I enjoyed overall the staff and personnel, however I was dissatisfied with the level of noise on my floor I could hardly get any sleep with some of the guests arguing and yelling. I would like to request for partial compensation for my accommodations. I traveled far and in the very least should have had peace and comfort in my hotel room.

Everything was great except for the parking. It cost us $35 to park for the night. I get parking is high downtown, but that seems excessive to park where I'm already paying to stay.

Very comfortable and affordable. Great location in the midst of the action in North River. The hotel itself.is a little like a labyrinth with various elevators leading to different buildings. The carpets are also old. All in all, wonderful for a short stay but needs renovation.

Everything is fine, except the wifi. It's basically no connection during my stay. The building close to the reception has a good signal, however, the other side of the building sucks. The staff noticed the problem but didn't fix it before I left. I wasted lots of data during these dates.

The entrance to the rooms through the parking is a good “area of improvement”
I was asked for amenities in the room while booking, I asked for a microwave. Hotel answered that “only if available” . OK but in the room there was no place for a microwave.! Why not say it?

Why is the pool
So hard to find? There is almost no direction as to how to get there. Multiple elevators, some of which were out of order. Stairwells not labelled. The pool itself was beautiful but I took three attempts and two calls to staff to be able to find it. Spoke with several other people who had the same complaint.

The staff was extremely helpful with arranging transportation (hailing a cab). The location is within walking distance of a large number of restaurants and Michigan ave for shopping which my companion greatly enjoyed. The building setup is a little confusing with separate entrances and elevators for the two sides of the hotel. The elevator closest to our room didn’t stop on our floor so took some getting used to. The $49 parking fee was a little steep but the lot was gated and there was an attendant so it was very secure.

Great stay, great staff - property is in need of a bit of reno, the aircon was noisy as well...discount the little bits, and the majority win. Great position, in easy walk of downtown attractions and activities.

Perfect place! Had indoor heated pool, nice little rooftop hangout spot, clean hallways and rooms, a whole restaurant attached to it. The staff accommodated all our needs. We enjoyed! Even stood almost a whole day in the hotel room just to relax. Will come back when back in Chicago.

A great memory in a hotel to be revisited
Jordan, Wallace and team were exceptional. What I told him then, I will tell you now…”This Best Western has to be the finest I have ever been to. Not only did the place become our rest from a whirlwind of travel, it became one of our favorite hotels in all the name brand hotels we have stayed in.” Later on I went on to thank the staff for their kindness and attention to detail. The place operated as a true 5 star hotel. Perfect location, perfect people and perfect vacation memory! Thank you guys!

parking is ridiculous. I personally don't think its worth the money. our room was kinda questionable. I figured they would have free or at least discounted parking since it was on site and we paid $315 for a room for less then 24 hours. but no it was just as much to park there as it was to park at the aquarium ($50). We will not return to this hotel or even this city. WAY overrated in my opinion. It wasn't worth the drive or the money.

I stayed at this hotel about five years ago and I liked the suite, which had a separate living room. Somehow, I got a different suite which was just a bigger room. I like that the hotel it is in a centric area, and you can walk to many attractions and restaurants. I was disappointed that the rooms did not have a trash bin for recyclables. The person at the reception desk was unfriendly and not helpful. The elevator to our room broke down and I panicked because my husband has mobility issues. I asked the guy at the front desk when it would be fixed, and he just shrugged. He could have told me there are other elevators available. Luckily a couple of hotel workers on the 4th floor pointed to me where the other two elevators were located.

The dude at the front desk, all three of the people really, but particularly the thinner guy who wears suit jackets was an absolute G. Super welcoming, he checked me in and was frequently at the desk for my weeklong stay. Was very professional and also very friendly. gave great banter and just an overall good vibe. I travel for work almost every week and this fella ( I wish I got his name) is the best person working at a hotel I’ve ever met. Perfect balence of classy professionalism, and cool local knowhow. Engaged perfectly with both me, my girlfriend and my cousin throughout the week, was one of the reasons I was bummed to leave Chicago and will be staying at the same spot if he’s still working there next year 100%. I’d hire him to be the front of my office anywhere for genuine friendly and solid street smarts vibes. If he’s not a manager already- as a customer who travels and someone who works in customer relations- I would certainly trust him to be one. Thanks man you made the hotel that was supposed to be just a business trip Homebase a real homey feeling spot :)

Wonderful staff
Great location, but they really shine with their service. Wallace, the attendant/concierge, was the best part! He is so friendly, engaging, and there with a helping hand whenever we needed him. We dealt with 3 employees and all provided great customer service. The accomadations were clean and maintained.

We had an amazing experience!! Wallace was AMAZING and always a joy to talk too! He remembered us and asked us about our Sushi and concert. The office staff was amazing and super helpful! The room was clean. No complaints on my end! I travel a lot and this was one of the best hotels I have stayed in this year and am very pleased with my experience. We are already planning to stay again next summer!

The worst hotel that I’ve ever stayed. The network is too bad, the bathroom doesn’t have a door for privacy, AC is very noisy, the coffee machine doesn’t work, the luggage storage is available only for 2 hrs after check out. This hotel is the worst. DON’T STAY HERE!!!!!

The stay was great all around, with two minor critiques (one of which the hotel can't control):
1. The level of noise outside at night. There's a gas a block away that seems to attract bikers at night who tend to rev their engines loudly at all hours.
2. The wifi--insanely slow. Not sure if the problem is they don't have enough wifi access points or if they're just outdated, but we were averaging between 200kbps-1 Mbps download speed in our hotel room, and the signal was weak enoigh that it would drop repeatedly, making any kind of internet usage impossible.
The staff were super polite and helpful, though.

Great city stay!
It was a great stay! The only drawback is it can be a bit of a maze to find your room, but the front desk it polite and does a veeh good job giving direction. Lot was full, but the parking attendant gave perfect directions to the public parking only a block away (pricing there was better) and it was very easy. Great location. I would book again in a heartbeat.

This is a really nice property. The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything! The only complaint is that the front desk staff should be more knowledgeable about the surrounding area. They can't even tell you where the closest bike rack is.

Location is wonderful and the parking situation is a nice addition. The hotel is old and definitely has a “budget hotel” feel. It’s a bit loud and has some dingy hallways. The room was clean, however, and our housekeeping staff did an awesome job turning over the room during our three night stay!

Upon arrival we were told that we could check in at once, instead of waiting 15 min. However this would cost us a fee. We thought this was a joke, but not. We ended up waiting the 15 min to avoid the additional fee. Then we were told that they did in fact have no rooms ready for us yet, and we had to come back. Why try to get us to pay more if this was the case - Are you kidding me?

Generally very good value. Only complaint is that the "free" coffee is only from 6am to 9am. Good pool and workout facilities, good room service, friendly and helpful staff, generally much better than expected. Wallace was fantastic. Third floor hallways smell disgusting. Got locked out one time. They only hold bags till 1pm. No early check-in and by early I mean 5 minutes! Coffee machine turns off at 9:00am.

The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, we had a great stay and the pool and rooftop patio were great bonuses. Would definitely recommend. The only things I would note is that there is no mini fridge in the rooms and it was a bit noisy in the rooms, you can hear your neighbours and people above.
