The location was very convenient. I was disappointed that my adult son, who was on the reservation as a paid for, attending guest, was not given access to his room till I arrived, very late in the night (my flight was much later than his). He was very tired, but waited patiently in a stark and uncomfortable reception area till I arrived. I was denied verbal confirmation to give him access to the room for which was paid.
I was also charged an additional $25 "reservation fee" for both nights of my stay upon checking out. (???)

Way to overpriced! Yea it’s across from Central Park but it’s gross and dirty! Wallpaper coming off the walls, holes in the wall, dirt stuck to bottom of shower. OLD AC units covered in dust and mold! Rugs throughout the buildings and in the room are beyond dirty, ripping up and repulsive! I could have found a cleaner space to sleep IN CENTRAL PARK under a tree than this place! The whole room smelt like chemicals when you walk in and not cleaning ones! Called some asking for an additional pillow and towel and they never brought them up for us! SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOTTTT STAY AT THIS DISGUSTING PLACE!!

This property is located in a bad area, and it's in bad shape. Let along not even a coffee maker in the room. Everything is super old. It has a window AC making a tractor level noise. Never coming back.

I have never left a review before, but after my one night stay here I felt the need to do so. Do not stay here. The hotel staff was very nice, but the room did not look like the pictures at all.. it was dingy and gross.. there was stuff on the walls, stains on the mattresses, no phone or clock, and had a musty smell. To top it all off around 8:30am a man (who did not work for the hotel) used a key to open our door and tried to come in while we were still asleep. We are two younger girls in our 20s. We felt so unsafe. Thank goodness we had our top lock pushed over. Then about 25 minutes later hotel staff knocked on our door until we responded to ask us if we needed anything?? Found very odd especially since checkout wasn’t until 12pm. Stay far away.

Property was not well maintained or as advertised. During my stay I also encountered bugs, was disgusting. Brought it to hotel management's attention and was ignored after 3 attempts. Very disappointed! Will obviously not be going back and don't recommend anyone else go to this hotel due to the bugs issue and of course the poor conduct from hotel manangement.

This hotel is a good deal for the money. It's in NYC next to Central Park and the subway! That said, it's very basic as people have said. The elevator is small and slow but at least there is one! I found free parking nearby on the street. No amenities but you're just there to sleep and the beds were comfortable and clean.

The lighting was awful so dark and gloomy. The bathroom was teeny tiny and with shelf tilting and leaky toilet. I was charged a fee upon checkin which I was told would be refunded, it was not. Nor was the room serviced each day as also told upon check in.

Disappointed CHI-Town visitor
Rugs not cleaned or vacuumed, toilet tank & floors cracked, tub was filthy, window was broken and the bed was very uncomfortable. Rooms are literally to small for two peoples. I would never stay at this hotel again

Will Not Be Back
The location is perfect, however, the lock on my door did not work; elevator can only hold 2 people; ice available only in the bathroom; requested items such as cups, towels, etc, and did not receive them, even after multiple visits to the front desk, because we could not call from the room.

The hotel room was very dirty when we arrived. We had to set towels on the bathroom floor because it was so dirty. The toilet flooded on our last night with nothing in it to stop it up and it flooded into the carpet in the room. The people downstairs came up because their ceiling was leaking from thr flood. The hotel did not give us money back, did not allow us to stay in another room or even check out. We were forced to stay in that room that night bc it was 3:00 am and all other hotels were booked. Our experience at the Park West Hotel was very poor and the worker was very rude.

The staff is great. The hotel, not so much.
This is probably one of the jankiest hotels I have ever stayed in and would not recommend it to anyone. For context, I was traveling for work for two weeks.
Here is what bothered me:
- No deadbolt on the door
- No safe in the room
- No chair at the tiny "desk"
- No mini fridge
- Room was minute
- There was no shelf or counter space, no drawers, and the closet was a half closet so all of my dresses and pants had a wrinkle in them where I had to fold them to fit.
- The floor was uneven and had holes where it seemed like someone stomped through the floor and they just covered it up with carpet. The carpet also felt dirty.
- Cold showers for probably 10 of the 15 days that I was there. Didn't matter what time of the day I showered (before 7 am, after 9 am, 10 pm) - all of them were freezing cold.
- Walls were paper-thin. I could hear every movement from the hallway, upstairs and next door neighbors.
- The room's AC unit is installed via the window so on cold days, my room was freezing.
- The hotel just feels old (old carpet, old fixtures, old furniture)
- Blankets were scratchy and need to be replaced. I think they were burned in the dryer.
What I liked:
- WiFi actually worked and was free
- Free water every day
- Bed and pillows were decent
- Offered C.O. Bigelow soap and shampoo
- I did not see any bugs
- The staff were helpful and kind
- Same day laundry service on the next block
Overall, I would NOT stay here again. It is TERRIBLE for business travel.

