I like the room, it was very nicely cleaned and spacious. The beds were comfortable and beddings were nicely arranged. Overall, I was impressed with my room. The downside was the halls and lobby were dingy and showed sign of wear n' tear. What was a turn off was the homeless people hanging around the lobby and within the premises of the hotel, in fact there were tents set up just across the street and in the morning, they were coming to the hotel probably to eat and wash up. This was a turn off for me.

I booked this hotel for my son and upon arrival he stated he couldn’t pay for the deposit with a prepaid card. I arrived and held the deposit with my Chase card. He checked out a few days ago and I was expecting my deposit to be returned to my card. However, the transaction cleared so I called the front desk and the lady stated that they released the deposit on the check out date and to call my bank. I called my bank and lo and behold the claims department stated no the funds have been released to someone just not back to your account. Very Sketchy and Shady ! I’m still filing my claim so I will get to the bottom of this.

Reserve este cuarto para mi prima que se quedó sin lugar donde estar la noche de año nuevo con una bebe y dormiría en la calle, el personal de el hotel no le permitió hacer check in por no tener tarjeta para pagar el depósito aun cuando yo ofrecí a pagar con mi tarjeta por teléfono o ella pagaría el depósito Cash ( el cuarto si lo pague por la aplicación) y aun no me regresan el dinero, eso sin contar que mi prima no habla inglés y el personal se porto racista

The property said i did not have a reservation. And because i only had an itinerary # not a confirmation. I drove 6 hrs, to a hotel i didn't have a room. Amd have to pay another 175 out of pocket. When i already paid $93 through expedia.

We had a great experience at the Red Roof. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the towels and linens were great! Loved it and appreciated the welcome! We will stay here again..

Horrible service
I couldn't check in at the hotel because the representative wasn't feeling well, I think he was under the effect of some medication and he couldn't catch me, so I had to leave without being able to use the room.

Worse experience EVER!!!!
I had not provided information yet because I just did not want to talk about it. The service was bad. The front desk rarely had an attendant. They never had clean towels ready. We always had to wait at least 2 hrs, which made us late for the event we were in town for. I will never stay here again I should have requested a full refund, but I am sure this would have made a bad situatuon worse. At the end of the stay we asked for an additional hour for check out. We were told it would be an additional fee, and not a small one either. After the bad service and run down property you would think that they would have been willing to accommodate our request. We ended up leaving and staying another night with family. Worse experience EVER!!!!

The area around this hotel isn’t great. There were many people hanging around outside. The room was ok but there were dirty towels left behind in the room from the previous guest when we checked in.

Good for the price
We stayed at the Red Roof Plus to visit our son. The room was very nice, comfortable bed and nice hot water in the shower. We would stay here again. When you first drive up to the property, there are signs of homeless people but we did not have any issues with our car.

I booked my stay at this hotel and ended up leaving before my check out date due to waking up to bed bug bits all over my body. I told the front desk of this issue and they did not want to refund me my full stay as I was unsatisfied! Im still currently trying to receive my money back. Do not trust this place with your money. They are as sketchy as the neighborhood its located in.

Upon entry to the room it was noted someone had already been in there. There was clothing on the restroom floor and a used feminine napkin product in the trash can. Additonally, the floor was not clean and there were bugs in the bathtub. We checked out immediately and discussed the issue with Manager which understandingly refunded the charge.

The room was clean and the beds were fine. The staff at the desk were incredibly non-customer oriented - charged the wrong amount (more than I was quoted on Expedia) and shrugged their shoulders about it plus said they couldn't take my credit card because it wasn't from Chase or Wells Fargo (and finally took it when I insisted it would work)! The road looked like an alley with huge potholes in it - was kinda scary to drive! It worked for the one night I needed a place to sleep but will not be on my list for another stay.

Reasonable price, room 2x queens excellent mattress and soft nice pillows. Very nice hard wood floors, no crap itchy carpets. Nice country style wash tub, clean looks new bath and shower. No odd fragrance as per other budget motels. Friendly staff. Thanks!!

I was never told that certain visa cards were not accepted even though i used the same visa to pay for the hotel room but upon checking in i was told i couldn't use it for the deposit due to it not being from a "major bank" and then told that a major card over the phone wouldn't be accepted nor cash. I was informed there was no other option and no manager available until 9am this next morning. I requested a refund and was told to call expedia. I had to have a friend drive here 6 hours later to use his card for the deposit. I will continue to inform others about the service i recieved and the "premium upgrade" was nothing special. Terrible service.

Beyond run down. Everything in our room was disgusting, dirt everywhere, our fridge did not get cold, they used electrical tape on own remote which still did not work. Asked for a new one they said they didn’t have any. The halls reak of an awful smell. The elevator inspection is expired. One of the workers told us we shouldn’t take the stairs before they had a leak and the stairs are all wet and we could fall. We asked for a different room since ours was so disgusting, they couldn’t accommodate. Also tried to say if we check in 5 mins early we would be charged $30.30! I asked for a refund at the front desk and they stated they couldn’t do anything about it.

