Great stay!
Cub’s Convention, 2024. Great stay with friendly atmosphere, especially our breakfast waiter, David Kenny, at the River Cafe, who seemed like family by the end of the trip. Excellent waiter!

Check in so long
I had no idea that the Sheraton is THEE place to stay for NYE. Check in took an hour. Having said that, the staff did a great job getting everyone checked in as quickly as possible. The location of the hotel can’t be beat. It has everything within walking distance.

We asked for a non smoking room, but we were given a smoking ( mj smelling) room. I am very disappointed. It was new year and the hotel is packed, so we put up with the smell. The price to upgrading to a view towards the river and are willing to pay $60 extra but we are charged more than that. Urgh

We enjoyed our stay and location of hotel. Pool area was amazing and family friendly. However, our mattress was awful for adult. Our kids didn’t complain though 😊

The size of the room was smaller than we would have liked. We had issues with the room key not working with the parking garage. We got locked out of our room and the key had to be reprogrammed for us at the door. The internet went out numerous times while we were watching tv. Overall the experience was not that great at all.

I spent 2 and half hours checking in to the hotel for NYE. Very poor hotel management. Short staffs and dinning is so bad. The swimming pool and water are so dirty. If you are booking this hotel for the same reason - indoor swimming pool then don’t try. The room is so dirty. Not amenities at all. Everything needs to call and requested. It takes forever for them to deliver something. Overall is poor management. Very bad hotel room and not family friendly.

Booked the Illinois Suite at level 34 and was able to see both the Navy Pier fireworks and Chicago River Fireworks. Because it was the New Year’s eve so hotel parking was full, I had to park at a different place. The only complaint is we had to wait in queue for over an hour to be able to check-in due to huge rush. The property could have increased the number of employee staff at the reception desk keeping in mind of the crowd. Rest all was great experience.

There was a ridiculously long line to check in. I reserved a room with a king bed and they gave me a room with two twin sized beds. lol... This is a motel 6 with a fancy name.

Beds needs improvement
Pillows were obsolete, had no fluff. Felt like I had no pillow. Comforter sheets was thin like it was missing the comforter. Everything else was great.

There is nothing special about this property and sure doesnt live up to the Sheraton Grand standard. The rooms are nicely remodelled and look good. Check-in wait time was horrible and maid service was terrible. There are only sheets on the bed, no comforter or anything heavierbthan a sheet. The view of the river from the room was great but given the rest of the issues its not worth staying there again in my opinion. Its no better than your run of the mill hotel.

We were really happy and impressed with Sheraton Grand River Walk. The staff was incredible, we had cleaning every day and the rooms were very well equipped. THe location is very convenient too, if you are looking to be around downtown. We would recommend staying there.

A real disappointment -- coffee maker broken, no fridge, outrageous resort fee, no room amenities (e.g. robes). Extortionate *self* (not valet) parking, and trapped in garage because of broken card reader.

Over all we had a nice stay, but a few things were disappointing. The blow dryer didn’t work properly, it only blew cold air. The shower door didn’t seal, so no matter where the shower head was pointed water would make its way out and in the floor. Leaving a puddle and soaked towel rug. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work. We didn’t have any linens for the pullout, but the hotel was quick to deliver them when we called. When we opened the pull out it wasn’t clean. We requested a crib which the hotel was quick to deliver but it’s small. My 1.5 y/o filled the whole thing.
Overall it was nice stay, some small things were annoying. But it didn’t impact us that much.

It was the perfect location. Loved that we walked out of the hotel and the river was right there. We took a night stroll after dinner and the view of the city took our breath away. Highly recommend Shulas restaurant on the premises. It was pricey but very worth it.

Amazing location!
Amazing location in the heart of the Riverwalk! Easy walks to the Navy Pier as well as so much to see and do! Super clean around the hotel. Service was amazing and I love the location! I took the night architectural tour and they even pointed out how beautiful the building was on our tour!

We had such a warm reception at the Sheraton. They even gave us Yummy Chicago popcorn and free souvenirs! Room service was excellent. Their hamburgers were so good we ordered them twice! Beds were super comfortable.

The room was quiet and spacious. The bed was comfy. Parking took a sec to figure out but was fine. It wasn't well explained, how the parking worked. Would have been nice to know how to do it before we sat puzzling in the garage. The receptionist that checked me in was not amazing. She was rude, generally frustrating. I had reserved two rooms under my reservation but put the other guest's name on the second room as what I thought was just the additional guest, not the only person who could check it in. So when I checked in, she said I only had one room, which wasn't true, and I wasn't allowed to check in for both rooms I HAD RESERVED MYSELF. She required the other guest to do it, and she was parking the car at the time. No apologies, nothing. Which then set me in a bad mood, so I was perhaps a bit short in return (but not mean or anything). But the room itself was great, quiet, clean, but I wish it had a frig in it already for our leftovers.For a suite, I guess I just had assumed we wouldn't have to call the front desk to get one sent up. Just kinda odd, for how much the room cost.

We requested a fridge for the room and the first fridge they sent up was covered in cobwebs (in the back) and didn't work. When we informed them they sent another fridge which did work. The ice machine on our floor and on the floor below was not working and when we informed them they told me that the others should be working and when I said I wasn't willing to walk floor to floor they sent ice up for ice. The walls were very thin and we could hear the guests in the next room even though they were not being particularly loud. The TV internet did not work and despite them rebooting it twice we were unable to stream or watch movies. In response to all these issues they comped us room service breakfast the next morning which came up cold and the toast was soggy. We will not be staying there again which is a shame because the location is wonderful.