Avoid this place it's a dump
Honestly this place is a dump, subway running right under your bed two floors down. Floor so uneven it's like traversing a mountain trail, elevator unreliable and slow.

I made a same day reservation at this hotel & called to make sure they had my reservation, whoever I spoke to on the phone must have misunderstood because when I got to the hotel I’m told they cancelled my reservation and I wasn’t given any notification or email (not even three days later) that it was cancelled.
The sole reason I’m rating two stars is for the receptionist Briana who helped me, she was an absolute gem and had a room cleaned for me last minute so I wouldn’t be stranded.
The hotel room itself looked nothing like the photos online, it looked like an old NYC apartment building that they stuck a bed in & hung up a modern looking art canvas from tj maxx and called it a hotel.
The bathroom had mold in the grout, the mirror was cracked, the wall behind the toilet was rusted, the paint on the tub was peeling like crazy, the baseboard by the door was missing pieces, the door to the room couldn’t be locked from the inside so I slept with a door propped up against the knob for added security.
I would never come back to this hotel again unless it’s to visit Briana.

Great location. Very small room. No mini fridge. No coffee maker. No coffee in lobby either. The shower gets dangerously HOT. Like instant scalding, burn your skin hot. Super dangerous. Not kidding. When we arrived we had no bath towels, but they were prompt to deliver.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at Parkwest. The room is on the small side and there's no parking. We managed to find a parking lot that still had space and would accommodate overnight parking for the price of $50 per 24 hours. Other than that, we were happy with the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great, right across the street from Central park. Subway and bus stops close by. And best of all, it is cheaper than most hotels in Manhattan. We would stay again in the future.

Where do l start with with this? First the hotel was extremely dirty, it looked like it had not been cleaned for years. Bathroom awfully dirty same with the carpet, beds and everything else. The property was very outdated and everything l touched just broke down. First it was the shower handle, then the remote and then the door lock. The radiator made a very annoying noise all the time. No refrigerator in the room as well. Terrible terrible experience, l travel often to New York and l will make sure to never return to this property again.

The room was very small.
Heating not working, when we asked they said the temperature of Newyork is normal
So they don’t run a boiler.
No hot water on tub and when i tried to leave the water open the tub was clogged..

The people working there are great but hotel was way disappointing. The photos on the website are deceiving-room are super small, very old, no light at all, bathroom and a/c super old and noisy. We ended up paying a crazy amount for what is in my opinion just a two star hotel. Again, people working there are super nice and helpful, but the images should show what it is.

Beds were too low there was no heat thin blankets, elevator was soo small can only fit two people, you can hear other people from the rooms loud noise was coming from the heater I told front set they couldn’t do nothing about it, I was at 7am for at least 30 minutes I would not recommend even just for a place to sleep was not even worth it

The rooms was very unclean. I found several bunche of hair in the bathroom - non mine - and realized the "bath kit" was reused from previous guest, so it was disguting.
The whites feels dirty and gross, so it wasn't satisfaying keep there.

The property was in a great location, and the room was a good size for the area. The staff were friendly, but I was disappointed in the housekeeping services. Housekeeping did not come during our visit, though I requested a change of sheets. The linens were poor quality, very scratchy. The room did not have a mini fridge as advertised, and the heat was turned up so high we had to run the window AC constantly, which made it hard to sleep.

We didn't actually stay at the property, we were sent to a different hotel due to the boiler not working at Park West. The Bentley however was not the best of stays. The AC didn't work it was too hot in our room, could hear the neighbors, and I was charged a hotel service fee even though I was told I wouldn't have to pay it. I would have rather stayed at Park West but I understand.

