The room was in need of repair or condemning. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling as well as space between the shower walls and ceiling showing wires in the shower. Holes half patched in the wall and ceiling as well as peeling paint.

If you want best value in the area.This is a basic hotel and safest for the price.If you're a Karen not for you.
The other hotels for this price are located in blanford area of Petersburg you won't be happy in Petersburg.

I would try somewhere else
Room was dated bed was old, not comfortable and dipped in the middle. Bathroom was clean and had hot water. Just stayed one night while driving through. I wouldn’t stay again didn’t feel like the safest place to be.

Convenient location to interstate as well as convenience stores and restaurants. Most of all the staff. Very helpful. Wish I had all their names to personally thank them here, but want the hotel management know what a great friendly, helpful Front desk staff they have. Out of other places stayed at. Will be coming back to stay. Travel for work and times have to stay from one week up to a month in the area. Thank you Roadway. You all have my vote

Clean Safe place to stay. Busy at times. Have stayed before and accomodations were great. Rates are great for the traveling working population. Front desk staff are fantastic and helpful. Even remember who you are, which is nice as well as welcoming. Will stay again when passing through the area for work.

I wouldn’t stay here if you are a person who has a job and needs to be up the next morning. Noisy atmosphere, just a typical road side motel. The bed was comfortable and it’s what was needed for a just a few hours. Basic room, condition was so so. And I noticed a roach in the corner of the ceiling when I was getting ready in the morning, which prompted me to shake out my little belongings I had.

I like the location. I didn't like that roaches from the room got in my bags and my food. I didn't realize it until driving to work and roaches from room was in my car on the dashboard and windshield and coming out my shoes. I missed work because of this.

I made a reservation, requested second floor rear. That's what I got. We were happy with that, was quiet other guests were friendly as hello type stuff. Was a nice two days. Will go back to there again. Thanks for our stay. Well Worth our cost far as I'm concerned.

Being one of the only available hotels I had no choice but to stay here for a night and it was terrible. The room was dirty and there was a hole in the ceiling about the shower, dirty sheets, along with cockroaches.

i like the friendliness of staff but the room was so dirty! i was on the road for awhile so i needed a room to rest. when i got to the room all i seen is roaches everywhere (dead and alive) i was going to ask to switch rooms but was scared i was going to get one that was worse!

Very old property, an old wash rag was left in the shower so I know it wasn't properly cleaned. Top cover was also soiled with a stain. They also had a full-size refrigerator in the room. A real turnoff unless your living there.

I left earlier because I suffered bed bugs and roach bites over 2/3 of my body. My service cat got bite by something, probably a spider. His entire mouth and chin is swollen. It's difficult for him to eat. I can't sleep because of the itching from the bites.

This property was very smoky the minute we went into the office to check in . I asked for 2 queen beds and non smoking rooms due to the fact my mom has lung issues . We went to the room and clearly the room smelled like cigarettes and cigarettes burns in bed . Absolutely disgusting. Went back to office and requested my money back . Pit bulls were off leash walking around , dirty mattresses were all over the parking lot , and garbage, looked really unsafe and sketchy!! Would not recommend to anyone ! Should not be in expedia for recommendations!!!!!

too disgusting, vandalized rooms, dirty with west inside, broken curtains, moldy bathroom, people smoking marijuana everywhere. We drove tired and we paid for the hotel before 12 to arrive at 2:00 am and be able to rest and it turns out that we had to leave, we prefer to sleep in the car.

I didn't like anything about the property acceptable was big with the pull-out sofa I didn't like the fact that it was dirty I didn't have a shower curtain and also couldn't get the TV to work and the curtain for the window was hanging off so people could see in so I had to go to the store and buy something to put it up with

This was hands down the worst travel experience I have ever had. Not only was the room deplorable, but the people in the next room were outside all night smoking marijuana, cursing, talking loudly, and threatened me when I looked out of the window at 1:30 to see why there was so much noise. There were unsafe electrical conditions and so unsafe from a physical perspective, that I was afraid to leave my room. Eventually, the police ended up on property. An absolute waste of mo ey. These people should not be allowed to operate any business.

Staff was friendly but they gave my room to someone else and the replacement they gave had lewd graffiti on the door and walls. There were multiple roaches seen crawling in the bathroom and sleeping area. The sheets had noticable stains as well. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for the comfort inn around the corner.

Hotel was sketchy looking when I pulled up. I went inside to check in and one of the clerks and a guest(?) were messing around with a huge knife. When I went into my room, the bedding on one bed was dirty and stained. The refrigerator had something in it and smelled like something died. I went to check the bathroom which was dirty, had mold on the wall, and a couple of roaches running across the floor. I walked right back out. I stayed there for 5 minutes. Thankfully the comfort inn had one room left so I didn't need to continue to drive tired. I don't know how anyone could stomach actually spending a night there.

