Worked for me!
Everything was good, after they finish the upgrades even better. Front desk lady was wonderful and professional. We love that we didn’t have to pay for parking. Will definitely stay again!

The room smell dirty and sweaty. I discovered the smell was coming from bed. Apparently the sheets were not clean. Rips and stains on carpet. Room need updated and clean.

For the prices of the stay this hotel needs maintenance work done in each room the stopper in the tub kept falling down while taking a shower and the water rises to the point where you would have to put something under it to let the water out as you shower also the owner needs to update they're website and take free breakfast off of it cause that's call false advertising

The overnight staff was professional and kind. I really appreciated that. The shower got hot, but not very hot like I ike it. It also sprayed water while running and while turning off. I could see dust on the walls. The place was very quiet which made for a good night's rest. Vending only had beverages and the front desk only had chips & beverages for purchase. Options for breakfast/room service only included ordering from an off site vendor.

I had to book two rooms. My husband, myself, my mom and our five children all needed to be comfortable. My original rooms were on two different floors and the front desk clerk changed the rooms so we would be on the same floor. I didn't even have to ask for that accomodation. She also knew who I was, even though I booked at the last minute. She was very polite and gave paper with a pack of crayons to each of my children. The rooms were clean and warm. Very comfortable.

This place is a ratchet-train-wreck. The staff are rude and practically non-existent. The cleanliness level is atrocious. They simply don’t put any effort into cleaning the rooms.
Nothing works, including the staff:
-lamps are broken
-key cards don’t work
-heater/air conditioner has two settings, Hell and Antarctica
-Hot water is spotty in the showers
-Strike plates missing from doors from where they were kicked in
-Elevator sounds like a dying mongoose
-alarm clock broken
-refrigerator freezes everything
Avoid this hell-hole at all cost.

Great staff in a just ok hotel
The hotel was good enough for our trip. The staff was wonderful. The hotel was dated and didn't offer any of the amenities that the website stated. There was no breakfast, no restaurant, or no bar. Part of the reason we chose the hotel was for the amenities.

Thinking about staying here? Don’t! This place is grungy, dirty, old, in an unsafe neighborhood, and the staff, while possibly kind, are uninterested and unavailable to you. The rooms are dark, dingy, dirty (stains everywhere on carpet, etc.) and kind of gross. In the bathroom, the shower curtain does not even cover the whole tub. Miserable experience and a waste of money.

Outdated Hotel
I can tell this used to be a nicer hotel, but not anymore. Today, it is a bit run down. The outlets in the bathroom were so loose that every slight movement and the hair dryer & my curling iron comes unplugged. The fire detector is broken. A few of the lights don’t work. Broken floor tiles in the Lobby. Outdated decor. There is no Breakfast. Not too terribly bad, but definitely not great. Parking is good.

Ms.Jackie was the best. Very welcoming attitude. Offered suggestions when we arrived earlier than room ready. Assisted with parking. Only down fall was the dining area was not available for breakfast as the website displayed so we were slightly disappointed but when it came to true check in time after 3pm the front desk lady was very knowledgeable about getting us checked in quickly. Room key didnt work when we arrived but the desk girl immediately resolved the issue with an upgrade and wasted no time in getting us comfortable. Just wish the other guest that had room key issues wasn't so angry over the same issue we had.

Coffee maker left very dirty that we have to clean it ourself and no microwave anywhere in the building where we could get hot water since theres no microwave available.we are assign to a room facing the train station where its so loud we cant hardly sleep. Only good part about the place is its around downtown so we dont have to drive farther.

The first leg of the trip. I got locked out of the room and the key card machine stopped working so they had to pry open the door so I could get my stuff. They then moved me to another room. On the second leg of my trip the hot water didn’t work for two days and they had to move me again.

Rented 4 rooms, 1 the shower leaked out of the tub, another room the shower didn’t work at all. The key for another room needed to be reprogrammed two days out of the three night stay.

Hotel is older so its a bit rundown, but overall the rooms are nice, need updated but nice. Staff at front desk was very nice and polite as well as cleaning staff. Great people, just need to invest in rooms.

Yolanda at the desk was incredible!
I ordered a meal from the service available and it not only took two hours to get to me, it was the wrong food and they could not bring it to my door. They left it at the front desk. Totally unacceptable.
This hotel was probably very nice in it’s day, but it desperately needs to be updated and come in to the 21st century. Nice deep bathtubs that were very dangerous to get in and out of for a handicaped person.

Friendly staff but that’s about it.
The hotel was run down and dirty. It needs updating. Our room carpet was stained and furniture was visibly scratched/damaged. The soaker tub in the bathroom was the best thing in the room. Sheets were clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful though. Disappointed for the amount I paid to stay there.

No longer one of our favorite hotel
We’ve stayed in this hotel a few times many years ago, it seems that the property has gone down since our last visit. Carpet in our room was filthy, the shower curtain smelled of mildew, and as we were getting ready to check out, what appeared to be a roach ran across the desk. We used to love this property, the parking and location was ideal for us, whenever we came to town for a concert or play. But after this last visit, we do not have plans on returning. The one positive is that the employees were friendly and attentive.

