Hidden fees
No where do they state a charge for parking. After check out I received a charge on my credit card for $12 for parking. I also was not informed ahead that my room would be next to two rooms being renovated the adhesive smell was so bad we had to leave for several hours for our room to air out.
The place is in need of renovation so I am glad they are doing it. Warning before check in would be appreciated. Currently the bathroom fan is inadequate, the tub is rusty and the ceilings are in need of retexture.
The bed is good but aged. The pillows are comfortable. Kitchen has a sufficient amount of dishes and cookware to make the place home for a week.
The “free” breakfast is awesome! Real food: sausage/bacon, eggs, waffles and a bread selection

We stayed for four days, and asked for housekeeping service. No one cleaned our room or even took out trash or gave us linens the entire time. I called about it every day, and they said they would come every day and didn’t. I asked for the floor to be vacuumed because we had spilled some crumbs and they told me I could borrow a vacuum. I called and asked for towels, and they asked me to bring my towels down to the front desk to get some more. I am not really picky but I am annoyed that I spent so much money and didn’t get basic things done.

This hotel is nice in the lobby but rooms and tapestries need to be updated/cleaned. There were holes in the towels, bed sheets stained, couch was stained. The bathtub was rusty, the coffee maker appeared to have never been cleaned, there were crumbs in the silverware holder. The condition of the room appeared as no pride was taken in it.

Not what I expected
The kitchenette is a bonus. They have "security guards" who spend most of their time in the lobby. We had our car stolen in the back.They heard nothing. Do not to park there. Big signs they are not responsible for theft. they have NO cameras on property. Coffee great, breakfast offered so so. Would not stay there again. Emailed concerns and the stress of it all. They replied they will "discuss at their next meeting".

Nice place to stay
Great location close to freeways. Room was clean and comfortable. TV didn’t work at first, but a call to the frost desk resulted in a speedy fix. Grounds were nice, with a gas fireplace and pool area (not heated, so too cold to use this time of year). We stayed 6 nights and were told the housekeeper comes every 5 days (staff gladly exchanged used towels for fresh whenever we needed them) but the only cleaning was emptying garbages, bringing towels and running the dishwasher. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned and bed wasn’t made, which was disappointing. Other than that, everyone was pleasant and helpful and a big shout out to Ms. Shirl who was so energetic, professional and hard-working. She was so pleasant we looked forward to seeing her each morning to put a smile on our faces. She keep the breakfast bar fully stocked and always asked if we needed anything. Loved that there were gluten free muffins and oat milk available each day and even vegetarian sausages one morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Check in was delayed several times. After finally getting in to the room there was urine and hair on the toilet seat. The bed was hard as a rock. The next morning the front desk person was no where to be found for 15 minutes(the breakfast attended was searching for her) and they didn't have the promised airport shuttle so they ordered me a shady ass Uber and then tried to charge me for the free parking

Overall it was a decent property. My biggest gripe was the noise. Between the motorcycle group that was there reving their bikes early in the morning and late into the nights and some people literally blasting a loud speaker with horrible rap music that shook the whole building for hours, rest and quiet was hard to come by during my stay. Just be prepared for the noises and surroundings of a busy city when staying here. I had no issues with the physical property or staff.

The staff were very pleasant but the rooms need work. Stains up doorjambs, lots of rust in the tub, dirty windows. The noise from neighbours was terrible. Bedding and kitchen was clean. I felt unsafe walking in the area (I stayed here because the outlet mall was a 7 minute walk).

Parking lot around perimeter was dark and had very poor lighting. The lobby area was dimly lit. The elevator at the extreme end of the Corredor took a long time -30 seconds for the door to close. The room thermostat was not working at all, even though it showed it was set at 67°, at 1 AM I woke up sweating, and it was like 80°. I finally end up shutting the thermostat off.

Very disappointed in this Marriott property!
We waited over 15 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk to check us in. We arrived at around 7:00 pm. The smell of marijuana was horrible and even woke us up in the middle of the night smelling it.
The bed had hair all over the sheets, inside the bed!! had to change the bedding. Bathroom also had hairs in the tub. So gross. Very disappointing for a Marriott property.

We called the hotel while we were on the shuttle bus from the car rental back to the airport. The manager said his shuttle bus would be 20 minutes for the driver to get to the airport. He told us there wouldn't be a back up if we weren't there when the driver arrived. The bus ride from the car rental was only 10 minutes, so we felt this was sufficient time. We were on the bus for only 5 minutes when the driver called and said he was at the airport. We explained we were just about there. He said he had to go back to the hotel and he would come back to get us. We waited about 30 minutes and he never showed and never returned our calls. We had to call and Uber.
The next morning the shuttle driver was not friendly. No greeting in the morning. He just walked by us and opened the van door. I tried to strike up a conversation and asked how he was doing, all I got was an abrupt, "FINE!" The night front desk attendant wasn't an overly warm personality either when we checked in the night before evening.
The hotel room was okay. Not a lot of blankets on the bed if you like it cozy. Our toilet was plugged. The maintenance man was quite attentive and got it unplugged within the hour. In the meantime, I went to use the public toilet in the lobby and it was also plugged.
Don't expect much for breakfast. Milk and yogurt are only available if you ask the attendant for it. Hot breakfast is just a chimichanga in a microwave. Fruit was minimal. It's close to the mall and restaurants.

