The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the craziness of Waikiki Beach. We wanted a quieter areal and the location is directly across from an amazing park. The hotel’s beach was quiet and perfect. Having a beached seal was great to watch. The Lotus needs to replace its beach chairs. The hotel is somewhat dated but the staff is wonderful. Great quiet location, beautiful park, safe to walk day or night. Lovely experience.

The view at this property is stunning.
When we arrived, the concierge checked us in, offered a welcome beverage and shared that they had downgraded our room. To make up for it, they waived the hotel fees roughly $35/day. My husband and I would have preferred a phone call in advance to share that our preferred room was not available which was kind of frustrating.
Otherwise, the front desk greets you every time you enter the lobby. They have chairs and towels for the beach. The beach on site is pretty small, but Waikiki is a 15 minute walk. There are plenty of places nearby to walk and enjoy including the zoo, aquarium and restaurants. On site laundry is free and was much appreciated!

The beautiful view from the two balconies of our room! You could see the ocean from one side and Diamond Head from the other side! The staff was very friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Park view was lovely, the room balcony was a good size.

This property is exactly what we were looking for. A fair price and within walking distance to Waikiki.
Fun perks like free wine hour each night, reusable water bottles, robes and slippers. The setting was nice with views of both Diamond Head and the ocean. We will definitely stay here again when we return!

Diamond Head, rainbows, what’s not to love
this beautiful gem of a hotel is in the quiet area of Waikiki in front of Kapiolani Park and white Diamond Head. Perfect location to get in and out quickly and not deal with the Waikiki traffic. The service was excellent from valet to front desk. Greeting with wine, a water bottle filler and lovely Hawaiian music made for a great first impression. Valley parking is easy and not crowded. Like the bigger hotels. How could you not love this place. I only complaint was in the room the phone charging outlets were not quite working. besides that inconvenience, a great beginning for our stay.

Loved it!!!
We loved our stay here!!! This boutique hotel meets the mark between comfort, convenience and far away enough from all the bustle yet close enough to walk to. Staff were wonderful!! Amazing service with a ton of support when we needed it.
Our view was gorgeous. December is the rainy season and we were able to hang out in our room’s balcony and still enjoy the view without getting wet.
Would definitely stay here again!
Only downside was getting takeout from the restaurant on site (Arden) as they don’t provide real cutlery nor the room has courtesy dining plates or so. Just go dine-in or go elsewhere instead. And check the amenities before booking, there’s no pool which is perfect for us, but if that’s important to you it might not hit the mark.
If you’re renting a car, parking is $40 per day, you might want to check the HUI app as they have cars on site which saves you the parking fee.

Although the hotel website stated that self parking option was available, when we checked in,the parking attendant said only valet parking was all.
The first room we were assigned smelled like a dirty locker room. The bathroom couiwas cracked and there holes in the upholstered chair.
We were allowed to switch to another room which was tolerably less smelly. It seemed like the linens smelled of body odor.
The bathroom sink drain smelled and the bathroom sink had a small crack.
The restaurant in the hotel is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
The hotel staff did not allow us a late check out of an hour and a half. That’s fine but they started badgering us 2 minutes after checkout time just as we were getting ready to leave. It take a while to get down to the lobby since they only have one small elevator which is shared by the maintenance staff.

Coming from a more commercial hotel in the heart of Waikiki, I was instantly impressed with the calm, zen & elegant vibe of The Lotus Hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend!

Cute hotel. Would stay again.
A cute, small hotel. Close to the beach but you have to walk around to get to the sand. Room was good, bed was comfortable, view from the balcony of Diamondhead was beautiful. It was quiet and didn’t hear neighbours or anything in the surrounding area.
Resort fee and parking fee are not cheap. I’m sure you could find Street parking but the valet was convenient.
Have bikes you can use for free to ride to Waikiki, takes just a couple of minutes, it’s a pretty ride. It’s also an approximate 10 minute walk to get to the hustle and bustle.
It’s nice that this hotel is away from the chaos and across from the park, a very active area with lots of people running and walking and exercising. I love it.

