I have to say complete disappointment. Stayed RM 208 - had to change room at our request on the 2nd evening the room was overwhelmed stench of rotten eggs the 1st. night we slept with the patio door open, the 2nd night we ask to be changed, the bathroom looked as if it was not cleaned, tubs looks like from 1970. Moved to a new room on the 4th floor only to be met with a tap in the shower that runs without stop , could not sleep. Next day at 9 am, the jack hammer started directly above our bed, scared the hell out out of us out of our sleep. We finally called after this noise would not stop about 11am, and was told they are renovating and this noise will continue daily from 9am-4pm.
I asked , why did you move us directly below the renovations, and was told by the manager, there is nothing they can do. Would I like to check out? I asked to go where over the Christmas holidays . I was told I could check for rooms at another hotel...
So disappointed in Marriott. I have used this Hotel brand for decades, and have never ever had treatment like this. I have never found the quality of the hotel health and safety, so poor, bath tubs in either room looked not washed and sanitized.
The manager needs to be trained to better offer solutions, to issues for guests. Offering for us to check out with no place to go is not a solution.
I was so exhausted leaving, not a pleasant place to be at all .
I did take pictures and videos and recorded the noise of the jackhammer

I love this hotel. For the pass three years twice a year, we have stayed here. The staff is very friendly. The local is near restaurants, grocery stores and other stores. I recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel was renovated but smelled aweful. The elevators were functional but scary and no sticker showing the state inspection. Our room didn't get clean and no new towels were provided. The establishment across the street had a party that could heard late into the morning hours

The wall paper in the room is peeling off. The room smells bad. T.v didn’t work & the couches are old & have stains on them. The pool was dirty. And there was no cleaning supplies available to guest. Auggghhhhh

I misunderstood the description of the breakfast???
I thought it was a free breakfast when in fact there is a surcharge for the breakfast. My mistake in reading the AD.
A High price too pay for a room and you can't even get a free cup of coffee or a piece of toast??????

The hotel seems understaffed. My room was clean but somewhat unorganized. Coffee pot over the sink was unusual, there was plenty of open areas to place it. There was a random wood shelving unit also by the sink.

I always try to stay at a Marriott whenever I travel. Our room in Chester, VA, was very clean and near where we were going. However, at check-in, I wasn't told that our room wouldn't be cleaned every day. If I had known that, we would have been more careful with our towels. I was given clean towels when I asked for them.
Also, the heat did not work in our room!! It was chilly and it would have been nice to have a bit of heat in our room. When I asked about this at the front desk, I was told we could be moved to another room. That wasn't acceptable. It would have been wonderful if someone could have come to our room and shown us how to turn on the heat. The instructions on the unit were not clear.
We managed just fine because it wasn't freezing, but it would have been nice to have heat.

The mattress reeked of urine. They had no more rooms, had to wait until night 2 to get switched. Most Uncomfortable stay I’ve ever had in a Marriott, and I travel a LOT. Marriott has always been my go to, but this time was extremely disappointing.

The girl at the desk in the evening was very nice and helpful. The girl at the desk in the morning looked at us like she wanted to kill us. And when we gave her out cards and checkout she grunted. I said thank you and she said “uh-huh” and gave us a dirty look.

Welcomed comfort
We booked at the last minute after our original hotel informed us at check in that we could not park our small camper trailer in their too small lot. Courtyard was very accommodating. We had a quiet, comfortable room much appreciated after four nights of hot, humid camping at the Outer Banks of NC. Nice little bar in lobby. Breakfast options not great.

We were not aware that this room would not include a breakfast voucher. We’ve never stayed at a hotel where we have not had a free breakfast. The headboard on the bed was so old they took sheets to wrap around the headboard. The wallpaper behind the bed was peeling off everywhere.

The hotel feels like a motel. It’s dated and while you can tell they tried to refurbish it, it needs a redo. Dirty walls and carpet, shower curtain that doesn’t stay closed because the rod is breaking away from the wall because of water damage, sink that is clogged and doesn’t drain. The area also doesn’t feel safe since, as soon as we arrived, we got an alert on our phone that there was an active police incident. Keep driving

Overall the stay was nice. The location was perfect for where we needed to be. Starbucks coffee in the morning. My only complaint was that we were not notified at time of check in that we had to request housekeeping to come to our room. They put a little note (the size of a fortune cookie) in the envelope with the room key. I grabbed the key and threw the envelope in my purse, so I had no idea until I retuned in the evening to see no fresh towels and the room not made up. When I inquired they then explained that we had to request housekeeping and I can come down for fresh towels as there is no one who can deliver them to my room at the time. That annoyed me, but everything else was fine.

