We have stayed here many times previously when it was the Sheraton & I must say the vibe of Hotel Dena is much better. We ate in the bar one night & I particularly liked the Mahi Tacos. An easy walk to the Paseo with more restaurant options & then a short walk to the heart of Old Town Pasadena. Thank you Hotel Dena, we will be back.

I'm right beside the area everyone comes in with a loud door way to their rooms. the door has catch and its loud and when the door opens I can hear everyone in the bar which is not too far away. It's 10 pm and hopefully I will fall asleep and stay asleep otherwise tomorrow teaching at a yoga expo will be harsh. The hotel looks lovely and seems very cool, however, I think I just might just be in the wrong room. Every single person who comes through the loud security door (6 since i've been typing this) is loud - not them, the door is loud. there would be 30 rooms within this area - 2 more loud door noises since the last mention... whoops and another just now. terrible - don't stay in room 130.

We came for the rose parade events. The hotel was very close to the route. Also very close to restaurants and menus. Very happy with the hotel.

We enjoy the hotel. The hotel personal was very accommodating. We found the pillows too soft, we did not ask for replacements which I’m sure they would have been more than happy to give us. We recommend this hotel.

Overall, I liked this hotel as a fun theme facility loaded with vintage music, newspaper and film artifacts in a good location - very walkable. While the bathroom was very clean, the lighting was insufficient and towels scratchy; a used drinking glass was left on the bathroom sink. The beds and bedding was wonderful; we slept well. The room was clean enough, but someone should occasionally vacuum under the windows. The second floor hallway had an unpleasant odor and carpets appeared worn.

Small and dated rooms
The rooms and bathrooms are extremely small. Was difficult for two people to maneuver around without bumping into furniture. Also, all of the linens smelled of an incredibly strong perfume detergent, which made the whole hotel smell that way. Wall unit for air and heat was extremely loud. Finally, it was disappointing how long it took for the water to get warm/hot, a lot of wasted water in the process..
Lobby and bar/lounge were cool, friendly staff. Parking was $30 a night.

Art, elegance & charm
We were visiting Pasadena for a game in the Rose Bowl. From check in to check out, everything at Hotel Dena was perfect. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The entire hotel has a cool, art vibe, with a romantic charm. This hotel paid attention to details too with quality shampoos, soaps, furniture and art placement, and beautiful finishes and materials. We could not have been happier or more comfortable during our stay and can’t wait to go back.

I liked that it was so close to the convention center which was perfect for us since we were attending an event there so we could go back and forth as needed. Conveniently located within walking distance of so many restaurants and stores. Most importantly it felt safe

This was only our second time staying here. We again had a great time. Thank you to all staff. The guy at the front entrance directing people and answering questions was very polite and very helpful. Sorry i didnt get his name. And Rosie at the bar was so good at her job and very sweet. Rosie made it a very fun experience. Room was very clean. And so were the surrounding areas.

The nitrous nice. Not a good hotel for the disabled. When you enter the room one must go down stairs to get to the living area..Also the light in the bathroom was very faint. Difficult to see. For this reason I will not use Hotrk Dana again.

Very nice place, bathrooms too dark
Very cool trendy hotel with a retro feel. Bathroom is wayyyyy too dark. Next time, I need to remember not to get a room right above the pool. The noise doesn’t go into the late evening hours though so it isn’t horrible.

An F for cleanliness and courtesy.
Waited in the lobby to checkin as there we no rooms available for checkin prior to 4pm, which was completely understandable as the hotel was sold out the evening prior. Was told by those working the lobby that if I waited, several rooms should be clean and available shortly. We were the only ones in the lobby waiting for about an hour. A new staff person came to assist with checkin and assigned rooms to 3 people who came in long after we did. Finally got to the room and didn’t notice until we were leaving the following morning that the sheets were blood stained and the stains were hidden at the foot of the bed where I’m sure housekeeping thought we wouldn’t notice. I find this disgusting, and even more so when we paid a great deal for this room at a hotel which we thought had a reputation for cleanliness. Bad experience overall.

Not so happy
I liked the room as all marriot hotels. We stayed in a double queen bed.
The problem was the elevators. They have 3 but only 1 was working. Actually my husband got stock in one of them and after some minutes the elevator went to level B ( second floor down on the parking lot) and there was no stairs to get to the lobby. So, he had to walk through the garbage spot to get out to the st and come back tolobby.
Since it’s is located behind the Convention center a lot of big groups participating in American got talent stayed there which made the wait for elevator too long.
We were on second floor so, we stopped using the elevator and going by the stairs, which by the way were very nasty.

Feels like this hotel is half way through a re-do but we got one of the not-yet-done rooms. I stay here all the time, love the location, love the beds (comfy). There was no way to charge a phone next to the beds, there were no towels and no water in the work-out room, and there were no waters in the rooms. Just felt half done. Hopefully this will change.

The rooms were not ready all the girls were getting ready in the bathroom and lobby because the rooms were not ready and it was 2hrs after check-in. Other than that hotel is really nice beds are comfy.

Hotel rebranded and did not receive notification. Room amenities similar to Motel 6. General layout more befitting of a 2.5 star hotel.

The room looked nothing like the pictures. It felt as though the room was created out of a former utility room. And, it was next to the elevators, which meant I heard guests entering the floor at all hours of the night. I did not get a good night sleep.

The staff at the front desk was great. They were friendly and efficient. I liked the water station.
The property was disappointing. The wall makes it difficult to know the entrance. There was no one at the podium to help up the stairs (just trash).
There is a DIY market that sells yogurt and ice cream, but no spoons! Nothing in room either. Had to go back down to bar and wait in line for plastic spoon!!!
For a city that brags about their film talents my TV worked sometimes.

Improvements on the way
I stayed here a couple times before when it was a Sheraton. The hotes transition to Hotel Dena is looking good. Staff is very nice. Like that they added a self checkout store. The mini theater area is super cute. A/Cs are still so loud and when you turn it off, the next door neighbors are easily heard, but that is probably a hard problem to fix since more construction requiring. Elevators a are still slow but seemed a little better. Nothing can beat the location if you are there for the Convention Center.

We can walk to old town Pasadena and can find many kinds of restaurants there easily. This hotel is in a pretty safe area.
