The hotel is dated and needs to be remodeled. The bathroom was disgusting. I recommend shower shoes if you plan on bathing. The shower had soap scum, actual body wash, hair, and some unidentified substance in it. Also, it wouldn’t stop leaking, dripped all night long. The toilet wouldn’t flush. The refrigerator leaked water in the floor. The room smelt like smoke. The bedding was torn, burnt, and severely stained. Would not stay here again.

Careful. I was double-charged for my stay!
Reserved and paid for two nights in advance on hotels.com as we were traveling 1200 miles for our son’s basic training graduation. Upon check-in I noticed a sign stating there would be an $80 incidental hold placed on a credit card, which is standard policy in my experience. There was also a sign stating that anyone from the surrounding area (it listed nearby towns) was required to pay a $150 room charge in cash upon check-in. We are from out of state so it didn’t pertain, though I thought it was strange policy. The desk clerk found my reservation and took a little longer than normal to check us in but he was very polite. He asked if I knew about the $80 incidental hold and I told him I did. He asked me if I had cash. I told him I did not but offered the same credit card I used to reserve the room. He asked me if I had a debit card and explained he couldn’t use the same credit card I used to reserve the room, that I needed a debit card because I booked through a third party. I thought this was odd, but because it was only a “hold” I handed him my card. Moments later I received notification by my bank that 2 debits occurred, one for the $80 hold and a charge for $154.22. I spoke to front desk staff three times during my stay because I was double charged - once by hotels.com and then again when I checked in. I was told twice the charge would reverse “tomorrow” but it never did, it was an actual charge. I paid just shy of $400 to stay here 2 nights. I opened a dispute w my bank.

Terrible place, Rooms full of dust, no housekeeping service , No Breakfast, No towels, nothing!!! the excuse was that they have not enough employees, REALLY??? then don't offer any more rooms if you can't service them. not enough employees but they keep making money? is not fair, the entire building was terribly dirty.

HORRIBLE
Do not stay there! Room was disgusting,mildew on shower curtains. Housekeeping entered our room before 10 am and checkout is 11am and I had no clothes on. Same housekeeper tried to attack me and I ended up calling the police. I’ve been told this is not her first time being irate with a customer. For your safety and sanitation do not stay here!

Room was already paid for a month in advance so the check in process should have been smooth but it wasn’t. It took about 25 mins before I was able to check in. The lamp in my room was filthy & did not work. Empty box of Kleenex on the desk.

Upon arrival at the said property, after we paid for the room, we were told the property is under renovation.
we went to our room and was greeted by dirty linen in the hallway on the floor, very loud drilling noises.
The furniture was broken, (the lamp shade fell off with a touch of the hand, the rolling chair had a worn hand rest)

We had to wait about 20 min for someone to show up at front desk. East checkin but the air conditioning unit in our room siunded like a turbo jet. We knew we would get no rest and asked to be moved. Staff was very accomodatting. However, that room was not clean. The shower was dirty and floor in bathroom dirty. Lastly we used a side door and it would not even shut for safety. The only good thing about this visit was the nice lady at front desk. I, however, will never stay here again. Oh, the breakfast.. no plates, no butter, eggs were grainy, coffee was terrible. Just a horrible way to start morning.

Our stay was very disappointing! When we first arrived the lobby was clean but upon arriving on our designated floor we got off the elevator only to see carpet that was nasty and stained all over and we saw holes in the walls and the molding was missing around the walls. When we entered our room it was clean however there was no trash can or phone to reach the front desk. The bathroom was clean but there was no toilet paper holder . The toilet paper was sitting on the toilet tank also the shower was awful there was no water pressure. The water drizzled out slowly which made it hard to take a good shower. When we booked the hotel it said breakfast was included from 6am to 9 am . We went to eat breakfast around 7am and everything was gone , no sugar or creamer for the coffee, no milk, no eggs or sausage nothing and when we informed the front desk of this we were told the construction workers took all the food so there wasn’t anything left for breakfast. I have stayed at numerous hotels as a travel nurse and this is by far the worst hotel I ever stayed in.

