Loved this property. Had an iconic view of NYC library and located close to Bryant park. Staff was amazing and loved the floor to ceiling windows in our suite which was the size of an apartment!!

There were one or two staff that were helpful. Upon checking in, one member of staff was extremely rude, obnoxious, unhelpful and condescending. When asking for extra towels, it took over an hour to arrive. Don't recommend for the price.

The hotel is currently undergoing “renovation” and is next to a building site - so the usual “luxury” feel is lacking. The room was noisy. Otherwise, a nice place to stay. Late check-out option was accommodated at half the room rate which is expensive but we had to take it up given a late departing flight.

One of my favorite NYC hotels
This is one of my favorite hotels in NY. The rooms can be dark, but they are very minimalist and clean. Bathrooms are incredibly spacious by NYC standards. The only downside is that they now charge an exorbitant fee for even a modest late checkout, which may make it more cost effective to stay where I have status while in the city.

Great hotel, but…
Overall the hotel is a great place mostly for the location and the rooms, which are spacious and well laid out. However, there was a drop in service standards compared with our last stay 4 years ago, which was evident in several incidents. The manager did offer some compensation in the form of points, but overall it left us with a less glowing impression of the property.

very disapointed on been charged many taxes, etc. Those should have been already on the rate... but they charge you on top almost 100$ per night on other taxes and fees.. not fair!

This is a fabulous hotel. We enjoyed an excellent view of the NY Public Library! The bathroom was magnificent, the room was spacious, and the filling of the mini bar and snacks was very convenient!

Overpriced hotel for the quality you get. I chose it looking at the pictures at hotels.com and none of the pictures was our room actually- king suite 1216 was much smaller than described in the description and the comfort for 4 family members is minimum because it’s so narrow and small. I guess you pay more for the “design” which in my opinion didn’t serve the space well. The bathroom/toilet had 2 doors- a narrow (for our 2yo maybe) and a wider one- it made no sense. The complicated lighting - one has to click several times to understand how to turn off master or bedroom because it’s so randomly set up. Restaurant is overpriced and not tasty at all, not kids friendly. So overall it was a disappointment

Decent hotel but nothing special
It's definitely a good hotel with great location and good staff. But for the money we paid, the decor of the hotel seemed extremely bare and minimalist, specially around christmas time. Rooms and the lobby is extremely boring with bare white big walls. Also not having basic coffee supplies in room is a let down for $500/night. I will not spend such amount on Andaz again.

ANDAZ during COVID
I'm a repeat customer with the same likes and dislikes as before, but the positive outweighs the negative. First, the staff is excellent. Every single person I talked with. Every time. the room have been well-maintained over the years and the public spaces are spotless. All this during COVID, no less.
So what's not too like? The beds are not as firm as I'm used to in most other hotels of this calibre. The lighting in the bathroom and in the room could be more plentiful and better. In particular, the full-length mirror is a big plus, but not if not lit well-enough to be useful at any time day or night!
But these are not major problems and in fact, the same could be said of almost all 'boutique'hotels I've stayed in over the last two decades!
All in all, if any hotel, a big brand especially, can get so much right with some of the friendliest and attentive staff anywhere at any price, I'm coming back.

Great Stay
This was our first stay at this property and we'll be back for sure. Perfect location across from the library and Bryant Park with easy access to all areas in the city. The hotel was immaculate and COVID-19 precautions were handled very well. The staff was particularly a highlight - warm and friendly service by all which isn't always the case in NYC even in top properties. Book a suite if the budget allows as they are spacious, well appointed and a real value compared to similar properties.

The only disappointment was due to a corporate policy that allows "world members" to impede on the service of arriving guests. Evidently world members can have a 4pm check out. Which, didn't allow us to get into our room until 6:30pm.
This added stress to our visit. We had chosen one of the nicest suites in order to meet a client at 5pm on a Sunday in the suite, and had to reschedule the meeting until Wednesday due to this issue. That meant we had to stay in the hotel and eat the cost of additional days. All in all this policy costs over $1700 in hotel fees and parking due to the situation.
The property is nice, and in a great location. The staff was kind. So we gave it 4 stars.
I think Hyatt should rethink this policy as it isn't kind to new guests. They could just as easily offer world members something else that doesn't ruin opportunities or the experience of arriving guests.