We had a great stay at the Lotus at Diamondhead the first week of October. Very convenient to check out beach chairs and towels at the front desk. The elevator was a bit slow but the staff was excellent. Our room was well kept every day. Great view of Diamondhead from our balcony. We would stay again and recommend to others.

I like this little hotel. Eat customer service and close to the strip, but far enough away to not get caught in the busy traffic. I didn’t like that the pricing posted with Expedia was incorrect from what I had to pay… parking was not free or included in the amenities fee. I ended up paying $40/day for parking and $20/day for amenities fee.

The Lotus is located at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki beach. It has a more laid back vibe than the fancier hotels at the other end. The staff was great. The views from the rooms were spectacular looking at the ocean and the mountain. Nice to have a balcony. The hotel has old world charm but it’s not fancy. There is only one elevator but there are only 5 rooms on each floor so it was not a problem. The room was comfortable and modern enough. No breakfast available which would have been nice to have. We walked about 15 minutes to a breakfast restaurant. The beach is crowded on the weekend but we enjoyed watching all the activity. We’d stay here again.

The Lotus at Diamond Head is absolutely wonderful. It’s at a premium location with spectacular views of Diamond Head and the ocean. It’s in a lovely area with a quiet neighborhood close to parks, aquarium and the zoo. Walking distance to Waikiki strip and local cafes and shopping make it convenient and away from all of the busy traffic. Most importantly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is a five star rating for recommendations and accommodation to their guests. I will definitely book my next stay with them again.

The best thing about this property is the location is quiet and 20-25 min walk from the hustle-bustle of Waikiki. There is also free outdoor parking which is 20 feet from the lobby. But there are a lot of downsides. The hotel itself is very old and honestly needs to be torn down and rebuilt. There is ONE creaky old elevator for 12 stories of guest rooms including for maintenance to use so it takes forever. The walls are very thin. This is worsened by the adjoining room door which makes it even louder. There is also a $29/night amenity fee which is absurd as there are no amenities! I would not stay here again until this property is re-done. The time is past.

I am pleased to know about this hotel now.
Smaller than all the larger resort hotels. Which is why I chose to book here. No pool and we would not have used one. Close enough to Waikiki 1.2 miles of a walk.

We absolutely loved our stay! From the welcoming to check out. We were in Hawaii for 10’days checking in and out of hotels and this one was our absolute favorite. Special shout out to Cody! His customer service is SUPERB! Along with all the front desk staff and housekeeping cleaned our room daily, leaving it perfect for us upon our return! Highly recommend!

My daughter and I stayed here for a few days and while the staff was amazing and extremely helpful and sweet, there were quite a few misleading descriptions when I booked the hotel. I booked an “ocean view room” with a “king or 2 queen bed room”. They assured me we would have 2 queen beds. Unfortunately, When we arrived, they told us that the room we had was changed to a king bed if we wanted the ocean view, but that they could bring in a “roll away bed” that was supposedly super comfortable (which it was NOT). When we got to the room, we were further disappointed to find that the ocean view room was a sliver view of the ocean, between the gap of the 2 hotels in front of us. We made the best of it, but will probably never stay here again. It didn’t have a pool or a gym but luckily they do give you access to 4 bikes to rent, tennis rackets and beach chairs and beach towels.

Lotus Honolulu's location offers a balance between being within a few minutes of all that Waikiki has to offer and a quiet haven near the zoo and next to Diamond Head. The hotel restaurant, tbd, was a real find, with delicious small plates, perfect for sharing. Staff throughout are friendly and welcoming.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Lotus. Friendly staff, comfortably clean room with many amenities. The location is near a beautiful park and a short walk to the beach, zoo and aquarium. We specifically chose this hotel because it was away from the Waikiki crowds of tourists. We live on the Big Island so wanted to be near the quieter side of Wakiki. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Christinanna for arranging the taxi for our morning appointment.

This hotel exceeded expectations and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I would hire that team in a heartbeat. The entire vibe of the hotel is amazing, down to the shampoo in the bathroom! Clean, gorgeous, comfortable, quiet, and I loved grabbing a chair and towel to go to the beach a short distance away.

