Disappointing
Original room had ozone "smoke eater" machine running and was not habitable. Second room was just not well maintained. Bathroom had mold growth. Floors throughout dirty and obviously had not been washed in sometime.

The staff were all helpful and professional. Even an off duty employee answered a question and helped a colleague while assisting me. The rooms are cleaned as best as housekeeping can during their staff shortage. The score is not indicative of their work, rather the place itself could use updating. The common areas and elevator; however, could use some attention. Overall, a pleasant stay and no complaints.

Clean and quiet. Great stay for the price Grateful for the amenities in the room. Checkout is too early at all of these hotels, however! I didn't check in until 5pm and had to leave for 11am. That is robbery! I was exhausted from not enough rest .

The outside lighting is truly lacking. Way too dark. Upon entry to front desk, you see the pool area which is nicely decorated and sparkling clean. The double bed rooms are nice, no cramping all furniture together. You have 3 pillows along with beautiful duvet cover. The mattress is old metal, but comfortable nonetheless. Did not hear any noises from the street or freeway. I would stay here again.

We didn't have any negative experiences at this hotel but it we found it to be average at best. All they had in the lobby area for mornings was coffee. We were told if we wanted room service over four days we would have to request it specifically. The elevator carpet was always needing to be vacuumed, never happened. On our next trip to Gainesville we will probably stay somewhere different than this. Also, we had to borrow a toilet plunger at one pont from the front desk.

Stay December 15th
We only stayed one night, however the room appeared clean the corners were dirty. The bathroom had water damage issues. The toilet was very low. We reserved a room with a king bed and got a room with two full beds. The staff were there but not very excited being there ( could just have been a bad day, we all have them)

This was the worst hotel I ever stay in my life. I had to look at 4 rooms and still wasn’t good but I had no where else reserved and had no choice. It smell of animal and dirty I end up having breathing problem from the pet allergy which I wasn’t told was pet friendly. Mold smell in the room was so bad. I came home sick.

You get what you pay for.....
Check in was no problem. Room was on the 4th floor. When trying to leave this morning, elevator was not working. I suffer from sciatica and my husband recently had brain surgery having to carry our bags down 4 flights was painful and extremely inconvenient. I needed a receipt for our stay to turn in to the VA for reimbursement. Gentleman at the front desk was unable to print one out. I will not be returning

Good Hotel for a short stay in Gainesville - Good price as they are in same area as Holiday Inn and other chains that charge a min of 30% more- 15 min or less drive to heart of UF depending on the time of day. Everything very basic, but clean .

Disgusting smell
Disgusting smell in Lobby, hallways, and elevator. Elevator in particular was trashed. Room was fine. Employees were fine. But this place needs a DEEP clean.

Good For What It Is
Basic no-frills stay. Things were clean and updated, although (living) bugs were noticed inside the room twice. Was disappointed that the in room coffee was decaf. When my husband went to grab some caffeinated coffee downstairs, he asked if there was any that wasn't decaf and the employee told him "it's all regular coffee" and served him decaf after he attempted to verify exactly what it was. A small detail, but we've never been to a hotel that only will offer decaf coffee.

It's about what you'd expect. It's old and run down. The room has the bare essentials. The water pressure was as poor as the lighting. For a game weekend it's fine and probably one of the less expensive options.

The staff not helpful. Needed a pass code to turn on the tv… and it didn’t work, and the staff couldn’t or would not help. Also, one of us left a phone in the room, when I called to check if it had been found they said it hadn’t. It was showing to be on that property. The guy at the front desk was not of any help. I would not stay there again…

Only made it two steps into first room they tried to give us. Reeked of mold and cigarettes. Desk clerk didn't even bat an eye when we asked for another room. Second room was musty, but manageable. Ceiling was peeling, wall corners were cracked, dresser drawers were bubbled, floor laminate was loose. If it wasn't after midnight, we wouldn't have stayed. Never again, though.

