Customer service needs a lot of work
Front desk staff at check in apparently dosent like her job RUDE. Head of housekeeping was extremely rude. Right on the door it says. He lout 12pm. She kept knocking on door while I was trying to have a business meeting saying check out is 11:00

Rude manager
When I reserved the room on hotels.com it said checkout at noon. So I purposely booked a hotel a late checkout. When I got to the room the screen on the the said noon checkout. However the paper that was given to me at check in stated 11 am checkout. When asked I was told to call the night before to request a late checkout and it will not be a problem.
When I called I was told the policy changed in Jan 2024. And told to call the front desk at 6:30 am! My husband and I were getting ready to leave at 11:45 and the manager came to our door and was very rude and stated we need to be out by noon. Horrible customer service. The correct checkout time should have been listed on hotels.com or honored since it was not updated accordingly.
I would stay at this hotel again but not this specific location. Management needs to taught to be professional and accommodating.

I've been a repeat guest at this hotel, drawn back by the positive experiences during my previous stays. However, my recent encounter with the front desk left me dissatisfied. The service on my last day was subpar, and it's disheartening that this was my final impression. I hope the management addresses these issues for the benefit of future guests.

Steer clear if you can
Summary:
I do not recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you arrive by car. The condition of the place is mediocre, and the hospitality is poor.
Arrival (by car):
Horrible experience when compared with almost any other hotel I’ve been to at this price point. We pulled up on the super narrow street in front of the hotel, and there was no obvious place to stop and unload without rude New Yorkers honking and yelling at you to move. We had to circle the block several times until enough space opened up to stop the car. When we finally managed to unload and find the “front lobby” (it’s on the 5th floor; one very small sign to help you figure that out), the woman working the front desk was rude to the guests in front of us, and proceeded to be rude to us as well. Also, one of the people who was actively shooing our car away from the hotel earlier WAS BEHIND THE DESK. Not sure if he was even an employee. On the other days of our stay we interacted with 3 other lobby employees, and only 1 out of 4 was even close to cheerful/helpful.
Parking: Expensive ($55/night) and the hotel employees aren’t interested in helping you find it (also no valet).
Service/hospitality: Very poor as noted above.
Room amenities: Pretty good size TV. No coffee machine or refrigerator in room. Room is small (we had 2 double beds). Beds and pillows were not bad.
Bathroom/Shower: Water heat was fine but water pressure was quite low. Loud, squeaky pocket door on bathroom.

Just terrible. False advertisement of rooms.
DO NOT STAY HERE. This is my first bad review of a hotel over the last 12 years I've been traveling.
The hotel advertises luxury rooms, but fail to note that those are only the renovated rooms, which they have very few of. So, clearly this is false advertisement compared to what you get.
My wife and I found black mold riddled throughout out shower, and the whole room was completely beat up. There was also a MASSIVE stain on the bed.
When I brought this up to the manager, I was informed how we were in an older room and most of them are that way. The only option I was given in recourse was to cancel my stay. Obviously this was not helpful.
I called Wyndham directly and they have also yet to resolve the issues that occurred.
My wife and I had to stay in our disgusting room for one night. We ended up booking another hotel the following night and ate the cost.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. At this point in time, I'll never stay at another Wyndham because of this experience.

This hotel was nothing like shown in website. The pictures that were used must have been from years ago. The hotel is dark, dreary and need of repair. At one time there was a nice bar area that is not used now, left dusty,neglected.
I booked this hotel because of the pictures I saw, really disappointed.

We had a very bad experience with the staff as they were super rude to us. The room was dirty, no light in the bathroom, no hot water, the TV was slow and all they offered was to cancel the reservation! Who does that??

I liked the proximity to the 9/11 Memorial, one of the major hub trans stations and view of One World Trade Centre... breathtaking! I also very much appreciated having a microwave brought to my room upon my request.
What I did not like was being told that I could check in early when I called the morning of my arrival and then was asked to wait until check-in time when I got to the hotel. I also did not appreciate the doors to continental breakfast locked, and most of the food was already being put away with 10 minutes to the hour before it ended. I was not the only hotel guest that did not get in.

