Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. The room was clean and spacious and offered amazing views of diamond head and the ocean. Had pleasant interactions with all the staff that we encountered during our stay!

The hotel staff were very friendly, the room was clean and the view was amazing. The only downfall to our room was it had a joining door and we could hear our neighbours at all hours of the day/night.

The hotel has deteriorated in only 2 years since our last visit. Our first room the bathroom and tub smelt so bad we had to change rooms. However, we had to check out of our current room at 11 and then wait till 3:30 for our new room. My daughter’s room once ready also has issues. The AC did not function and we were told it would be a 3-5hr fix, so they also had to pack up their belongings and ask for a new room. They were finally assigned a new room, but not the specific view we had paid for as that was all the hotel had left to offer.
The new room was not without issue, with the plugs on one side of the bed not working, the TV audio crackly, and very evident mold along the shower trim. The top it all off, after checkout we were told we could still use the amenities of the resort as our flight was not till the evening, yet our keycards were immediately deactivated and could not even open the lobby bathroom. We didn’t plan to use any of the amenities other than the lobby bathroom and yet we could even use that. After complaining that we just wanted to use the restroom before heading to the airport, we were given a “hospitality room” to use. This hospitality room was nothing more than a bathroom and a couch, both of which were dirty and unkept. To say this will our last time choosing Alohilani is an understatement. We previously have stayed here numerous times and without issue, but things seem to slipped in the past few years.

The reception staff could be friendlier. Not saying all of them aren’t pleasant but few are definitely need some customer courtesy training. Also cafes and restaurants on premises are pretty pricey. Other then that absolutely amazing hotel.

Week at the beach
Staff was excellent and friendly. Valet was super fast. Location was great: beach across the street, shops and restaurants close with lots of choices. Ate at two of the hotel restaurants and both were good with good service.
Room was nice but bed and couch were worn and not very comfortable. Room was also loud with noise from hall, other rooms and outside. The area is very loud and nothing can be done about that, but it was annoying to be woken up by music and talking in hallway and other rooms. Housekeeping was also lacking in regards to daily cleaning and restocking the room. The room itself was clean and nice.

It's located near everything! They have their own car rental service in the hotel called Sixt car rental. Go to Luna's Tequila Bar Happy Hour the drinks and tacos are amazing. They have an ABC store with everything you need, a coffee shop and other restaurants attached to the resort. The pool staff are nice and make the perfect drinks. The food is also good. The live music was remarkable along with the service by the staff. They are so personable and professional. The gym is very spacious. I had a great room with a beautiful view of the ocean.
The bed was so comfy! The bathroom lighting was great and I had more than enough space to do my hair and makeup every morning. The shower pressure was great and the bathroom and room was super clean. Housekeep came 3 out of the 4 nights I was there. The staff checked on me throughout my trip and always asked if I needed anything. The front desk staff was very nice as well! 10 out of 10 recommend.

This hotel is overly priced, there is only one small pool and hot tub which caused overcrowding and the pool was unpleasant to use. You’re unable to get deck chairs.
Room service only operates between 10am - 9pm which is bizarre people tend to want room service outside of these hours.
Housekeeping did not do a good job at cleaning rooms still looked untidy

This property was so run down. It's very expensive to stay here and the ceiling in our room had water damage. There were stains on the carpeting, some fluid on the walls that was just gross!

I like that the beach was across the street. I dislike all the fees and the 50$ a day for parking its was an extra 550$ in resort fees and my room was nothing special. The location and staff were amazing especailly the concerge that helped us plan our outttings.

Great hotel in a wonderful location
A modern hotel in a fantastic location for Waikiki beach, and downtown Honolulu. My only problem with the hotel was the pool size and amount of day beds as we were unable to access the day beds on a regular basis and the pool was very busy, but with an amazing beach near by, it didn’t create too much concern. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the local area. Overall, a great stay.

3 star hotel for 5 star price.
The hotel lobby is grand and beautiful but the rooms are not. The hallways have lower ceilings and make you feel like you are in government projects. The pool and hot tub were full our entire 8 day stay and it was difficult to get seating. The cabanas at $300 plus tax are a rip off. The restaurants in the hotel are mediocre at best.

Hotel it's nice, clean. The buffet it's overpriced and not a lot of food. Our room supposed to have "Ocean view", that was what we booked and we got a "Partial Ocean view" which it's cheaper but they never offered a refund. Parking it's $48 which it's overpriced, since that was the price that we paid for the car to rent. So many "Resort fees", around $60/day, this it's getting out of hand with all those fees. Not sure if I'll stay in the same hotel next time since there are so many.

Resort fees, you don’t get parking or 1st come access to lounge chairs without paying pre money. There is a mildew smell in so many rooms and hallways.
I had to move rooms the manager said I should get used to it as we are by the beach. I moved to another Hotel and it was superior and wonderful.
This was my third and final visit to AlohaLani.