Had two rooms ; in one room the comforter was stained, the room had a smell and the light in the bathroom did not work . The fridge was leaking as well.
The second room beds were stained . She shower had a constant drip and the closet and bathroom door was scuffed and peeling. Water was leaking from the ceiling . There were two big trash cans in The middle of the hallway to catch the water . Along with towels on the floor

This hotel used to be my go to for lodging when I visited my hometown, clean and reasonably priced with a hot breakfast that was palatable. This is no longer the case. While the pricing of the room was on the level with other places I have stayed, which fooled me into thinking that I was going to the same hotel I was used to before, the condition of the property and service provided were more in line with places that are priced about half this rate.

The desk clerk that ched me in was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean but showing signs of age. Could use updating and renovating. The continental breakfast was disappointing. The price was good but I will probably not go back there next time in town.

The property was old and rundown. There were stains all over the carpet and chair. There was mold on the inside of the bathroom door. The front desk attendant was pleasant and as accommodating as she could be, however this property needs a serious facelift and be considered a Choice property. I’ve NEVER seen such a disdainful Sleep Inn. The owners need to be questioned as to why they allowed this property to go down this far without an upgrade. I WILL NOT ever stay here again…..

The only thing that mattered here was the lady at the front desk. She was very helpful. The first room we were given, had a lot of mold on the shower door and in the shower, no toilet paper holder on the wall, hairs on the sheet and other small stuff on the sheets. The floor had not been vacuumed, the cabinets were seriously old and damaged. We went back to the front desk and told her we could not stay in that room. She was going to cancel our reservation, but because it was Expedia could not refund us. She showed us another room that was a little better,, but not much. It was a horrible stay and I think we have had it with Expedia for putting us into a facility like this. We did not shower or eat breakfast- just slept in the brown stained sheets and got out at 5am. A horrible experience. Bad form Expedia!!!!!

Booked 8 rooms. All 8 had issues. We sorta knew what we were walking into from other reviews but hoping for the best as options for that many rooms were limited in the area. The Hotel is over due for a massive renovation. Looks like the recently bought TV’s for the rooms. I would have spent that money on new blankets and sheets for the beds. Paint and carpet. This hotel is what you get for the price. And it says breakfast but there really isn’t. Suggest staying elsewhere. Greta location and exterior is fine. They just need to gut and redo interior.

Good - it was a place to sleep when and where I needed it. Bad - it was a dump. Everything (vending machines, weight room, ice machine) had an out of order sign on it. My TV needed a full reprogramming. The furniture and window in my room looked like they'd been beaten with a hammer. The peep hole was ripped out, filled with trash, and my room was wide open when I checked in.
On the bright side, I got an awesome contact high from the cloud of weed in the halls.

The bath towels that were displayed had clearly identifiable marks of dirt.
Different parts of the walls looked as if a child colored on them with crayons years ago.
I pulled back the sheets and saw multiple yellow stains on various parts of the sheets and bed spread.

Overall stay was terrible. People smoking weeds in hallway and stairwell. My family had to cover our faces while running to get into our rooms. Rooms are not very clean. Dirts stuck on walls specially in bathrooms. Phone in the room don’t have cords so we can’t call the front desk. Guests arguing and and playing in the hallway until 3:00am. TV’s don’t work. Remote controls don’t have batteries in them. We have to go to front desk for toilet paper upon arrival. Roaches crawling on desks and inside cabinets. One good thing going for that hotel was the staff. They are very nice trying to make things better. Never again will my family and I go back to that hotel. We put up with it for 3 nights but never again. It’s such a sad situation.

