Horrible wouldn't recommend
The door woulsnt shut without slamming it. There was a mouse in our room. The bed had a crease at the bottom of the mattress. Pillow cases were dirty.

I have stayed here a bunch and never had a problem until recently. It used to be the cleanest place you could get for the money, but the last 2 times I have stayed this week in 2 different rooms, I have found roaches. I don't do bugs. I won't be coming back.

Cockroach hotel.
We have stayed here many times and this was the unfortunately a bad experience. We went to our room and noticed a lot of cockroaches in the bathroom. We asked to trade rooms and was disappointed that that room was also infested.

Budget hotel
Right price, right location. VERY small room, one of us had to sit on bed and lean back for other to pass in room. Poorly repaired damage to one wall. Hot water, decent shower. Overall pretty clean, no complaints there. 4-night stay, only saw housekeeping once. When we requested they come back later in the morning...we never saw them again. No clean towels, or any type of cleaning for entire stay.

When we checked in it was fine but the girl at the front really didn't know anything about Louisville. I think a front desk clerk should know her city so she can answer questions about it. There were roaches in the room, on the bed, on the table and floor. The sink and toilet were clogged. Really the only thing good about the room was the shower.

There was a dead mouse in my room. When I tried to get another room the other room smelled like a chain smoker was smoking in it even though it was a smoke free room. And after coming back from the trip I now have a rash potentially from bed bugs. Also there were people there that were on some serious drugs hanging around the balconies. If you could just pay some more money and go somewhere else I recommend it because it wasn't worth it for me.

I wish there was a ‘they meant well’ option. The staff was extremely friendly- they even offered a ride to the festival we were attending… but the ride fell through. We did see one ‘bug’ and a guy came to spray right away…but he didn’t knock, used his key and opened the door on us is bed…but luckily we were clothed. The lobby coffee was excellent…when the machine was working. Overall, not a terrible place just a little overpriced for what you get.

When arriving notice a lot of people just hanging around the parking lot that look like drug dealers and people standing around by their rooms that look to be women of the night I was worried about going out after dark due to the conditions. Meaning would be afraid for me and my daughter not to be approached by the people that looked like they stayed there long term, soliciting drugs, or sex was glad to leave early in the morning. The room was dirty didn’t want to even take a shower because of the filth check the mattresses was worried of bedbugs, which thank God there were none would have left but our room was not refundable and I couldn’t afford another room somewhere else we were there to spend the night to be able to make an appointment with my daughters liver transplant doctor. I was very disappointed with our stay

Never ever again
I was expecting to have a hold on my card for a deposit per the website but it was not mentioned at check in. My son also had a room he arrived 30 min later and a different person checked him in and persisted in a cash deposit when I told them I had a room with no deposit he did not make my son pay a deposit. Someone came running in the office saying a woman was in the parking lot claiming a man in another room attempted to rape her and he's walking thru the parking lot the police showed up. There was a woman going through the dumpster in the parking lot, people fighting in the parking lot at 2:30a.m. and and someone tried getting in our room in the middle of the night and people hanging out in the breezeways. I did not find live bugs but I found dead roaches behind the t.v and at check out I was not offered a receipt and the two customers in front of me had to ask for one.

Red Roof Nightmare
It was very hot the day we checked in. The air conditioning could not cool the room down. The bed had what felt like 2" foam over bed springs you could feel underneath. The front desk said they could not change to another room as they were all booked for the night. My suspicion was that because we booked through Hotels.com, the hotel got less money for the room and didn't care much for us.

Lots of locals live there and prostitution. Strong urine smell and cleaning staff was smoking in walkways. Rooms are comfy but pillows are just too flat. Never Again

Stayed 6 days for a basketball tournament, there were used needles in the outside trashcans junkies fighting in the parking lot. Sits between 2 abandoned hotels homeless beggars on both corners of the street. Airplanes landing throughout the night. The last 2 days the cable didn’t work. I was with my teen daughter who couldn’t walk to the car without being cat called by the numerous construction workers sitting in there trucks through the day. Bathroom had someone else’s hair all over the tub and old water bottles along the back side of the beds.

The room was clean & looked nice overall. There definitely needs to be some maintenance, mainly outer & lot area. The mattress was quite uncomfortable, especially on one side so I had to switch sides (thankfully I was alone on this trip or it would have been miserable for one of us). Checking in was a lot of work. I asked if there was a main level room available, she said there might be if I waited for a few hours. I told her I didn't mind waiting for a few hours, but not just for a maybe. I had to ask several questions to finally give her the idea to check in with housekeeping to see if the room she had in mind might be cleaned today. I'm hoping there is more to the story on their side because most clerks would have just made it happen. I would have even been OK with there is nothing available, but not waiting for a few hours with a maybe. She was lovely, but not sure that was the right job for her or if she was having a bad day.

