Cambridge gem
One factor in booking here was the note that parking was free - when I arrived I found out it was actually over $30/night but that was still good for the area I was looking at, so I based my whole trip on this surprise extra cost - and it was still an excellent experience, well worth it - but as a bonus, at the end they said the parking fees were waived because of the online booking through this site, so that made it feel like a huge bonus. The coffee was an automated espresso machine in the lobby - it was far superior to any room coffee I've had. I alternated working in the room and in the lobby for a change of scenery, both were great. Access wise, the location is incredible, a short walk to the Harvard T so I just left my car in the parking lot the whole time. Overall my biggest success at booking my own hotel online yet.

Loved the boutique feel of the entire property. Beautiful and comfortable lobby guest area with a fireplace. Though room was smallish there was an ample balcony.

I didn't get his name, but the man at the front desk was so lovely and helpful. Room was fine but definitely showing wear and tear - some stains, issue w shower door, etc. Overall was totally fine for 1 night.

A nice hotel within walking distance for subway into Boston. Nearby Main Street had lots of dining options too. The room was beautiful but very small and the guest parking was tight. Everything went well for our two night stay.

Great location especially with Harvard so close and much to do in Cambridge Rooms a little tight but adequate and parking can be a challenge below the hotel. Lots of places to eat or just do take out and a very nice comfortable outside sitting area

I think you could describe the Hotel Veritas as a boutique hotel. It is a well renovated older building, I assume 19rh century, very near Harvard Square.
My disappointment came from the hotel’s use of foul scented cleaning solutions. The room was saturated with noxious fumes. I tried opening the window, but the smell covered everything. I checked out early the next morning. Environmentally and healthwise, there is no reason these chemicals should be used in a public place.
And this is not an inexpensive hotel. The bathroom toiletries, Floris brand, are not good for sensitive skin.
The furniture is in need of some maintenance. The desk was rickety. I was afraid it might collapse.
The hotel is not a good value.

Nice hotel on the edge of harvard square. our queen room had a fairly large balcony which was nice. rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. parking was included with expedia vip status which probably saved quite a bit. elevator was broken when we arrived so we had to bring luggage up four flights. not too big of a deal for us but could be for other visitors. it was fixed within an hour.

Great location and helpful staff
Very nice location and lovely lobby and room. Ryan was so helpful with underground parking. Next morning however, young man first refused to take my car out, but had the young woman do it. $34 for parking is a bit steep but overall wonderful time and lovely hotel.

Nice little hotel. Well located. Small rooms, but we’ll appointed. The Hotel.com page references using a health club, suggesting a relationship with a club. They don’t have a relationship with anyone. This should be removed. Other than that, good little spot.

Veritas Hotel is located right in Harvard Square, very convenient for the T and close to restaurants. It is clean but the rooms are a little small. The elevator is very slow but the stairs are close and easy to use.

Miniscule room
We have stayed two other times and previously been very happy. This time they put us in a tiny room. You had to turn sideways to walk around the bed or in the bathroom. When we asked the desk clerk to change he first indicated we were put in the wrong room but said there was nothing he could do. Even though the room across from us was empty (being cleaned for new occupants). This was the most expensive room per square foot we have ever stayed in.

The shower in my room was broken. It took quite a bit of effort for the front desk to move me to another room, and at first was told there was a room I could use for shower only, and then that I would need to check it of my room and check in again the next day. I’m very grateful
that they could work it out but the interaction wasn’t ideal. Also, some of the hallways and carpets are not in great shape and very stained/beat up. I expected a bit better. The rooms are also very very small, but the location is fantastic.

Overall the location, the room and facilities are all very good but what takes this hotel from very good to excellent is the service.
The staff are kind, helpful, friendly and professional. My choice was between this hotel or Fours Seasons. Glad I chose Hotel Veritas. Would definitely go again.

