Someone's child was standing in front of my door screaming for like an hour straight. I couldn't even take a nap because it was EXTREMELY LOUD. The noise was even worse at night coming from upstairs. We stayed on the bottom floor so could hear every foot step, people talking, and it sounded like someone was wrestling all night long. It kept me up all night. The beach view is nice but staying on the first floor was a horrible experience. The room was very outdated and needs updated. The bathroom was not nice at all especially the bathtub. I honestly didn't even want to shower it was disgusting.This place needs to be renovated ASAP. I can't believe you allow people to stay in a hotel like this. I just wanted a nice relaxing and romantic night with my husband. We spent over $200 for one night to stay here. People we banging around so loud at 7am this morning. You can hear every noise We are not happy customers.

Booking stated a one bedroom suite, this was not the case. One common area with two beds and a sofa bed. Paint and walls were deteriorating. Mold and mildew in the bathroom and kitchenette area. Staff’s customer service skills were rude and showed no signs of having any concern. For a cheaper price next door is a hotel by the hilton group which should be a better choice.

Sandlewood was filthy. The staff was rude and I could not get a receipt for our stay because we booked it through Expedia. We only stayed one night and slept on top of the covers and the shower was filthy. The coffee pot did not work the sinks were chipped. I would not stay or recommend anyone for this Property

Never again!
The only positive about the stay was the view. The toilet barely flushed. The shower curtain let the water run onto the bathroom floor. The air conditioning blew directly onto the bed. There were missing panels in the middle of the vertical blind. The floor was not mopped before our check-in. We had to park in an off-site lot as the parking lot at the hotel had no spaces. We left a day early due to the people above us constantly smoking weed every time we sat outside. We won't be back.

Excellent location; right on the beach; staff was very helpful especially Jose and Cecelia.
Property was old and seemingly band-aided together, very small inadequate parking lot, had to park across the street behind a store occasionally. But it was nice walking out of the room literally feet away from the beach. Also the pool was very nice

When we arrived early the guy was snarky to us and made it clear that we would have to wait till check in. He was the morning guy and continued to be snarky throughout our visit. When the shift changed and we got into our room we were pleasantly surprised. It’s an older property but the interior was bright and cheerful. Then we took our shoes off and realized that the floor was so sandy that we had to leave our shoes on inside. The room had tons of storage so if you’re there for a week or so you’ll be fine. Kitchenette had a refrigerator and freezer and a microwave. I saw no bugs which is a thing in the older Florida properties. The ventilation system sounded like there was a motorcycle parked on the roof. The bed was squishy soft but ok. Room needs drapes if you need a dark room for sleeping. The shower was a bit sad, low pressure and the curtain didn’t really reach the edge of the tub well enough to catch splashing. The beach chairs require a rental fee. I’ll give them a solid “meh” and stay elsewhere on a future stay.

This is an older property with excellent customer service. The pool looked clean (didn’t use) and beach access super easy. There’s a nice covered seating area looking out onto the beach. Small fridge, micro & keurig in the kitchenette just what you need for a few days at the beach. Several dining options within walking distance (though many are closed are Mondays). Would stay again.

It was in the rough side shape wise, the closet track, shower were rusty. The toilet didnt seat well to the floor and the tpilet seat was broken, two doors handlrs were loose that I fixed and told the manager about the rest. My dut feeling is they are okay the way it is and don't want to fuss with anything as long as the crowd continues to come. It was close to the beach and had a pool that had a lot of kids playing in. Kind of noisey but enjoyed Mai Tai's next door at the Doubletree outside bar.

Still needs work
We’ve stayed at this property a few times and each time they made improvements to the site. Still needs work in the bathroom showers including moody vents. but it was a great price and location.

Booked a 4 night stay at this property. Did not stay 1 night. Checked in, contacted Expedia within a half hour for a refund(they refunded 3 of the 4 nights) & checked out.
The best way to describe this “resort”: they put lipstick on a pig & made it look pretty for the pictures.
It’s a motel that identifies as a resort. It’s dirty, old & smelly. The tub was disgusting, the wall above the beds was bubbling, vents had dirt & mold that were visible, the skylights were blackened(paint?, mold?,dirt?), there were stains on the pillowcase, and the room had a weird smell. The ice machine near the elevator looked like it had been there for 30-40 years & not cleaned for 30-40 years.
They slapped some modern flooring down in the room to give it an updated look.
The beach was beautiful, which was the only positive thing about this place. Also, they charge to use the chairs/umbrellas on the beach, at this property.