Nasty, uncaring place only fit for the cockroaches
This was a horrible stay... We left at 2am after not sleeping because the room became infested with cockroaches and the front desk refused to do anything. The stated, "no refunds once you stay more than 30 minutes". Just an awful way to spend what was going to be a quick get away. Instead, we drove home (about 2 hours) in the middle of the night.

Very disappointed!
Roaches crawling on the sink and trash can! Floors were never cleaned. Refrigerator wasnt clean. Light didnt work. Very uncomfortable bed and wasnt on a frame. Two box springs and a matress. Outside noise and creaking floors from room above didnt help with sleeping either. I will never ever stay here again!

The first thing we noticed was that the TV didn't work we called the front they said that there would be somebody there to fix it we waited around for a couple hours and then finally made a call back to be told that the person left already and he come in the morning and I said please let me call and let you know when I'm up which I did they had all day to come fix that TV and no one came in and fixed my TV two nights without TV I know that's not the most awful thing for some people but when we get away which we don't get to do much we'd like to have a TV cockroaches galore I wouldn't suggest this one you can look through my other reviews and see that I usually give good reviews to other two star or one star places because sometimes I think people are critical of them this one was bad

Zero maintenance at this property. Switched rooms but still no tv, wall outlets didn’t have power, shower wouldn’t turn all the way off, mold on the walls, bedspreads badly stained. And so much more. I would have kept driving if I wasn’t so exhausted. Bed was fairly comfortable though.

Not a place for sleep if that’s your plan. The tenants and environment are very noisy all night long. The hotel itself is very old and in disrepair. It’s not well-maintained. All I wanted was a clean shower, a night’s sleep, and perhaps a cup of coffee for the road. I got none of those at this location.

Worst of the worst,
I could not even take a shower
The bathroom is infested by cockroaches
Requested a non smoking room and smelled like rotten eggs.
I arrived at 12 midnight
Had to sleep and take the room for a few hours but this has been one of my worst experiences in my life.
Drug dealers and sketchy activity around.
BE SAFE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

No one was at reception upon our arrival for over a half hour. Janitor could not reach the clerk by cell phone. He showed up with other staff with him having purchased 4 cases of water. Reserved non smoking room was smoky, the next room offered by housekeeping was just as bad, third room was barely tolerable. Included breakfast was not, that space was converted to a video room full of permanent residents of the motel whose appearance gave me an unsafe feeling. Many of these permanent residents loitering around. Dumpster was overflowing and had been for a while. 3-4 feet of garbage bags were on the ground with flies and signs of other vermin. Nothing else in the area was available at that hour or we would have left. People were walking by our window all night long. Terrible experience!!

Walls and glass surfaces were dirty, there was no sound barrier to the outside, the only outlets that worked were the ones in use by the room appliances.
Someone doing maintenance(?) came by the room past 7:30 to scrape the front of the door for 2 minutes?

About what you expect for low pricing
Sketchy beyond sketchy. Killed one spider in the room, saw two cockroaches. No weather striping around the door so bugs, sound and rain came right in.
Mostly clean bed and bathroom (minus spidwrweb in shower), but everything else... should have stayed at hotel down the street.
Glad I was traveling alone, I would not feel safe or comfortable bringing family here.

The overall appearance was run down and trashy. Broken down vehicles in the parking lot. While the improvements to the room were evident, flooring, shower and cabinets, the room was still beat up. The room door had a big enough gap at the bottom that I put a towel in the gap and a large boot print on it. The privacy curtains had holes in them. The front desk staff were friendly and checking in was easy.

This propety was unkempt, and what appeared to be abandon vehicles in the parking lot. The room requested was non smoking, but smell of cigarette smoke. The walls by the AC unit appeared to have mold. It seem that this property was being used as a transitional housing. Pictures did matched what was on their website.

The property is ducked off behind the woods , they have parking lot parties ( I’ve never seen that before ) there are roaches in the room as well as Beatles and stink bug , tv does not work , no phone in the room , ac does not work … so I need to say more . Front desk excuse for everything is that they just ordered the stuff to fix the room etc and it will be shipped to them by the morning . How convenient because we won’t be here that long lol just don’t go !

The first room smelled like smoke. The knob on the bathroom shower was broken. It was filthy. The second room was equally filthy. We ended up leaving, losing the fee we paid, and going to another hotel. It’s a filthy filthy place!

One of the rooms as soon as you walked in you get hit with a smoke smell. People must be living there and have no respect for anyone sleep. They were yelling across parking lot to each other. There was burn marks on the night stand

Front desk receptionist was pleasant, easy check in process. First room had a sealing leak so they immediately changed my room. Everything's a little out dated but it was clean. I would stay here again

If you like roaches, this is the stay for you!
Honest to God, this was the worst stay in my Hotels.com history. Not even close.
We got to see the full international parade of roaches, German, Oriental and American roaches all had happy little homes in our rooms.
Do NOT stay here. Unless you like roaches, in which case, I highly recommend the variety and quantity of roaches available.

