Overall was a good stay all though the bed was a bit to hard my shoulders were bothering me. The staff was nice and the room was clean. I would stay again if it was my last resort.

The staff was excellent in fixing issues we had when we first arrived.
1) The blind did not work. We needed light.
2)The WiFi did not work in the room.
3) A piece of tile was loose from the wall.
4) There was no frig in the room (or microwave).
5) My husband needed light to work at the desk. A lamp was brought in to remedy the situation.
Since the WiFi did not work in the room, they moved us down the hall to a different room.
We were tired, so we went to bed. The next night I told my husband that it felt like my side of the bed was broken. If I got too close to the edge of the bed, I could fall off. My husband felt around and felt nothing under my side of the bed. We went to the desk the next morning and they sent up a couple of maintenance men to check it out. They picked up the bed to find out that whoever set up the bed put the box spring upside down, thus, there was no support for my side of the bed.
There were no phones in either room to call down to the desk (or anywhere).

Could be a nice place to stay. Needs to be cleaner
We stayed for 3 nights. Front desk lady was amazing. The lobby area was very nice, but once you turned the corner, first the elevator dont even look like an elevator, i literally walked right passed it... the smell in the hallway and the room, smelled like dirty moldy clothes. So glad i packed my shower shoes (bathroom, i cleaned) also went to walmart and purchased my own bedding) and there was NO microwave ughhh.. the stairways are dirty and freezing, almost scared to walk thru, and the walls are paper thin, i could hear my neighbors conversations.. but the icing on the cake was in the hallways. There was so many dead lady bugs just laying around 🙄 😫. Should have been something done about that. Would have been an easy clean, but just shows, the whole place is dirty/ dingy..

The place to stay in Martinsville VA.
My stay at this location actually was for two consecutive weeks with a 3 day division between the two.
Four days each stay.
The staff is always very welcoming and willing to help when needed.

Very friendly staff. Allowed me to check in a bit earlier when a room was ready. Provided me with a hairdryer immediately when there was not one in the room. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable. Will stay here again!

The front doors are broken, so i cold in the lobby, because no one closes the door behind them. I was placed in a room that had just finished construction. Was then switched to another room where the blind wouldn’t let down. Had to rig it up. The next morning went for breakfast and there was no milk for the cereal, the refrigerator was locked up like people were gonna steal something and a lady was guarding the food. I’ll never stay there again. Or wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

The room was okay but it was only one trash can in the entire room none in the bathroom our fridge did not work and the cleaning staff took our towels and wash cloths that were dirty and did not replace them

After looking at reviews from 30 days prior, the same broken door was still broken. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. Our room had an adjoining door and we could hear every sound from our neighbors and their TV. The room is very simple, no fridge or microwave. The window blind didn’t work. There’s not much around the town but the room served its purpose and like I said, the breakfast was good for me and my two kids.

The bathroom door did not lock unless you lift the door up and when it was closed you could see out of the crack since he didn’t have a tighter close.
No refrigerator…. A mini fridge for drinks would have been nice.
The AC did not work!!! The room was hot. It would work sometimes and then shut off, and when it worked it wasn’t long enough to cool down the room. We came to this hotel on an 80 degree day with a large family.
The toilet hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival. There was pubic hair and pee droplets on the back of the toilet where the seat is attached. Also, the toilet handle had fingerprints on it.
The electric sliding doors to enter the hotel didn’t work. They were just kept open. That should have been the first red flag. We had no where to throw out our room garbage but after asking I was told to just leave it outside the front entry of the hotel.
The house keeping staff do not change bedsheets in between nights or come in to change the garbage. They were also not friendly and had a less than hygienic appearance.
Being that we couldn’t keep our drinks cold, we tried to get ice from the ice machine (5am so it should have been full) it only had a little bit of ice.
Overall, this place appeared decent from the road but is a one star hotel.

