I love it here
I stay here 2-3 times a year. I love it ! It’s not your 5 star hotel but the staff is friendly and it has what you need. I would like a continental breakfast but you get what you pay for. I will stay here again in July.

My first room smelled like smoke and did not match my booking. The second room had roaches. The pools didn't work, neither did the bat or cafe. Only the arcade which was useless to us. Then to top it off house keeping knocked on our door one hour earlier than checkout asking us to leave. All of this was reported and I was refunded. I normally have a decent to good experience here but this stay was horrible.

I was upset about the fact neither pools were open and that there was a roach in the bathroom and when we were about to leave my friend had a bed buf on them and there was stains on the sheets and hair.

Booked at this hotel primarily for my grands to enjoy an indoor pool. Indoor pool was not available.
Arcade room didn't have working coin exchange machine. My grands had ver little entertainment on sight because the weather was somewhat bad

Receptionists are unprofessional and rude, manager completely ignores guest needs. Unapologetic behavior. Only Housekeeping manager did a great job with the problem with our room. Besides that, is a waste of money. Never again.

Need New Cleaning Staff or get sued.
The hotel itself is ok. The problem is with the cleaning crew. You can absolutely tell that the cleaning crew does not clean properly. It’s says it as you look into the shower with the showers dirty. They should invest in better cleaning chemicals to assure a white shower and clean with no germs.
Also, I am traumatized by the fact that I always bring my own wash cloths and towels. This one time I’m rushing and decided to use the hotel towels. I took a good and long shower, I gets out and dries off. As I am drying off I notice the towel is a dirty. I had to think twice as I knew I washed well and I mean very well. So, I get another towel and wiped myself again to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. Well long behold, I wasn’t the towel that I used was in fact a new towel under the sink that wasn’t touched. The cleaning people didn’t check the towels in which the refolded a dirty towel and placed it back under the sink. Needless to say I had to get back into the shower to wash off whoever dirt o just applied to my already cleaned body. I just re showered and used my very own towels and wash cloths as I always do when I travel just to be on the safe side.

Hotel pool was under construction and the indoor pool that was supposed to be heated was empty and later on when they fill it up was so cold, room wasn't clean ,air/heater was filthy and terrace door didn't lock,otherwise staff was nice and helpful in everything else.

Overall room was clean for the most part but basically all the amenities where under construction or not working elevators are very weird also you can hit the but to go down and end up going up and down a few times before actually going all the way down also when I called after reservations to inquire about extra packages they offer never received a call or email back or to me informed that a fraternity was hosting an event there and it was not peaceful at all having college kids yelling off there balconies setting off illegal fireworks scaring us half to death in our sleeps had I been informed I might have chosen a different hotel because overall I was not happy for how much I spent to basically not be able to do anything or even sleep peacefully

I liked it there. Price was good. Parking was good. Right next to beach. I wish they had a Continental breakfast or at least coffee (vs the room coffee).
The woman who checked me in was great. Do not know her name though.

Pool was closed which was the main reason we chose the property. We purchased ocean front and was given a side room instead with a limited view of the hotel next door. No dining onsite as was listed. Outside was a construction site that had been postponed by the city for whatever reason. No outdoor pool to be seen. I’m not sure what cleaner they use but it wreaked of carcass. Our room smelled so bad. I wanted so bad to demand a refund but we had to have somewhere to stay for my daughters cheer comp. I will say, the employees were very nice at least. Good luck.

I arrived to find only one person working the check in with several people waiting. After getting my room I was frustrated and left the hotel to meet with friends. When I returned I started to settle into the room and discovered that it was disgustingly dirty. The bathroom had small black curly hairs all over it. The "clean" towels also contained dirt. I saw a small roach in the shower. And if that was not enough, maintenance tried to enter the room with me inside without checking to see if it was occupied. The latch was the only thing that kept them out. I was only staying one night so I suffered through to the next morning. I left without complaining because I felt I may loose my temper due to the lack of sleep. Do yourself a favor (STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL)

Room 320 had a couple spots were the paint was chipping the closet was dirty, and the shower wouldn’t stay closed. I paid for a kitchen with an oven in my room and got a room with just a fridge and a microwave.

Never Again!
The smell of marijuana was prevalent all through the halls, even on the balcony! I thought this was a No Smoking establishment! No maid service! Hallways were dirty! Carpet was filthy! Brochure's for pizza delivery was laying in hallway for 11 days and never picked up! No working ice Machine! Our room was never vacuumed, swept or mopped in 11 days! I reserved a King Size bed and received 2 Queen Size beds. Had to change rooms so worrisome!

