The breakfast room in its own building was great! We paid a Little extra to check in early. Our room was CLEAN!!! Bed was comfortable, towel were nice, soft and bigger. The shower head was amazing!!! The staff and even the other guests were all friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend getaway
Everything about the stay was wonderful. The only annoying thing, and it was very minor, was the refrigerator had a minor thumping to it. Not enough to warrant requesting a move, we just knew it was there. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay. The people were very friendly and helpful.

A very nice stay
Very nice staff especially check in staff and the ladies in the breakfast area. Very good location. Hotel needs a few updated but overall a very nice hotel.

Rude from the moment we arrived
She was rude. She couldnt find our reservation. She overcharged dhe said 84. And charged 134. The room smelled of pee. The beds were not mad properly. When you sat on bed the linen came loose. This location has a very attractive rate for sure. Have stayed there 3-4 times and usually was not too bad, considering the rate. In current economy, however, mgmt is probably overly challenged to leverage lower occupancy with being profitable enough to maintain quality of rooms and staff. Except for continental breakfast and the very courteous server, was not impressed with staff during our 2 nights, especially housekeeping. There's a sign in room offering option of not have daily fresh towel replacement if want to help with environment. But never expected maid to say that if we were staying 2 nights, they don't come in to the room and do anything after 1st night until day of departure. We've always found that most places (including this one in past??) at least empty trash cans, replace plastic cups and remake bed with existing sheets each night. So will probably use a different place place next trip.

It’s an okay place to crash overnight but I wouldn’t stay here again. Based on the rating, I was expecting something a little better. I think that it’s a 6 out of 10, not 7.6.

No as expected based on reviews
We were told there was no smoking but the room reeked of cigarette smoke.
The tub looked like it needed a deep clean - embedded dirty in the floor.
Everything was older and just needed a major refresh
But what can you expect for $76 a night

Damaged and not maintained
The motel looks nice from the outside, and it's fairly new, but the damage done to the rooms (at least our room) has not been repaired properly. There were holes in the bathroom wall from previous damage. Handles from the dressers were missing, and along the top frame of the bathroom door, there were burn marks from what appears to be drug pipes of some type. Our child also found toys under the air conditioner unit and the room had obviously not been vacuumed very well.
The staff did happily cancel the rest of our stay for us, but I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone, especially at this price. You'd be better off in a $30/nite motel down the road.

The attendant Friday night and Sunday morning as well as breakfast room were wonderful. The room was comfortable though for a non-smoking room, there are cigarette stains on bedding. The bathroom and main door wouldn't close easily. Cribs were advertised being available but were not. I booked this hotel due to the pool but it was closed and attendant never told me or I would have moved elsewhere. I feel my money should be refunded! The attendant said it was being working and will be ready on Sunday. It was closed on Sunday too. When I mentioned my concerns, attendant was rude and unhelpful.

There are no real hot options for breakfast, not even a waffle. We have stayed there 4 times over the last 5 years. Once was winter, so it's understandable. But, the pool has NEVER been open.

The. Staff is very unwelcoming and just plain rude. There is never anyone at the front desk. And of all things the pool is closed in all this heat. Why would you close the pool in July. That is just plain crazy.

Everything about the room felt sticky the second I walked in, from the air to the floor everything was sticky. I decided to wear socks the entire time and when I went to take them off for bed, the bottoms were brown. So glad I brought disinfectant wipes for the sink area.

the rooms were not clean and I checked the bed linens looking for bed bugs and found dirty sheets. However since I didn't report it immediately, the staff charged me a $50 fee for getting the sheets dirty. I had no way to prove I had found them that way because I was told the cleaning staff would not have left them that way. We were moved to another room, but the $50 is still charged to my card. The staff was rude when I asked to pay cash for the room rather than leave it on my card. I will not be staying at this hotel again!

Never saw any staff. Room was not clean. The was awful you sank into it jello. The pool was closed and it was just July 23. Why would you close your pool before labor at least. Stayed here 5 years and it was great but I won’t be back.

