Perfect Location
The location of this place is hard to beat if you are looking at spending time in Seattle Center. It's only a mile walk to downtown and nearby public transit options make it easy to get around town. I enjoyed the unique qualities of this hotel and feel it was a great choice as someone staying in town for several days. The kitchenette area, small lounge space and comfortable bed gave me enough space to hang out and not feel cramped. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a place with character!

Disappointing service
When we arrived, our reservation wasn't in the system for some reason. I had booked through Hotels.com, so I simply re-booked on my phone. Yarumi was the front desk clerk and was less than pleasant. She seemed irked that we booked through a 3rd party site. We had gold status and VIP access, when I asked if there was a room upgrade available (as listed), she snapped that we had free valet, which was a separate perk. We've stayed here many times and won't be back.

The place is quite old and has poor ventilation. The smell of mold or old bones is so thick in the air all your clothes will become scented with it. Hard to be in the room with the smell. Also there are no sitting arrangements for the large room. No couch coffee table. Just an old dirty chair. And an uncomfortable kitchen area. I would not stay here again.

There was a musty old smell everywhere which was a bit off-putting.

Very old property. Bathroom wall was broken and dirty. Room smelled so strong (moist). Furniture are old (sofa leather is so torn so bad).
I paid the price of supposedly 3.5 stars for a cheap motel room.
Not a decent place for $355/ 2 nights.
I want to request (some) refund of my money,, if possible.

For the size of the room it needed more furniture. Very old and need more shelfs in the bathrom for personel hygeine stuff. Neede more plugs on the walls for phones to charge next to bed. Amd more shelf space to put our things on so we are not having to work off the floor. But i do understand it is an old building. Bed was comfortable and clean. Hotel was quiet. It was just weird.

Weekend in Seattle
All of the staff we encountered at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. It is an historic hotel and that is clearly evident through the unique and charming features of the hotel lobby and the room. However, we had hoped that at least the plumbing had been updated. Taking a shower was tricky as the water temperature changed frequently. We can only assume it was based on other flushing toilets and showers. The water went from boiling to freezing. The room was spacious, the wood floors beautiful but very squeaky, and the kitchen was just old and run down. The location of the hotel was great for us and very walkable to restaurants and a very nice market.

I spent two nights at this hotel with a friend, as we were attending a concert at Climate Pledge arena. We really loved this neighborhood, and how much historic charm the building, and surrounding area had, while also being within walking distance of a lot of amenities. There are some really great shops and restaurants/ cafes nearby that the front desk recommended. I booked a double queen room and had a wonderful view of the space needle from the main windows, and a really quaint breakfast nook that was great for sipping coffee and watching the rain.

The staff at this hotel could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The room was clean, everything worked and the bed was very comfortable. The walk downtown was a straight shot although pretty long for my feet! The restaurant across the street - Toulouse Petit - is excellent - we ate dinner there both nights in Seattle. The downside: although the public space looks like the photos, our room was far shabbier. The wood floor was seriously scuffed. The leather on the two sitting chairs was cracked. Electric lines ran through conduits that had been painted but not dusted all the way around for some time. The room overall had no apparent design esthetic. The window air conditioner barely kept the temperature around 77 and was impervious to adjustment. So, as long as you're ready to get a room like the one we had (on the third floor), the hotel does have some good features.

Location near to Space Needle and Chahully Museum was very convenient. I like the history of the property and do not mind the weathered look of the room furniture since it makes it look more original. BEWARE!!
We checked in at 2AM and checked out at 9AM. Had it not been 2AM when we arrived, we would not have checked in at all. Immediately we noticed an overwhelming musty smell that was terrible even in the room. This smell made two of our family members ill forcing us to find other accommodations.
We travel a lot and often choose historical boutique hotels but have never had an experience like this.
We asked for an exception to cancellation policy but hotel management refused. We understand and respect policy but believe that more honest reviews of this hotel are needed as anyone with allergies or those prone to migraines need to avoid this hotel!!
Further, the room did not look anywhere near as charming as the photos. We didn’t take any because we left as soon as possible.

I liked the friendliness of the staff. Christian in particular, at the reception is pure joy, always smiling, great 'asset' for the hotel. Hotel, despite the fact that shows signs of 'age' it's a lovely place. Yes, it doesn't have a lift, but with max 3 floors to walk up, unless you have some physical impediment it shouldn't be a problem. The only drawback is the area around the hotel (nothing the hotel can do about), it's really a let down.Lots of run down or closed places and lots of homelesses camping on the streets. Really sad to see.

Very retro, could imagine a long gowned lady on the arm of her well dressed man while waving cigarette in a holder gliding down the beautiful staircase flanked by roaring 20s era thick curved banister.
Rooms are clean, thin strip wooden floors, like a 1930s era apartment with a kitchenette, a small alcove with a couch and very comfy beds. Throwback bathroom with modern upgrades, quaint furnishings, quiet. It is a stay unlike an experience you get at a box hotel. Loved it. Very friendly staff.