We checked in a little early but the room was not vacuumed and we did not have towels. When we went to bed, it looked like the sheets were not clean. We assumed housekeeping would take care of it the next day, but they never came by. We were out, so there was no reason housekeeping should have missed cleaning our room. They finally came by on the third day but they still did not vacuum the room or adequately clean shower and toilet. Would not recommend. It’s a cheap motel and that’s all it has going for it.

Passing through. Wanted a place off the expressway. This Red Roof Inn was decent. It was clean. Even had a small fridge and microwave. I requested a 1st floor and they accommodated.

I asked for a room on the first floor because I’m in a wheelchair they didn’t have any clean on the first floor. The room had roaches crawling in and out of the air conditioner vents. Asked for a refund and was told to call the customer service because they couldn’t do anything

Checking in/out is slow because they rather finish playing candy crush before they get to the window (actual lobby was never unlocked). Its adequate for a quick overnight stay if you leave before 11am (they will barge in at 10:55am to start cleaning). It isn't very clean, but not the worst. Nothing except Waffle House was open at 11pm in the area for food. Not pet safe, even though they are "pet friendly". The pictures of green grass is a stock picture. The actual pet space was tucked at the end of the building, near the freeway and dumpster. Its overgrowth, not lit at night and the useable space was the size of 3 large pee pads. I was afraid of poison ivy from the far right side when I used my phone as a flashlight to make sure there weren't any syringes in the overgrowth. There's a hole in back fence that leads towards the freeway. I will not be going back.

Got to our room and the door was wide open with paint work being done inside. There was a lit cigarette burning on the outside window. The room stunk of paint and smoke. Asked for a new room but all they offered was to “make it okay” and sprayed room spray.. while we were gone with our stuff in the room. The latch on the door was wobbley and didn’t sleep at all due to loud music.

Meets basic needs of place to lay your head
I was in Louisville for a volleyball tournament and looking for a place to stay solo. Therefore I was looking for a place thats reasonably priced just to stay the nights. This hotel served that purpose. If you're looking for a fancy hotel with amenities, this is not the hotel for you. My only complaint is that the room smelled like cigarette smoke. Otherwise my stay was fine.

When I arrived the place seemed ok at first glance. Check in was ok although the clerk seemed quite phased our. When I got to my room… oh boy! Room was not cleaned at all. Used towels placed to look as if they were cleaned, sink, mirror, faucet covered with toothpaste spots. Floors were disgusting. I had to buy a mop and clean them myself. Carpets are so gross. Beds were old, shady cover and I had to use my own blankets and pillow cause ut was too gross. There were pubic hair on the floor, the night table. And the area.. pimps and drug dealers in the hotel. People smoking weed in rooms. Cockroaches in the bedrooms. Fridge not working. If other hotels were not full I would have ran off. Do not go there!

Horrible experience. Owners are so rude and disrespectful. I would not let my anyone stay here. Staff was so rude. Tried to charge us more when we had a reservation. Refused to honor the reservation and price we already paid. Rooms are smelly l, sheets stained, hair on floor, no pillows no towels. Whole place is gross. I will NEVER stay at a red roof property again ANYWHERE .

The room was clean . But when we looked at the print out on the Expedia website it said there was a mini fridge and a microwave in the room which there was not. Also website showed there was breakfast bar which was not had to walk across the parking lot to a restaurant for breakfast. The lobby entrance was locked had to use a security window!!!

It was meh.. needs an update . After 9ish they lock the front door and you have to go to another side door with a window . That room smelled like vomit . I’ve should have known not to stay . Room was meh . Outdated . Dusty rusty bathroom . Itchy sheets . Have to pay extra for a room with microwave and refrigerator . Pay more and go somewhere else .

I found a rat inside the room. It ate my food. When tried to check-out and get a refund for that day, they refused to refund me. There are suspecious movements all over the night. You can sleep due to that movement and noise. Overall, I strongly recommend not going to that place.

Terrible Experience!
Terrible. I booked a superior king room and once I arrived I was told there were only double beds available. Once I got to my room I discovered the heat does not work on the coldest day of the year! I tried going to the desk but it was unattended for almost an hour til I gave up! Worst experience ever!!!

Wasn’t the cleanest, beds were awful and they had no room keys. You had to be escorted to the room and let in by stuff due to no keys. It was cheap and ok for a passing through, one night stay.

Skip This Hotel!
The pictures on the site lie. The beds are hard and cheat. You can feel the springs. They didn’t have enough towels or pillows.The air wouldn’t stay on. There was no comforter on the bed just two sheets and a throw blanket. We had to change rooms because the first was smoke filled! Service was terrible. We asked for things and never got a response. Beware of this place! It should be your last resort!!!

