This hotel is good for the location. Rooms not the more updated but it's great for a quick trip for a few days. The only thing I recommend is not to use such bright lights in the room. It's like being in a hospital and had to put towels over them to make it dimmer. No fluorescent lights please.

I would use them again. They were clean, centrally located if you use the subway, all around good. My only complaint was a slight amount of rust in the tub near the drain and slightly worn lobby.

The bathroom bathtubs having leaks going to hallway to the room the front desk approached me to transfer the room but i decided not to because all my stuff are out so hopefully next time they can fixed this matter all the staff are nice and friendly the area is near the bars 🚊 shopping center etc

1/28 @ 10pm. The front desk guy was giving attitude about uber eats delivery that I should have gave my name and room number. I was supposed to meet the delivery guy at the door but he was late for an hour so i fell a sleep. I mean a polite and nicer approach would make a difference for a hotel customer. Good customer service. It’s disappointing. Im already upset with late delivery of my food and he is making it worse.

Easy Access To All
The location was great. Malibu Diner across the street was very good. Pizza, bodega, grocery market, restaurants, subway, all within easy walking distance any direction. The hotel was quaint, clean, beds were a bit hard, too hard for me. Room not too cramped. We had a very nice stay. Worked out perfectly since we were relocating student from one dorm to another. We would stay there again.

Even tho its advertised as "continental breakfast" its "complementary breakfast" which is only bread of two kinds, muffins and bagels, theres coffee, water and water with lemon slices (didnt taste like lemonade at all). The hair dryer in my room didnt work, the main light didnt work, had to use the bedside lamps, both the light in the bathroom and the one right at the entrance door would flicker when turned on, the AC unit is barely enough to heat up the room even though its not big. There was a vending machine out of order in the cafeteria, which was heated up with individual heaters, the cleaning lady was nice

Great Value for Money
Perfect hotel at a low cost. The hotel is a little dated but is very comfortable and in a great location. There is a Subway stop right outside the door, plenty of shops and restaurants and its a 20 minute walk from Times Square.
Staff were very friendly and helpful too. The breakfast is basic enough (Muffins and Bagels with teas and coffee) but for that price in NYC you simply cannot complain.

Due yourself and your family a favor. Stop looking and just book!!! Rooms are large, clean and affordable. Staff friendly and helpful. Coffee, bagels and muffins every morning. Close to many train stations and destinations. It’s everything you need to have a great time vacationing in NYC.

A family trip to NYC
Spacious room for a NYC hotel. We enjoyed the quiet neiborhood. The hotel is not too far from the flat iron building

We have been coming here for about 12 years now staying at least once a month. I think it’s easy for people to recognize some imperfections but we also have stayed at other hotels in NYC throughout the years. Just keep in mind people pay $4000/month for a studio apartment in the same area as Chelsea Savoy. Chelsea Savoy is really the best option while visiting NYC. Rooms are large-overall very quiet and comfortable. Close to many train stations and even able to walk to many destinations you might want to visit. They provide coffee, bagels and muffins every morning. Staff very friendly and efficient. Nightly rate is the best you are going to find. Yes it might be outdated but that’s why the rates are affordable. We love it here and will continue to stay here whenever we visit NYC. Just keep in mind you are visiting NYC not a luxury resort on an island somewhere!!!

Needs maintenance
The tub kept backing up and the sink was leaking. These should have been fixed before I checked in. Also they dont provide early check in. The bed was comfortable but pillows were not. Good location but would not stay here again.

Check in was less than desirable with a long wait time for unknown reasons, then being completely ignored for quite some time until a second desk person arrived and waved me back up to the desk. If I based my review solely on my check-in experience, I’d never return.

Overall, it was a decent property in a great location. The room was clean but the bed and pillows definitely need to be updated. The pillows were completely flat and the bed was lumpy. Breakfast in the morning also needs updating. A toaster for begals would have been a good thing to have as well.

Cheap hotel
Everything was fine for the price, it’s a budget hotel >AU $400 a night when we stayed. The staff were friendly. Good area, safe and convenient. Breakfast was appreciated and pastry items handed out, nice to see it managed and clean. Appreciated the cup of tea too.
There were issues which you expect at this price, reported to reception such as 3 lights not working, the fixed hairdryer plug didn’t reach the power point, etc. The bed was uncomfortable, a very thin mattress and noise the entire night from a club across the road.

I highly recommend The Chelsea Savoy hotel. I've been to NYC four times and I know I would stay there again. Great location, wakable from Time square and central park but much quieter and away from the crowds than the bigger hotels farther north in Manhattan. Very safe area even late at night and I also recommend Chelsea Papaya fast food place accross the street! Cheap and good fast food!

Bed is Rock Hard, rest of hotel is Excellent!
Besides the rock hard bed (which was a spring mattress with a 1/4 inch cushioned top) that creaked each move you made, the stay was excellent.
Location was great, service was great, breakfast was very good, they kept our luggage when we arrived early, it was clean, it was an OK stay. If only the beds were better this place would have been 10 stars...
Not sure why the beds did not lead off every review.

