This was a great stay. Would totally stay again. Although a bit older property with doors opening to the exterior instead of to an indoor corridor, it was very well maintained, clean, great staff, good breakfast with lots of options. Price was great. Location was perfect close to the Everglades and Key Biscayne national parks. And pretty much the last stop before you hit the keys. Perfect

Nice hotel.
Nice hotel. Bed was a little too firm for me but they do give you 6 pillows. Shower was good with excellent water pressure. Hotel was VERY quiet.
I would definitely stay here again.

Staff was kind and kept up with cleaning. The room smelled a little weird but it was bearable. Very accessible and had a good variety for breakfast. I just wish they hada tb that could access streaming platforms like Hulu and Netflix. Overall I had a good stay, no problems.

Over all satified
Our door had to be checked daily because it didn’t shut at the way. Came back one day and pushed it right open because it wasn’t latched shut. The pool area was being stained while we were there. The smell came right thru the crack under the door. The fumes were terrible

The hotel was centrally located to access the Keys , Everglades and Miami. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.The only thing I can ding them on is the bed and pillows. The bed was in desperate need of replacing and the pillows were hard like they were stuffed with rags. The exterior and grounds were clean and kept up with lots of lighting.

To be totally honest I hate posting this review but I think it's the right thing to do. The pool is unsafe for families. The floor is painted with a semi-gloss type paint. During my short visit to the pool area with my grandson I fell once and then slipped twice on to my right knee. Our bathroom toilet kept running all night. The door to our room would not work with the key. To top it off the breakfast staff was very short and rude. I asked for some yogurt as it was empty she told me she was busy and that I would have to wait. After a 15 minute wait while she cleaned off counters packing up breakfast I finally got yogurt. I don't like to do things like this but I feel that it's important to be honest especially when things are this bad. I did not stay the 3rd night and checked out. I was credited for the last night stay and moved to a hotel closer to the airport. When you go somewhere on vacation you want to be treated well and spoiled a little and this was not the case.

Rusted closet door and mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The chair is wear out years before. How could they still use the facility like that? The room always smells Nasty and moldy. No matter how low temperature you keep you air condition on. Couldn't believe it is a 3 star hotel.

They told us that the pool was not open because of chemicals, but no other explanation given which was odd. Breakfast was not great, room was dirty. The door to the room did not close properly either and considering it opens to outside I would say this is unacceptable. Would not recommend staying here

Location is convenient.
But surrounding is very noisy, and noise was loud, and sound insulation is like none.
Room smells bad. And there is no way to ventilate it.
Queen bed is not a queen size, it is a double size. Its like you bought a dozen of eggs, you got home you found there are only 10 eggs.

They have one of the best breakfast offerings of anywhere we have stayed. The only reason I gave them only five stars was because the pool was closed for several days. Security on staff checking parking area.

Location was what it was picked for. A rest stop before heading to Key West. It met our needs well and was pleased with how clean and comfortable it felt. Pool area was nice, breakfast met our needs and overall price point was great compared to others.

The hotel location is perfect , right before the keys .
But the hotel management and certain and amenities are in decline .
Poor attention to the rooms and proper cleaning , no mopping or sweeping of the rooms.
My bathroom smelled like urine when I checked in!!

Honestly, this was a great stay. I was a little skeptical because of the price but it’s definitely worth it. Very clean. Staff was nice and it had everything I needed. I’ll be staying here again the next time I visit. Only thing is the walls are thin.

We arrived at approx. 2pm and was told that we would have to pay $35 for early check in? Otherwise come back after 4pm. This has never happened before and we will not book at this Best Western Again.

External aspects of the hotel were fine, but the room interiors seemed to be a time warp from the 1970s. In particular, the air conditioning system was loud and inefficient. Major renovations would be welcome. On the positive side, staff was helpful and accommodating.