I’m basing this review off the fact that there was a dirty, wet washcloth still in the shower when I arrived, along with one of the beds clearly wasn’t made. Of course I used the other bed and had no issues but still, very off putting. Also, there were bugs on the ceiling. They didn’t look like any type of roach I’d seen so I wasn’t too worried.
Overall very disappointed in my stay and won’t be staying here again.

Probably the worst hotel room I have had in recent memory.
There was a door stop n front of the working sink causing a serious tripping hazard. Also a loose tile in the toilet also causing a hazard. No tray or shelf in the shower to hold your soap/shampoo. no light over the desk. 2 lights over the bed and a clock that needed to be plugged in, but only a recepticle with 2 outlets. will not be back to this hotel.

The room did not have mini-fridge or microwave. The tv was a fire tv requiring you to log in with your Amazon account to do anything, IF you could connect to the hotel wifi. The wifi took hours of trying to get connected, even to the the tvs provided by the hotel. The night/morning clerk was helpful, but everyone else at the front desk was unhelpful. I was told there wasn't anything they could do to fix the wifi and to deal with it. Our room was missing a hairdryer, which house keeping confirmed should be in each room, and front desk proceeded to tell me they didn't have them in the rooms (House keeping took one from another room to give to us). There were also piles of debris behind the hotel and even broken fence.

Motels Are Better Equipped
I originally rated this hotel as exceptions when I stayed last December. They were the Baymont at that time and the rooms came with mini fridges and microwaves. This go around the room was completely empty. The automatic doors didn’t work, the Wi-Fi doesn’t work so even though they have Netflix you can’t watch unless you use your phone as a hot spot. It was loud as they are working on the building so I didn’t sleep that well. I would not book another stay at this hotel you are better off staying at the Hampton or in Danville.

First room had a dirty toothbrush by the sink and used soap still in the shower and only one towel. Staff was able to move us to new room. Unfortunately, the diverter came out of the spigot when I pulled it so, no shower. Toilet took 4 flushes to remove waste from the bowl.

I checked into room and first room toliet was broke and leaking. Then they moved me to a room where the tv was broke finally they moved me into a room that was good. The staff was really nice and i know it wasnt there fault the hotel was falling apart. Also next day my key card would not.work and had to get a new one

Room was in disrepair. Lights didn't work, window shade was totally broken, shower had absolutely no shelf for soap, shampoo, razor?
Every light was a cold fluorescent, like sleeping in an office. Only positive is they had a nice TV ... Front desk staff could not have been nicer but both front doors were broken - had to pry open to get in or out. Ugh.

Staff were courteous and professional.
I did inform the front desk about the inner shower door opening on its own in room 308. During my showers, I used a washcloth in between outer and inner door to prevent this. Also, the door to the bathroom is not hung properly

When I was looking for it there was no lights on. Very hard to see. Also no coffee until 7:00 a,m. What about people that are back on the road by 6. Very disappointed. Coming again next weekend will stay somewhere else.

Great Room!
The last time I stayed here I suggested a darker shade being added to the room because it was too much light with the sheer one they had and they added a black out curtain behind it. Everything was perfect.

There was a domestic dispute that started around midnight and continued through most of the night. There was yelling and screaming, things being throw into the wall and people banging on the door next door to me. I felt extremely uncomfortable and threatened throughout the evening to even open my door.

My first unpleasant stay.
My check in was a breeze. My room was very disappointing. The fact that it was handicapped accessible wasn’t an issue. The sheets had stains on them. I was given a clean set but I had to change them myself. The shower curtain didn’t prevent the water from getting on the floor and running out the bathroom. So use all the towels to get up water

Property is under construction on the main floor/entrance. No real breakfast offered due to renovation. Room was well done, but still needed final equipment, I do not like mini.blinds for window covering. Excellent location in Martinsville. Over priced considering the status of renovations.