They didn't have a room for me. Sent me to a different hotel on the other side of town. that hotel was not clean, staff was not nice, they made me feel like I was a hassle and was unpleasant to deal with. I pick this hotel so I would be close to my job due to bad weather. wouldn't recommend this hotel or the Bentley hotel to anyone else

Worst Stay Ever
I was really hoping to receive a call today to redeem this review, but Yaya, the manager, never called me back. I had booked this hotel because of the location and quiet area in the city. It was relatively cheap too, so I expected a similar range of service that I would get from a motel 6. However, motel 6 does not provide me with blood on my towels, broken TV's and a random lip gloss left on the bed. Motel 6 also does not label their towels as if they were going to retrieve the towels if they were to get stolen. The mattress also must have been 20 years old. I could feel the springs in my back. Another reason I chose this hotel because of the 24/7 concierge desk because I wasn't sure when I would be arriving or leaving during my stay and even upon arrival into NY. However, when I arrived around 6am, there was no one at the desk. I rang the bell and I called the front desk a few times to get their attention and no one came. So I tried to contact a couple hotels nearby to see if I can get a booking but as I was doing that someone showed up at the desk. He was very friendly and apologized and I appreciated that. I offered to pay to check in early since I realize that was almost a full day, but he felt bad for making me wait so he gave me the room early. I really appreciated that and thought of it as great customer service. When I arrived into the room, it looked like it had been cleaned except there was used lip gloss on the bed, which is really disgusting and goes against all

The property was tired and so was I.
I chose this place as it was close to my son’s new apartment. Location is nice. It’s a pretty old building. My phone didn’t work and the remote for the tv worked intermittently. The night guy didn’t care and wouldn’t help me. There were water stains on the ceiling. It was depressing. After the second night not being able to turn tv off, I asked for help in the morning. The man was very nice and super apologetic. They moved me to a nicer room. It had no phone, so problem solved there. The window was stuck open on one of the coldest cold snaps in years. The maintenance man fixed it. Just so much work to get a decent night’s sleep. It could be such a charming property with a little maintenance and upkeep.

Excellent! We stayed at a room with queen bed and we had a great time! Just about every hotel in the city is small so with that in mind it was great and convenient to subway and everything! We hope to stay here again. Recommend!

I would day this hotel is lucky to get two star's. We were disappointed with the staff and so called renovations. Amenities are desperately lacking and during our stay our sheets were never changed nor was the room ever cleaned. I wouldn't suggest staying here. It provides the bare minimum and not a thing more.

It was a nice area of The Park.. Good water pressure in shower.. Good hotel WiFi.. Close to orange Subway…. I was rudely awakened by slamming and banging pipes in the room and walls, other were terrified by the random noise from 2Am till 4:45am.. Stool in the toilet when I got this room, tv remote doesn’t work, no cable TV channels (no CNN or ESPN etc), leaking radiator, blood on top of toilet seat, smell of mildew in room.. The pipe banging was like an NFL linebacker slamming two giant quart pans together for hours.. there was no sleeping.. on both nights.. Worst hotel experience of my life.. the staff was extremely kind and friendly and receptive to my complaints and gave me a card to email this feedback.. I want my money back!! I use Travelocity all the time for my Trios and booking.. I’m so embarrassed about how terrible this experience was.. the Staff was very kind expos-facto.. I’ll never stay here again unless they fix all these issues, even then, this place was absolutely horrible!!

The staff was very responsive to our requests for extra towels, blankets, and a hair dryer. They were quick to fix other items that needed to be addressed including a window that was left open.
The location is right across from Central Park and the subway is a block away.
The room was very small (as expected) and configured in such a way that you had to lift your luggage over the bed; there wasn't room to roll a suitcase around the bed to get to the other side of the room. There was a window but it faced a back alley.
The temperature of the room was hard to control; it had a radiator. We had to blast the ac (even though it was 30 degrees out) a few times because it got very warm once our radiator was fixed. The staff did tell us to let them know if it needed to be adjusted, but we usually came in very late at night, too late to want to bother with it. And the rooms did not have phones to call the front desk.
There was also one outlet that did not work which did make charging all our electronics tricky.
Overall, the rooms are not fancy but are clean and up-to-date, and the staff made the stay enjoyable.