Room 207 had a dirty rag in the bathtub, smelled very musty (my wife ended buying a plug-in deodorizer), black particles spewing out of the air conditioner. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was very nice.

It is not worth paying over $150 for a nights stay
I booked two rooms. I asked for them to be next door. I was told it was not possible, but the couple shins me and teenage daughter were able to what I asked for. The hallways smelled like an ashtray with dirty carpets. Possibly due to the fact mostly all the rooms have balconies people smoke. The crown molding was molding and rusty around the sinks. Taking a shower was like taking a bath with mildew and cigarette burns on the tub.

The elevators didn't work to the 4th floor, the ceiling in the pool was leaking and looked like it was about to fall apart, we needed extra towels and told us it would be an hour before any were available. For the price we paid we DID NOT get our money's worth, Very disspointed as this was supposed to be a mini vacation for my familiy since we play travel softball and are constantly on the go for our weekends. My daughter was so excited about the pool and refused to get in b/c of the conditions.

Underwhelmed. The rug seemed damp upon coming in but it might have been because the ac was not running. Breakfast was not even worth my time. The shower stall was not really clean. The water temperature was either ice cold or scalding. Nothing in between. I told the staff upon leaving. The bed was comfortable and the coffee was hot. It was an ok place for one night.

We didn't like the lack of service and offerings for breakfast. No one was around to make coffee. No decaf. That was a huge disappointment for us. If you're not going to serve breakfast then give a discounted rate.

Disgusting motel quality. Walls are paper thin. I awoke this morning to the sound of my neighbor urinating and then thought no that cannot be, but once I heard the toilet flush, that was confirmed. I had read a few bad reviews but thought it would be fine for its purpose (one night on the way to NY from FL). Was not fine. One elevator was busted and door would not open or close properly. Marriott should be ashamed to offer this hotel. And mask policy NOT enforced. Last night tons of guests were hanging out in lobby without a mask. I just hope we do not get Covid from this disgusting place.

This was hands down the worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed at. First, we were originally put in the wrong type of room. Thankfully, the front desk staff was very friendly, and she switched us to a correct room right away. As we were unlocking the door to the new room, we noticed it looked like someone had tried to break into the room—there were large gashes and scratches around the lock. I immediately felt unsafe, but we figured we’d already changed rooms, so we would just deal with it for the night. We settled into the room, and unfortunately, it was the most uncomfortable bed and flat pillows of any hotel I’ve stayed at. But again, we decided to just deal with it. As we started getting ready to go to sleep, a huge room party started happening down the hall from us. People were yelling, running up and down the hallway, and music was bumping so loud our room was shaking. I called down to the front desk, let them know about the party, and after 30 min or so, nothing had changed. We finally called down again and asked to be switched to another floor. Again, the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helped us out, but it was the third room of the night, so it was just a frustrating situation made worse by the fact that we didn’t sleep well because the bed was so uncomfortable. Honestly, if you have to stay in this area, drive west and stay somewhere further from the highway. We thought staying at the Marriott—the nicest hotel in this area—would be safe, but it wasn’t.

It was a Great Hotel for Hubby and Me. We celebrated our Anniversary after 26 yrs and The Marriott was Beautiful. The Customer Service from the check in and out was Exceptional.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. I wouldn’t have any complaints except unfortunately, I didn’t get much sleep because the sports bar located across the street played its music so loudly until about 1 a.m., I could even make out the songs that were being played. It felt like a concert. If you’re going to stay here, maybe call and request a room on the back side of the hotel unless you’re into hearing obnoxious bar music all night.

I was exhausted from driving all day. It was a quick check in. The employee was so kind and efficient and got me to my room quickly. The shower was powerful and the water was hot the bed was comfortable and the TV was large. The option of having Netflix or Hulu made it a great stay.

The rooms were updated and clean. Checkin and out was fairly easy as well. However, the beds were terrible. When you laid in the mattress it sunk in all the way to the box spring. It was like sleeping on a board. None of us slept well and woke up extremely sore. The pullout sofa bed was horrible too. The rail went straight into your back and it could maybe fit a small child. The air quality in the rooms was also deplorable. Our entire softball team stayed there and every single person woke up coughing and with sore throats. If you held a light to the air conditioning unit you could see dust and mold particles just pouring out of it. One parent actually had to go sleep in his truck it was so bad. While the rooms appeared to be clean and updated and the hotel as a whole was also clean, they really need to address the air issue as well as replace the mattresses. Based on that alone I don’t think we will be staying there again.
