Convenient location however quite a lot of surrounding street noise, etc. The area doesn’t feel very safe and only a couple of the staff members were friendly. Would not return based on the amount of nearby hotel options in the same price range.

No frills good experience
I stayed here for 3 nights when visiting a friend in the Charlotte area. I pretty much knew what I was getting into, and adjusted my expectations. All of the staff were very friendly, especially the person overnight! The building itself needs a facelift, it's pretty worn. The room was clean but smelled like heavy perfume the entire time. Breakfast was underwhelming, and I didn't use the gym. The pool was closed as well but it was very cold anyway. This is a no frills hotel but it wasn't too bad of an experience. I really wanted quiet and clean and it pretty much checked the boxes.

Sink was clogged. Room was not cold AC was working but off when checked in. Room was on 2nd floor. Receptionist was helpful after complaints he showed me the other eoom on 2nd floor . Which has smell of smoke . I denied tban he gave us room on 4th floor which was OK

Nice but NO ESPN in english!!
Rooms need a little work, but overall clean. There during bowl season and the only ESPN chanel was in Spanish. Breakfast needs a little work. Will be going back to Comfort Inn across the street.

I reserved two rooms, got there and they only had one room for us. They had no more vacancies so we had to find a different hotel even though my receipt and confirmation clearly said "two rooms reserved".

Quick stop to break up two days of driving south.
Very happy with the hotel. It was clean and in good condition. The room was very nice. The only issue was the tv. The picture was all scrambled. Didn’t care because we were just stopping in as a half way point to Florida. The man at the front desk, Roger, was extremely nice and very helpful. The price was very reasonable. $100 Canadian all in. ($70US at the current rate). We would definitely stop in again. There are also restaurants right next door.

The linens were dirty and the staff was not very helpful. The entire second floor had a really interesting smell, that it took a few washes to get out of my clothes. There appeared to be a chicken bone in the hallway floor. It never moved, even after the cleaners came by. It is super convenient if you are planning to go to Carowinds. It was nice to be able to walk across the road to Cracker Barrel, before going. The breakfast was also good.

We had to move rooms three times. The first rook had hair on the bed sheets and stains on the top comforter. In the second room, the mattress was wet with piss, food on the bathroom floor, and also hair in the shower. The third room was a little decent and smelled somewhat clean. The elevator had a foul odor the entire stay.

The location and staff where good. As far as the hotel it was a mess. The floors and bathtub was dirty. The bed and towels both had hairs all on them. The exit door didn’t even have a lock. People could come in as they please without a key.

The area is great, right across the street from Carowinds. The hotel itself isn’t. The first room we got was NOT clean. There was stains on the bedsheets & a used bandaid on the floor. We were able to switch rooms but I just wasn’t very comfortable. The bed are uncomfortable & the whole hotel has a weird dirty smell. I doubt I will stay in this hotel again.

Room and bed were comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The place is very convenient to Carowinds (just across the road from the entrance.
Only complaints were that the shower was a pain to operate and position, and the bathroom vent fain screamed when it was on.

Condensation from air unit on floor above dripped loudly on our metal window ledge half the night. Bathroom door in poor condition. Shower is claustrophobic. TV impossible to figure out channels, could not use the guide. Remote had no up/down button. Bed had lots of creaking in frame. Disappointing

The room was not very clean. One of the beds had long hairs in and on it-like the covers has not even been shaken out. The bathroom mirror and tv had fingerprints. The room just generally looked like it wasn’t the cleanest. The breakfast ended at 9:30am- it really just doesn’t give you enough time on vacation with kids to get up and get them down to breakfast so I didn’t even get to take advantage of that unfortunately. I probably wouldn’t stay here again-even at the price point.

Very disappointing
Room was not very clean. The door only worked half the time with the key card. The breakfast was so disappointing and there was not one thing someone with a gluten allergy could eat. The hallway smelled like marajuana most of the time .

Property looks nice from pictures actually was disgusting looked like chairs were old and tore up, bathroom had mold and old cleaning products on floor, blankets were old and had burn holes in them. Smelt like cigarettes in the room the moment we walked in and the front desk lady asked if we smoked in the room very rudely whole time it smelt like that before we had even got there. To top it all off we booked because they had a pool it was shut down had been for months due to pump being broke.

Attendant was unprofessional and rude. Felt unsafe with all the in and out of people during our 10 minute encounter. People did not seem to be your typical travelers. We ask for a refund due to human hair found in our bed after pulling back the comforter. Have never experienced this type of customer service in all our travels.

Location isconvenient to interstate and very close to amusement park. Not many restaurants nearby, but Camella's pizza joint and bar is a couple of miles away and very good. Hallways and carpet could have been cleaner. Breakfast was barely adequate.

Lamp had a broken bulb and one side of the electrical plug did not work. Called to get that fixed, nothing was fixed. Bathroom had hair on floor and shower. Did not get room service. Vending machine not working. Will not be returning

Very friendly staff and they are very nice. But the hotel it’s self is a dump. It’s old, I’m a maintenance supervisor and own my own hvac company. To me that building needs to be tore down and rebuilt.

