Smoke smell and lack of accessibility
The hotel itself is pretty run down and smells of weed/cigarette smoke. The room was surprisingly clean-- I say surprisingly because it smelled immediately wet and like smoke. There is also a lack of accessibility- no ramp to the first floor rooms. The first floor has three steps down to it. The coffee here is also awful- it's like instant mixed with hot water in the machine and it made one of my friends sick. Wouldn't recommend this place.

You will like this place
I enjoyed my time at the Inn. The couple running the place were kind and attentive. Anything I needed they were able to supply. The toilet in my room was malfunctioning and I mentioned it to the front desk and within 30 min, maintainance was at the door and had it fixed. It was quiet and peaceful. I do plan to stay here again when I visit family in VA.

The room was fine. I was there for two nights. After the first night, my room was not cleaned and given new coffee and towels.

Anywhere else would be better
Smoky. Chair was black from dirt. Carpet was nasty. Bed was comfortable but that’s about it. Glad we only were there to sleep and leave.

Stale odor
I enjoyed my stay. Only one minor problem…upon entering the room there was a stale odor. You can detect it each time you go into the room. After several minutes it was not detectable.

Pros- convenient, inexpensive.
Cons- dirty, smoke-free room smelled like smoke, some people were head loudly fighting and yelling most of the night.

Staff was pleasant. Room was clean. Hallways are a little dark, but it could be due to the carpet and paint color.

When you walk in it smells like smoke but in the room
( non smoking room at least ) it didn’t smell bad at all. The room was clean when I walked in. Nice size room. Bathroom was clean. The front desk was super helpful. My tv wasn’t working and they tried fixing it and sent maintenance immediately. For the price I say it’s worth it. I’ll definitely be going back when I drive back down.

The room was clean and comfortable, staff was very nice, only complaint was that the lobby and hallways smelled heavily of smoke and pot. It seeped into the room. Might be nice to post a no smoking policy in the common areas?

Decent hotel
We were in the area for a funeral. We didn't want to pay over $100 a night for a room, so we didn't have high expectations.
What we liked: Location, Smoking allowed, Not too strong of an odor, the refrigerator and microwave. TV was nice and big. A.C worked really well. A few restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking in the back and right of the highway. A grocery store and liquor store very close.
What we didn't like: Shower had. very low water pressure, Towels were rough as hell, we requested 1 queen but got 2 double beds instead, clumps of dust on the bed. I had housekeeping pick it up, we didn't have any idea of what it was. Pillows were small. The freezer needs to be defrosted. We were only there for 2 days so the room served it's purpose. We slept really well. Mostly because we were exhausted. You could feel the springs in the mattress. No hangers. Chair looked nasty, needed to be cleaned. Stains on iron board. No elevator, and we were on the 3rd floor. No Breakfast but they did have coffee in lobby. Overall decent hotel for short stays. Especially if other hotel prices are high. It looks like they had a recent name change, it was called City Center Inn.

This property It is OK for one night perhaps. It is not the worst but it can you some Upgrades. The dresser and TV stand has some chips and wear on it. There is somewhat of a oldness odor so they can use some fragrance around . The doors can be upgraded, the bathroom is not too bad. The front desk lady was nice.

I would NOT recommend this location! The place reeked in f SMOKE; the beds, bathrooms, room decor and location are very old and outdated! It reminds you of a horror movie hotel! Don’t choose this location!

The property was what I needed - a clean, safe place to stay for the night that was economical and close to the city. They had coffee available if you wanted it. I was able to get in and out of the property easily.

I did not enjoyed the lady that checked me into the property. She spoke so low I could barely hear her and when asked why she needed my credit card she responded in such a rude way. She needs a lecture on customer service. The room was ok. But it was difficult to sleep too much noise

Front desk attendants were very rude. No customer service skills at all. Their rooms and hallway smelled musty. No towels and bathrooms were dirty. They took copies of ID even though I explained to them that we booked through Expedia and paid in advance. When we checked out I asked to get the copies of ID back so we can initial them, they refused. The hotel is nothing like advertised online. I do not and will not recommend this place.

I understand it is a low-price hotel. Some condition items like poor patching of walls, and finding a bug crawling in room, can be easily resolved. Hopefully you will.

The hotel was clean and staff’s customer service was great. It was a quick overnight stay with my 8 year old who loves it. I was disappointed that it advertised having a gym but there’s no gym. Other than that I would stay again.

Great Staff, Meh Hotel
The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They were able to answer my calls about my booking and was able to check in extremely late at night with no issues.
As for the hotel? The hallways smelled strong of smoke. There was a stain on one of the mattresses, although the sheets clean. Beds were on the stiff side but not uncomfortable. The bathroom was perfect fine, although I recommend adding a plastic curtain to keep the water in the tub.

