I HAD BUGS BITING ME THE STAFF GAVE ME A HARD TIME CHANGING MY ROOM. I NEEDED A WALK IN SHOWER. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE IN ANY OFF THE ROOMS. THE ROOMS SMELLED OF MOLD, RUG DIRTY BED WAS OLD AND ON WHEELS THE PHONE DIDN'T WORK IN THE ROOM. I HAD TO CALL THE MAIN OFFICE BECAUSE STAFF DIDN'T WANT TO CHANGE MY ROOM. FINALLY THE STAFF SENT ME TO THERE SISTER HOTEL.

Great place, very clean!
The place was clean and fresh. Very nice.
The one thing I did not enjoy was the transition plate on the floor from the living room to the bathroom was over 1/2" of hard marble. Stubbed toe going to the restroom - it hurt I would remove that, it could be a liability. Aside from that, the place was spot on!

I used to live in Miami Beach, like 2 years ago, and now I come back just like tourist. I new already that this is probably the best location I can find. Honestly, experience with this hotel was muuuuch better than my expectation. I was there with my one-year-old daughter and my friend with her also one-year-old son, and we had enough space, everithing was clean everyday and hotel is close to beach, bunch of restaurants and Lincoln mall. Hope I will come back again :)

I stayed at the Marseille because Dorchester was getting renovated. The staff was excellent, very helpful, and friendly. My favorite things about the hotel was the free cocktail happy hour and the food was amazing.

Upon arrival, I was told that the City of Miami had closed the hotel and that I would be moved to the Catalina Hotel down the block. First of all, there were guests in and out of the Dorchester all weekend. So, I think they were lying to me. Second, the Catalina is not the same level of quality as the Dorchester. The room at the Catalina smelled and was next to the lobby which didn't clear out until around 4 a.m. Generally, NOT a good experience.

Friendly staff. Decent restaurant. There is a nice patio area. I didnt try the pool. It was reasonably priced for South Beach.
The drink prices were outrageous. Bring your own. The bellman was slow and there is only one luggage cart.

The hotel was in a great location: close to the beach, shopping and food.
The free happy hour was ok.. only a specific drink of the night and you had to order one drink at a time, but I can’t complain much about free!
The room was small but clean. The humidity was out of control as there are no fans in the bathroom; the whole room always felt damp.

Right off the beach, secluded outdoor pool, pleasant outdoor garden & cafe. Kitchen unable to accommodate any special requests, & front desk not very helpful. We have many dietary special needs, so the bedroom suite with a kitchenette was super convenient. Overall, a nice, quiet, simple hotel.

Horrible horrible horrible I wouldn’t dare recommend the hotel was horrible you can hear everything through walls a loud band plays all night . Front desk lady got over on my money took more money then was supposed to and didn’t think Noticed ... welcome for your tip :) hope u use it towards this low down budget motel . The towels in the bathroom were dirty stains on covers not washed . The heat does not work they have a old fashion heater in the closest to use no microwave in the rooms just horrible you guys should have better service

Great location and good price. Our first night they put us in a room that was facing construction and very noisy. We didn’t realize this until 7:00 when the work began. They moved us that morning to a very quiet room after I complained. Why not give a quiet room to begin...it was clearly available.

I came 7 years ago and the room was much bigger and much more elegant , the rooms are small now and definitely not worth the price. It wasn’t a horrible experience but neither was it the best !. The room was clean and the bathroom too.

The Staff was pleasant. Room was just satisfactory: some cabinets were hard to open, the AC was very outdated, the bathroom was tiny and had rust, the tv and phone did not work, and the room closet was rusty as well but overall clean.

Our stay was perfect! Location really convenient for what my boyfriend and I were looking for. The building facade is not good looking at all!! But, interior is way different. Room was perfect, super clean and comfortable, the only bad thing about that room was it’s location, just right next to the elevator so we could hear everyone’s struggling with luggage etc. Check in was quick, the girl was informative but she missed some important information for example telling us about the security deposit and how much so we had to come back and ask. Pool wasn’t working when I booked it it didn’t show me that. But overall our stay was super good! Customer service has to improve.

My overall experience at the Dorchester was great. Comfortable hotel, great location nice staff and clean room.
I had an issue which was remedied right away. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s in the quiet are on Collins Avenue but close enough to Lincoln road and Walgreens which is 24 hours.

The hotel was a block away from the beach. Happy hour from 6-7pm everyday, drinks are free and you must leave a $1.00 per drink for the tip. The drinks were ok. The female manager that worked on 9/1/2018 in the evening was rude, the pool was closed for some type of deep cleaning and would be closed until the middle of September. There is a sister hotel a block and half away you could use their pool. I tried to explain to the manager it was a hardship, I like to come to the pool not wanting to go across the street and when I called about the cash deposit a week before my trip, the front desk didn’t inform me about the pool. She became very defensive and hard to talk too. The other hotel staff were very nice and accommodated my other needs. The rooms were ok, bed comfortable but the bathroom tile and floor appeared dirty.

Hotel is decent overall. Very convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was a little cozy and could use some ventilation (windows did not even stay open on their own and there was no type of fan/ventilation system in the bathroom). Also, the tub could have been cleaner, but overall the room was good.

