Beautiful resort, great beach access. We have stayed for 1 night with our dog on Dec 22nd. Pools are clean and landscaping so pretty. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.
Staff super friendly and hotel smells heavenly. We will be back.

We stayed for two nights and were not be ready to move in between to another room but the one we got was noisy. Not only that but some guests just could not smoke their joint on the beach and there was a frequently used service door right next to us and opening/ closing makes you fall out of your bed.

This resort was wonderful, very beautiful and ocean access and beach was amazing!
Most all of the staff was absolutely amazing.
Of course everything is overpriced, sad but true it is kinda to be accepted.
Our stay was late Oct., not sure I would want to go any other time of year it was so beautiful.

It is a beautiful resort with easy beach access. The self parking was not very convenient - they kept blocking off sections close to hotel for special events. We guests were paying a hefty price to stay there too!

A bit deceitful when checking in at front desk. Quality of room (2nd floor) was not great for $364 per night. Then learned renovations all complete on all other floors. Thus, they give the worst rooms to Expedia customers.
Do Not Disturb sign on door means nothing. Walked right in on my wife while showering (not bathroom, just room, phew), yes!
Brittany at pool bar and Dante at Carolina Room bar were very professional and provided great service. These two are their star team members.
Lastly, go to Hudson’s! Great seafood restaurant nearby.

Everything was good except the valet service was non-existent and when someone was there, very slow. I would have missed my flight if I had not parked illegally the night before I left. There many times the front desk was empty...kind of like a ghost town as far as staff is concerned.

Wonderful quiet resort, checkin was great, friendly staff. The only problem was with the outdoor bar right outside the rooms. A group of business people were drinking and being very loud. Loud enough that we could hear them over tv with door closed. Bar was to close at 10 , at 10 we saw staff give them more drinks. At 10:30 we called desk to let them know if noise. Told security would go, nope. Called again, told same . Desk then called us, told us bar wouldn’t close until 12. Finally manager got on and apologized and said she would go . She did go and speak to staff. Group finally left over 11. We were told it wouldn’t happen again. Next night same thing, different business people. This was during week after Labor Day. I can’t imagine how loud it gets during summer. Bar is open to all ocean view rooms. Maid service didn’t come every day.

Our ocean view room could barely see the ocean. And $50 per night resort fee for not anything special. Large part of their private beach was covered in ocean seaweed/sticks.

Simply not Marriott Standards
Overall the physical property is good. However, that does not make up for being short staffed, employing staff who have no sense of urgency or desire to work and an overall sense of just not caring. Having stayed in Marriott properties all over the world and having experienced fantastic service in those properties it was beyond disappointing to see that the local management team is either completely unaware or just doesn’t care. Either way it’s not the Marriott winning formula that most people have come to expect.

When booking there needs to be an option for ocean front not just ocean view because that’s supposedly very different to the hotel. Overall I was able to check in early and have late check out that’s why it was good.

The Westin Hilton Head Resort is a wonderful place to vacation as a couple or with a family. The property is clean, modern, and the staff is accommodating. The views from the room are great that we stayed in and the poolside drinks are amazing. The resort is perfectly located steps away from the ocean in Hilton Head and it always seems private to me…nestled away from many of the other hotels but convenient enough to travel to all the local shopping and restaurants we like. I find it to be a relaxing trip for a quick weekend getaway. The Westin has made wonderful memories for our family throughout the years and I’ve recommended this resort to many friends who have felt the same way.

He hotel was very nice, clean and quiet in the evening hours. Balcony was wonderful. Very close to the beach and dinning experience was great.
Only thing - There wasn’t enough drawers to put all our clothes away in the room (two drawers). We had to keep most of our clothes in our suitcases.

I was booked a room with an ocean view and I got a room facing the dog park. The hallway leading to my room smelled like mildew and old mop water. The ice machine was out of order our entire stay.

When we first checked in, we were told that a credit card would be required, even though I had prepaid for our accommodations prior to our arrival, this requirement was not mentioned in any information on Hotels.com or on the paypal.com websites. Also, we paid over almost 600.00 for 3 adults, but was told that the free breakfast only covered 2 adults and extra adults would be an additional charge, kids were free. This did not set well with me, because a free breakfast should be just that, free, the number of adults should not have been a factor, since we registered as 3 adults at check-in.

Disappointing management
I had prepaid for the trip and their team, in error, held the full amount (again) for room and tax. After countless phone calls and emails - a week after my stay I still have not received the funds back in my account that they held in error. Very frustrating and inexperienced team handling check in. They also gave my son keys to the room when he walked up to the counter and said his key didn’t work. He presented no identification as he’s 13 years old, he simply said the room number and keys were given to him.

The staff was outstanding. The property is in need of some renovation. Other than breakfast, the dining options are lousy. We ate dinner at the hotel the first night then ate off property every other night. The food is expensive and not every good. On check in the front desk staff offers to move you to a better room for an up charge. This felt a little scammy.

A great weekend get away or a great place to relax for a week. Very clean and rooms where quite. We had a fantastic veiw of the pool and Ocean.

This is an excellent hotel with 3 pools, a hot tub, a full service spa, four restaurants, and beach access. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful. I stayed in the Carolina Suite, which was lovely, spacious, and comfortable.
The food is good, albeit expensive, but there is a coffee and sandwich carry out shop in the lobby, with very good sandwiches and salads for breakfast and lunch. The room service was quick, hot, and delivered by wonderful staff.
My only complaint is that it is challenging to get to the pool area if you are mobility challenged, as the only way down there is by stairs. Also, I had a very difficult time getting in and out of the bathtub/shower, as the tub walls are high, and the tub floor is low. There was no separate shower in the suite, and I needed to drag a chair into the bathroom to provide something to hold onto so I could get in and out of the shower. It’s a beautiful, but potentially dangerous, set up.
All in all, I would definitely return, but would make sure my room had a separate shower.