Upon entering the hotel there is a musty smell. Almost as if no air is let into the building at all.
We stayed on the second floor. The carpeting was old looking and the entire hallway smelt like someone had smoked in their room and they tried to cover up the smell with something, too that off with an old carpet smell. Our room had two queen sized beds, and was incredibly tiny! There were stains on the walls that looked like old grease stains from something. On the other side of the wall there was something that looked like crusted old food, or possibly boogers. Our blanket had a cigarette burn hole and appeared to be a very old blanket that they have been using since the hotel opened. The furniture paint was scrapped and scratched. No fridge or microwave. Towels had a dusty old smell that made me not want to dry myself off with it. Water pressure was terrible. The only good thing about our room were the pillows. They were quite comfortable. Other than that, none of us wanted to walk around barefooted in that place. Carpet in room was old and had a smell. There were old dead bugs in windowsills, windows themselves were smudged and dirty. We honestly hated this room and hated our stay.
We stayed here to go to Carowinds and thought it would be great because of how close they are. Location is awesome, but the hotel needs to work on cleanliness for sure. Would NOT recommend unless every other hotel is booked up and you’re absolutely desperate.

Check was easy and quick with nice staff. I was not advised when breakfast was open so I had to call. The room was clean, but seemed small...well at least for 4 people. The floors seemed hollow. Kids upstairs were extremely loud until about 10pm, but that is not the hotel's fault.
Breakfast consisted of bagels, waffles, 2 choice cereal, and juice.

Hotel has obviously been remodeled (parts of it). Positives: Close to Carowinds, walkable to QT for snacks and drinks, Quiet in halls, etc.
Negatives: Check in took a long time, pool was down and not communicated when booking, shower not remodeled and growing mold above your head, bed super squeaky every time you moved around, breakfast (waffle iron not releasing waffles, syrup dispenser broken - we walked to QT and bought breakfast).

Front desk was very nice and welcoming. We did not have hot water and all other rooms were booked. Also, our checkout was at 11 and the cleaning lady asked us not once but 3 times if we were leaving and laid down on the floor in front of our room till we left. We felt so uncomfortable we left as soon as we could

We stayed here with a group of teens the night before going to Carowinds. We were unaware that the pool was closed and that was disappointing. Also, breakfast was not as advertised. Cereal and a waffle maker. Terrible. The staff was kind. The room was satisfactory. The location great.

Went there for the weekend, only because we had a pass to Carowinds which is literally across the street which is awesome 😎...so we stayed Fri - Sun.. Very clean rooms..ac was on point.beds were comfortable... only complaint..one night smelled weed real strong...guess it's the new world 💁 Definitely will go back if in the area again.. very reasonable too..

The location of the hotel was the only good thing. When we checked in the air conditioner didn't work, they tried to fix it but ended up changing rooms. The 2nd room they changed us to smelled like there had been a Marijuana party the smell was so bad. You didnt have to smoke to get high, so i went back to the front desk and ask them if they could do something for me because i was with kids and that smell was not comforting but all they did was give me some spray. Very disappointed in the stay. Ive stayed in the same hotel before but will not again.

Is a NO for me.
First arrived to the hotel and it looked ok, until I got in the room and the comforters had brown stains, bathroom small, door wouldn’t shut to the bathroom. It was just a no for me. I ended up getting a refund.

No Pool
Check in was fine. Room was as expected. No complaints. Biggest problem was we were not made aware of the construction going on. Due to this the pool was not opened. When traveling with kids, this was a big let down, and very unexpected.

I do a lot of traveling for work and do To that I stayed in many hotels, and this hotel by far has been the nastiest one ever! I was so tired when I checked in that I didn’t pay attention to how nasty the room was, not till the morning so I took the time to take some pictures and they advertise free breakfast on their page and they don’t. Stayed overnight before a flight. It's ok, but there was no breakfast due to remodeling to the breakfast area. The property itself is a little old and needs updating. Overall, it was not bad, especially for the price.

This property is TRASH!!! The photographs are completely catfished!!! Active renovations that make this dirty place look like a complete trash. Elevators out of service. Room stinks and saw multiple ants in room. Could'nt get answer at front desk. I've contacted Expedia & was told had to wait on manager to return because front desk personneldid not have the authority to give a full refund!!!

The staff was accommodating and nice. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The downfall was that there was no breakfast, pool and fitness center as advertised because the building was under construction and being remodeled. It was deceptive and it did not feel good to have been deceived and had to pay full price for our stay when none of the amenities were available. I felt like we were taken as suckers but we had drove down from Connecticut and they had already charged my card prior to me checking in. We booked it through Expedia.

I was unaware when booking that the property was under renovations. When I arrived they said the elevator was broken and that there was no breakfast due to the renos. The curtains in the room do not close so it felt like sleeping in broad daylight. Only one outlet in the entire room worked. The comforter had blue stuff all over it. Room was dirty, as well as the entire hotel, and found screws on the hallway floor. Overall not clean and not functional. Never again.