Great stay
We've stayed here before with an excellent experience so we choose it once again. We had a superior king room. Room was clean and spacious, although floors were kinda of sticky. Bed was a bit firm but comfortable and had blackout curtains for better sleep. Room had all the amenities needed for much less than other places. Wi-Fi was super fast. We were a bit worried about the reviews talking about all the homeless surrounding the area but we had no issues whatsoever and felt very safe. Homeless people are not surrounding the hotel, they're in a vacant lot next to it. Area is quiet and safe. A lot of food options nearby. Overall a great stay for the price and we'll continue to stay here when needed.

Only issue was at check in. Not sure if they were short staffed, but there was only one person at the desk, and a line of 18 people waiting. It took an hr to get my room. Other than that it was great.

Find a new place to stay
They charge a fee to check in before 3:00. When 3:00 arrived there was a very long line to check in and only 1 person checking us. I pre-paid for 3 nights but the clerk told me they would kick us out if they saw my husband there due to him forgetting his ID. Itnwas stressfull. The next day my key did not work so I had to get it fixed. There was no problem with that. The concert I attended had to reschedule due to covid but the hotel refused to refund the one night. I will find a new place to stay the next time I am in Phoenix.

Check in was slow. They charge extra to check in before 3. Then was 30 min later due to only one person checking anyone in. Boyfriend forgot his ID and they threatened to kick us out if they saw him going up to the room. Key didnt work the 2nd day so had to get it reset.

Air conditioning did not work in the first room finally switched us to a different room no maid service we at least put our trash cans in the hallway outside our room and no one emptied the trash out for over 3 days finally the trash cans were emptied and we went through the same situation for the rest of the week stay

Everything necessary for the stay. Comfortable and close to freeway. AC worked well, floors were dirty. Ice machine on each floor but 2/4 floors the machines were empty. Check in efficient and helpful. Check out was not so much.

Worst experience with a hotel. Booked using hotels.com and was informed the check in time started at 3pm and ended at 12am. However that was not true. The hotel cut off for chdck in was 6pm. They cancled my reservation leaving me no room.

It said that there was a crib available for this hotel and when I asked the man acted like he didn’t know what a crib was. No crib. We asked for a cart for our luggage, he said he didn’t know where they were but he’d look. He didn’t look. When we got into the room, we found old food and beer in the fridge. There were also weird splats on the wall. It didn’t look too safe outside. There were people sleeping in their cars in the parking lot. All in all, it was eh.

Stay was good, but, at check-in I authorized the room rate which is what it said it was going to charge then when I looked at my account there's an additional charge for $19.53 that I Did Not Authorize and neither Expedia or Red Roof claim to have taken that amount so the only way I can get it back it seems would be to close my card and get another one, really ticks me off because who got that $$???? Check your employees!!

Horrible staff extremely rude tried to charge more when i got there wanted a 75 dollar a day deposit each day and still waiting for the refund rudest lady at the front desk ive ever dealt with .literally the worst customer service experience from the large front office kady with braces ive ever dealt with in my kife a shady reciept stating i paid in cash then canceled and refunded looks like a walgreens reciept with numbers everywhere just so they could steal money from my credit card ...beware do not stay here ...you will regret it

Worth it if you’re in a bind.
This is the email I sent to the hotel management.
So I completed my stay at the red roof inn west phoenix . I will admit the the stay was not greatest considering the other options in the are. Overall I would give this stay a solid 6. The property was generally clean and presentable and presumably safe. The quality of linen and customer service could be improved. The linen felt as though it had been washed too many times.
My issues with customer service are the following :
1. Upon checking in, I was informed of the security deposit but was not given the details as to how and when it would be returned.
2. We had a issue with the toilet in our room . I had to call down to the front desk 4-5 times before being told to “ come get the plunger”.
3. When I got the plunger it was in a target bag, I wasn’t handed any gloves or asked if I knew what I was doing.
There was also no follow up with me concerning the toilet.
4. The elevator doesn’t function properly. The doors open and close 3-4 times before finally completely closing. I have a video if necessary because the front staff seemed uninterested.
Generally speaking the staff, all possibly very professional, seemed disinterested in helping any other quest checking in the past weekend.
I honestly would not recommend this hotel to other people because it seems like a great lave that just opened so all the pieces aren’t there.
The front desk service is definitely a turn off.

At the time of my check in I was told my card was declined when I booked the room through Travelocity. Front desk assistant was not very helpful explaining why. I had to step aside and re-book the room again using a different card. Which the card I used originally used was good. The beds are soo hard, the lobby and aisles to the rooms are filthy. Never want to stay in a Red Roof again!

Room needs a new bed, lumpy mattress and flat pillows but I think I say this every time. Phone doesn't work, maintenance came in and tried a new phone, still didn't work.