Paradise on a budget
Great spot on the beach with huge deck overlooking the ocean. The room was very spacious. If you’re looking for super clean and high end amenities this probably isn’t your place. But if location is your MO and reasonable priced rooms then I highly recommend. I will be back!

Located right on the beach and with walkable distance to several restaurants we didn't even need to use the car during our stay. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The lowest priced room had a king bed and small kitchen area with sink, mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. No hotplate. There is a walk-in closet with cabinet with a hasp so you can bring a lock if you worry about keeping your belongings secure while on the beach. The room could use some cosmetic updates but functionally it was fine. Would stay again

Very easy access to the beach which is beautiful! Super easy to grab our chairs from our van and walk out to the beach. Older hotel but price was great. I felt safe as a women staying at this hotel. Had dinner at the hotel next store and walked to Dunking Donuts for egg sandwich in the morning. Will stay here again for a beach getaway.

The "resort" was terrible, just terrible. Frist off, it is not a resort, or hotel, it is a motel. It was listed as 7 of 10 stars. It is listed as a smoke free resort. It is not. We had a baby with us and the room reeked of smoke. It was filthy and had ants, and mold in the shower and mold on the air vents. ( I have pictures) We requested another room, and were denied. It was very late at night, so we had no choice but to stay. The next day we asked to move. We were told they would let us know by 4pm. There were smokers everywhere and cigarette butts everywhere. We asked if we could cancel for the 2nd night, and they refused. We came back at 4 to have them show us a different room that they had sprayed air freshener in to make it seem better. It was not. We again asked if we could please cancel and go home. They said no. We reached out to Orbitz and were refused also. This was so very disappointing. I had specifically looked for a smoke free hotel. It was a last minute get away for my son and his family because he works so very hard, 7 days a week and got a last minute chance to take 2 days off. When the 2nd room was just as bad, the supervisor told us to reach out to orbitz and he would refund the 2nd night. They did not. We just went home instead and didn't stay the 2nd night. Absolutely awful, a completely ruined getaway. I have always used Orbitz and I am so disappointed that this property is so terribly misrepresented.

Should NOT be called a resort!! I have photos I would like to submit. Dirty floors, bad paint job, rust in tub, lock on main door a push lock with really bad latches added. Called Expedia to cancel; two ladies did not feel safe there - would not let us cancel!! Had to stay 2 nights or loose money. Not a safe or nice place for two ladies travelling alone! Desk girl was nice men at desk not. NOT worth the rate - $256 Cdn a night and when leaving they quoted another guest $60 cheaper!! Dirty, no class and absolutely NOT a resort. Could not even clean pool area. Dirty throw pillows - we could not wait to get out!!!!

The room smelled like urine, asked front desk for help, nothing was done, she acted as if I was bothering her. The light in the shower was out, the room had no black out drapes, only blinds, the bed had no mattress cover, the pillows smelled and also had no pillow protector. The bed had a staine on the sheet. Filthy! For the price per night, this should not be an issue. Over priced! For a dump. I will share this information on other websites, with the pictures I have, so no one else will be scammed by Expedia and this hotel.

Could stand a deep clean. For the price I wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal but I would have thought it would have been clean. Our room slept 4, the bathroom was a tight squeeze so no two people could get ready at the same time with the only mirror. The rest of the room was pretty spacious.

Hotel is older, but room was cute and fairly recently updated. Our room was not an ocean view but we could still see the beach from our bedroom. Sleeper sofa in living area was not very comfortable, I guess that is to be expected. Being able to walk right out onto the white sand beach was fantastic! I would stay again, and if I don't procrastinate next time, we can reserve a room with a view.

Friendly staff helps overcome any short comings.
Great staff, nice beach but just an old property. No housekeeping. Found sticky chairs and table upon arrival. Burnt out light in bathroom.