I like the walking proximity to New York landmarks. The bed was by far the most uncomfortable but I’ve ever slept in in a hotel, very disappointed because I’ve visited the Arizona property and fell in love. Very different experience

Nice posh staycation environment
There seems to be a variety of configurations of Andaz suite. Mine had two main rooms, separated by large doule doors. There was large room with a huge sofa, an armchair and coffee tables surrounding a large flat screen TV. The other room is a large bedroom with its own flat screen TV, a large closet and 3 large storage drawers. Furniture was comfortable and in good shape. Bed and pillows were very plush. Suite has a kitchenette and desk area near entrance, separate from rooms by double doors. Good sized fridge and freezer were there. Ice maker did not work, but hotel supplied bar quality cubes for my drinks. Microwave, sink, nespresso machine and dishwasher are included. Bathroom is huge with rainfall shower and double sink. Hallway connects all the rooms and has two big closets for coats and other hung articles.
Entire suite had at least 15 foot ceilings. COVID made a few things difficult, including a lack of plates, cups, glasses and silverware, but hotel would deliver what you needed when asked. Wifi was reliable. Lighting was very stylish, if a little overstyled. Keypads controlled lights, heat and window shades, but overlapped and some lights were hard to turn on and off individually without shutting off all lights with a master switch.

A gem of a hotel
You will not find a better located hotel in NYC! The room was so spacious and the staff and service was outstanding!! They went out of their way at every opportunity! So friendly, so helpful, and so kind. This was my first visit to NYC and my hotel experience really added to my trip. There were all these nice little extra touches that they did to make our stay so pleasant. Bed was super comfy, somehow it was pillow soft but still supportive and firm. I slept like a dream after my busy touristy days, and my room felt like a real haven! I was within walking distance of everything. My sister and I repeatedly spoke about how much this hotel added to our trip! Huge thanks to Bastille who went out of his way!!

Huge, glorious rooms
The location is phenomenal. We stayed in a corner two bedroom suite over New Years and loved every minute of it. The views, the beds, the huge rooms, everything was truly wonderful. Can’t wait to come back. We’ve stayed at over a dozen fine hotels in the midtown area - if you value space, these are the largest accommodations you’ll find.

Understated elegance with a touch of chic. Our room was spacious with high ceilings and great views. The beds are heavenly and the bathrooms are unique. Staff were all amazing and professional, from the concierge to cleaning staff. Room service was thoroughly enjoyed by my son, most especially their avocado toast with poached eggs and their juicy burger. I would definitely choose to stay in this hotel whenever I’m back in NYC.

Staff average, not interested in customer experience. Hotel falsely advertises pictures of rooms that are from another room than what you get (and in a much better condition). Suite with terrace outdated, terrace much smaller than in the hotel picture, doesn't have the furniture they advertise, also dirty, facing an ugly building (website says view of library ) staff say they get this same complaint often but don't care and are not willing to do anything about it, even lie to get you off their case. Poor service and poor room

We celebrated our 2nd anniversary and we were told we would have a special amenity upon arrival and free breakfast. However, the Host DJ gave us a suite that had the view of office windows and stated our special amenity are given after 6pm. Id booked a suite with the lounge canopy bed in the terrace, had to email the hotel so we can recieve our special amenity and remind the hotel are breakfast was compliments for our special occasion. I wish they were excited and attentive on our celebration of love. Thank God for my husband, Sarah, the chef and the location making it worth the stay!

Great place and perfect location for a weekend!
This is a top notch very modern property. It's almost brand new with a focus on smart design and high functionality. Our suite was really well equipped and the floor to ceiling windows and balcony made it feel much more spacious. Very nice visit.