I should have read the reviews before booking. This facility is in the middle of a complete renovation. You walk in the front door and 20 feet away is bare concrete floors, removed plumbing fixtures, etc. The pool is closed, there is no ice, the breakfast is sitting on a couple of tables. Our room had nothing near the nightstand to plug our devices into. The TV had to be propped up on one side because it had no screws holding it in its stand. They need to close this hotel for a month or two to get it ready for guests.

Hotel is under construction hopefully will be completed soon. My first room had broken A/C. Second room had noisy A/C and both rooms had no blackout curtains thankfully the rooms were remolded and very clean. The staff was great which is a plus.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Had stayed here a year ago, and remembered it as being a great hotel so I booked again. This time though, they were in the middle of a renovation and lots of things missing from room. Front desk was very accommodating, but still...there was no phone or alarm clock. One of the beds was missing a blanket/comforter, and there were no soaps. The lobby was in disarray due to the renovations and there were no ice machines that work. There should have been a warning on the website, and the price should definitely not been a full price for this type of situation.

If I Could Give Less Than Zero
This place is a hole.
When we arrived the room was colder than a brass toilet seat in the Yukon. Cold to the point that it was uncomfortable.
Now, I undetstand they are renovating but thats no excuse for no coffee in the room, no microwave, no regrogerator, and the toilet didnt work. I could have called the front desk except THERE WAS NO PHONE either. Also, to be fair to me, i didnt know at the time of booking that they are renovating and couldnt cancel when I found out.
If it were 50 below zero and this was the last hotel on earth, I would take my chances in my car. Oh, and they think they can refuse service dogs.
All in all, a stay with Dr. Dimento would have been more pleasant.

Positive family experience during renovations
My family of 5 had a pleasant experience. Yes, there are renovations being made, but we made the best of it. Pool was closed. There is a snack vending machine but no drinks. There were no electronics available within our double room along with no telephone to reach the front desk (used my cell phone). Only a television was available. The rooms were clean, bathroom was clean, beds and towels were clean, and there was no “renovation” smell to the hotel. Continental Breakfast was available and decent for being “free”. There’s a microwave available in the breakfast area for use outside of breakfast. I had a good experience with the staff. Front desk staff were nice and helpful.
I do wish I had known they were doing renovations beforehand, but I booked through Hotels.com and I guess the site isn’t able to manage that? Either way, I still would’ve booked with Baymont… it just would have been nice to have been aware of the situation.
So I’m letting whoever is reading these reviews aware. Call ahead for any updates before you make plans. Again, we had a pleasant experience, given a few adjustments we made that weren’t that big of a deal. If you enjoy an espresso drink in the morning, there’s a New Starbucks up the street and a local coffee shop “The Ground Floor”, which we absolutely recommend!

DUMP. Should not be allowed to just put up signs " sorry about our mess while we upgrade" and show no signs of upgrading. ice and drink machines not working... sorry. TV did not work. Carpet was nasty. It smelled bad. Coffee was empty. But, we will still take your full payment even though we failed to provide what we should provide.

The initial appearance was decent however I was not informed the property was under renovation so there was a lot of things not available or working. Pool was deteriorating, soda machine wasn’t operating, no ice machines, grout in newly tiled shower was falling out, toilet was running intermittently throughout the night, I was being charged way more than other guest thanks to Expedia, no blackout curtains just standard blinds so I was up an hour early due to the sun. I would not recommend staying here. At least until the fix the issues. Prices should be half price as you’re only getting a fraction of what’s expected when attending a hotel.

The motel was slowly being remodeled. Half of the electrical plug-ins didn’t work.
I over paid for the kind of motel it was. I am a disabled Veteran and I didn’t get my discount. The motel was disrepresentive on the advertisement.

