This property was very clean and safe feeling! The vanilla latte is amazing in the little store on site! I really didn't like that the pool closed at 7pm! Our stay was just fine though! The bed is really comfortable best hotel bed I've stayed in for a very long time! All valet parking personal were amazing! I would recommend this hotel its right on the beach and beautiful. I love the soap as well for the bathroom and shower!

We had a great time at Grand Pelican Resort. I love the beach front location, the big balcony, the view is spectacular, the food and service are excellent.
I didn’t give 4 stars because the cleaning was mediocre and the building overall is due for an upgrade. Also the valet parking is overpriced and there is no self park parking available.

Great location….
This is the only hotel in decades that hasn’t allowed early check in. We had to wait for over 4 hours to get into the room. Overall the exterior has lots of paint wear and the stairs to the ocean are about ready to fall in. Desk staff not friendly….but other workers through our were nice. Rooms are ok but need more than 2 mini trash cans. No vending machines or pop machines. They want you stuck with a mini bar price

Best stay, really liked how friendly and exceptional service was from all the staff, it's nice to see such a well run hospitality venue, thinking of every detail to relaxing music in areas, and enjoyed built in gratuity as it seems to help everyone as staff very pleasant and happy and we did not have to worry about finding our credit card upon making a transaction which made for very enjoyable Vaca. We are planning on returning and had a wonderful time!

Fantastic location- rooms ok
Rooms are spacious but not in the best condition, blinds that are used on partition between bedroom and seating area are not blackout and therefore rooms are very light in the mornings. Pool looks big on the pictures but in reality it’s fairly small. Great beachfront location.

Beautiful location, resort off from the busier Ft. Lauderdale traffic. Walkable to state park where you can catch the water taxi into Ft. Lauderdale. Restaurant onsite tasty but a bit pricey. Hard to beat the view. Work out room has the basics. Pool and lazy river very cramped, hard to justify resort fees honestly. Staff very friendly. Generally clean and our room was lovely. Would consider staying again if could find a better rate.

You’re doing them a favor by staying here.
Unfortunately we were checked in almost 2 hours after check in time… 3hours past promised time… in total we were in the lobby for almost 4-5 hours.
Then they wouldn’t even make it up by giving us an extra hour to sleep in for checkout. Attitude was more like they don’t even care.

This was my first time and my last time staying at this resort. Highly overpriced, not accommodating at the front desk and rooms need better beds without sharp corners stabbing your legs every time you maneuver around the bed. 👎

The hotel is beautiful. The location is amazing. However, the staff is not friendly and the service is terrible. The food at the restaurant is terrible and the service at the hotel and restaurant is VERY slow and not polite. I don't know if this is a Florida thing or just this hotel.

Despite our early arrival, our room was prepared promptly, offering us a stunning oceanfront view that exceeded expectations. The cleanliness of the hotel was commendable, and we found the dining experience at the restaurant to be superb. The beach access, particularly the VIP option with reserved pool and beach amenities, added significant value to our stay. Beautiful beach area and nice pool but chairs filled up quickly with waiting list for chairs.
Cashless resort but tips expected (pool, beach, valet staff) so bring cash. Front desk did not have cash/change.

Spring 2024 Pelican Beach Resort
The front staff and restaurant staff were amazing! But, sadly, it ends there. The beach valets are terrible - horrible attitude, each day, and multiple people were complaining. The rooms are dated and not very clean, sheets uncomfortable. The pool area could use some renovations as well. Overall, the space is a little tired and not very spacious in common areas. On the plus side, there is not a large crowd on the section of the beach - it’s mostly families and quiet groups staying in the resort.

Property is dated and in need of updating. During our stay there was a heavy rainstorm and the hallways were flooded, causing a dangerous situation. Despite numerous complaints it took several hours to clean up the mess. The setting itself is beautiful, and for every wonderful staff member we found several that were extremely rude. We probably will not be returning.

What’s good here is GREAT. And what’s not good, is awful. The good news is that i was upgraded to an incredible room. MASSIVE, well appointed- chargers next to bed which i always love and the view was stunning. Door opened to a gorgeous deck (not private) with stunning view right on the ocean. However, facilities need upgrading and worst of all there were not one but TWO cockroaches in my room. I called to let them know and all they gave me was an additional hour as “late check out”. They also provide two free bottles of water, which is nice- every hotel should do this, but not all do, so i appreciate when they do.