This BW is well positioned for The Everglades NP but is tired and in need of an overhaul. Our aircon gave out a pretty foul smell somewhere between wet dog and compost heap. We both have sore throats after sleeping with the cooling turned on. The pool was nice after a long, hot day in the swamps and the bed/linen was comfy. Others have previously mentioned feeling unsafe in the immediate vicinity but that was not our experience. We walked to local restaurants two nights running and felt completely safe before and after dark…

The hotel room floor was extremely dirty. I could not walk on the floor bare foot, my white socks was very very dirty from walking on the floor. The tv remote not the AC in the room worked properly. The rooms need a more thorough cleaning…..I would not recommend here if you are use to nicer accommodations…..PS. The staff was friendly though

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for, good rate, clean and partly remodeled works for me! Room had ice cold small fridge, comfortable bed and pillows, new tv, working alarm clock, good lighting, iron plus ironing board (in case you need it), was spotlessly clean and pretty much everything was as one would expect or better. Did notice garbage truck picking up the garbage next to room 201 at 3am but I had no trouble going back to sleep, and also, Miami and Miami-Dade and City of Miami are as dirty and corrupt as they get so I was glad to stay in Homestead or Florida City and thus, contribute to country or remote living down south and to its primarily agricultural community. I don’t think this hotel even accepts locals (residents of Miami) which says a lot, and despite having lived there over 40-years, I agree. Miami just isn’t the same, the scum and corrupt have taken over, including the dirtiest firefighters in the country!

I had a very nice 3-night stay. Queen bed in goood condition, with good bedding. In suite mini fridge, microwave, couch, table. Large room (end unit, 201). The pool (salt water) and area are very well kept and clean, but PLEASE STOP ALLOWING SMOKING. That was a problem for me on the end, and in the pool area. Breakfast is included, nothing special. Very quiet room, in typical "hotel row" area right by Hy 1/Tamiami Trail, so very convenient in to town/Homestead and out to Keys and Everglades Nat Park.

We had a great stay this time. The hotel is close to Everglades and many airboat docks. Breakfast options are great and delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. Parking is easy to find. We travelled light since we could do laundry here - although a bit pricey in my opinion ($8 to soap wash and dry one load). Overall, thank you for a great time.

Friendly but the property is deteriorating
The staff of the hotel were friendly however the physical conditions are deteriorating. While I was waiting to check in one, customer came to the front desk and said his room was flooding from the air conditioner and the refrigerator. I also heard another guest complaining and the desk clerk offered her another room. When we got to our room the air conditioner was also leaking and water was out 2 feet in front of it on the floor. So they relocated us as well because no maintenance was on duty after 5 PM.

Overall the Experience was very good if there’s one area that can improve is to have a change machine in the laundry area since management were out of coin/change so that was an inconvenience and had to leave the hotel to go on a hunt for a coin operated laundromat. Almost a 5 star experience but because of this I couldn’t do it.Laundry coin change and bigger area can definitely make it a 5 star hotel.

The first night i arrived the A/c unit did not work it was supper hot and uncomfortable for me and my 4 kids. Was moved to a different room just to have the same issue but would not be given a refund. So all around bad experience

Definitely no!! if you have to stay in this area, it’s worth the money to spend to choose a newer Hotel. Pros: The staff was very kind & helpful & the room was kept as clean it it could be & the breakfast was great & lots of parking. Cons: No elevators for second floor stay. This is a complete tear down facility & in a bad neighborhood. Vagrants asking for money throughout the parking lot. Police were there when we arrived & we continued to hear sirens all night and morning. The shower tub filled with water quickly and took forever to drain. Looking at the air vents & smells, it’s completely corroded, and filled with mold.

I felt like the area was a little unsafe. The staff was pleasant but really tight on towels for some reason to an annoying point… The place is solid if you aren’t planning to spend a ton of time in the room. The women doing breakfast were pleasant and it was good overall with a lot of options.

The AC broke in both rooms and they didn’t even offer to give us a discount or refund our room. We had children with us and I’m pregnant. They replaced the AC in one room but it still didn’t cool the room, not unless you sit in a chair in front of the ac. Definitely don’t recommend! The housekeeping women were very pleasant though, they even apologized for something that wasn’t their fault, and the woman in charge of breakfast was also very nice.

I picked this location because of the ratings and cost. It was just a one night stay but it lived up to its ratings. I was pleased. I was also traveling alone and felt safe. I did not get to enjoy the breakfast or amenities. I would stay here again!

We enjoyed this property. Our room was very clean & comfortable. The breakfast was also really great & plenty of options. I do think they need to add a second waffle maker though. It was crowded every morning because it takes 3 minutes to cook a waffle & some people would make 2-3 waffles… I also think they need to add a change dispenser in the laundry room so guests don’t have to leave to get change.