Bedbugs - stay away
I stayed here for two separate nights, on both stays, it felt like something was crawling all over my body when I was trying to sleep. Beds were extremely uncomfortable, pillows were some of the cheapest feeling pillows I've ever laid on. On the second night, woke up to a bedbug bite, turned on the lights and saw a bedbug crawling around the floor.

It is an extensive property with wonderful rooms for long-stay clients. It is set up for sleeping, dining, working, relaxing and bathroom. Good lighting, power points available, great closet, and clean. I should've considered it as a long-stay, rather than a one night accommodation. It does have glassware instead of one-use plastic cups for the bathroom, but I had to search in the kitchen for the glass I needed. It does have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (refillable) in the shower, but no lotion or shower cap available. Again, set up for long-stay; not one night. Note to designers of the room: the toilet paper dispenser was installed too close to the toilet tank, making unrolling of paper impossible until the roll is diminished enough to clear the toilet tank lid. I removed the roll for use. Although I arrived in the dark, and didn't go out (as a single woman), the neighborhood seemed unsafe for walking.

Our 2 bedroom suite had everything you needed for a long term or comfortable short term stay. But the highlight of this property is the friendly and very helpful staff! Customer service is a lost art but the team at TownePlace Suites in Tempe are bringing it back!

The family suite is great. Truly has a family of 5 or more in mind. Definitely recommend this place. Staff was friendly, everything in the room was very clean, very modern look and feel. Sofa bed has seen better days, luckily we didnt have to use it. The area surrounding the hotel is a bit sketchy if you plan on walking to the store. Free breakfast buffet, options are not great but at least you have options.

Mariott franchise has always been my too choice in hotels. Though lately with allowing dogs on the premise, its changed. My current visit changed my outlook, the hallway and room had a distinctive smell. I dont know if it was the cleaner but i could smell dog everywhere. It be better if they set aside one floor or a building for patrons with digs and others where it would be dog free. Im very sensitive to smell and that made a difference this time around.

When I called for transportation from the airport to hotel, she contacted me to let me know where and when I would be picked up...all within 10 minutes, I was on my way to the hotel. When she checked me in, she could not have been more pleasant. She made me feel welcome and that means so much to me!

No blankets or towels in room
The hotel overall wasn’t bad. It was just a couple of things. The toilet would not stop running. There were no towels. There were no blankets on the beds. There was no one to bring us towels or blankets so we had to go get them ourselves. Hotel was quiet and was comfortable once we got blankets. Feel like they definitely need to tighten up their ship. Would I stay there again maybe but I would check for blankets and towels early on if I did.

Great comfortable stay in convenient location
The suite rooms are great. Large in size with many options of moving a table around. The kitchen was a perfect size - not so big to get in your way but enough stuff to do light cooking and full fridge to hold stuff. Only the fold out couch bed was very thin and not very comfortable. Hot breakfast most days (waffles, eggs, sausage, breakfast burrito) except when the kitchen lady wasn't on duty but still decent breakfast when not (bagel, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, yogurt always available). Staff was very nice and efficient, 24 hour gym was convenient and used often and the lobby was comfy too. Overall our stay was very enjoyable.

I give this place a 2.5 out of 5. It’s not the worst but I definitely wouldn’t be coming back considering the amount of options in the area. The hotel inside is very nice. Hallways are clean, the lobby is clean and decorated for the holidays. The furniture is fairly new looking for the age of the hotel but they were left dirty from previous stays. The bathroom is in need of some TLC. Rust and an old stain in the tub accompanied by an old shower curtain. Needs glass doors. The room and kitchen were clean I was happy to have cooking utensils and plates. Again some sheets and pillows from sofa needed to be cleaned. The amenities are decent. A gym, and fireplace are for use as well as the laundry room BUT the pool is not heated nor cleaned. Also no jacuzzi. My favorite part of this hotel was the Free Buffet Breakfast. There was one woman cook who cooked everyday I was there. Not the best food but really hit the spot for free hotel food! I loved it and her. I won’t be coming back but this place is great if you’re not too good for clean sheets that are stained, are on a budget and love free breakfast.

We checked in and the hotel had all these buildings out and the property they were able to accommodate me to stay in the main building, it had 2 bedrooms not one tv in the rooms worked. No housekeeping but once a week they should leave trash bags so you can set out your trash outside of your room.

The overall of the hotel was good. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was served was a hot meal and good. The woman working the breakfast area was super friendly and a hard worker. What could be better is the the Sofa bed, the mattress is so flat and bumpy. It needs to be replaced. The bathroom drain was rusted which makes it look dirty. The pool was closed but we could use the next door properties pool but it’s small and was super warm. My son loves swimming but he was in the pool for less than 5 minutes because it was too hot!