The room had ROACHES!!!!
We had a kitchenette that didnt work. Microwave didnt work. Fridge shut off and on. Called front desk and they desk and they never came to fix or offer to change rooms due to Roaches and non working items.

Sun N Sand avoid it and go somewhere else
First we where told the room we rented was not available, so they gave us another room. The room was terrible half the power outlets and lights did not work, the TV in the main room didn't work, phone, alarm clock, stovetop and one heating unit also did not work.The room should have been cleaned better the vents in bathroom where totally covered in dust and dirt and the vents in the heating unit also needed to be cleaned. Their was dried paint all of the the floor and breaker box was open and said the one breaker was bad, but they still rented it out. Maids left trash and dirty laundry in front of our room everyday. Only one way in and out of the parking deck which was poorly light so be careful. They emailed asked about my stay and I responded but never heard back, also told staff when I was leaving and they promised the manager would call me never heard back from them.

The hotel is very old, and is literally you get what you pay for. The room I was in it was horrible! Curtains had wholes, roaches on the wall, did not have hangers, phone in the room, the shower handle broke soon as I started the water. The water was leaking from the shower to the entire bathroom floor. We did complain soon as we arrived but the hotel was completely booked so they couldn’t transfer us to another room. They did have us another room the next day with it was the same room but it was better but unfortunately we left the following morning. We won’t definitely not coming back again. I even canceled the reservation I made for February because is not worth it. The indoor pool is very old, water cloudy as well. The experience it wasn’t good at all!

Place needs to be renovated looks like they did the landlord special and painted over everything. They masked the smell of weed and nicotine with somehow worst smelling fragrance. Nothing was opened as advertised. No comforter just a sheet and tiny cover.

When we booked it said breakfast was included. The hotel does not have a kitchen until April.

Room was great, Hotels.com booking was horrible.
I would give the hotel 5 star for the the room and location. However hotels.com didn't disclose there was a resort fee on the hotel's fine print OR the booking confirmation. Instead of using Expedia to complete the booking, they used third party "Hotel's beds" which doesn't cover the resort fee. Having just drove 20 hours, had to spend 1 hour on call with hotels.com. Eventually they accepted the error and asked me to pay the resort fee of USD$27.12 and they would give me credit for future use. Agent said it was successfully applied to my account. However, after checking all they did is added additional night to my rewards night for the value of USD $37.68. As you only get 10% of a night as "free night" credit, that only gives me USD $3.76. Now I need to spend another hour on call and hope they will resolve the issue. The only reason I booked this hotel was that there was no resort fee. But it was a big lie!

VERY POOR TREATMENT.....NOT RECOMMENDED!
AN UNWELCOMING AND INCOMPETENT STAFF RUINED MY VACATION AND CREATED A DOMINO AFFECT WHICH HURT A NUMBER OF LOCAL BUSINESSES. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. NOT EXACTLY SURE WHY THEY CONTINUE TO USE HOTELS.COM BECAUSE THEY EXPRESSED THERE TOTAL AND UTTER DISDAIN OF THE COMPANY.

Very quiet and clean
It was off season so very quiet. The front desk staff upgraded us to oceanfront and we loved our view. The room was very clean but we could have used a blanket on the bed (our fault we should have asked). We tried 2 separate ice machines on 2 floors and none worked.

Rooms were ok for the price. Construction noise during the day. Several fixtures did not work, some were rusty. Sliding door did not lock. Overall for the price it was not terrible

Parking deck was contaminated with trash and standing water. Floors in the elevators were cracked and popping up, which was a safety issue. In the room the safe didn't work, the sliding door didn't lock (broken). The phone in the room didn't work (when I asked about the phone not working I was told by the front desk just to use my cell phone. Not enough lighting in the room considering it had a kitchenette in it (unable to use due to poor lighting, some lights not even working). Elevator in parking deck wasn't working. Drilling and hammering going on at the crack of dawn, making it difficult to sleep in.

When we arrived, our check-in was delayed due to some type of system glitch. The front desk manager was extremely helpful in working that issue out. When we got to our room, we noticed that the curtain was broken and there was a foreign substance on the window. The hotel looks older so I just blamed it on time. The bathroom looked newly renovated, so that was nice. My daughter goes to turn the T.V. on, and the remote doesn't work. Come to find out, the batteries were leaking acid into the remote. One of the lamps were missing a bulb so we had limited lighting in the room. In the middle of the night, I was woken by my child to point out the bug in the bathroom. Woke up the next morning to news that my brother's car had been broken into in the garage. He attempted to get the video footage for the police and was told that the cameras in the garage don't work. As they were returning to their room, the door was stuck and would not open. It took maintenance about an hour to get into the room. We didn't really feel safe after that, so we left a day early. The room wasn't the worst, but I would suggest ensuring that the amenities in the room work before placing guests. We will not be staying at this proprty again.