My wife has bad knees and does not do steps well. Upon check in we asked for a ground floor room and we were told there were none and that the hotel was booked full. I told the clerk I understood that but it was quite obvious that I was checking in before about 75% of the other guests and I politely asked if they could switch me with one of those rooms and I was told "NO!" Even after showing the clerk our handicap sticker. This could have been a simple, easy fix but poor customer service was a lot easier I guess.

Staff are supper nice. The room was a nonsmoking room but obvious that the previous guest were smokers. You could smell it when you entered the room. Having no pool was a big deal. The part of our planned itinerary was to spend time at the pool to escape the heat. We stayed at the resort last year and the facility has become less appealing. They need better maintenance and landscaping. Sad to see.

Very easy to check in, room was clean and there were definitely plenty of food options, if a bit plain. Only annoyance, and this is only applicable in the heat of summer: our room was damp during our entire 2 day stay. Consider using a dehumidifier before a room gets booked, and it'll help preserve the walls as well.

It was the first time I ever saw rusty lamps in a hotel room. There was partially rotten and old fruit at the breakfast. The alarm clock and phone looked like they haven't been cleaned in months. The pool was closed and had masks floating in it. One of the reasons I booked the hotel was for the pool. It had a horrible disinfectant smell as soon as we entered the room. I booked the room for 3 nights, if I hadn't drove for 14 hours straight, I wouldn't have stayed the one night I did. We were out of there in the morning, with a refund for the other two nights. Terrible place.

I called to ask to have the battery changed in my smoke detector. She clearly was unhappy with me for asking as she didn't greet me back and just left without a word when I thanked her.

Passing through Greenwood, SC
The room is clean. The breakfast room is in a separate building and is slim pickings even for a cold continental breakfast.
However there was a group of gentlemen outside our room at 2:30 AM have a loud discussion and smoking pot. I did walk outside and ask them to move their party. But proceeded to bring the awful smell into our room.

Stay away from the Baymont
This is the 2nd time staying there and probably the last. It’s the 2nd time the front desk employee was rude. No “Hi, Welcome to the Baymont.” Always seems like you’re interrupting them from what I’m not sure. I was the only one in the lobby. You get scolded up front “Do not get the towels dirty or you will be charged, Do not damage the room, you will be charged.” Have you looked at the rooms? Cause you haven’t fixed any damage. It’s to the point that I take pictures of the towels and the room so they don’t come back later and say I dirtied the towels or damaged the room.
The AC didn’t work but we were afraid to say anything based on how we were treated at check in. It’s a shame because the hotel is close to Lander University where my son attends.

The staff at checkin and checkout were extremely friendly. Room was clean and perfect for a one night stay for my daughter and myself. Convenience of fridge and microwave in the room. Loved being on bottom floor and able to park directly in front on our room, as that made unloading and loading extremely quick. Breakfast options for free onsite has enough variety for anyone. Highly recommend if staying in the area, plus you can’t beat their price.

I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this property. It's clean and the "breakfast house" is stocked with many healthy choices, as well as less healthy pastries. The biggest bang for your buck in Greenwood!

I cannot imagine that anyone would complain about this property. It is clean and well maintained. The breakfast cottage is far more than adequate, with a variety of healthy choices. You won't find a better motel in Greenwood for the price.

Just had an excellent stay at the Baymont. The hotel far exceeded my expectations. The staff were so nice and considerate. Will definitely stay there again when I come back to visit Greenwood!

Liked cleanliness of room.
Did NOT like check-in process and setup. Computer and desk where check-in staff works is behind glass and 10 feet from window/ out of view due to equipment. No one greets the customers— customer has to try to get their attention and you feel like you’re bothering them.

