Small place, stayed two nights. Rooms are small. The breakfast is not good. It is worth paying 100 a night. We paid over 200 a night for our stay. Not worth it for the price.

The staff was friendly. The pet fee was only $15 for my dog - so that was a big plus. However there is no elevator and we had to drag our luggage to the 2nd floor. This hotel smelled like smoke in the lobby and hallways and had a weird smell in the room. I would call the condition less than average. It could use some updating.

Guest rooms smell like smoke
It's a basic hotel which is usually more than satisfactory for a quick stay when we're on a short trip to a new place. However, we stayed in a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke. The breakfast consisted entirely of pre-packaged honey buns and instant oatmeal.

Terrible stay
This was such a bad hotel we checked in and checked right out, it was dirty, filled with bugs and moldy. If AIDS and cancer had a baby it would be this hotel, biggest hotel disaster ever. Never stay here and hotels.com should remove it as a possibility

Internet users beware...
If you are looking for a decent internet connection, don't stay here. Otherwise, it is a great place to stay. It is close to many amenities, clean, and all around nice hotel.

Super 8 fit my desire for a safe and convenient place to stay near Virginia Tech. Staff were friendly and kind and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to a number of restaurants, stores, and the university, and it was the best price of the hotels I searched. Breakfast is quite sparse, and the amenities and general "feel" are fairly no-frills, but it fit the bill for my purposes, and I had a very nice experience.

Overall, this property is very nice! It was convenient to my primary purpose for being in C'burg: the State Age-Group Swimming Championships. There is a nice assortment of shopping and dining nearby, but driving is almost mandatory.
My one complaint: the mattress in my room was worn-out, with spring-tops painfully evident.

Dirty..the bathroom was NASTY.
Everything dusty and the smell of cigarettes everywhere even in the room where it should be smoke free. The fridge had mold. Never again.

The first two rooms had an odor that was totally unacceptable. I insisted that my payment be returned. The manager was very nice and kept looking until he found a room on the second floor without any odor. Was not impressed with the facilty.

Early check in
I was in town for a funeral and arrived at front desk at 10:30am. I asked if there was any way I could check in early. It was no problem. I was able to relax for a few minutes, after driving 6 hours, before the noon funeral.

Worst experience ever
This was my worst stay at a hotel. I am glad it was for one night. Me and my son checked into sleep and immediately.noticed that there was something that was allergic in the room. Did not bother much, went to very disturbed and troubled sleep and woke up sneezing in the morning.. all through the day. My son had stuffiness and headache. It interfered with our activities for the day. And as I write this is I am still sneezing and developing a sore throat.
The room was the cheapest I could find and it is a big lesson learnt to not go for something because the price is a bargain. It was the worst hotel experience of my life.

It doesn't look anything like in the picture. It is a run down property. Hallways had a very strong smoke smell. Beds were very uncomfortable and were creaking so loudly, when you toss and turn, it wakes everyone up. Internet just didn't work (very very slow). The breakfast is horrible. The coffee wasn't hot, had old, dry danishes and oranges. They call this breakfast. The property is old and rundown. Not for me for sure.

Love me some throw back to 1980's and the smell of you know what, cigarettes and pinesol rampant throughout the place. Great staff and will always choose a Super 8 over the Waldorf anyday!!

Cigarette smoke from other rooms blew into our smoke free room through vents. It was clear the staff had tried to spray scented cleaners to cover it. Roaches everywhere and unfortunately 3 made it home in our luggage. Towels are small thin and scratchy. They should not be allowed to charge the exorbitant rates for a football game weekend given the dirt and smell.

The worst hotel experience
The hotel room was less than desirable. There was dust everywhere, hair on the gasket of the refrigerator, rust on the top of the refrigerator, the freezer was full of ice, the air conditioner had a crack on the face and when running it vibrated making an irritating noise, the air conditioner was off when we arrived, the tub was filthy. The outside of the building and parking lot were not clean, empty bottles of alcohol were in the parking lot, a pair of shorts were on the stairs to the back door and it was obvious they had been there for at least several days. The night staff was indifferent to the filth, and seemed to be used to hearing complaints. The morning staff was at least apologetic. This was by far the worst experience we have ever encountered when traveling.

A far cry from decent
The room was outdated, dusty, hair on the gasket for the refrigerator, rust on the top of the refrigerator, air conditioner turned off so the room was warm and humid, face plate to air conditioner was cracked and made noise when running, bathtub was filthy dead bug on top of refrigerator. Outside, there was an empty liquor bottle in parking lot along with shorts. There was other litter, appearing that that they do not keep up with the outside of the building.
Had the sheets not looked clean, I would have demanded my money back and gone somewhere else. I was tired, so I dealt with the rest.

Walked into a musty smelly room. Turned on AC, stayed on all night and struggled to get to the set temperature (which it did not get to). Window had wet mold in the frame (didn't see until morning). Wall lights were tilted and bulbs were different shades. Bathroom walls were disgusting as there were "boogers" on them (didn't see until morning). The top bedding had "spots/stains" on it (didn't see until morning). If I didn't arrive so late & could get my money back for cancelling I would have. This hotel needs major renovations/cleaning/attention. I have pictures showing all of these.