This was the worst redroof I have ever stayed at,nonexistent staff, I had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to show up he never gave any directions to the room or elevator that smells of urine. The floor was very sticky with footprint and thebathtub was dirty

The Hotel in general was dirty.
The room was very dirty, the bathroom was in poor condition, the shower curtain was broken, the walls were stained, there was lots of hair on the floor, and the room smelled of cigarettes.

Paid for upgraded bedding, snacks and room amenities etc. Received different room other than what I paid for. No updated bedding and no snacks. Bathroom wall was covered in mold/mildew. Floors and walls excessively dirty. AC was low on Freon and was making that surging, loping sound all night as it tried to keep up. Walls needed repainting 10 years ago. Floors and carpet filthy. Shower area was like being in a cave because 2 of the lightbulbs over head were burned out. The people that run this place do not care and could also care less about customer service and or complaints. Dozens of excuses on everything rather than an apology or resolution. Manager stated that it was Expedia's fault. Elevator looks and smells.like something out of a 3rd world war zone. Elevator also smells like urine. This place is a filthy dump, save your money and go elsewhere.

My daughters attend university of Florida and I have stayed at the red roof inn plus probably a dozen times at this point I’d rather my money go to getting things for my daughters so I try to think about affordability when I stay at a hotel in Gainesville typically the rooms have been very clean but this time was definitely an exception the room smelled of mold and smoke, and there was definitely dirty spots in the bathroom, ceiling shelves, the floor, and so on again my priority is not the hotel as I drive up here to help my daughters however, I was disappointed with the condition of the room that I had this stay. The staff and front desk was friendly like usual and they are always very accommodating. I will be back at this hotel again, but will definitely check my room prior.

The room was dusty , mold on shower ceiling . The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, there was wrappers of paper I get the bed The floors were dirty and sticky in the room and in front of the elevator. My husband told housekeeper and she giggled and kept walking .

Upon entering the rooms at this hotel, I was disappointed to find that they were in very average condition. The cleanliness of the floors left much to be desired; they appeared as if they had not been cleaned in a long time.
To my surprise, there was no shampoo or conditioner provided in the room. This basic amenity is expected in any hotel.
Instead of having the convenience of purchasing water from the front desk or room service, I had to make my way to the 4th floor where a vending machine was located. This felt like an unnecessary inconvenience and an indication of inadequate service.
Adding to the unsettling experience, there were numerous people in the hotel who appeared to be homeless, and they were blasting music in the corridors. This created a noisy and disruptive environment that contributed to my discomfort during the stay. It also raised concerns about security and safety, as it seemed like the hotel was not adequately managing its guests and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.
The overall lack of cleanliness, missing amenities, inconvenient water situation, and the presence of disruptive individuals made me feel uneasy and unsafe.

The property was fairly close to our destination. The is shopping and the usual chain restuarsnt in the area. There was nothing unique about the property. We think someone peed in the elevator, which someone tried to mask with spray. This location will be marked off the list. But, the desk staff was very kind and attentive to our needs. This hotel was booked based on a Hotel.com review score of a 7.6. The pictures looked decent online and unlike any other Red Roof Inn I've usually seen so I decided to book it for my nieces as they were in Gainesville for a SB tournament. They checked in late because games ran late and were exhausted so they didnt really pay attention to much other than it didnt look like the pics. Upon further inspection the next morning, they saw how absolutely filthy thr place was. The bathroom was gross. The tub and shower were filthy. There was mold and cracked foundation where the tub meets the wall. There was what appeared to be blood on the drapes. And the dresser drawer was cracked and nasty. It smelled moldy and mildewy. I called to complain and they were only willing to give back a refund of $33.75. That is absurd. We will definitely NEVER stay there again and I highly encourage for others not to stay either.

Its time for a refresher ...
My family have stayed here on previous visits but seemingly the hotel is losing it luster. The rooms need a deep cleaning and sterilization. They smell moldy and stale.