The property was very convenient and close to many places. The hotel should offer daily room cleaning for the price paid. The balcony we had was dirty on arrival and wasn't cleaned.

This property is run down and old. The rooms are v basic and the furniture is rather simple. At the same time, the rooms are not sound proof and that impacts the sleep a lot. Reception and concierge are v poorly staffed. My check in took over half an hour.

We really like the helpfulness of staff and the service they have provided. The swell bar pool experiences are great. We love the lei making and of course the aquarium. Christmas in Alohilani was a wonderful experience for us with all the decorations.

I only write reviews when something really sucks and man this place sucks so much….I’m writing this review as I’m waiting for 15 minutes for the elevator! Check in takes FOREVER! The elevator stops on every single floor and the toilet is so low to the ground it feels like I’m at daycare! The resort fee covers free beach towels, chairs, paddleboards, umbrellas - so cool right! WRONG everything is gone by 10am….they even ran out of towels!!!! I wouldn’t come back here

Great Modern Stylish Option that Stands Out
One of the few modern takes on the Hawaiian stay in Honolulu that is stylist, tasteful & contemporary - the lounge access is definitely worth the investment considering how much it costs to each anywhere in town!

Their front desk and concierge were excellent. My biggest "pet peeve" was their policy that rooms were cleaned every other day..and times you would have to wait until 7pm to have the bed made!

The resort was extremely well presented. The beautiful Christmas decorations added to this. The massive indoor aquarium is also an amazing feature. The roof top pool, dining, relaxing area was also a a lovely feature. Being able to hire surfboards for very affordable price a short walk down the street was great. We would recommend the Alohilani Resort!

Good restaurants within walking distance. Concierge was excellent help with excursions, coffee cafes, and restaurants.

I like a lot of things about this hotel, the aquarium, the location, the design. It checked a lot of boxes except for the room. The renovation of the hotel didn't seem to upgrade the beds and ventilation. The beds were old that you can feel the mattress sinking. The ventilation was blowing air directly toward the bed which made it very uncomfortable to have constant cold air blowing to your head. I had to stack up a pile of pillows beside me so that i can sleep.

The resort itself was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The pool was worth the price alone. I will say the room smelled of mildew, the tub was old, and the phone didn’t work but the beds were super comfortable and house keeping did a good job. The gym was great. The shop are super cute. Would recommend.

Our Alohilani Resort Stay.
The Hotel appears to be newly bought and renovated with limits. Still rust around the bathroom metal. The mattress was old with a new mattress pad. The furniture was old and damaged and the pillow suck. As far as cleanliness is was clean. However, you only get room service every other day and for the nightly room rate plus amenities charge seems to be a bit ridiculous that you have to call housekeeping and ask for towels and toiletries. They do have a rental car facility right in the hotel lobby and that is very convenient and easy to use. Not much for food locations within hotel. Bell service is on the ball. Elevators were fast and efficient. Onsite refillable water bottles.

Great place, rooms are nice, they have hospitality room to freshen up (45min) if flight departure later in the day. There was couple nights that were loud, some party next door hotwl or somewhere near but with closed balcony door it wasnt too bad.

I was upgraded to an ocean front room but apart from the view from balcony the room was not Premium. I had to remind housekeeping to clean toilets. Room ceiling had cobwebs. Balcony was not cleaned. Bar fridge kept freezing items in fridge. Really not a good experience. The pool was good but could only use it the morning. By lunch time the sun had disappeared and winds had increased. I guess that’s nature. Swell Bar was good but hit and miss with the exorbitant cocktails. Occasionally the cocktails would not have alcohol as requested. I would not stay here again. There are other hotels that are much nicer.

This place is definitely a cool spot if you want to be in the heart of Waikiki. We went on our honeymoon and enjoyed most of our stay but here's the run down.
Pros:
Close to beach and good restaurants
Walking distance from many things
Free beach and pool towels
Cons:
Extra fees when arriving. Had to pay "resort fee"but nothing about this place felt like I was staying at a resort. If breakfast and drinks were included, sure I'd happily pay that but not sure why a resort fee is charged.
LOUD!! Music plays late at the bar on site and all around town. Bring ear plugs!
There were no fitted sheets? They only used a top sheet in place of a fitted sheet. Kind of gross and our mattress was exposed- yuck!
Went to continental breakfast there one day- it was $40 per person.. wow! Expensive!

Absolutely terrible gouging people charging $48 to self park. We pay a resort fee every day and one day couldn't use the pool area because there was a function.Pr-payed for a breakfast buffet every day we stayed there but found out on Sat/Sun you have to choose from a 3 item menu because starting at 9am a more expensive brunch was bieng served.

