We loved our stay - beautiful area, beautiful hotel and room, great service. Only reason to not give it a full five stars is that our room heating furnace needed fixing when we first arrived (resolved easily within 20 mins), and the entertainment/phone system in the room stopped working a couple of hours before we checked out (movie TV system stopped working, phone had constant busy signal).
They kindly gave us a discount on checkout due to these inconveniences. So I'd still love the opportunity to come back again.

Not a five star experience in my opinion. The carpet in our room had about 20 stains. Room did not feel clean. The bathroom marble is all brown. We asked for another room but they had no availability. We were celebrating my child's birthday, asked for something special in the room and nothing was setup. It took about 40 mins to get our vehicle from valet upon checkout. Overall experience was very poor for the price and quality that should be received at a 5-star establishment. Would not visit again. Langham Chicago is far superior!

Hands down one of the best customer service. There was construction during our stay, the roundabout was closed. Guests wait outside Bernard restaurant for their ride. It was raining and windy.

I couldn’t give this anything less than 5 stars. Absolutely amazing experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and smelled amazing, and the shower and deep soaking tub made our relaxation getaway successful. The balcony topped off the night. I will stay at this hotel every time I come to Chicago.

Their attitude is bad.My flight was delayed for 17 hrs, so I arrived the hotel late on the second. They cancelled my room and refused to refund the money. We were focused to book another hotel immediately and they didn’t notify us that they won’t refund at all! I argued for one hour, but they only refund us for one day. I don’t understand why I have to experience this in a hotel as fancy as this

Spectacular!
We usually stay at The Four Seasons and thought we’d give the Waldorf a try. Stayed 5 nights and had spa treatments, breakfast, dinner, drinks, and everything was perfect! We’ll be back.

No coffee maker in the room. I called the front desk to see if there was free coffee and they connected me with the in room dining which then charged me $45 for a coffee. I told them I understood it was a free service and they said they would follow up. When I checked out the front desk indicated there was no charge so I assumed they had removed it but I found the $45 charge later and called customer service and had a very rude and frustrating interaction. The whole experience left a bad taste on what had otherwise been a nice hotel and I am disappointed that I won’t be going back considering the way I was treated.

My sheets were ripped and very worn. The bed uncomfortable and thermostat was locked so I couldn't turn down the heat. Lamps on bedside tables were very difficult to turn off completely, only dimmed. I prefer a dark room for sleeping!

Overall ok. Not so happy in the sense of no complimentary coffee in the room nor water bottles. Valet parking bit extreme. I have stayed in other locations doesn’t compare. My linens had stains.

Chicago Marathon Stay
This is my 4th stay at the hotel. I was in town to support a friend who was running the Chicago Marathon. I always love staying here. I like the location, the amenities and the way the staff treats hotel guests. The next time I come to Chicago I will stay here again.

Really top quality. The restaurant serves a lovely brunch that is delicious. Went for 1 night - stayed for 2. Check it out! Its great for a girls weekend- and alone trip or spending time with someone special

The location of the hotel is very nice, walkable to pretty much everywhere you want to be, a nice stroll of 15 minutes gets you to River Walk, 5 minutes walk and you find yourself on the Magnificent Mile or the Hancock tower. That being said, the hotel itself could deliver a better experience for a luxury hotel it claims to be. It lacks normal lobby, has a restaurant that closes at a quite early hour and yet the room service was not available the day we arrived because "a lot of people called off"... Also there was a distinct unpleasant smell in the room that we brought up with the hotel, and no one followed up on the issue. The front desk lady never informed us at the check in, that the hotel provides complimentary transportation service to its guests for trips within 1 mile radius of the hotel, which pretty much was everywhere we went throughout our stay and often times got a cab or an uber to do so.
The restaurant of the hotel "The Brasserie" is very nice, they serve delicious breakfast and have live music on the weekends which was a very nice touch. Overall the hotel is clean and quite well maintained, however it does not have the sense of luxury that Waldorf is supposed to give. I would probably not select it next time I'm in Chicago.

Beautiful hotel all around and nice facilities. Staff was friendly and helpful. At check in, it was discovered that they oversold our room type, so we were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was a great turn of events. The bar and breakfast had great service and food/drink options. Even on new years eve, we found seats at the bar before our dinner reservation.
While it's obviously a hotel for folks who have money to spend, $80 to valet a car for the night seems a bit excessive as do some of the spa packages.

This is by far the best hotel in Chicago. We have stayed here so many times and absolutely love it every time we come. The service is awesome. The rooms as so beautiful, spacious, and clean. The area cannot be beat. Best neighborhood in Chicago walking distance to so many amazing restaurants and shops. Cannot wait to be back.

Unique and Beautfully decorated. Impressive property tucked away in the heart of downtown Chicago. Rooms are spacious and well designed. Loved the bathroon, expecially the walk in shower. Property was well maintained, fully staffed and clean.

Our room was very nice but the heater made a horrible sound that kept us up every night. I made a request to repair with the front desk but nothing was ever done. Room service is lacking. Limited choices and each time we ordered they forgot something or an item on the menu was out.

definitely a comfortable room, nice hotel, and the service is amazing, but the cost doesn't really match the room in my opinion. it's more about location. you're close to everything in gold coast. parking is extra and also expensive. be also aware that it's dog-friendly here which is good if you want to bring your dog(s) but some dogs got pretty loud. you can sometimes hear them in your room.

The location was great . Easy for shopping and parking . Restaurant was very good . Food was good and waitress was exceptional ( I think her name was Kelli ) we had her both nights . Gym was not great , tried to make my wife wear mask while running 5 miles on treadmill .

We had a great time, but our room (suite) had a pretty shabby couch, the in room dining options are pretty limited and not well executed, everything took a long time (1hr for a pot of coffee), baggage (2hrs), etc. For this tier of hotel (we were paying almost $900/night for our room), I would have expected much more.

Love this hotel!
Enjoyed my stay with my girlfriend as part of our 1yr anniversary celebration. The start was friendly and the rooms and overall overall hotel was very clean. I would recommend this hotel and will be staying here again considering the convenience of the location being downtown.

It's a 3 stars hotel disguised as 5 star. Aside from not having a lobby, nothing worked, fireplace not working, sauna not working, air condition had problem, the room was fine but not luxurious at all, exposed tv cables etc. I'm highly disappointed specially since I paid $1000 /night for my room

This is a beautiful hotel and it’s a great location! I’ve stayed here many times. Staff however is unresponsive and not very helpful. Every single time I call valet or the front desk no one answers. This happens every visit and it’s extremely frustrating. Need to call multiple times. Also, I’ve always asked for early check in and have never once been accommodated.

Despite being a five star hotel, we had moderate experience. Our neighbors were noisy, service was slow and in-room amenities were worn. However, when we were able to get to sleep, bed was comfortable. Still enjoyed our stay but would have expected more given the cost.