Be aware of the destination fee
Be aware of any destination fee that you paid should contain a hotel food and beverage fee for each day of the stay. I wasn't told of such credit until the last day of my stay and the hotel tells me that those credits cannot be stacked...

Disappointing additional per night fee
The hotel was fine, as expected as advertised, nothing special, and did the job. What I found really annoying was after spending a lot of money on the booking to be forced to pay an additional $25 plus tax per night to get a bag of popcorn, and other unwanted incentives. Just a trick to scam more money out of us. It was embarrassing going to the front desk of a decent hotel every day asking for a bag of popcorn. Totally unnecessary and ruined my experience. And its clear this annoys a lot of people as they make a very clear point of emailing the day before arrival clarifying its not voluntary.

i was going to stay at the hotel to run the Chicago Marathon but I found I have severe arthritis in my knee and my doctor wrote a note stating that I could not participate which means I did not need the room. I contacted Hotels.com, from whom I booked the room and explained the situation & sent the doctor's letter. They said they reached out to you for an waiver to the Non-refundable clause on this room. They said that you would not change your policy.
It's funny because when I called your hotel I was told that it was Hotels.com policy and not yours - is this correct?
I would appreciate any comments

Stay away from the Sheraton Riverwalk in Chicago.
Check in was listed at 3PM. We arrived at 5:15 and were told the room was not ready, but would be in 15 minutes. At 6 o'clock the room was still not ready.
We had dinner reservations at 6:30, so we went to dinner because the room was not ready.
We had 4 adults for the room. We were offered a room with a king bed and a roll away, with no mention of the size.
While we were at dinner, we were texted that the room was ready.
Today, we found a used fake eyelash and a used straw on the furniture.
While the reservation said that it included breakfast, when we went to breakfast in hotel "restaurant", we were asked for a voucher. We never received one. We did get breakfast complimentary.
Finally, with all of the issues, we were told we would be credited and that the $65 / day parking would be "comped". When leaving the parking area, we were charged $30... and we were not there 24 hours.
This was the worst hotel experience i have encountered - service, room, truthfulness... I would NOT recommend this hotel to my worst enemy... and will not consider returning.
I'll be calling them again, regarding credits and the "comped" parking.

Convenient location, room is a bit outdated.
The water view was great.
We had one good night but the second night party people moved in into adjoining room and we couldn't sleep. We could hear their loud TV and all conversations. It took 2 phone calls to the reception to get security to calm the party down by 2am.
The room was not very clean, hair and visible dust on surfaces.
Destination fee of $25 was a nuance.

The location is excellent. The guy at the gate rushed us to park our car, and I forgot my luggage, so I had to go back. The people were okay, not rude, but not as friendly as other hotels I have seen. The prices are high, mostly due to the location, but I guess it's worth it if these are the prices in downtown.

This was my second visit. I like the hotel location close to the river. The only thing I was disappointed in they charge 30.00 to check in early. My husband is handicapped and has trouble walking around so needed to check in early to rest. I just joined the Marriott Bonvoy. So hopefully they will offer a few perks.

Staff members are not the greatest! One lady tried to charge me again and when I told her I already gave my card she left me and I had to wait for another staff member. He then was able to give me my room key. Also no one told me about the $25 voucher I had until the end of my stay. Parking was also cramped!

Check in was very slow. It was Saturday night on a holiday weekend and I think they had only 3 people checking in. The line took at least 30 minutes. We arrived to check in at 6:30 and they said there weren't any rooms ready yet. They said they were fully booked and were still cleaning. My spouse thought they might have overbooked because the people next to us said they were told the same thing several hours earlier. It seemed like check-in was not well-organized based on their reservations and bookings. They let us check our luggage and texted us when our room was available/ready so we were at least able to go get dinner. Due to a number of weddings that evening, the parking garage was full so we parked at a different garage which was actually cheaper, but not as convenient. Check in was the only hiccup. The rest of our stay was great: room was clean, comfortable, nice view of river and city, had a cocktail at the bar that was great, the kids enjoyed the pool. It was probably just really chaotic on Saturday with so many events, the holiday weekend, etc.

Sheraton Chicago Riverwalk
It was a nice location on the Chicago Riverwalk. It had a beautiful view of the river and Lake Michigan. Amenities are nice and hotel is nice overall. It needs room updates though. Plumbing is extremely noisy and parking garage is always filled. Somehow they should figure out a way to keep the garage open to hotel guests only. Parking in other garages is very inconvenient for hotel guests and you are charging me a surcharge hold on my credit card anyway.

It's a nice hotel and the view was exactly what I was expecting, but those taxes and fees were over the top, especially the "Destination Fee", what's up with that???
I guess it could have been worse, it could have been a surprise, at least they had the decency to tell us about it upfront!!!

Clean and Great Location
Hotel is very nice and in a great location. Check-in was good/fast but we received ZERO info on the hotel and had to ask about included perks or we would’ve missed out (daily free popcorn, internet, water and gift from the store). TV didn’t work and we had to call for assistance which was promptly addressed. Parking is hard to find (under hotel) but convenient once you find it. Chicago Burger Company on the lower floor was awesome! Best smash burger we’ve ever had and price was reasonable. Would stay here again.