I really recommend this property! The view is amazing, right in front of the Freedom Tower. It’s in a very quiet area, near major shopping centers, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and more.

Beautiful views, great location, w/ice bath
The location was absolutely superb. You can walk out the front of the hotel and you're just a block from the WTC, a few blocks from the Battery/Castle Clinton, and the same goes for Wall Street and pretty much anything in lower Manhattan. The location absolutely cannot be beat, and the views are incredible.
I had a premium corner king room, which was very spacious and I had good views of NY Harbor. Air con/heat was great and the bed was very comfortable.
The only problem I had during this trip was with the hot water. On two out of three days I was there....I had no hot water whatsoever. The entire building didn't, apparently, because everyone was grumbling about it in the elevator/lobby.

Loved my time here! The staff was so friendly and helpful, especially Sherrel at the front desk. I cannot say that I enjoyed NYC but coming back to this hotel after a long day felt like I was coming home. The hotel was quiet and comfortable and I always felt safe. If I ever visit this city again I am definitely staying here.

It was an luxury meets urban experience. We enjoyed the views and the cleanness of the hotel. The breakfast hrs and the staff was pleasant. Definitely nice restaurant to have a birthday dinner or celebration of any kind. Decor is lovely. I didn’t like the fact it was no microwave in the room.

I arrived in NY earlier than expected and they were able to accommodate me with my room. Friendly staff. Breakfast option wasn't all that great. Take the extra 5 minute walk and head to Georges' Diner for a full breakfast.

The location downtown near the World trade Center is excellent - with a police presence all around so we definitely felt safe. The staff at the hotel were so helpful, and let us check in early when we arrived so we could dump our luggage.
The facility of the hotel - lobby and entry are extremely dark decor (everything is black) and while trendy, it is not as well lit as it could be. I could not figure out why they blocked the access to the beautiful terrace. No reason given...disappointing.
One day we had the complimentary breakfast on the 2 floor, which is MUCH better than the 1 floor. The 2 floor has actual tables and seating, while the 1 floor has low coffee tables, seats, and a few counter height seats (which I never use because they hurt the legs). Eating at a normal height table and not a coffee table is preferred. Breakfast was good but the wait staff didn't clear the coffee tables often, so there were dishes all over the place and often no clean tables. Honey was available on the 2 floor, but for some reason, the waiter told us that it was "not included" on the 1 floor. Honey should be provided when serving plain, unsweetened yogurt. It was an odd comment by the wait staff.
The room view was outstanding, and the window seat was the highlight. The bed was comfortable and big - king size. The bathroom was nice, but the shower door didn't seal properly, and I did let the front desk staff know about it, but it was not fixed during our stay.

I checked out at 10:30 am and notice I had left my gold chain on the night table after 2 hours of realizing it was missing I called the Hotel to make them aware. I was transfer to security to check the lost and found. Security when to the room to check and found nothing and the house keeper who clean the room said that they didn't see or found anything when the room was being clean! I'm Disappointed that my chain was no where to be found.

Maintenance was not addressed
I was impressed that for $99/night I was able to find a clean and comfortable room in a great neighborhood. It was definitely no frills, but staying in town for work that was exactly what I needed.
Checking in, service was great. However, the lights in the bathroom were out which made it tough to get ready in the am. I told a staff member the next morning, who said it would be looked at, and it was not. That’s my biggest complaint as light is a necessity.

Entrance and lobby were fine, front desk was ok, nothing special, not very nice or accommodating.
Once we got to the room I was very disappointed, very poor experience. The room was not the cleanest and the sheets smelled like gas. Rug also seemed very dirty and the bathroom also was not the cleanest. Don’t be fulled by the pictures, rooms are nothing like it and they need to have better maintenance on the property. The staff was also not the nicest.