On a Saturday night there is limited hotel availability in the Norfolk, Hampton, Virginia Beach area so you get what you you can find. This hotel is adequate don’t get me wrong but not very nice

I never checked in because the front desk was completely unresponsive to my repeated attempts to check in. Expedia did not help me resolve this to my satisfaction. If I don’t get a refund for this place, I will never use Expedia again.

felt like a flop house
The front desk staff was doing her best - running around doing laundry, cleaning, etc. My heart went out to her. The halls reeked of cigarette smoke which seeped into the room. People were nice but it just felt a little like a flop house. I was embarrassed to have my mother stay there. We cut our trip short by 2 days because it was just not doable. The wifi was good though

The check-in clerk was very unfriendly and slow to find the reservation. The bathroom sink fixture was caked with a white powder (possibly cleanser). When making the clerk aware of the situation, she handed me a rag and some spray cleaner. there had been a leak in the ceiling and the patch was coming off the ceiling. In the bedroom area it looked like someone had shaken up a bottle of soda and let it hit the ceiling. I had to go buy a deodorizer to make the room livable. I would never stay there again.

Immediately when you walk in, you’re hit with a smell of stale smoke. No one at the desk. Halls poorly lit, just kind of looks dark and dingy. Luckily, the room was the only part that didn’t wreak of smoke. Unless you are a smoker, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Just not very clean in general.

Generally, the place needs a DEEP CLEANING! The bed was like a slab of slate, the pillows weren't pillows at all and I had a horrible night's "sleep" - in that I did not sleep much on that very hard bed!

Honestly pay the extra $50 and get a decent branded hotel! The hotel served it’s purpose but I had very mixed experiences from being Ok to just wishing I could have refunded. I told myself while searching “just pay for a better hotel” but chose this midlevel price range. The hotel served its purpose but I wouldn't stay there again for half of what I paid. I would still pay the additional for a better hotel.

Non-smoking room smelled like ashtray
Furnuture and furnishings are a bit below average but usable. However, our non-smoking room smelled like an ashtray. Horrible stay. Why does it have 6.8 out of 10 rating?!

Upon arrival the lady at front desk was asleep. She seemed to have an attitude. Not very friendly. The room was dirty. Killed 2 roaches while there. Bed sheets were stained. Tub was dirty. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and what looked like magets on ceiling as well.

Not the best
The beds were comfortable and it was a warm stay. The carpet was extremely sticky and I wouldn't let my baby crawl around on it. The hotel hallway reeked of marijuana and someone was obviously smoking in their rooms. When I brought that up to the front he said there was nothing he could do about it. Overall not the best day ever probably will not stay there again.

Bathroom was clean.The staff was friendly But the room was somewhat vacuumed but not fully vacuumed it looked someone half vacuumed or not vacuumed at all. The beds sheet were not fully iron it looked someone was in the room before , there was some hair on of the beds . And also we found some random socks in the corner of room where the lamp was , my assumption who ever cleaned , I didn’t know how to clean or didn’t even to clean.

I had to re-register my key card each day to get back into my room. The web sight said breakfast was included but there was none. Desk people were friendly. Did leave medication behind but nobody reported finding it.

This place is a DUMP! The strong smell of cigarettes and marijuana is overwhelming. No elevator. When I saw the dirty pair of socks behind the bathroom door that was the deal breaker for me. I left and immediately cancelled my reservation and called my credit card company for a refund. Strongly suggest Expedia not book at this DUMP!

The hotel did not have an elevator. The smell of cigarette smoke was so overpowering it made our eyes water. The arm chair and curtains in the room were stained, and the carpet was wrinkled posing a tripping hazard. One of the towels in the bathroom was dirty, and the air conditioner was extremely noisy.

Not a good place to stay
They having smoking & non-smoking rooms. Some of the covers had burn marks. The only building smelled of cigarette smoke as soon as you walk in the building

Advertised breakfast and had nothing except coffee that was clearly days old. They could have had a wrapped danish at least. The coffee pots in the room were dusty INSIDE the pot.

I had call before i got there the female that answer the phone was nice i told her i were from out of town and i were on my way to the hotel.I ask her was my room ready she ask for my information i told her she should your room is ready because i has paid a week in advancei said ok thanks im almost there.When i get there it was a female at the window she ask can i help u i said shore told her my name she said there no room in your name i said i just call here she said when 15 min ago she said it was not me,i said i spoke to a lady and she told me my room where ready i told her let me give my name again then she said oh yea then she said the room not ready till 3pm but i have it i ask her can i get my room now she said i guess. I gave her ID then she said i need your card i said the room is paid for she said yea but just incase anything get broken or stolen i have your card on file. I did not like the hotel had no elevator my room was on the 3rd floor i had a large suite case my legs is bad never said u had to take the steps that were terrible.I get to the room i did not like never again i was there for three days ran out of toilet tissue my floor needed vacuum i ask no service same lady told me i had to request the night before for service from housekeeping i said dam but ok.The toilet seat were in bad shape but i got a call from the front desk second day I were there asking me can the maintenance come in to change the seat never again bad service will not stay never again

Expedia stuck us here after overbooking the nice hotel suite we paid for. Very disappointed with Expedia, took over an hour and a half for them to help us and we got stuck with this place.