The hotel is in a primetime location and close to the metro and many small and great places to eat, small shops, and easy access to Central Park and the museums nearby. However, the hotel needs some love and care, the common areas are not cleaned regularly, the rooms may use some newer appliances and doorknobs. The bed and linens were great, however, there was some minor insect infestation. A small cash bar and cash food option would be useful.

This hotel was an old property whose age revealed itself the longer you stayed. Thin walls and floors amplified the comings and goings of the rooms next to and above us. If they set an alarm, you heard it, too. At 5 a.m. the old radiator pipes began banging and pinging waking us on our “getaway to NYC and sleep in” weekend.
The room was cramped and stuffy with the only air circulation coming from a loud window air conditioner unit that blew frigid air at one high and loud fan level into the room on and off throughout the night.
Garbage from other hotel tenants sat in the narrow hallways for hours and the thin common carpets showed dirt and crumbs. Wallpaper in our room was buckling off the wall in large bubbles.
Old. Noisy. Cramped. Neglected. For over $250 per night (with all taxes and fees added) we hoped for a fresher, quieter stay.

Our billing was horrible! Many phonecalls to the hotel by me. I was lied to, I was promised a refund on my card which they did not have permission to use, it was supposed to be changed to my fiances card and he was supposed to get a refund for part of his bill. The hotel took full responsibility for their mistake and promised a refund within 10 days on both cards. It’s now been almost a month and we have seen nothing I spoke to the hotel yesterday they said they were going to get in touch with management and have them get back to me yesterday when in the first press she told me that they weren’t open on Saturdays she then changed it to yes they’re open on Saturday and we will have someone call you. This was after they knowledged their mistake and promised a refund. My name is Amy Wurfbaum , my phone number is 845-616-6191 I would appreciate a phone call from someone or I am going to go higher as I am incredibly frustrated and angry when somebody makes a mistake they rectify it and in this case the reason was promised to both of us and there was no rectifying the problem

Dingy at Best
When I entered room - temperature was somewhere in the mid-80's - very hot...coming out of an old cast iron radiator. There is no thermostat on wall - so I turned down temperature as best I could on the radiator, and turned on the AC window unit on high. It's December by the way. Desk has no chair, so had to move it close to bed to be able to sit, and work on laptop. TV only gets 3 spanish speaking channels. No hangers in wardrobe armoire. No plastic bag for dirty clothes. Ice is in basement (place has 11 floors). Windows were filthy, and looked out onto an "air" shaft. Hallway rugs could have used a vaccumming - Staff was very nice, but place was dingy at best.

Misleading Listing
The photo of the room appears enhanced and is misleading. When we arrived, we were surprised with the actual room - 1 star! The room is very small, cramped, and needs a detailed cleaning. The beds are rock hard, very uncomfortable. The door safety lock is broke. The tv remote was nasty and did not work, even with new batteries. Changed channels manually, 1/2 the channels did not work, very cheap tv. I do not recommend this room.

The photos of the site are not representative of the room conditions. The owners can take a look in unit 201, particularly in the bathroom to see. I understand that NYC hotels are much worse than the rest of the country, I've stayed in hundreds of hotels. This hotel will be a great place once they fumigate (roaches are a thing in NYC, but I shouldnt have to kill them myself), update the rooms (mold and rust/loose tiles and wall paper) , and teach the staff how to be helpful (call the hotel and ask almost any question to see). The location is amazing and there is hope, just dont expect much. I wish I had taken my family somewhere else.

Ultimately the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, which is the most important factor to me. The room also had a nice view of Central Park.
However, the facilities were in a total state of disrepair - the halls were in horrible shape, the bath faucet was sticking out of the wall by 2 inches, the hot water frequently ran out before we could finish a shower, many outlets in the room didn’t work, and the tv had a crack across the bottom corner of the screen. There were no drawers in the space, so the only clothing storage was 4 hangers and a small shelf in the wardrobe.
We also booked a stay for 2 people and were only provided one bath towel, and we had to ask twice over the course of 12 hours to finally be provided more.
Overall, I wish I would have spent more for a more comfortable stay elsewhere.

This property is nothing like the pictures. It is very dirty and smelly. The service was terrible, no customer service.