Room was clean. Bathtub was stained and looked dirty. The beds slept like rocks. Pillows flat. Front service attendant was..well he did his job and checked us in correctly. If you was hoping for hospitality you need to pay extra for that and at another hotel. If you was looking for quite neighbors that's not case at this place. At least not the night we stayed. Not the hotels fault. Just people being well.. people. If you was wanted an early wake up call that is punctual it can be provided. Please be advised it might be a truck from your rowdy neighbors driving into the room next to you. That will wake you up for sure. Again not the hotels fault just people making people mistakes. After our wake up call. We got the point, got dressed, packed up and checked out. Never again. This place isn't for me. If your cup tea is budget friendly, low hospitality, stained bathroom, late night drunks that are a we bit rowdy and drive through wake up calls, this red roof inn has everything for you.

0ne of the worst places I have ever stayed and I have stayed at some bad places. Area is BAD! I mean BAD! Hotel was disgusting, staff was rude and I couldn’t leave my hotel after dark for my safety. I requested no housekeeping as my dog was in the room. They ignored my request and let my $4000 dog outside loose. Never once called to let me know what happened or apologized. Luckily I had a family member go by and seen my dog running loose in the parking lot. Water/pop machine had nothing in them. Homeless were living in the elevator. It WAS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!!

Rooms are nasty and unclean, too much for the quality of the hotel, should be no more then $40. Covers had holes and stains, shower was nasty in the tub, the curtain also had holes also room overall was not clean at all.

A place where you have to ask for towels !!
This place smells of smoke . And the rooms aren’t very clean . You have to ask for towels none was left . Never cleaned my room once was informed that they don’t clean when you stay longer I don’t understand that I was their for 3 nights I thought at the least one day would be clean it’s a shame you have to ask for towels if they aren’t I’m going to clean the rooms while you’re there at least I can have fresh towels to clean myself without asking for them

Took over 30 mins to come to the window lady looked sketchy. Told me I had to pay $50 deposit I said ok gave her my card said no I need cash I said don’t have it. She said do you have 30? I said no cash on me. Only place in world makes you use cash in 2022

Anyone who travels knows pretty much what they are getting with the RRI. That being said, this location was not only difficult to access but once there the staff was completely indifferent. The main lobby was closed. I can understand this in the late evening but it was still closed the next morning come checkout. No refrigerator and the sheet/blankets had cigarette burns in them. This was an exceptionally bad RRI.

Zero standards here for quality, cleanliness, comfort, or safety and security of guests. Ran by local junkies that live there, with a zero F’s given policy for their guests. Room was filthy, found a hypodermic needle outside our room. Discovered we had a ROACH infestation in our room and the front desk basically said they could move us or we could leave, after traveling for a major event and no other options we were forced to stay in these conditions w money up front as well. We completely disinfected everything and sprayed for roaches! I will never stay at any Red Roof again! Shut this place down!

Stood at desk for thirty minutes waiting for the clerk. Called business line repeatedly and got no answer. Third floor room, no air conditioning, bathroom wasn't clean, long black hairs all over toilet. Lots of people loitering about. Checked in at almost 2am and left at 5 am.

When we checked in the room wasn't ready, gave us a key card then said come back in 1/2 hour. Room still wasn't ready. Asked for two double beds ended up with a king. Tub didn't drain. Needed someone to come in and fix. Had to go to the deck to get clean towels. Didn't replenish cause we were staying multiple nights! Wasn't a good experience

The place was horrible, and it isnt family friendly at all. It isn't safe actually drugs and prostitution is what it is used for. I think it would be the best interest of Hotels.com to take this particular Hotel off your site

This property was in a bad part of town. I witnessed what had to be a prostitute checking into a room for that night. It reeked of pot as well. Do not stay here if you have kids. It gave me a bed for the night before driving home the next day but I would not stay here again.

Terrible.
Called three days before asking how old I had to be to rent a room. They told me 18. I get there and she said “you’re not 21 you cannot rent a room here so you leave tmr” and then after we have a deposit we went to checkout the next morning and they lost my paper I signed AND my deposit. I sat in there for 25 minutes trying to get my deposit before I finally said “you wouldn’t give me a room without a cash deposit and it’s not my fault you switched workers and cannot find it. Give me my money so I can leave” And the first room they gave us was dirty and didn’t even have a deadbolt on it. Room 335. So I went down there and told them and she scrolled on my phone to other pictures saying that I’m showing her the wrong pictures and she doesn’t know what I want her to do. It was a terrible experience and I will NEVER stay here again.

Drug addicts everywhere, smoke crack pipes and being loud until 4 am, next door crackhead came to my door at 530 and tried to break in my room. Front desk attendant was just as high on drugs he would write me room number down on my key card envelope and couldn’t barely say the numbers. Check in took 30 minutes: 2 meth heads were begging the front desk to exchange quarters for dollars as the vending machines food would take to long to get putting in so many quarters. The room smelled horribly of cigarettes and prostitution