Great stay!
I really enjoyed my quick weekend stay here! Close enough to walk everywhere, if you’re up to walk. I was skeptical about the beds but I slept really good. Front desk was always really nice. Only thing was the elevator and hallways smelt a little mildewy, but my room didn’t so it didn’t bother me too much. And the blow dryer was attached to the wall but the cord isn’t long enough to actually plus it in haha. I definitely wouldn’t over look this place.

This hotel needs serious updating. The carpet in one spot of our room had a spot that looked like mold. All the furniture was from the 90’s. One drawer was broken. One of our outlets just stopped working in the middle of the night. I feel bad leaving a bad review but they need to do some updates to this place

The hotel was great. Great location, right next to the subway. they were very accommodating. Our flight got in at 9am and they held our bags for no charge until check in, and after check out, they did the same until we had to go to the airport again. Very nice and helpful staff. Will definitely stay again.

Great overnight stay in the city
This hotel had a great location for a trip to the city to see a show at MSG. I loved that we could leave our bags at the hotel before check in and explore the area. The room was comfortable and clean...nothing amazing but did its job perfectly. One of the best parts was the bagels abd muffins offered for continental breakfast...true NYC!

It was easy to leave our luggage both the day we arrived and the day we left so we could maximise our time in the city. Breakfast was fine but not enough seating in breakfast area. We ended up taking it to our room. Easy walk to Penn Station.

Clean, Friendly Staff, Great Location
Location is perfect for getting around Manhattan, subway stop across the street. Hotel is very clean (outdated, but doesn't matter when you're not spending your time in NYC in a hotel room!), and the staff is INCREDIBLY kind and friendly and helpful. Would 100% stay again. Beds are harder than usual, but the room size is much bigger than others we've stayed in in NYC, which was really nice.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is an older property with a lot of character. The rooms are very clean including the bathroom. In the mornings they served delicious fresh NYC bagels and giant muffins with coffee. I would recommend staying here if you want a clean convenient place to stay that is budget friendly.

Great Location
Great location in a safe and walkable area. We enjoyed our stay. The only negative was that the morning we were to check out, the cleaning staff made us feel rushed to leave, vacuuming outside our door and knocking to inquire when we would be out, at about 9 AM, a full two hours before checkout. Aside from that, we had a very nice stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. It was in a great location to enjoy all of the sites of the city.

This hotel is in very nice condition and kept quite clean. My room was spacious and the desk staff was friendly, helpful, and checked me in quickly. The surrounding neighborhood with a lot of conveniences and you are right next to a subway stop. I loved being right next to the actual Chelsea Hotel, and Jake's- the bar next door- was a great way to end my night. I would definitely stay here again.

What I liked: The location is convenient and walkable, and it was close to the conference venue for the event I attended, some tourist spots, and good restaurants (after all it's Chelsea). The hotel was nice overall and room was clean, and looked recently renovated.
What I didn't like: First of all - Noise. I was in a room that looked on the street and it was just so noisy, especially on weekends with a bar right next to the hotel, not only that you hear sirens and traffic, but also people yelling and loud music from the bar, so you can say goodbye to any decent sleep.
Second: Plastic. I know that hotels have different levels of sustainability, but this one just doesn't care. Not only does it have the usual, small plastic shampoos/baths etc, but also plastic cups (wrapped in plastic) and even plastic shower cap (wrapped in plastic!), but what I hated the most were plastic utensils for breakfast. They have a small restaurant - is it that much trouble to offer real utensils? I got a bagel cut in half and then there's just a bunch of small plastic containers with cream cheese and jam. Just a case of not giving a damn about the environment or the plastic crisis.
Hospitality tip: If you see a guest struggling with two big suitcases to go through a double set of doors maybe you could just get up and help them, especially since you're doing nothing else but sitting behind reception.

Hotel staff from the guest reception staff at check-in to the server at breakfast, the housecleaning staff, and the checkout staff were excellent.
If there is one improvement area, it would be to add healthier options to the breakfast selection. For example include fruit and yogurt rather than just carbs

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is quite dated, but our room was very clean and mostly quiet, except for Saturday night (music from outside at a neighboring establishment) but we were so tired, it did not matter much. The location is great- walking distance to Chelsea Market, Little Island, and Penn Station (and more).The bed was just okay. Breakfast was more than adequate- bagels, muffins, pastries, and coffee/juice. The price was fair- we would stay again because the location, price, and service were great.

Comfortable and accommodating
This special spot on the corner was just perfect as our base from which to attend a conference and explore. Staff was attentive and helpful. Getting served New York bagels for breakfast was a hit.
The facility is not new, so there were a few quirks (like a slow drain), but our stay was excellent in all the ways we needed it to be.

Though hotel is located right next to the avenue so it’s quite loud at night.
Plus it may get too cold in winter.
If you’re stayingn for a short night and looking for a decent-priced hotel, this is the spot. If you’re looking for an urban getaway - i wouldnt recommend that much.