This is maybe our 4th time staying here, twice since the renovations, the hotel itself is lovely, nice rooms, comfy beds. But that’s where it ends, the last two times the hot tub has been over run with children in diapers! Considering they charge a huge resort fee for an area we haven’t been able to use either time is crazy. We did complain to management every time but they would come over and not ask the parents to take the children out, I don’t care about babies in the pool but hot tub should be adults only, I’m not paying money to sit in dirty nappy water!! They offered us a $200 credit which couldn’t be used for the resort fee or for drinks at the pool, we argued and had the resort fee waived, we won’t be staying again, take away if you have kids this is a great choice for you!! If you are an adult couple and wish to use the amenities then I would find another option. Repeat this is a kids hotel!

Just an overall bad experience. Overpriced stay and everything is stained. It’s interesting how they charge so much and the pictures of the property looks so stunning, but you get to the property everything carpeted as well as couches/bedding is stained like they do not believe in actual cleanliness here. The prettiest part of the place is not used and in the back of the property, where no one wants to go because we all go to Hawaii for the views/ serenity. Seems backwards to put the focal point of their photos in the back where there is no sun shinning. The front desk is robotic. The only plus is that it’s close to the beach. Noticed that the black people were stationed by the exit stair case. Just extremely unwelcoming to my kind and won’t ever be back here again. Stereotypical, but I guess this is still America

Loved starting here, the property feels luxurious but at an affordable price. Views were breathtaking no matter what area you were in, we stayed in the partial ocean view which was even better than the full ocean view in my opinion because not only did we get the ocean view but also the city and mountains. The staff were all so wonderful and very quick to help and very friendly. The restaurants in the hotel were great and the pool is very nice. Definitely will be staying here again in the future!

Alohilani is conveniently located in the middle of Waikiki, a short walk to the Blue Note for great entertainment in an intimate venue serving great food, surrounded by fine restaurants and across from the famous Waikiki Beach.
The property has the Oceanarium for viewing fish up front, a sizeable jacuzzi and pool, convenient laundry room, shopping for casual beachwear and restaurants with a 20% discount to guests.

i’d give it 5 stars but i had complained about my
bathtub/toliet leaking out water they said maintenance would fix it. Once my husband and I got back from a whole day of exploring we realized they still hadn’t fixed also, i told housekeeping not to come in my room and clean multiple yimes but they still did anyway my entire stay. Other then that the place was beautiful and very convenient!

We had a very nice stay. Honestly, we have stayed much nicer hotels with the same star ratings. Parking was ridiculous and the $48.00 per night charge was very unreasonable. We did not get a self parking space until day 2 of our stay. Adolescents around the pool area were very unruly and staff did nothing to curb their behavior. Printer was broke in business center so we could not print boarding passes. Staff said they were too busy to address the problem upsetting several customers. However, beach access was great as well as view from balcony. Nearby shopping and restaurants were great. We would stay there again but not committed enough to not shop for other hotels.

So to start I’ll say the resort itself was lovely with a beautiful lobby, an amazing tropical fish tank in one of the restaurants, and a great pool. The location was very central to everything in Waikiki and the staff were friendly. However, our room was disappointing. The painted floor of our patio was peeling and therefore paint chips were tracked everywhere whenever we walked on it. Also our shower door was poorly designed. It was an open style with only a half door which is fine normally, but the one in our room did not contain the water so the bathroom floor would get soaked every time we took a shower. Overall the bathroom felt extremely cheap. There was only one towel hook so we were constantly using the back of a chair for towels. Also the sheets on the bed felt cheap, almost like plastic. During one of the room cleanings we didn’t get a fitted sheet on the bottom, just a flat sheet that would shift around and expose the mattress. Overall, the room itself was not great. The parking was very pricey and their garage was quite full. We usually found a spot but it was a bit stressful. Considering the resort cost we don’t think we would stay again. Hopefully they update the rooms soon.

Our room was listed as ocean view, we were on the side of the hotel and had to lean way outside the railing to see the ocean. We're discovered after prepaying for room on Expedia, that parking was 55$ extra per day, extra resort fee of 75$day, tree fee 5$, taxes, and fees, all totalling more than our room cost for the week. No daily room service, and only two towels for two adults. Nothing at all was complementary, not even water or coffee in lobby! There was so much more, but there was nothing resort about this alohalani except the fees!

Overall, we had a good stay at Alohilani Resort. The service was good and staff was friendly. The rooms were a good size but the restroom size and structure could use some adjustments. They also did not include a microwave and our fridge barely kept anything cold. We also paid for the breakfast buffet but the options were extremely limited and it seems like on weekends you must order from a limited menu.
I would stay at Alohilani resort again.