Harvard Square - boutique hotel
This is a nice boutique hotel in the busy Harvard Square area. The staff was excellent. Our parking was free with silver perks - a real bonus is you have a car -note large vehicles will not fit. My room had a bed that was too soft but some people will love that. I would recommend this place.

Con: Room extremely small…I mean barely enough room to put down luggage and be able to walk around the bed. Bathroom very small. Shower glass wall coming apart. Needs upgrades throughout. Maybe small rooms are standard in area but seriously there was just enough room for the bed and some space to get around the bed.

Perfect location, very clean and nice. What could be better would be that the 2 desk gentlemen we talked to were not very outgoing or overly friendly. The room was very nice except that it was very hot and we found out late at night we could not turn down the heat and cooling system fan did not do much to alleviate the heat.

All was great until we got to the room. There was no heat and unfortunately we were rather late checking in and it appears the whole first floor was without heat. I guess the upper floors , by the time we arrived, were all occupied. We were gracuiosly given a space heater , an extra blanket and free parking for the night by the super nice night manager, Brandon.

Nice but noisy
The hotel itself is quite nice. The room was fine and the staff was helpful.
Unfortunately, there were two very loud disturbances at 6:00 AM and again at 6:30 AM. It was garbage trucks just outside the hotel dumping very loudly metal containers.
Also, the hotel is on Mass Ave and just above the RedLine subway, which rumbles noticeably in the morning.

I loved this hotel!! It is in the heart of Cambridge along Massachusetts Ave. walking distance from restaurants, shops and Harvard Square. The rooms are ‘small’ but that is what makes it special - you are not staying in a generic hotel chain, this is a unique setting with views of the streets so you feel ‘alive’! They have a great little coffee machine in the lobby for hot teas, lattes, cocoa available 24 hours, as well as bottles of water for free. These can add up quickly in Boston so this amenity actually saves you money! The building is old but very clean. It was absolutely charming and I would go back in a second!

We had a nice day, the quality of our bed was great although we wish they had been another blanket because we were cold at night. The heating gets too hot and yet the room is cold without an extra blanket or duvet. The most tricky part was the shower door in room 202 pushes in and so the door gets wet when you turn on the water and it’s nearly impossible to get out when you’re finished. If one were heavy it would be in a possibility to use that bathroom so we feel it was installed incorrectly The coffee is delicious, it would be nice to have an easy way to heat the milk. Thank you

The hotel is exactly what we wanted and needed in terms of location in Harvard Square and the parking garage was convenient. Every single staff member was personable, friendly and helpful.
I would like to see more eco-friendly decisions made by the hotel, like coffee/espresso mugs for the Nespresso machine, instead of paper cups with plastic lids, and not even offering single-use bottled water, and instead installing a filter on the sink tap, perhaps. I also wish more hotels in the USA would adopt a refillable shampoo / conditioner system in the showers, instead of one-time use small bottles.

Warm Staff, Comfortable Room, Great Location
The Hotel Veritas is a beautifully-designed boutique hotel in close proximity to Harvard Square. Upon arrival, we got a warm, friendly greeting from the front desk, help with our luggage, and information about our room status. While the room was not ready, we took a short walk and received a prompt call when it was ready and were informed our luggage was already in the room. The room decor is elegant and cozy, taking advantage of space well for being a tight room. The finishes are high-end. Overall we had a wonderful stay. I will say though, however, the hotel is showing some signs of needed TLC, from a cracked glass top on one of the nightstands in our room, from stained carpets and walls in the room and in the hall. The lobby furniture looks worn and could use to be replaced. The gas fireplace in the lobby was never turned on, despite it being in the 30s outside. The small outdoor space was littered with trash and is deemed useless in the winter as there are no heaters or firepits. I think a few special touches could elevate this hotel further, but generally, we had a great stay thanks to the warm staff, comfortable room and great location.