Went there for our honeymoon. Booked a high floor ocean view. We were offered the top floor (12th) with 2 double beds. Hardly the king bed we were expecting. We were forced to take the 9th floor with a king and not offered any discount or refund. To top it off, they did not have a crib available for our 2 year old the first night we were there so enjoyed our first night of our honeymoon with 3 in our bed. They are unwilling to compromise and offer little assistance. Do not stay here.

Loved this beautiful boutique hotel, which was reasonably priced! Location near Diamond Head was wonderful. We rode the free bikes into town for breakfast, surfing and sightseeing. Loved the room itself and how well appointed it was with excellent coffee, lovely soaps and shampoos. Mattresses, pillows and sheets were excellent! Our view of Diamond head was extraordinary. And finally, the staff was so kind in the Hawaii spirit of Mahalo. Highly recommend.

Its a Motel.
Not as advertised. This appears to be a converted motel crammed amongst others in a parking lot. They had a fabulous designer give it a high end feel in the lobby but the infrastructure and rooms feel like a worn down motel. Not a 4star hotel compared to the others we stayed in, for a similar price, on Waikiki. We were greeted by a lizard on the wall in our room. People are pleasant, just not as advertised.

Location. It was a bit off the main drag of Waikiki, but an easy walk if we wanted to go. Plus, there was bus #20 that took us into town and even to the USS Arizona for $3 or $1.25 for seniors. We ha a little beach that we could access by just walking around the building. We had a great view of Diamondhead and a partial ocean view. We enjoyed our stay.

The location is perfect if you eant to be within walking to distance of beaches and fun but far enough away for peace and quite! Rooms were very nice! View of Diamondhead and beach was beautiful! The only negative would be I ask several times to be put on a high floor and we got 4. Other than that it was amazing. They had awesome beach chairs, towels and bikes you could borrow! I would say this place is a hidden gem! Staff was amazing as well!!

Amazing hotel
It’s great place to stay for the price. I enjoyed it being slightly away from where most hotels are located, it was peacefully and quiet but it’s not too far away it’s walkable to many places. Also they provide beach towels and chairs at no additional cost, so that was amazing perk. Our room was ocean view. I will definitely consider this on my next stay. The staff is amazing!

Great but disappointing
The staff is amazing and is the main highlight of the hotel. The hotel pictures posted does not reflect the true view. It is 2 other hotels in front of the beach view. Not a direct private beach. Yes the view of diamond head is amazing but was expecting a walk out and 60steps to the beach not a partial beach that has a restaurant behind you. Hotel interior was dated and due for a upgrade to hold the 4.5 star rating. Overall great experience but not up to par for what was shown in photos.

Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Lotus Hotel!! The staff was courteous, accommodating, and attentive! We especially want to thank the Manager Melissa and Reception Christiann for making our stay enjoyable and memorable! We stayed in the penthouse suite and woke to stunning views and Hawaiian hospitality! Mahalo to ALL the staff, we look forward to returning soon!

Nice weekend near Waikiki
Location is nicely outside Waikiki, which is usually loud and too crowded. Close to the beach, on the quieter side. Enjoyed riding the provided bicycles around town and exploring. Room was cool and comfortable. Missed the free wine session due to another dinner reservation we already had booked.

No direct ocean view from room because of other buildings which felt a bit misleading at booking, but nice views of diamond head. The room walls must be very thin, could hear neighbours every time. One lift serving 12 floors which was a little irritating. Room was spacious and clean. Quite a walk to Waikiki. Free use of beach chairs and towels and parking which was good

Excellent location with good restaurants and cafes nearby, and free onsite parking a bonus, after spending USD23 per 24 hours at one parking building and USD38 per 24 hours at another hotel in the CBD. About 5 minutes drive from Waikiki CBD shopping. Great outlook of Diamond Head and partial sea view. Comfortable bed, and quiet air con. We moved out of a hotel because of noisy aircon, moving to the Lotus.

The Lotus is an excellent place to stay if you want to be within walking distance of Waikiki without being in the middle of the shopping mall that Waikiki has become. The property sits at the foot of Diamond Head and offers easy walks to the Diamond Head lookout and around its base. The room was exceptional, and the staff friendly.