The shower was nice but not nice enough for us to stay the whole 3 days. We left after the first night and only because we got in too late to find another place to stay. The staff was rude at check in. The halls and elevators smelled like weed. The phone in the room was broken and not even plugged in. Our balcony door didn’t lock. Definitely wouldn’t go there ever again.

There were property was hosting 3 sorority and fraternity parties . It was loud ,dirty and only 1 of 4 elevators were working. We ended up leaving and having to get another hotel.

Horrible. College kids completely took over the hotel without regard for other guest. The bathroom in my room wasn't clean and you could definitely tell house keeping didn't bother cleaning the toilet. The stairway in the building was littered with used drug needles.

I liked the the location with its very near the ocean.
I don't like the way they treated me by canceling the full payed stay when I was on my way driving from MA and very tired. I had to pay again and pay $20 expensive from the first, so got a other room, when I tried to open the door I realize there was with a guess in the room. they moved me to a $20 less and never gave me the $20 back.
so I never got back the full payment made the first time.
I only had a problem during this stay and I won't even mention that the room was very dirty, in addition to the dust, I found dry chicken bones under the trundle bed, there was a pillow missing and it was also very dirty.

Oceanfront hotel with a seven story parking garage. I had an oceanfront room for two nights in October. Plenty of room since the season is over. Room was clean with a refrigerator and microwave (did not use) and a recently updated bathroom. Although a lot of people are out walking know that there are really no restaurants except Damon’s within walking distance.

We needed a get away. We had heard tons of negativity about Myrtle beach but we were so glad we came and found out for ourself. Check in was easy and when we got to our room I had booked a room without a balcony. Lady at desk explained to me what to look for when booking and allowed us to pay the difference and move to a room with a balcony. We had the best time. We rested and relaxed and we will be returning. When reading these reviews go find out for yourself. We were pleasantly surprised.

This is an older hotel, and needs A LOT of work. The pool area needs some updates, the elevators need a good cleaning, paint is needed everywhere.
Saying that, this is the 3rd time I have stayed here. The ocean front room was newly remodeled, a full size stand up shower, rainfall shower-head, soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower, Large updated mirrors and sink area. There was a brand new full-size refrigerator, two queen beds, they were very comfortable, a small table with two chairs, a large TV.
Some additional work is definitely needed.
The balcony chairs need to be replaced, the vents in the bathroom and the air-conditioning unit need to be cleaned out, the lights in the sleeping area and the lampshades need replacing, the room phone was disgusting, I actually unplugged it and stuck it in the drawer. Overall, most of these things can be fixed with no problem with minimal staffing and resources.
The staff, are wonderful, they go above and beyond to see if they can do anything for you and always willing to help. They have a nice arcade, with lots of games, they have a little convenience area with snacks, beach toys, drinks, etc., very easy to use you just scan your own items insert your credit card and off you go. Very simple never seen that in a hotel but I loved it. Prices are comparable, a 20 ounce soda was $2.49, A large bag of combos was around $3.50.
Overall, some cleaning, and maintenance would definitely help things out.

The view from the deck in the back was stunning. I loved the easy access to the beach. Having an ocean view from the pool area without having dunes blocking it was wonderful. The staff were all very nice. The room itself was ok. I liked the updated bathroom. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows but the blanket was just a slightly thicker sheet and could use a little nicer blanket. The hallways were filthy and weren’t vacuumed once the 4 days I was there (I know this because the same giant water bug laid in the middle of the floor everyday). None of the outside showers worked. You could tell they have tried to do some updates but whoever done the work did a terrible job, receptacles and speakers were painted over, cuts around the shower handle were too big, the lamps in the room were rusted. This place has so much potential with a little TLC. Overall I loved it because of the views and the out back area.

Not a good birthday
The pictures don't look like the hotel I was supposed to get a room and ocean view and I didn't. Also my balcony door wouldn't lock and my phone didn't work. The only good thing about it was it was on the ocean it wasn't a good birthday for me!!

I never leave a review but I must after this weekend stay. There are definitely roaches in the hotel as I discovered more than one in my room. I have never stayed in a hotel where this has been the issue. Very disgusted and just unbelievable. Stay at your own risk!
