Nice beach and friendly staff. Gulf tower renovation underway which made finding the breakfast buffet difficult. Overall a good value though.

The best thing this resort has going for it is the STAFF, the location. We stayed in the Gulf tower which is undergoing construction. It was extremely noisy, the fire alarm went off 3 times, including 2am one morning, the flooring being installed and no direction where to go from out of the elevator, the banging of and emptying of dumpsters at 4:30am, the night club pumping until 2:30AM and inconsistancy of hours with the Tiki Bar by the pool The food at the Tiki Bar was excellent!!! But you never knew when they were to be open. There is music every day at the Tiki Bar on the beach and good music too with the same delicious food. No consistency at all. The Valet Staff, the Reception Staff are all wonderful and an example of customer service. Due to the construction and the noise, lack of safety precautions around the construction I feel was very poor.

We needed to use an e-credit from airline before it expired a decided to go to Tampa/Clearwater and after a short search we chose Shephard's Beach Resort. Construction is being done and we weren't sure were to enter because of lack of signs. We went down to the Tiki bar and sat there without being waited on so we left and went across street to get a drink and eat. It was to cold to enjoy the beach and it didn't cost extra to park . I don't know if there is much to do without leaving the property although there was a band that played until 2am Sunday morning making it hard for those of us who prefer to sleep. I will not be back to this property but it might be a good place for someone else.

The room was nice, and clean. I appreciated the quiet heat/AC unit. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchenette and small balcony were great bonuses. Nice pool and tiki bar. Would definitely stay again.

Great location with private beach. Close to lots of restaurants and attractions. We stayed on the street side after reading about late night music. Much quieter but the base was still pretty loud. Bathrooms could use a bit more attention. I would stay again for the beach and location.

The first room I had stayed with the air-condition can't be controlled and keeps running all night regardless the temperature settings, shower water does not drain. So I have to ask them to change to other room next day . The second one all fine.

My suite at the resort was very stylish and modern. There was so much to do within walking distance. The beach had beautiful white sands with lifeguards on watch to keep everyone safe. Many activities to do on the beach or on water.

This was a great hotel, service was amazing. Restaurant construction was load at night and you have to pay to use chairs on the beach.

Very little sleep
Only issue was the late night live music. Very, very loud even with the siding door closed. A couple of the nights went until 1 in the morning. Something to be aware of when bookings.

Everything is within steps for what you needed. The pool, the beach, entertainment and multiple choices for dining, either at the pool, listening to the daily entertainment or a sit inside area. The property was very clean and the staff was excellent! Outside the resort dining and shopping were within walking distance. Beautiful area. Beautiful views.

Living the dream
We had a wonderful mini vacation spent with family at Shepards Beach Resort. been there many times and enjoyed the area and hanging out at the resort. There are lots of things to do in Clearwater. The nightlife at the resort is a happening thing and tons of people if events are going on, sometimes a little loud depending on which side of the resort your room is, we got lucky this time and got a street-side room. The only thing I wish they would change is the closing pool area time until 10 pm instead of 9 pm we enjoyed relaxing in the pool and spa in the evening listening to the music. The use of tumblers with lids out by the pool would also be a great change, that way you can keep stuff out of your drinks.

We have been to many resorts where was nothing to do after 8pm. We loved that there was live music every night until midnight and later on weekends. The nightclub was a nice touch even though we were too tired to stay up and dance 😊 The food was amazing and reasonably priced, staff and service were fantastic. Grounds are clean and well maintained and the location is convenient to walk to the public beach. Highly recommend!

The pictures presented on the website were deceiving. The view from the room was not the pool side as depicted. It's more like a Speedway gas station and a miniature golf course.
Also, I didn't like the fact of having to pay to use the resort's beach chairs and umbrellas.
Not happy paying resort fees for a pool I didn't use either.
I think what I paid was steep for what it was.

Overall the place was very nice. The only thing that was absolutely horrible was the noise level. Our room was located near the nightclub and the noise was so loud every night till 2 in the morning. Even with the tv level very loud we could hear the music as if we were in the night club.

We were so happy with our stay at Shepard’s. The nightly music entertainment was great. The staff was amazing all the time. Especially Todd the bartender at the pool side bar! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We traveled on the trolley most of the time but Uber was very reasonably priced. The only negative about our stay is that the water in the room doesn’t get cold at all. It’s warm if not hot all the time. Also the bars at night sort of shame you if you don’t tip them a high amount. They ring a very obnoxious bell when someone tips large. Other than that amazing time!!

Overall I really liked my stay. The front desk ladies were nice and the rooms themselves were quiet. I would say it’s definitely more of a “party” resort or atleast on a holiday weekend/ weekend with the djs and bands playing. So if that’s not your thing then just be aware of it. Super convenient with rentals right there on the water and located within walking distance of a lot of things as well.

I loved the pool and there being a private beach. Relaxing hotel.Yes there is live music every night but I loved it. Having great drinks at the tiki grill. The valet parking was nice to see. We will definitely be back to Shephards.

We have stayed here more than 5 different occasions and unfortunately it’s closer to a motel now than anything. From no air to sewer back up to room change nightmare. Our complaining was overwhelming for under prepared exhausted staff. I have no more words just cut all ties with this establishment. I wish them all the luck

Shepard's is a small resort that packs a huge punch! great pool and entertainment areas for everything from relaxing to listening to great music and enjoying amazing food and drinks! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. We had a party of 8 people and they treated us all like we were the the most important guests everyday!

Had an amazing time!! Our hotel room was exceptionally clean. Staff was very pleasant! Our room was in front of the tiki bar, we were able to sleep just fine. Anyone who says they can’t is being dramatic. Can’t wait to visit again!

Not happy!!
Our mattress had to be replaced due to being worn out but was replaced quickly. Wall in the shower was rotted due to water damage.
At the price of the rooms we expected a breakfast but not even coffee and muffin.
We had to beg for the use of a luggage rack to move our bags to and from our room.
Beach front but they don’t tell you that you have to rent the chair for $30.00 a day.
We will not stay here again!!

Racist Resort
Valet Service was racist. Ask for a cart cause i was parked in handicap cause wife is handicap & sister had a bad shoulder. valet said i need to check out immediately if i want a luggage cart & would not give me one. One in our group was a white guy and right after me he asked for one and they gave it to him immediately. We questioned the valet and they said we had to give him one because he complained to the front desk first which was a lie because he is our friend & we know he didn't go to front desk first. Not interested in staying at a place that is racist and wants to nickel and dime you for everything.

The first room we had was dirty in the corners of the tile, looked like mold. We ended up having to move because of sewer gas smell. The second room was cleaner. Wished the pool and spa was open passed 9pm. The swimming pool bar was misleading, i was hoping that we would be able to sit in the pool.

I booked a room with 2 beds but when we arrived the room just have a king size bed. The hotel was full this weekend and they were unable to change my room. They put a roll bed to fix the problem. According to the staff explanation it was an Expedia mistake not made by them. The hotel location is excellent, the beach behind the hotel is small and not too good but it is ok. Food in the Tiki bar is awful and expensive. Do not eat there.

I highly recommend this hotel. The location is amazing, the room super spacious and very clean, but the most important ITS PEOPLE make a big difference. From The Valet parking to the Tiki crew, from the Front Desk to the cleaners. Everyone delivered an outstanding stellar service. The management team should be proud due all and each of you are a great assets to the Shephard Hotel. And we'll definitely come back again. Kudos!
