Asked 3 times to get the internet tv fixed - and while I didn’t go to Florida for internet tv, I was disappointed with a lack of a solution other than “oh well, sorry” - I mean, if you’re gonna charge top dollar, shouldn’t everything be top class working condition? I would expect “oh well” from the holiday inn - but I would not be paying what I paid there. The staff is great, just disappointed by the lack of a solution. Move us to another room, comp us a night - anything - to show that you do. Or

Everything was wonderful. Front desk staff were extremely professional and helpful. Pool staff were energetic and friendly. Room was super clean. So easy to walk to local restaurants and attractions.

I really enjoyed the valet parking. They parked your car and returned your car quickly with no delays. They were very nice and friendly too. The wellness room was fully stocked with exercise equipment that were top notch in quality. I enjoyed my stay!

The property itself was very nice . I didn’t like that the beach club was a shuttle away and that the dining options were limited .
In addition, the first night they gave us a room on the second floor with a “balcony” which opened up to a concrete floor, that the tv was not working and more importantly , that they aware of plumbing issues on that floor where there was constant banging on the walls all night. I wore ear plugs and still had trouble sleeping. I called very early in the morning to complain ( we checked in at 1030 pm
The night before ) and they agreed to change us to another room. We were out all day due to personal medical issues and when we came back to change our stuff out of our original room, it appeared they were annoyed and we had tv people
In the room repairing the tv.
The new room was lovely except that ( and this was no fault of the hotel) we had a child SHRIEKING at the top
Of his lungs in the hallway and his parents yelling behind him at 650 am… which continued for quite a while.
Two sleepless nights. The second would not have been that bad if we had had a comfortable the first night.
No real apology . No real concern . Very sad for a ritz at the prices we pay

I was looking for a great experience because it’s the Ritz after all. It’s a small property— small pool area and one restaurant on premise with another one offsite. We had dinner and breakfast and it was nothing special— no different than an average hotel experience. The bathtub in my room didn’t drain. Customer service was definitely 5 star. Overall it was not the special experience I was hoping for.

Fabulous, friendly service and lovely amenities. We were, however, disappointed that our request to reserve the tennis court was not entered into the booking system so we unfortunately were unable to play. The desk staff did not apologize for this error, but rather suggested that I had not booked it. I felt a little disrespected, so just thought I would mention it here.

Marriott Bonvoy sunset lovers welcome
I am a Platinum Marriott Bonvoy member, and I had concerns about not booking directly, but all eligible upgrades were honored, as well as the late check out, so I was happy with my choice.
This hotel has a fabulous beach house, so be sure to stay for the sunset!

I rated okay for eco friendliness because my goodness so many water bottles! I think in the gym just have 1 water jug with little cups instead of an endless supply of water bottles. The ability to stay all day even at checkout at the beach club is what makes it worth it. The private spot on Lido Beach with staff waiting on you as you lay on your chair underneath an umbrella- wow that is living! The locker rooms were So So nice (i dont know why but I love cool bathrooms) James was so down to earth, kind, fun, and just such a cool guy! I thought the experience was going to be like on Home Alone when Kevin checks into that hotel and the staff was so snooty but No! everyone here was so kind. I was sure I had already paid the resort fee with Expedia but upon checkout I had to pay them again- Valet parking is not optional $36 a night. The food was good- we ordered 2 fish tacos ($20) a good sized Cobb salad ($20) raspberry daquiri ($16) beer on tap ($7) plus tip - then you have to pay state taxes -all these charges added up to $170 at checkout. It is a little intimidating that im not showing up in a Bentley when valet takes over then you have other guests around - but like I said everyone is so kind and you will likely never see these people again so enjoy it and dont worry about them ( take cash to tip valet we did $5 every time) Definitely great for special occasions- Im blown away that people can afford to stay here more than 1 night. Overall - loved it!

I had requested an upgrade to Marina view which was not given instead got a room at the lowest level 4th floor facing the main entrance with a balcony to the street where cars were coming in and out the building. When I requested the Marina was told All rooms were full, but I went to the pool at 1100 Pm many rooms were dark indicating they were vacant. For 600 a night rate I believe I should have gotten a better room. I will definitely not return to this hotel.