Our new hotel of choice in Fort Lauderdale.....
The staff made this trip memorable. The valets, the front desk, the housekeepers and most specially, the entire restaurant team, were all friendly, welcoming and efficient.
The food? To die for, Every meal was delicious; breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
The hotel layout was elegant and relaxing.
The best part? The rocking chairs on the veranda. We loved sitting there for hours; morning, noon and night.
We'll be back....

Worth every penny.
What a perfect spot to unwind in a relaxing, beautiful atmosphere with incredible oceanside views and stunning beach front. Food was excellent, service was impeccable, rooms were spacious, very clean, and elegantly decorated.
Absolutely recommend. We have come to Florida often and this was by far our favorite stay/accommodations.

Just don’t do it. The service is all over the place but heavy on the disinterested and unwilling side. The place needs maintenance in many areas. Our room was missing one half of the curtains so we couldn’t keep the light out in the morning and the a/c didn’t work when we got there. They didn’t give us the $41 credit for being VIP Platinum with Hotels.com. There’s a daily resort fee of over $40 plus $48 for valet parking. The only real redeeming qualities were the location and the food in the restaurant was surprisingly good. We won’t be back.

It’s a nice property right on the beach which is awesome for sure. But as far as value for money, absolutely not. I think if I weee to have coughed too loud I would have been charged for it. I rated the parking high for convenience but at 48 USD per night for valet and no self parking option, I would prefer to park it myself. I couldn’t justify going back. But I made the decision to stay there so my bad. We stayed at another hotel a mile up the road for three nights at the same cost as one night at the Pelican. Not at all the same tier of hotel but the increased cost is in no way justified.

Pelican Grand Resort
From the valet to the bell boy and the front desk the service was friendly and excellent. Room was nice, with a great layout. The balcony and the view was amazing. Bar service and food was great.

The property was lovely, but our treatment at checkout was disappointing and frustrating. The staff member, Daina or Daini, was rude and short with my husband and seemed to want him out of the way. It was so obvious that my husband actually mentioned to her that she was being rude. Being left with that final resort experience turned us off to returning in the future.

This hotel is nice, not great! The beach accommodations with chairs and towel was wonderful and view from oceanfront room is fantastic. Everything else is just ok! Room felt very used:
-vanity was broken
-recessed can light above shower was falling out -mattress has those been laid in alot dips
-Shower wasn’t a rain shower and moldy
-toilet paper roll was broken
-rugs on floor were ripped in areas
-elevators were horribly slow
I must say even thought these things I found wrong I enjoyed myself and so did my wife. Cute decor in room and again a wonderful view.

From a wall outlet not working, the elevator stopping on every floor or not working at all despite having 12 floors. Them saying they can't check bags or can't do a late checkout, then someone else saying you can. Getting food poisoning from eating at a restaurant that is double or triple the price it should be. I will not be staying there again.

Cold Weather, but Hotel was very good
We were very happy with the hotel overall.
Note1 : if you like bar-soap, bring you own.
Note2 : There IS a room safe, but its in the closet at chest level. Meaning that if someone else hung up a bunch of clothes before you did, you won't see it or know its even there. i thought we didn't have a safe until the last day, when the person repacked their clothes and I saw it.
Service was fabulous. Room and balcony were great. Nice view of the beach right from the balcony.
If I had any complaint at all, it would be that the beds were a little too soft. Otherwise, very happy with the room.
Weather (not the hotel's fault) was kind of cold while we were there. So there was a lot of speculating about "is this normal for Ft. Lauderdale in early January?" being the topic of discussion amongst travelers. The consensus was that it was cold, so if you want to guarantee mid-80s weather in January, you have to go farther south (outside the US).

It was so beautiful we didn’t want to come home. We loved our stay, the room was very clean, the views to the beach and the small balcony. We did breakfast by the beach while watching the sunrise highly recommended! The staff was amazing, the convenience of a bar on site was the perfect ending. We can’t wait to return!