Blood stain from someone else on my fresh sheets so I had to sleep without them on the bed. On check in, asked if I had a room for the night already in which i replied yes to, was then prompted to fill out a paper form manually with the hotel rep for a room…. Like their system was down or something or she just wasn’t listening to me. Got the keys to the room and they didn’t work which was blamed on the batteries being dead which… is fine. They gave us an entirely new room and this one let us in, however was 2 more stories higher in the building so we had to move from floor 1, to floor 2, to floor 1, to floor 2, to floor 4. Loud at night right next to a highway which makes sense so I don’t see any reason that could be improved, but still. Just an overall bad experience outside of 1 of the 2 staff members being friendly. The other staff member was non attentive to anything I was saying. Oh and we were looking for a drink later at night, however the vending machine on our floor was ‘sold out’ for each and every beverage which sucked considering the fridge in the room didn’t have any complimentary waters which i wouldn’t expect. Still another inconvenience that I wouldn’t have had an issue with elsewhere. Will not be staying at this hotel chain any longer.

I always try to book my stay at this hotel whenever I am in Chicago. The customer service, and rooms are always high quality. The on-site cafe is as added bonus, and the owners always have such delicious food, and outstanding customer service.

Family one night stay
It’s an OK hotel. Free parking got us in the door. Def could use some updating but the rooms were clean and we did not feel uncomfortable staying. We checked in and went to a baseball game, came back late slept in and were able to get a late check out. Overall, OK

Disappointing and disgusted!!
The Wyndham South Loop was the worse hotel experience I've had in all my years of traveling. This was only a 1-day stay, due to attending a concert. What made me book this hotel was the "Free Parking" and basically the reviews were ok. Upon arrival, one elevator was operating, but, had a "Not In Service" sign. Later that day, it wasn't working. The very 1st room we couldn't access due to the key cards not working. Had to go up & down to resolve that issue. Once inside, the room wasn't clean. The 2nd room we moved to had smoke, weed odors. The 3rd room was a so-called "upgrade", however, the air conditioner was so loud, we could hardly hear ourselves talk. The 4th room we moved to was a handicap-access room, which was limited in bathroom counter space for (4 people)?. The bathroom mirror looked like it was about to fall off the wall. By this time, I was ready to check back out, but, we stayed due to time constraints. As far as cleanliness, also, not acceptable. The hotel is in need of a total upgrade, repair, deep cleaning of the carpets, and upkeep of the grounds outside as well. The gate to the parking lot was chained open, which caused safety concerns, as well as the door leading out to the parking lot was broken. Again, safety concerns. The prices being charged absolutely don't reflect the hotel experience. Upon checking out, I was told the manager doesn't work on Sundays! Shouldn't there always be a manager on duty? Needless to say, I won't be returning or referring!!!

Room was a lot bigger and the TV had a lot more channels than most other hotels in this price range. The shower had plenty of water pressure and got hot. Can't argue with free parking at a hotel this close to the city either.

I like the location also that the parking was included. I did not like the small TV in the room. I did not like that there was not any access to streaming programs such as Netflix and Hulu. Also when you ask for towels, two people in the room they would only bring one washcloth. I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone when I called room service. So I went and purchased my own towels.

When I checked in late at night, there was a prostitute with her customer trying to check in before me arguing with the clerk. At the same time it looked like there were two homeless people sleeping in the lobby

No bells and whistles. Just good solid rooms.
The services and fine and friendly at check-in. Park is free, but there is no security in the parking lot. You simply put a piece of paper in your windshield to denote you are a paying customer, but anyone can drive in the lot. But the cars are fine.
Rooms were clean and that's what matters most. There is nothing much around within walking distance.
I'm a repeat customer at this hotel and if needed, will reserve here again.

Everyone at the front desk was really nice and helpful, I came here for a concert at the wintrust arena. A easy 5 minute drive or pretty quick walk. Beds were clean, bathroom was clean. You can hear the sounds of the train fairly well from your room, and our TV speakers were pretty busted. But for an inexpensive night it wasn't half bad, if I was coming into town again for a quick one night I wouldn't be against coming back again.

Easy to find and clean
Easy to check in, clean and easy to get to. Free parking is a big plus in Chicago. Gotta use the car to move around though - not as central and easy to go walk around as some other options more to the north.

The hotel is in need of updates especially given the cost of the hotel. There are no special amenities however parking was included which was nice especially as you will not be able to walk to the conference center. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. Overall, not with the expense.

This was my first time ever visit Chicago and I must say I really enjoyed myself from the time I walk through the hotel door the staff was excellent customer service outstanding honestly. Friendly very helpful very informative very warm welcoming. The room was clean nice and spacious. I will definitely be staying here again!

The hotel was well-kept and friendly. The area was conveniently located by McCormick. The area south of the hotel by ten blocks wasn't the best for safety but was close to Chinatown with nice restaurants.

Disappointing… no bar/lounge or restaurant, room keys only worked occasionally locking us out of our room 2x! They claimed low battery but did not fix it??? Upon check in despite my reservation of superior room on high floor with a view I was given basic room… had to call and was told hotel was full even though seemed pretty empty to me!?! They did give us a new room on 4th floor not overlooking a parking lot but I will definitely not be staying with them again!!!