Place is complete dump! Reminded me of a "notel hotel"! Room smelled like smoke and there were even ashtrays on the desk! Didnt realize smoking rooms were a thing anymore!! Bed was very uncomfortable! Took some things out to my vehicle about an hour before check out and i guess cleaning staff thought i was checking out early, because when i came back to my room they had started stripping the bed, throwing pillows on desk spilling a frsh cup of coffee! At that point i was so mad i just decided to leave! This place should be demoed and and build a new, nicer hotel to take its place!! I will never stay at this hotel again and would recommend that others dont as well.

You get what you pay for.
I knew that only paying 100.00 a night it wouldn’t be a luxury hotel. This was a last minute booking, as I was still unexpectedly still in town at 1:30 am and was just looking for a place to sleep for about 6 hours. It’s very dated, as the bathroom light switch and built in hair dryer was so old it had yellowed in color. The room had a damp musty feel and smell. The bed was extremely hard! The room chair was dirty and worn and the bottom wooden part was covered with so much dust you could barely tell the color of the wood. The shower curtain had a lot of black mold/mildew on it. There was an old rubber stopper with a chain for the tub. It’s was yellowed in color and also had black mold/mildew spots on it. There is no elevator. If you’re on the second floor be prepared to go up two fights of steps with all your luggage. If you park around the back and use that entrance, also be prepared to go up another set of stairs just to reach the entrance. The gentleman who checked me in was not friendly at all and explained nothing, only asking for my license and credit card. When it says breakfast included, don’t be fooled like I was. Breakfast was coffee and two small baskets of wrapped lunch cakes.

It was ok for a 1 night stay. No elevator. My room was upstairs, had to change room. I had paid for king size bed room but ended up with a 2 bedroom on bottom floor. Don’t think I would stay there again.

Quick Trip easy check in check out and clean.
Quick little stay, lobby smelled like stale cigarettes and the stair well to the second floor smelled the same but the hallway upstairs and our room was clean had so odor.

I believe the hotel was relatively clean. There was an extremely strong cleaner smell when we walked in that was overwhelming for awhile, but we were grateful it was clean. I also recommend that one is careful getting in and out of the tub.
The cleaner was not washed down well and it was very slippery, but the shower was immediately hot. The beds were comfortable and the pillows nice and soft. The concierge was friendly and pleasant.

I was sick from the amount of air fresheners being used to cover the smell of the sewer. Air fresheners line the hallway incense hits you in the face as soon as you walk in the door. Eventually I threw up from it.

The smoke smell is the first thing that greets you when you walk in the door. The lobby is rundown and does not make a good first impression. The hallways reeked of smoke. The room was slightly better with the sheets having burn holes and were very rough to the touch. Overall it was not dirty inside the room but the accommodations were outdated. The TV was small and not even in a place you could view it. The breakfast was not even really a breakfast just imitation Honeybuns and we didn’t even attempt to eat because the smoke smell was so bad!! I had tried to get my money back before staying and was refused. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never stay there again!

Perfect for overnight stay on long trip.

I had a comfortable stay. Rooms are pretty basic but had everything I needed. Bed was fine and pillows were great. Internet was VERY slow. I gave up and used a hot spot. Pretty convenient to Virginia Tech. Lots of food choices and shopping nearby. Staff was nice.

The room was clean. Housekeeping offered room service but we only requested clean towels and they gave us an extra bath towel which has been unusual. The room was a smoking room and that was awesome considering the weather! Awesome stay!! Thank you!!

$227 for one night and the staff tells me the yellow and brown stain spots on the towels are normal since the laundry machines can’t get the stains out?
It’s not the staffs fault since they are just trying to get by paycheck to paycheck to fee their families.
Why doesn’t the owner buy new towels and laundry machines?
Maybe that’s why he is charging so much?
Not a Wyndham level of cleanliness.

This property had signs all around stating it was a no smoking property but yet as soon as you walk in the small outdated lobby it stinks of smoke.... i thought the room would be better but it wasn't . The room was extremely outdated with a real small tv ... definitely felt dirty although the beds were clean and fine. We paid $200 for one night and we definitely will not be staying here again while we visit our son at VT! This hotel needs a complete overhaul!

Family Weekend
Visiting our son at V Tech. Hotel very dated but reasonably clean. Price reflective of limited rooms bc of family weekend not the property itself. Could use a general overhaul. Rooms non smoking but halls and property smell of smoke.

Ok for a night sleep.
Simple place to crash for a night. Stains in the carpet. Chair cushion was almost flat. AC was off when arrived, on a very hot day. Shower had only warm water.

Super 8 was a room to sleep, that is all. The inside of the hotel had a smell of deodorizer spayed over permeated smoke. The room as well. It does not smell like someone smoked in there recently but the smell is definitely still there.

STAY AWAY - Horrible Property
When I went to check in, they didn't have my reservation, AND, there were no rooms available. The lobby was a bit in disarray. After talking to Hotels.com, they miraculously found that someone gave MY room away, but they had a different room for me. I then checked in, went to the room, and was met with a nasty odor. There was dust and cigarette ash on the nightstand, the headboard as well as the ac unit. There were cigarette burns on the carpet and it looked very dirty. I saw it on the bed and it was the most uncomfortable bed I had ever been on. I was physically ill sitting in that room.

There was a terrible "musty" smell in the hallway and the room. As if the floor had been wet for a period of time and was know dried with some type of odor trapped. The air conditioner when turned on sounded like a car engine at times... otherwise room was neat and clean and well taken care off.