When I checked in, the employee made it seem as if I was bothering her just to do her job.
The room was adequate. Pretty outdated, bathroom door barely closed. Bathroom looked "dingy".
Hotel room was not properly cleaned before we got there. There was actually a previous customer's vape cartridge in the room.
On par with most of Greenwood's motels. I would just pick the cheapest next time.

Basic hotel for a night or two
It’s a decent enough hotel for a few nights. Relatively inexpensive. We had dampness in our room due to AC not being on when we arrived. We ended up just sleeping on top of the blankets we brought with us. Needs updating but it’s not the worst I’ve seen that’s for sure. We’ll probably stay again.

Well I'm waiting for my deposit to be entered back on my debit card cause they said as long as it's no smoking in the room and nothing is torn up then I can get my deposit back and it's nothing destroyed nor any smoking in my room which was room number 205!!!

Needs cleaning and repairs
There aren’t many hotel choices in Greenwood, SC, so we just went with the Baymont. The room smelled of sewage as soon as we walked in, but since it was late and our children needed to go to bed, we didn’t request a room swap. Come to find out, the smell was from the faulty AC unit. The carpet was soaked- you couldn’t walk on it without water coming through onto your feet. It had apparently been standing there for a long time, hence the smell. The bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned- there was a lot of different hair all over the tub. We got out of there as soon as we could. We reported the issues to the staff, who promised to look at the room, but unsure if the issues were fixed. Unfortunately, we will not be staying there again.

Terrible hotel, rude staff & dirty. AVOID
The front desk clerk was VERY rude. She didn't welcome us at all and she barely spoke to us. When she had us sign the receipt we couldn't understand what she was saying because she stood very far behind a plastic screen.
The rooms were EXTREMELY damp. The bed was damp, the towels and floor were almost wet and the A/C was turned off when we arrived.
There were 2 dead roaches on the floor of the bathroom.

Upon entry there was a strange smell , musky is the word that comes to mind but overall The room was clean and comfortable. We had a decent stay . Two things that I am upset about is the front desk clerk wasn’t gonna be accommodating at all to my needs . I asked if we could have a room on ground level because my boyfriend was having back issues and she said the rooms are pre booked . I get that but if you have our type room available on the ground floor you can easily accommodate that . Then after check out we were accused of smoking in the room , which I didn’t appreciate and we were charged $50 for something we didn’t do .

There was a ton of repaired areas in the walls, some not holding up very well, a couple of holes in the drywall and peeling paint in the bathroom. A cleaning rag was left on the counter. The fridge was broken and would not seal properly. The exterior is lovely. The breakfast attendant was very helpful and friendly.

Room smelled funky, hair dryer just being plugged in looked like a fire hazard, ironing board looked like it had been used for lord knows what. Surfaces were a little sticky but that was easily wiped down.
Breakfast had slim pickings but what was available was good.
Water pressure was decent, bed was comfortable, room was large.
Property was well lit and had visible security cameras. It’s off the main road and backs up to woods so staying as a single mom made me a little uncomfortable.
Shame on the person or “couple” that stayed before us and didn’t clean up after themselves. Right by the Bible and everything. Glad I opened the drawer instead of my curious kid. Found some Clorox wipes in the breakfast room so I cleaned up and didn’t fill the need to complain to the front desk.

It is just a very dirty motel. Clearly used by contractors, dirty walls, broken desk chair, etc. I have a high tolerance so it didn’t shake me but I will never go there again. Breakfast was Spartan but it may be due to Covid. Kind of surprised for a Wyndham product

Your facility was super clean and well-apportioned. Especially we enjoyed the separate dining facility used for the breakfast. We appreciated all the Covid precautions you are taking. That was very reassuring.
One drawback is that your facility is hidden from the road and a bit hard to find. It was very good, however.

Clean hotel- but needs updating.
The hotel was nice and clean- but outdated and needs some revamping.
There were some holes in the walls from old pictures, the caulking around the tub was missing and the toilet handle needed to be held down for 5 seconds or it wouldn’t flush.
I know those are minor issues- but it detracts from what should be expected from guests.