Great location!
I loved the location! My room had a view and the window opened! The room could use some attention. A deep cleaning is definitely needed. The bed was so comfortable and fact i could open the window and let in cold air, i slept great. I didn't hear a peep from any of the other rooms. The breakfast was simple, but nice. Will stay again.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The staff was all friendly and very helpful. It sits in a good area in the financial district. Walking distance to most subways that will take you to different parts of the city. It’s basically right next to the 9/11 memorial which is beautiful. It’s near the Trinity church where Alexander and Eliza Hamilton were buried. Walking distance to the Charging Bull and Wall St and the Smithsonian. It was an overall great experience. We stayed 6 nights.

Rooms were modern and clean, views were wonderful. However there is no vending on site, no coffee maker in room, no fridge, no mini bar. There is a water station in the lobby but for the price of what we paid per night we were expecting more amenities. Especially considering hotels in the same area within the same price range all offer them. Location was good but would likely opt for another place with more convenience next time we’re in town. If you’re looking for a clean place with no frills this is a good option.

Overall, really liked this place! We booked our room at a discounted price about one week before our arrival in NY. Being in Financial District, it’s super quiet and a less crowded area in Manhattan which I really liked after spending the daytime in other parts of the city. Keep in mind that FiDi is at the southern end of the city so be prepared to do lots of walking and subway transfers to other stations. The room we were in (1 King Bed) was perfect for my partner and myself. Rooms are a bit small so keep that in mind if you’re planning to travel in a larger group. Beds were soft and cleaned timely and communications w/ the hotel were prompt and always super nice. Everything about this hotel is amazing in my opinion!
Pros:
- Super nice hotel and rooms (at least ours) that provided exactly we were looking for in a place to rest at night
- Staff was very easygoing and helped us out a ton whenever we asked for something
- Room cleaned without moving our belongings on a daily basis which was appreciated
- Location very quiet and super close to Subway entrances, Battery Park, 9/11 Memorial, and a huge shopping center
(Minor) Cons:
- No fridge or microwaves, not a deal breaker by any means as we didn’t have lots of leftovers, but something to consider if you know you’re the type who brings food/drink back to hotels
- No ice machine, again doesn’t take away from the experience at all, but w/ a water bottle everywhere it would’ve been a bonus

Close to 9/11 memorial. If you drive be prepared to pay 55-81 a night to park. Area is safe plenty police patrols 30 min drive to the square. Hotel is nice could use some updating, comfortable beds like really comfy. 24 hr store around the corner to get minor things water pop cigarettes vapes

I had a very comfortable stay at The Washington - excellent location and close to many amenities. The rooms were spacious and had all the necessary conveniences. Staff were friendly, and went out of their way to ensure I had what I needed as a guest. I would definitely recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location and amazing views of One World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial Pools. Makiyia greeted us with a smile and kindly let us check in a few hours early. Quiet corner room at the end of the hallway. Ice machine right next to us. Service was fast and efficient. Had a mini fridge and requested a microwave and tea kettle. Bed was great. There's an outdoor lounge on the 5th floor. Complimentary coffee and tea on the 2nd floor from 7am-11:30am. Free WiFi (decent speed). There's no room service but we had food delivered a couple times. Overall had a great time and would definitely come back again.

I stayed 3 nights in October.
I was bitten by bugs one night. I felt something bite me and I woke and saw a black bug in my bed. Property has no amenities, no vending, no where to get bottled water. I was initially given a room the size of a closet. I requested a new room and this room had the bug. When I got home, I messaged the hotel via the Travelocity app, no reply. I would not stay here again even if it was the last hotel in NYC. Do not recommend.

Phones in room didnt work/ tv in room didnt work kept shutting off mid show. It was late so i called front desk but they couldnt get an engineer to look at it right away. The rooms are very small and there is so beverage or vending machines on premise either.

The hotel reminded me of a Las Vegas-style hotel with a hip and modern style. The rooms were large and nicely appointed. It was a little hard to find the hotel because it is "hidden" by dark doors, and the check-in lobby is on the fifth floor so you have to ask for directions to locate it.