If you cherish the sounds of trains, you will be delighted as they roar nearby all night long. There is no coffee nor breakfast. The rooms need updating. There is an atmosphere of unsafety. Many homeless are in the area and some on the property.

This was the most deplorable hotel I've ever been to!! Roaches, filthiness....just all around unsafe!The door wouldn't even lock from the inside.Someone could just turn knob and come right in.Could'nt even stay the night.Me and my children left and asked for a refund...never again!!!

Nothing redeeming about this place. It’s one step up from “Motel Hell”! All the bathroom baseboard was filthy & caulking was black with mold. There were what looked like blood spots on carpet by bed & blood smears (I hope they were only blood) on the bathroom wall. Nasty!

Literally disgusting roaches everywhere dirty nasty, had the displeasure of staying here one night while traveling home from florida NEVER AGAIN… ppl live there the rooms are nasty! the best part pf my experience was the girl who checked us in she was nice and honest about the conditions didnt mention the roaches it took me a long time to get settled, i slept with one eye open all the lights on and got the hell out of there! NEVER WOULD STAY AGAIN LITERALLY HORRIBLE.

Cockroaches, dirty linen, disgusting catwalk, occupants walking around with rifles, asking for drugs, blasting music outside their room while smoking weed, room smelt of cigarettes. Don't stay here, this place should never even be listed on this site, absolutely the worst place you will ever stay at.

Don't go there.
We did not enter our room. The window in the room next to us was boarded over with plywood and there were unsavory characters standing in the open doorway, in front in the parking lot and wandering about. The place is terribly rundown and trashy. We did get a refund, but had to find another place to stay.

The king size bed was broke / uneven. The TV didn't work. The main power to my room was out. My food in the refrigerator went bad, then I was not able to take a shower Pryor to going to work. I was in town on a business trip.

Outside was trashed and dilapidated. Clerk at desk informed that TV did not work. Bathroom was not clean and rags hanging from the shower curtain. Room smelled. No towels. Horrible hotel. Trash all over outside and building peeling. Wire conduit on outside of rooms. It was only for one night and did not stay there. Could not trust my tools being safe in my truck.

We did not stay because of the conditions of this property. We had booked a room with two queen beds. After check-in we drove around the back of the building to get to our room; it looked as if homeless people were living either in the rooms on the property since the carts typical of this population were beside the doors of the rooms on the back side of the motel. We were uncomfortable with this but continued to the room. We were not able to get into room because key card did not work; went back to check in and were given a second set of key cards which did not work. While waiting for my son to return with the key cards I observed patrons who where drunk and stoned. Called the desk and told them the second cards did not open the door; she said she could give us another room; we asked if it had 2 queen beds and was advised they had no rooms with queen beds; only doubles. I asked for my money back and we left. When we turned in our keys, she threw a credit at me. When I looked at it, the amount credited was not the amount charged. Called and was told she didn't care what my reservation showed, that was not what was paid and she wasn't giving more. The credit is still not posted on my credit card. This place was slime and nothing like the pictures-no one should pay to stay in conditions such as this.

disgusting hotel, beware
We had booked one night, just to stay near I95 on a trip back from the Carolinas. The Econolodge was dirty looking and smelled, even from the parking lot. The clerk was nice when I checked in, but there was an old guy in the lobby who seemed drunk banging on the atm machine. When I got back in the car to find a spot in the lot closet in my room, the old guy started walking along side my car asking what room I was in. We drove around to the back parking lot to get away from him. The people hanging around the back parking lot were even worse than the old man. We drove back around front and the old drunk was going into another room. We opened the door and our room. It had a horrible stale cigarette smell, even though I booked a non smoking room. The room was gross, with pealing paint. Even though I had already paid for the room, we drove a quarter mile down the road. There is a really nice Quality Inn, but it was booked up. The desk clerk told me to try the Candlewood Suites two buildings away. I walked in and told the desk clerk about how horrible the Econolodge was. She had one room left at Candlewood, and she gave me a good rate, She noted she always tells people to stay away from that Econolodge. I strongly recommend staying away from the Econolodge and booking the Quality Inn or Candlewood Suites

Do not go to or stay at this hotel!!!!!! It’s trash everywhere!!!! The room was , not dirty but filthy!!!
There were people that look like they were living there!!!! And this was daytime, 3pm. They should be ashamed to have a national brand name on it. I refused the room and still have not received a refund from Hotels.com!!!! They want me to get the manager name! I AM NOT GOING BACK THERE!!!!!

The property appeared to be a residential for drug sellers and drug users. Not child friendly. The phone and the smoke detector were missing from my unit. Some units had warrants on the door.
