Happy to be Back Again
I booked this because I had stayed here a year ago and had a very good experience. This time was even better! It looked newer than a year ago! Very well maintained with comfortable and roomy layout, bed, bath, etc. Oh, forgot that the coffee iin the lobby wasn’t hot at 9:30 pm. I’m a late coffee drinker and that was a disappointment, though they offered to make a fresh pot.

Nice modern hotel. Sadly our room had issues. The bathroom door would not latch. The sink would not drain well which caused the previous guest's beard shavinga to come up. There wasn't enough TP.

Clean, comfy beds, fluffy and down pillow choice, great breakfast selection, indoor pool, elevators, quiet, ac/heater, well equiped rooms with kuerig, mini fridge, and shelves. Very nice and clean place to stay.

The only problem I had with this was the pool. The water was freezing and the a.c was on so it made it unbearably to be in . Other than that this place was amazing and clean, the room was so spacious

Very Good Hotel Near Starved Rock
Clean, comfortable hotel with spacious rooms and good beds. Very good breakfast spread for a standard hotel, though they could have had more or fresher fruit.
The window shades left the room very dark (which I consider a plus - some hotel windows let in way too much morning light). Good bathroom, rooms were quiet.

Very clean motel with helpful staff. Our room did not have a hair dryer but staff got one for us right away. Juice machine only had apple one day and orange another. I suspect a supply chain issue. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

When i made the reservation i reserved a single multi room with 3 queen beds that's why it was ok to pay much. But when i checked in it was only for a single room with 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. So disappointing especially paying so much for that kind of room only.

We had a great stay while on a long road trip. The hotel seemed recently updated and everything was clean and new. The young lady who checked us in was very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic! Lots of options with sausage links, omelets, cereal, pancakes, yogurt, juice, coffee and other options for take away. We all walked away stuffed! Our only complaint was the room was a little small when the pull out sofa was unfolded. Great hotel! Great staff! Great breakfast!

Great Choice staying at the Holiday Inn Express
I loved the breakfast choices! Something for everyone! Such an affordable price for the rooms, which by the way ours was immaculate and cozy! I loved the shades to keep out the light! Everyone was helpful, accommodating and friendly!

Since maid service is 5 days delayed, there should be a larger supply of in room amenities:
More than 2 K Cups coffee
Place mats and napkins for eating in your room cleanly

When I checked in and got to my room it smelled a bit and the window was open so I called down to tell them that the window was open and it smelled that I did not want to be charged if they thought I smoked bc iam not a smoker and then it was weird my husband saw that the garbage can in the room had open drinks in it and scratch off tickets like someone was in the room before me or they didn’t take the garbage out. That was my only complaint but the room smelled and then cleaning the room.

Very friendly staff and an extremely clean and comfortable room. This is a newer building and one thing I absolutely loved was the huge shower! I've stayed at a number of Holiday Inn's and this did not disappoint.

Very clean and nicely maintained property. Room was very spacious. The only problem I had was with the pillows, they stank a bit, like old pillows that have been used many times by sweaty unwashed heads. Maybe they need to change the pillows. Otherwise very very comfortable. Breakfast was AMAZING, so many options and having a hot breakfast available after so many days since the pandemic, was the best. Overall, very good stay and I'll book here again the next time we visit starved rock

With covid restrictions i was afraid breakfast was going tobe grab and go. It wasnt buffet but they had it nicely done where they got the food for you. Staff was really friendly. Great trip

Our overall stay was really great! Staff was amazing, our room was great, breakfast was great. But, one of the main reasons we stayed here was because of the pool (young children) and it was not clean - indoor pool was a greenish color with a lot of hair balls. We would stay here again, but I wouldn’t promise swimming again until verifying that it was clean.

We, a family of three, stayed for a weekend to visit nearby parks. The staff here was excellent. The pool area was small and a little out of control with a travel baseball team taking it over. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

Only thing was there was a girl at the front desk that gave me and my kids bad looks just stairing at us. Made me very uncomfortable. The breakfast ladies and the ones that clean the rooms were excellent so bright and cheery laughing, saying hello to everyone. I would definitely stay here again! They are so personable!

I had used Hotels .com to reserve my stay. I received a confirmation and was supposedly all set. Upon arrival I was informed that their hotel was full. No room was available to me and my 2 daughters. I was turned away by an older man who was extremely rude to me and told me to go to the Super 8 Hotel. I was alone in a town I had never been in with my girls. No Room. No Refund available at that time. I’ll have to wait on hotels.com management to get in contact w me. Could be days. EXTREMELY UNHAPPY!