Overpriced! At almost $600 a night, plus $48 a night for parking, $42 a night resort fee, $196 deposit….. food was great but overpriced and not much of a selection for the New Years Eve dinner; drinks ok and also over priced … you have to pay for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash when most hotels offer them complementary..

Beautiful views
The staff was very attentive. We arrived several hours before our check in time and they stored our luggage (7 people) and we enjoyed a really nice lunch on the deck. When we were able to check in, our luggage was delivered to our room. We were only there for one night before a cruise but would definitely stay again.

COMFORT AND CHARM
We have at the Pelican Grand for a number of years. The hotel is lovely, rooms are very comfortable. This visit, the elevators and dining room were being renovated, something is always being built or renovated. I just wish we had informed before our stay. We probably would've stayed there anyway, it would have been nice to be told in advance. Beach is beautiful!

Tired hotel, needs updating. Dirty grounds. Broken elevator ruined the stay- 5-10 min wait, shared with staff so stopped at every floor. Nice bar, convenient coffee/gift shop - both great service.

Despite the tropical storm which played havoc with our plans the hotel was comfortable and safe. The beach is lovely and the service excellent. Our only complaint was the shower in our bathroom---ir needs updating badly.
Will definitely return here---..

Beautiful beach and porch overlooking the ocean. Entertainment on the porch was wonderful. Restaurant/ bar very nice with friendly staff and good food / drinks. Room was lovely and bed was super comfortable. Elevator's were being refurbished so only one elevator working for the entire resort making for long waits or great exercise up and down the stairway which was not the cleanest area. Was able to get a late checkout for an additional $100 as our flight didn’t leave until the evening but the front desk gentleman was extremely rude and difficult. All in all despite a few bumps, a very nice resort.

The whole experience from the moment we walked into the hotel was so amazing
The views and atmosphere were what you would expect from a Grand Floridian hotel of years ago
We were very impressed with all of the staff, they were friendly, cheerful and welcoming
There was no shortage of staff helping on the beach and pool, setting up loungers and umbrellas in addition to bringing food and drinks from the excellent two restaurants on site.
You could tell that the staff took pride in the hotel and their hospitality
We will definitely be back!

Great location but poor service and aging property
Great location right on the beach and wonderful full length veranda for dinner, drinks, relaxing. That would make it 4-5 stars but...
For the price, would expect far better service. Check in was slow, wait staff VERY slow and error prone. There is a mandatory 22% gratuity fee, which makes this even more frustrating.
Finally, while the property was overall clean, it is starting to age and needs a bit of a refresh. Paint and wallpaper is peeling and some wood work is missing or rotten.
Again for a budget hotel, not an issue, but at this price would expect more.

Great location right on the beach. Room was lovely. Some plugs/charger connections did not work. Room temp was inconsistant. Service and staff around pool area are great. Overflow area around pool was very dirty, needs a good scrubbing. Beach area kept very clean. Need to take transportation to go places. Overall enjoyed our stay very much.

We loved our suite for our family of 4. It had more than enough space, and it had a beautiful picturesque balcony over looking the ocean. Breakfast on the veranda was wonderful. Between the lazy river and the ocean, the kids didnt have time to fight with eachother. Too busy having fun.

I enjoyed the fact that it was a resort that provided great service, almost like being on a cruise.! I have a great view in my room, and would definitely come back. The only thing that I would say as an improvement is that they need to do some detail maintenance around the property., And the level of Quality I expected was not where it could have been. Significant Lime deposits on the shower head, beautiful wood work needing stain touch ups, paint touch ups…
I think if they worked on that, it would be super top notch!

Property was clean and nice a bit away from activity shopping, restaurants although there was a restaurant on location and one next door. There was a stocked bar in the room (beer, wine, soda and snacks) all prices were listed except for the coffee k cups but definitely charged for them. Staff was pleasant and on their toes.

His name is Brian, the room was ready at 8 am, blew us away with his professionalism plus a great source of information.
We got off our boat and traveled to the hotel in record time so we arrived super early for our reservation. They were ready.
Adam at the pool and the two young men on the beach were all so helpful in setting us up with chairs and umbrellas, fast and effective set up.
The bar staff were outstanding.
We will be back especially next time we’re are in Fort Lauderdale.