If you enjoy getting up early morning to secure a seat at the pool, facilities that have seen better days, super slow service and mediocre food then this is the hotel for you. On the bright side, the location right on the beach is great.

Likes; beautiful resort and beach which is private. Dining options good enough to not have to leave (shrimp and grits were outstanding) Heated pools but not too hot. Very attentive staff, ie; nice getting a cold towel (face),served to me while sitting poolside. Very nice room with balcony and ocean view (see dislikes for additional) Live music while sitting at outside bar was really good.
Dislikes; The room was on the second floor with balcony and ocean view. We were on the second floor. The view is limited. I recommend trying to get a higher floor. Unfortunately it's impossible to get an actual person or reach the front desk when booking.
My wife got the airline chicken for dinner and it was way too salty.
Overall; highly recommend, not cheap, I saved for this and will take a while to pay for. But worth it

This is a hotel, not a resort. Visited over a holiday weekend that happened to have bad weather, which is not their fault. However, the hotel was not accommodative at all to guests. There was a lot of complaining among the guests. The hotel nickels & dimes for everything, and misrepresents its amenities as things like the beach access is run by another company charging $45/day for rickety beach chairs. First & last time visiting Hilton Head after this experience.

Wonderful!! We only stayed here two nights and wish we were able to stay longer. The staff was wonderful and made the check in process a breeze. And the room was far better than we expected. We loved all of the on-site amenities and the spacious beach. The continental breakfast was great- more than enough food options and great service. We will definitely be returning.

Considering that the property has high ratings in some standards, thee upgrades in some suites that are comparably different than others at the same price pointe is totally unfair, my family was having a celebration and rented multiple rooms , one side of my family had newly decorated rooms. nice bright and fresh. our room had stains on the carpet, the patio doors were not cleaned and the sofabed was worn and terribly uncomfortable.

Hotel was just ok, we expected more for a resort and the price. Room was a pet room and not very clean and we have allergies. Two weddings made the hotel full and guests were running up and down halls, shouting until 5 am or so. The resort fee doesn’t include much besides internet and the shuttle, which you need if you plan to go anywhere. Bikes for rent are on property but they are very expensive.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The resort was very safe and clean. The housekeeping staff was very nice and helpful. The person I checked in with was not very personable. There was a mix up with check in and check out dates. He was accommodating only after I showed him my text confirmation. He ran my debit card and stated that it "didn't take"! I had to show him with my mobile banking app that it did go through. He had us checking in on the previous day which was not accurate and then at 5:15 the next day said that our room wasn't ready and that he would call me when it was. He called about 15 minutes later and was not at the desk with our cards when we went to pick them up. The young woman at the desk was very nice and got us our keys. The rest of the time was great and the rest of the staff was pleasant.

Very disappointing stay especially for the high price point. Walls are paper thin, toilet flushing is similar to a tsunami sound, rooms are just OK. Advertised as a “View Room” but there was no view. Hair dryer barely worked. Not enough people manning the Check-In Desk so the arrival and departure process takes forever.
I’m a longtime Marriott frequent stay person (Gold level) and I feel that this property needs attention. The ONLY reason to stay here is because it’s Hilton Head and the property has a great oceanfront location. If you’re seeking something beyond JUST the location you should probably look elsewhere. Personally, I would never book here again.

The hotel is in a great location on the beach. The walls in the room are extremely thin - you can hear people in the rooms next to you.

Excellent property, beautiful grounds. Good dining, multiple pools, ocean so near, beach was lovely, parking was easy.
Room cleaning sporadic, twice over 5 day stay. (Resulting in no coffee, few towels, smelly room, garbage pile-ups…) needed bank of drawers to put away clothing. Resulting in 4 suitcases spread open for entire holiday. Crib was requested but never showed up. Luckily mom had brought a pack-n-play! Travelling with 2 small children so needed microwave, table and chairs they could sit at for snacks. Fire alarm went off disrupting babies nap, we rushed down to basement where we were told it was just a drill-“ didn’t we get the notice?”.

The property was keep up to part but accommodations were not explained. I was checked in by a young man who could not speak English. The young man did not advise me of the accommodation and when asked he became angry. The resort was clean and the service beyond the check-in was excellent.

It’s a beautiful property. Well maintained and very clean! The location is awesome as well. There was a problem at check-in. The email we got said it was at 3p however when we arrived they told us that was wrong, it was 4p and the room was not even ready then. We didn’t end up getting in until 4:45 and there was no apology at all. Additionally there was construction going on, so we would often here drilling and hammering. Also no mention or explanation of this and zero apology for the inconvenience. They could work on their service levels here for sure. They certainly don’t go out of their way to be friendly when you walk around the hotel and I overheard the valet actually arguing with another guest. Not a great experience for the level of hotel.

You have to be kidding me!!
This was planned as a very special week end. We have not been able to get away for almost 3 years. My wife is caregiver for her 95 year old mother. She has not been able to leave her for a very long time. Anyway, I made reservations for an ocean view room. When you walked out on the balcony, you were facing the hotel next to us, with the trees, we had a very small glimpse at the beach and it was very far off. Unbelievable!!!! $450 a night and this is what we got, the back side of the property!! Nice hotel, But I could have paid half and had a nicer room and maybe a better view! No telling how long it will be before we have the chance to do this again. I made the best of it for my wife and she was really appreciative. But it was so disappointing. They need to be more hones on thier marketing!