The pool, direct tv and workout room were in a state of disrepair. With that in mind, the “resort fee” seemed exorbitant at best. The staff seems ready to do battle at all times, like they’ve heard it all before and have no desire to help. 👎👎👎

The hotel is great. The room was right next to the reception desk. I believe it’s the worst room in the hotel not only next to the reception desk but faced the street on the 1st floor the noise outside was incredible. The room number was 123 you should make sure they never give your hotel.com clients that room it’s worth $65 dollars not what I paid did not sleep the whole night from the noise

When i initially arrived i was given a very dirty room with old furniture and rust. Once i visited the front desk Juan immediately changed my room to one of the newer rooms. This made a huge difference as i enjoyed the hotel and the rest of my stay. Staff is great and it's very close to the beach. I would stay again on my next visit.

I went to Miami to enjoy few days off and wanted to stay in a place where I could feel at home and not just in a hotel. To my surprise, the Dorchester was really homey. I got a suite that was a true 1 BD apartment, and the place was really nice. I even had a balcony. The hotel has a very pleasant, relax feel. It's small and charming, and the hotel's restaurant and bar are very charming and eclectic. In the afternoon, the bar has a happy hour for hotel guests where you can connect and listen to great music. I made some new friends and I left with a feeling that I must come back to this place. It did not feel like a hotel to me, and that's quite important when you want to relax and be comfortable. I definitely recommend it.

First room we checked into fridge busted and room looked overall dirty. They took us to a second room and was a huge improvement! Not 100% sure I would do back but it was a small hotel with Charm. EVERYONE was very nice and helpful.

Stolen Ipad at checkout
My stay at the hotel was enjoyable until the day of my checkout. My daughter informed me that she had left her ipad on the bed of our room #114, and I called the same day to notify the hotel of the incident. I was just told they'll verify with the housekeeping staff and call me back - no one ever called back. I kept calling over the next few days, got the run around, asked to speak to a manager and neither manager Cynthia or Robinson would return calls. ONLY via email they "assured" me that "nothing was found". Complete lie, because I am NOT confused or unsure as to where I left my ipad, I know I left it on the bed, and no other guest gets to the room before the cleaning is done! Supposedly they concluded an "investigation" and nothing was found, the manager Robison said they check the staff's bags DAILY to avoid theft. Makes you wonder what kind of people work there that have to be treated like criminals because they have the potential to steal. That also explains the fact that one of the staff members obviously decided to keep my ipad, and the management plans on doing nothing about it. I was on business in Miami, and considered returning to the Dorchester hotel in the future, as well as recommending it, but after someone just stole my ipad and I got brushed off in an e-mail (couldn't even bother to return a call from either manager), I will be avoiding this place at all cost, and will make sure this review gets posted on all travel sites, so other travelers can be warned.

Nice fir one night.

We booked a “suite” so that it would be equipped with a “full kitchen” as described in the description of the hotel room. We are a family with two kids so our plan was to cook our meals in the room since we find the food in Miami poor and expensive. We were incredibly disappointed that upon arrival the “full kitchen” meant a apartment sized fridge, microwave and sink. No stove or cook top. Very frustrated that we spent extra money on this “suite”. We spent a lot of money unexpectedly eating out because of the lack of amenities in the so called kitchen. This hotel is in need of a complete rehaul. I’m a gym goer and there is a reason that they don’t post pictures of their “gym”. It’s because it should be closed down due to safety concerns on the old, rusted and broken weight machine. It was very dirty and no water in there either. A hole in the wall that staff clearly forgets about. The only good thing in the “gym” is the newer treadmill.
That pool was great and staff was ok. Construction across the road (our bedroom window backed on to) was terrible. We were woken up daily at 7am by jack hammers. The windows are like paper and provide no sound barrier.

Ok hotel, short walk to beach
Overall experience not as great, I didn't spend much time there, was out walking or exploring around for the 4 days there. Rooms are ok, comfortable beds, tv wasn't working as it should (the colors were blury). I let the front desk know about toilet running all night sounded like faucet running... (kept me up) in the morning curtains don't cover like it should to keep light out.. it was dark but like came in... their is construction work going on next to hotel and it was hard to stay in bed in the morning resting before heading out to explore... ppl talking outside where constructioin was going on and different machines loud... (that was the part I hated the most) the pool wasn't clean... was disappointed because I picked this hotel because it said (poolside bar) and it wasn't the case. The happy hour not worth it. Employees at restaurant discussing restaurant issues in front of us. Food not worth a penny. (Ordered the tostones with the beef because they had no shrimp or pork... and they were nasty... Food too expensive for the quality. Had better food and happy hour drinks at other hotel restaurant on that strip (Collins Ave) at great prices and great customer service... I really had high expectations for this hotel after reading reviews. Some of the employees were really nice at the hotel. (Only some)

Spring break and Miami Music week season
Really liked the hotel. It’s close the beach and since we stayed for Miami music week it was super close to the pool parties... Hotel employees super helpful example we used the vending machine but didn’t gave us the water so the manager gave us 2 waters for the 5 minutes wait... Happy hour is great!

Great location, good value for money. Cool little Cuban bar/restaurant in the hotel forecourt. We booked last minute to extend a trip and was very happy with it.

Close to beach
Very convenient for the beach and places to to go and eat. Although if you’re not into the part scene there is a lot of that. Pool was freezing. Walk to beach was short and nice.