Golf course and beach facilities are delightful. Hotel is in serious need of a makeover if it wants to keep up the reputation that it had in the past. Unsophisticated and inexperienced staff. No concierge in the evening. I was celebrating my birthday and was looking forward to a special hotel experience. Unfortunately, the hotel is not up to my standards and fell way short of my expectations. In a word… disappointing

I splurged on the club level for one night at the start of a week long vacation. Was disappointed in the atmosphere of the club level lounge where children were running around, touching food at the buffet. The club concierges were lovely but no one seemed to remind the parents if the rules. After

It was amazing! We celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. The hotel welcomed us with champagne and strawberries. The staff was very attentive and gracious. The property is lovely and the beach club is really nice. It was not crowded so we were able to sit out by the water. My only complaint is the spa did not give us a tour. This was surprising as we’ve stayed at other Ritz properties and were given tours before booking services. As a result we did not book any spa treatments despite planning to do so.

This hotel had far more families with children than I expected, which I did not like. I expected a little more of a luxury experience and found the many children definitely detracted from my experience. It would be nice if this hotel had more adult-only options.

Disappointing Ritz Carlton experience
Our room was not ready for our 3pm check in. We had to wait an hour to get into our room. This was not good. We were exhausted after 9 hours in airports due to multiple flight delays. But we were given a glass of complementary champagne and decided to go the hotel bistro to enjoy snacks while we waited for our room. Highly recommend the delicious lobster roll! It was a very busy, noisy, crowded Friday night at the hotel. So many loud, unruly children running around. We were celebrating our 37th anniversary and expected a quiet, elegant weekend. It was not to be. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the private beach resort but there was an hourly shuttle service taking many guests & families there. We decided to drive to St. Armands instead for shopping & dining. The hotel is elegant and clean, and the staff from the concierge to valet were very helpful, but we will stay elsewhere for a more exclusive and relaxing experience next time.

The staff was amazing. Gracious service and they really went above and beyond. Compared to other Ritz Carlton locations however, the Sarasota location lacked pizazz. The beach club was a nice amenity but it felt like the main hotel fell short. The front desk service was not as welcoming, room was not fully stocked with water and missing shampoo. All in all, it was a great experience, it was just lack luster compared to other locations.

The hotel room was nice - but I didn’t get my check-in confirmation text (that my room was ready) until nearly 5pm. And the next morning check-out was 11am sharp. So that proved to be a very expensive hotel room rate for very few hours of room usage.

When it was cleaned... garbage was not empties.. towels were not replaced. We left and went to the Weston.. half the price and better service.

The facilities are beautiful but the cost and the price may not be justified based on local competition. Jack Dusty has great food at rich prices. My biggest complaint was the road construction and resulting traffic which made the hotel difficult to access by car.

👍THE GOOD: Hotel golf course was great. View from room was terrific. Breakfast in room was very good with prompt delivery. Beach Club is excellent with very good, attentive staff. Easy to make dinner dining reservations at the Beach Club. Transportation every half hour to and from the hotel.
😒THE BAD: No concierge on duty. Had to talk to front desk staff that were busy checking in guests. Short on propane to fuel outside seating for dining. Some heaters could not be used in 60 degree weather. In peak months, no sun will shine on pool area (blocked by hotel building). Boutique shop on main floor closed for lunch in peak occupancy in February. Hotel under-staffed. Waitresses dress in jeans and most wearing tatooes. Sorry, not appealing the Ritz crowds. Had difficulty making reservations for dining in the main dining room.
👺THE UGLY: We had a foul odor coming from our bathroon drains. Called on the first day. Maintenance came, treated the drains, but odor continued on second day. We flushed the drains and by the third day the odor was just slightly noticeable. We left on the 4th day. All room doors close loudly at all hours of the night. They are good, heavy doors buu hard to close quietly. Sleep interrupted.