What a great place!
First time stay at Hotel Veritas but visit Cambridge often. Really loved our stay here, convenient to Harvard campus and to restaurants and shops in the square.
Hotel lobby comfortable and staff very accommodating. Room was balcony was great and hope to use balcony in the future when weather is warmer!
We will be back!

An old hotel, old furnitures, dirty carpets. We stayed 2 nights fkr 264 $ per night without cleaning the room between each night. The room was very tiny and no place for putting our suitcases. They stayed on the dirty carpet... and we had to bend to the floor each time we needed something

This hotel room was unfortunately very dirty, with dark spots all over the carpet, and hair in the shower. My room key needed to be replaced twice in my one night stay as well, as it became demagnetized just from being in my bag. Unfortunate stay.

Elegant, good condition Queen room a bit small
Nice hotel located a few blocks from Harvard Square. Our room a bit small, elegant but more European style size. Queen bed, room in good condition bathroom roomy. Valet parking is expensive. Free coffee and tea and cocoa down in the lobby. Convenient to Cambridge and a 15 minute trip to Boston on the subway.

Fantastic hotel, beautifully appointed and maintained. With friendly staff, helpful and attentive. There’s someone at the desk at all hours - traveling on my own and walking back to the hotel at night - having someone there added a sense of safety and security. Neighborhood is nice, easy to walk to restaurants and shops. And of course the T. Having coffee/tea and water available at all hours was also a great amenity. I booked a “mini” room - small but clean and classy. With a balcony with table and chairs - a lovely place to have breakfast with my daughter. Already recommended this hotel to friends. Will stay here again!

The staff at the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location and the bed was wonderful. Our room was well appointed (chair a little thread bare) and we had a small balcony in our room that was very sweet. There was also a roof top balcony on our floor and space in the garden to sit. So close to Harvard square and restaurants. I would stay again.

One of the best experiences for hotel service. Everyone I interacted with was above-and-above helpful. The room itself was clean and nice. Small cozy sitting areas in lobby and an around the clock espresso machine are added bonuses.
My one note is that there are no USB outlets in the rooms so do bring the right charging cables with you.

The man that checked us in 6/14 was amazing! Very helpful, friendly, and overall great hospitality. He got us checked in promptly, took care of our valet parking, and even offered an umbrella when he noticed we forgot ours.
The room itself isn't big (bathrooms great size though!), but excellent location. Three mins away from Harvard University.

I was not certain whether I’d be staying one or two nights. The kind manager Brendan who checked me in said not to worry; there were plenty of other rooms and he’d honor the same room and price. He’d take care of my car. And the ice machine was broken.
When I decided to stay the other manager Justin told me I had to move to a smaller room; mine had been reserved. He was impertinent and rude.
Returning to my room late after a very long time and have drive I called the night manager Daniel to ask him if he could fix the toilet which alternately ran and dripped even after I tried to fix it. He nicely
came up looked at it without taking off the lid, stated it was only dripping and to close the door.
I am writing this review early on a Sunday morning because I was awakened because the cleaners are now cleaning the rooms next to mine. In disbelief I called down to manager Justin who informed me that when rooms are vacated they are cleaned. No apology. No offer to wait until check out time at noon. No respect that it is extremely early on a Sunday morning and that I came here to rest. Nothing.
The hotels location is great. But I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me. Customer service and respect for guests doesn’t exist in the managers vocabulary.

A favorite when in Cambridge.
The Veritas is conveniently located a few blocks from the Square, making everything I need to do on campus reachable within minutes.
The staff is top-notch - friendly and accommodating.

Avoid at all costs
Bedroom comforter had stains all over it; tiny room; garage entrance ridiculously narrow and high probability you will scratch your car (you will see where dozens of other cars scraped against the wall).

Good value, but not know what to expect...
The staff was very nice and helpful. The facility is tired and shows wear. Our room was also remarkably small. Notably, we could feel and hear the Red Line every time a train went by...in the subway below Mass Ave. On the plus side, the location near Harvard Square is great.