I wished I knew they were renovating before I booked my room. Have to walk up steps to two suitcases and a baby because the elevator was out. The clerk at the front the night of 5/20 was rude. The bathroom in the room was small and the shower door didn’t lock.

The elevator was broken! And I’m staying on the 4th floor, mind you. There’s nothing like climbing up 4 flights of stairs, to discover your key doesn’t work! And it happened more than once! Never again!

They are renovating right now. The elevator didn't work. They didn't call us ahead to tell us that the only rooms with 2 beds were on the 4th floor so when we got there they just acted like we might not want the room. When we took the room anyway, they told us the room had been renovated. I'm not sure what all they did, but it could have been better for the cost. The TV channels were Very limited! They don't even offer hot chocolate mix and there is 1 dinky trash can. The air can't be set to just blow the fan so that it isn't stuffy. I tried to change it from auto to low or high and there was no change. It just turns on when it is heating or cooling. And that makes it seem loud. I stayed there because it was the cheapest in the area although still expensive. It was clean enough and no bugs, so I guess I would stay again if I had to.

It was very HORRIBLE!!! The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had!! The elevator didn’t work, room was on the 4th floor, no hot water in one room, tv had no cord. The second room smelled like it was a dope room. Was told there is absolutely nothing they can do because the manager wasn’t there. Had to pay for another room, still can’t get in touch with manager to get refund on room I couldn’t in that had no hot water. It was just unbelievable a nightmare and we had kids with us!!!

We specifically chose this property because it stated free breakfast. NO BREAKFAST AT ALL. There was alot of construction going on that was not stated. It woke us up very early every day. It was an awful time. We was very disappointed.

The property for what the price is to hook a room is very nice! The beds are comfy and the room itself is just what you need. If you’re looking for something luxurious, this is not it. We like to stay here whenever we go to Carowinds just because it is very basic. Also, if you stay here in the near future, know they are doing renovations so currently they do not have breakfast. But there is a Cracker Barrel por gas station next door if that’s something that you want. The only negative I have is that housekeeping was knocking on our door that had the “Do not Disturb” sign outside at 930 AM when checkout is at 11. Other than that, all the staff was wonderful and so was our time there!

We had a terrible stay. We ordered 8 rooms. Mostly all of them had stains on the sheets. There was construction and walking hazards throughout the hotel. Elevator did not work. Holes in walls. We were not warned at all regarding the hazards in the hallway, construction.

The room smelled like wet dog - the carpet must have been shampooed because my socks got wet. Kept the fan on the whole time we were there so I didn't keep smelling it. The WiFi was good - thankfully, because the basic cable was horrible. No premium channels or Netflix options. Bed was soft as were the sheets and they were clean - and the room overall was clean - so I did not put up a fuss. Location was close to a lot of things, but I will not stay there again.

Great location...hotel needs improvement
Hotel was under renovation and we were not notified prior to our arrival. The kitchen was under renovation so there was no breakfast as mentioned and the elevator was out of order and they only had room on the 3rd floor. There were 2 dead bugs found in the room, the bathroom has a pocket door and the lock doesn't reach the latch. Outside noise woke us several times and the room had a musty menthol odor. Ceiling was cracked, floor was dirty, the sheet had a brown stain and multiple hairs were found on the linens. Only access was front door which we had to walk the length of the hotel to access as the stairs were on the opposite side. The security door was propped open most of the time we were there (2 nights) and the alarm was disabled by staff because guests kept opening it. The desk clerk gave a discount of $23 for our stay of 2 nights and was friendly. Convenient location across from Carowinds and I-77.

No frills hotel with great service
The staff were very friendly, nice and helpful. Our room was ok, not very clean but for the price it’s what to be expected. The heater wasn’t working, it was blowing cold air no matter how high I set up the temperature. When I told the person at the front desk, she was super sweet and immediately switched us to a nearby room. There were some kind of renovations going on or a problem as there was a section that was sealed off with big plastic curtains, the main stairs were out of service and so was the elevators. So we had to use the back stairs, not the best, but we got a little workout as a bonus! 😅
It’s very well located, near the highway exit. There were restaurants and shopping areas nearby. A gas station right at the corner of the street. All in all, price/value is what you expect, except for the renovations and out of service elevators of course. But the service was great.

The pictures you list are not conforming to what we encumbered. The first room we were given was so dirty we refused to stay there, the bed was dirty and so was the bathroom also saw a dead bug. They gave us a another room which we weren't exactly thrilled about but since we were only staying one night and our time was limited we stayed. It was a little cleaner but we didn't feel comfortable, I got a bottle of bleach to sanitize everything. . I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Outdated and old carpet and furnishings. The hotel manager tried to be accommodating about everything but it was so bad that his good nature couldn't fix..

Parking light shone in room all night. No curtain to pull close for privacy. Elevator broken. At least 4, maybe 5 dehumidifiers to negociate around in hall. Fire door left open the entire stay. Breakfast was meager with the emphasis on carbs. Only protein was yurgert high in sugar.