There was a lot of road construction around the hotel so it was noisy and difficult to get around. If I had known that, I would have stayed elsewhere. It was too urban for me. The hotel property is getting a little dated and in need of improvement. The pool didn’t seem to get much sun since it is located on the north side of the hotel tower. Maybe this was due to the winter sun being lower, not sure. Was hoping for a larger fitness center. For the cost, I expected better, but the service was good.

Overall we enjoyed staying at the hotel and the use of the beach club. The re were two things that were really not what I would except from a Ritz Carlton. The first issue was that we could hear some noise of repairs happening in another room in the evening and early morning. I would expect that any repairs would take place in the hours when guests are most like to be away from their rooms. The second issue we had was with the service and food we received at breakfast our first morning there. We had breakfast at Jack Dusty and it was quit underwhelming. I ordered the a biscuit, sausage and gravy dish with egg. What I was served was a bit shocking; a large slab of a biscuit the size of the plate with a mixture of sausage and gravy draped over the biscuit, topped with the scrambled egg i ordered. This dish as presented should never be served at a restaurant, let alone at a Ritz Carlton. In addition to the less then appetizing food, the service was also subpar. The waiter failed to bring me the orange juice I ordered or the Tabasco sauce I requested. Once he was reminded, he brought the items but no acknowledgment of his initial oversight. Not a good start to a vacation morning. When you stay at a Ritz Carlton with the rates you charge, good food and service should not be an aspiration but an expectation!

Liked the transportation to Armand’s Circle and Beach Club. Beach Club was nice. Food was good at Jack Dusty. Beautiful hotel.
Sheets were dirty upon arrival. Greeting upon arrival was nothing special. Room was not ready upon arrival. Could not accommodate a room upgrade.
Upon checking out, we noticed that people who were arriving were offered a complimentary glass of champagne, we were not. Also, offered a room upgrade even though they had not requested it. We asked in advance for a room upgrade and did not receive one although we were satisfied with our room.
We received a phone call from front desk saying they had received phone calls that our music was too loud. It was no louder than the tv on normal volume. Not sure what that was about.

We loved how the staff remembered our name. The staff pays attention to what youre saying and look for clues about wants and needs. Then before you can even ask for something the staff has brought you what you need. Just incredible!

I was quiet disappointed with my vacation experience at the Ritz. The hotel itself is beautiful and staff was friendly for the most part some gave dirty looks and were not pleasant if you didn’t tip them for them just saying hi. Also, If your a beach lover I highly do not recommend the Ritz. The beach club does not open until 10am or at least the shuttle from hotel does not start until 10am which I was not aware when I booked so when I went to lobby early and was told the shuttle is not running but you can rent a car and go to the public beach really upset me.
If you want to kayak or paddle board just forget it! If it’s cloudy they won’t allow it, I went down several times to attempt but was told it’s cloudy (my whole trip it was cloudy). And if you expect to get your money back or some taken off for paying for those activities just don’t get hopes up. They were nice at desk and apologized and offered to take off some of the fees but never did, and they keep avoiding the situation now.
And lastly the room was okay nothing grand. Marina view is no view, do the pool view you’ll have a better Marina view. The fridge in room was so cheap it barely worked so don’t expect to use it.
Overall, I spent so much money and looked forward to this vacation for awhile after working like crazy during covid at the hospital I work at to just be let down by the experience and for the money I paid. It’s not worth it, unless you have money to throw away and your rolling in cash.

The food at Jack Dusty restaurant on site was delicious!!! Enjoyed my stay. The only issue I had was the walls seem thin. I could hear the person next to our room. I also heard construction or maintenance going on in the morning which interrupted my sleep. Other than that, enjoyed my stay.

We got to the hotel at around 6pm . We were told that our room was not ready yet and still needed to wait about 30 minutes . When I asked if the check in time was 4pm , they said yes but they didn’t have the room for us . This is unbelievable! The hotel in general was ok . The tennis court was dirty ,needed some maintenance. This is not a beach front hotel . The beach club is 10 minutes driving distance , the shuttle run every hour . We would not stay here again