Ok for a place to sleep
The hotel is being reworked so hopefully it will get better,. There were NO working ice machines in the entire hotel,. Breakfast was ok but still a joke compared to other chains,. As this hotel was more expensive than other local I was pretty disappointed it. I stayed the remaining days of my trip it another hotel

Drove 5 hours to find out the place was in the middle of a renovation and the site never mentioned it. The hallway to our room was very dark , the bathroom door had a crack wide enough in it that you could see the person using the restroom when you walked by, it was very dusty and no ice machine and breakfast was horrible. We paid a lot of money for it to be in the middle of remodeling.

There was a lot of construction going on at this establishment which is understandable, but our room basically next to the rooms being updated. Tons of items in the hall, of course we didnt have to walk through that, just looks like they would've chosen to redesign 1 whole floor at a time, especially during this time of year. But we were happy to get some sleep, plus the bed slept great.

The room itself was very nice and very clean! The dining area was not lit well and the food was unrefigerated. No ice was available and the yogurt was sitting in water and the sausage biscuits were room temperature. There was a machine that said waffles but it was broken. The coffee was cold. hpefully when their renovations are complete it will be better. Overall, i would not recommend

The hotel was being remodeled and it was not listed in the booking. The room was in poor condition. Stairwells we're closed with no fire escape access. Amenities we're closed. Full price was charged.

Went to the front desk the sixth morning there (stayed nine nights), told the desk clerk the bathroom light was flickered while on. Came back twelve hours later( same thing. Made a video and show desk clerk; clerk stated, maintenance technician, nothing they could do. Woke up next morning with no working lights in the bathroom; spent next three nights (prepaid via Hotels.com) with no lights!

At this time I would not recommend anyone stay here.It has been going through renovation for over a year with no end in sight. The so called breakfast is a joke. The breakfast room was dark just one ceiling light all the others either did not work or were turned off. Very limited foods. Old bread, have an item one day and not the next with the excuse transitioning out of covid. Always covid... Bath towels old & rough. Even if you are renovating you should have proper linen. As you can tell I was VERY disspleased with hotel. I have used Hotels.com for many years and in all those years the Baymont in Martinsville has been my worst experince. I would like Hotels.com to let people know if a hotel is under going renovation. The Baymont should have gone out of their way with other service to make up for the renovation...

I was robbed by an employee working at the hotel. Management never called to speak to me about the incident. My property was later found in a pawn shop and returned by police. I will never stay here again, this was very poorly handled by Management.

When booking a very expensive suite, there was nothing to indicate that the hotel was under reconstruction. When looking for ice for my beverage, I discovered that not a single ice machine was in the building and no plan to offer any kind of work around. The continental breakfast was a bunch of freezer burnt pre packaged junk food that you had to microwave, the tea bags and food items were obviously purchased at a budget discount store and were of very low quality. TV in the breakfast area was broken.
The clerk when we checked in at midnight did nothing but complain that her relief was running late, she also said she would process a discount for AAA membership which to this date we have not seen.
I am so disappointed, for the money we paid for our suite, none of the amenities anybody would expect were present.

Since the hotel is under renovations it was not as clean as I would have expected going on past experience. The room was clean and comfortable but the beds were way way to soft and the frame on one of the ones in our room was not properly set up so the box spring and the mattress hung way over the frame. When we set down on the corner of the bed it nearly flipped on us. Would have been nice to know they were under renovation when we booked the hotel so we could have gone somewhere else but that was not made public unless you called to make your reservation. Also upon check in I was not pleased with the nonchalant way the desk service acted when I came in and also with my informing them that, although I knew it wouldn't impact the cost but would be needed if there was a problem and we needed to evacuate for any reason, one of our party did not come. Seemed almost flippant with the information. The staff that cleaned the rooms were very nice and more then understanding with the one bed having my son's travel bed blown up and on it preventing them from doing much more then taking out the trash.

Ive never known a hotel to allow pets, so that was cool. Front desk staff was very friendly and pleasant. My room was a tad dirty. There was human and dog hair in the bed, a kibble of dog food and someone’s hair accessory on the floor. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and will possibly come back.