This was the worst experience I've had at a Hotel it was so dirty and smelly. You couldnt sit in either one of the chairs they had for you to sit in. One had food all on it and the other one had stains in it. Dont get me started on the bed it was a King bed and it was slump in the middle we didnt get to sleep until about 4:30 in the morning..You couldnt walk on the carpet without having shoes on cause the carpet was so dirty. The place had an awful.smell If I ever come back down and all.the other Hotels are booked and this Hotel had a room I would rather sleep in my car than to pay to stay in that rat hole. They call it Sleep Inn it should called Stay Up Never Sleep Inn. Whoever is doing construction work and Housekeeping should be fired. The owner needs to sell this property to someone who has standards and cares about their customers. The only person I would recommend staying at this Hotel is a homeless person cause this place is right up their alley. Never again

The hotel is dated. The room was decently clean. It had a smell like old smoking that they had not been able to get out of the room. The bathroom and the room were OK, but the toilet paper dispenser was completely broken. There were no tissues but there was a tissue holder. I give the room a two out of five. There was no breakfast, they had stopped serving it because of Covid I assume. The lobby was decently clean, still also smells like cigarettes. I don’t think I’ll ever come back.

Walls in hotel room had dirt marks, cobwebs in corner of walls and ceilings, odor in room, old well used looking furniture, stained carpet, hotel employees smoking in front of building which has sign on inside that reads, "no smoking on premises" cigarette smoke smell in lobby from employees smoking out front no continental breakfast as stated there would be on website. Gross and disappointing
So, this was the only hotel available in Sumter, the weekend we booked. I booked it, thinking nothing of it. While the front desk woman was friendly, I was unpleasantly surprised at the state of the room. The paint on the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling and flaking off. The walls weren’t super clean. The shower had mold. The furniture in the main/bed room had quite a bit of wear. The sheets were disgusting. Both covers/comforters had light brown and yellow stains. The sheets we had had light yellow and a red orange crusty line (maybe a ketchup mark?) stain. The fact that you could scrape some off with your nail told me that they hadn’t been washed well or at all. There was also a makeup mark. The A/C/heater was not attached to the wall very well. I will not stay there again.

It's really run down. It used to be one of the motels our families would use for our family reunions along with the comfort inn next door. Now I wouldn't recommend it. Last time I stayed there it rained and the floor below the window was soaked despite the window being closed and locked. This time the room was in such disrepair I'm surprised it's allowed to stay open. One of the outlets had caught on fire at some point and never replaced. All the furniture was run down. The air conditioner worked properly. The noise level was fine. I was on the 3rd floor. There wasn't any coffee available throughout the day which would have been nice. Shower was constantly dripping. There was a strong perfume smell maybe to cover up a worse smell overall but it's not recommended for those of us sensitive to smells. Noticed the elevator hadn't been inspected since 2018. I wanted to give it another chance to see if anything had been reconditioned but unfortunately it has not. Thankfully there are many more options available in Sumter and far more modern accommodations.

This place was absolutely horrible. While checking in, the front desk clerk (buffie) was arguing with a guest because he was in his room smoking. She was right to do so seeing as how the property is 100% smoke free. However, when I checked into my room, immediately upon opening the door, a smell hit my nose. When I walked in it got worse. It smelled like someone laugh a bag of dirty laundry sitting for months. Then as I inspected my bed like I always do, the pillows had yellow stains on them. I could not take it. I immediately exited the room and requested a refund. This place needs to be overhauled and management needs to do better maintaining and cleaning their property.

Do not stay here! The sheets and towels were almost yellow. The gym equipment had parts missing and seemed very unsafe. Mold in the shower. On top of the frosted plastic in the elevator there was what appeared to be a chicken bone and fries, remained there the entire 3 day stay.

Room smelled funny. The bathroom was to small. The vending machine was high. Some of the equipment in the fitness room was broken. The fitness room was trashed, clock didnt work, no water. Upon check in i was charged another $25 fee that was not disclosed at reservation and its been 7 days and i still havent gotten that back. I wont stay here again! It was not very clean. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and in and around the shower. Each time we went out our key would not work when we returned and if we didn’t pull the door extremely hard it did not latch. There was no breakfast due to COVID. I have stayed in other hotels during this pandemic and they have figured out ways to provide a safe sanitary breakfast but this hotel did not seem to want to be bothered.

I was very disappointed there were roaches in the room, the room wasn’t cleaned before I got in it, the elevators hadn’t been wiped down. The bathroom door was not on the hinges and when I checked out the manager never asked if I enjoyed my stay after .. couldn’t change location cause I was there for a wedding and I was busy in and out from the time I checked so 😞