The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. It felt like a wonderful small community. The woman doing the breakfast needs a raise. She worked so hard and did so much for everyone from greetings to making our waffles and keeping the area extremely clean and flowing well so everyone felt they had personalized attention. The rooms have so many amenities better than many more expensive hotels. The only downside was the bathroom was not clean. There was a small spot of visible dried blood on the wall and a dirty tissue on the floor and tub was not clean and sink was clogged. Rest of hotel room was clean and neat. There was plenty of security at the hotel so I felt safe.

No room service our entire stay, we had to ask for our own towels on multiple occasions, there was never just fresh towels in our room available to us. When asked for new bedding/sheets took 2 days to receive and we had to change our own bed. And we had someone change our trash once given we were there for 5 days. We had to get our room keys reset DAILY because they were shut off after each day it was Terrible all around only good part was they allowed early check in.

In the middle of the slums , pool wasn't open, but you could go the hotel next door to swim (nextdoor pool area was filthy and not maintained at all), no hot breakfast, room wasn't clean, stains on bed and pull out, bathtub very curved and slippery (my son fell and hit his head), no room service, dirty socks left under the beds. If you are looking for a nice hotel to stay in, do not stay here. Expedia should be more honest with what you're paying for. I will not be using Expedia again.

First time here. Friendly staff. Quick check in. 1st impression was a 10!! Went to room, keycard to get access to the inside which I love for safety reasons, but the room (117) was fresh and super clean. Nice size kitchenette, super comfy main bed, standard sofa bed and great AC.
Definitely going to remember this one for future stays in Phoenix.

The young lady that works at the front could be a little more friendly! What ever pissed you off, we weren’t part of. You work with the public. You work with customers. If you don’t want to be friendly, get a different job. Both days, you had the same attitude. BTW, the swim pool isn’t open either 😢 Room was still dirty and pet hair all over the couches in open area.

My family and I booked this hotel last minute. I was looking for a suite with a living room area that had a tv. We were first put in a dirty room; food crumbs still on the table, the beds had no linen, the bathroom was dirty. We quickly got moved to the room next door which was cleaned for the most part except for the toilet, which looked like there was blood inside it. Overall our stay was okay but the initial check-in of the dirty room set the tone. I loved the location as it was close to the mall and other places we went to.

The hotel staff, especially Christy, was awesome :) The room was nice and comfortable. Some little details need attention (i.e., dirt, rust around the air vents, some spots on walls). The pool pump was not working so the pool was closed and very dirty/ green. There is no housekeeping service until the 7th day (they should inform guests at check-in) but you can go to front desk for towel replenishment, etc. Breakfast is brown bag yogurt, juice, granola bar, banana to be picked up in lobby, due to pandemic. The area is sketchy - police activity happening in front parking lot one afternoon and the nearby Arizona Mills Mall looked almost abandoned!

Clean, quiet room. Good mattress, covers, and pillows. Got a good nights sleep every night. Only down-side of the facility that I had was the breakfast provided. Not up to par with any place I've ever stayed at that included it. After a few days of hoping it would change or improve, I gave up on it. Really disappointing aspect of my stay.

Our stay here was not the best. The room was nice and clean. Liked the little kitchen and TVs in each room. The HUGE down side was being stuck in a ground floor corner room. This was adjacent to the door entrance to the buidling and the stairs. We heard EVERYTHING!! Everyone that came in and out of the building slammed the entrance door and we heard everyone thomping as they were going up and down the stairs. The thin walls and ceiling made it for a sleepless night stay. Being on the ground floor, we also heard car alarms going off and parking lot traffic. I was not too thrilled about the breakfast either..the eggs were cold and not much of a selection.. but free is free right?? Overall i do not think i will return here.

Worth staying another night
From check-in until check-out this was a great stay. The desk clerks are super nice and helpful. My wife wanted hot chocolate before bed and the clerk had some under the coffee counter which he gave her. Breakfast was plentiful with a large selection. Room was clean and comfortable.

Comfortable Stay with Home-Like Feel
I chose to stay at the TownePlace Suites after hopping around several other Mariott locations. This one stood out for its kitchen, full sized refrigerator and available silverware. As a business traveler, this made it easier to manage long weeks away from home. The bed itself was as comfortable as any Mariott branded bed, and the room was clean. I will note that the walls are relatively thin and conversations could be partly heard from adjacent rooms.

The room was a good size, bed was comfortable, but the a/c you could not adjust, it just stayed on a certain temp all the time and it was cold. The placement of the sofa to the TV was odd. TV only good if you were in bed. The breakfast was just so so and the tables did not get cleaned up for the turn over of people staying. Every morning there were people sleeping in the chairs outside the buildings. The area appeared safe but a lot of homeless wondering. Definitely not the typical TownPlace Suites by Marriott that we are used to. Felt rundown and old.
