My stay at the Red Roof Inn was good. The evening and morning staff were very nice, and friendly. I brought my dog, and they were very welcoming of him. This is a good hotel for the price. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but it's newly renovated, clean, and fairly quiet. My only complaint is I could smell marijuana through the vents, and it is supposed to be a "no smoking" facility. Other than that, the stay was good!

The floors were disgusting, I don’t think they are ever mopped. Not once did our room get cleaned or offered fresh/clean towels. The only housekeeping staff we saw was when we checked in and they were loudly bad mouthing another member of the staff. Not very professional. Nasty air filter in the AC, it smelled like old cigarettes all the time. Didn’t feel safe around the hotel, a lot of homeless-looking people hanging around smoking and checking out your belongings when you take them in and out of the car, loud obnoxious music…I could go on and on

Newly remodeled however I saw multiple bugs during my stay. The computer chair was heavily stained, and it was odd that you only had two towels when 4 guest would be on the reservation. I went to the front desk to ask for more towels and they said that they have a problem with people stealing them so that is why I only had 2. The man who checked me in was extremely friendly and the location is great, you can tell they are striving for better just a work in progress.

Unfortunately this was the cheapest hotel for my stay . Arrived and found roaches in my refrigerator. I would of complained but I was certain the staff running the establishment wouldn’t care since they tried to charge me $490 when I booked it for $260. After showing them my receipt they said “oh my apologies we thought you were someone else” Also it’s good I bought my own towels since they failed to bring me new ones daily. So do yourself a favor and stay in your car as you will be better off.

Not this Red Roof Inn
Very sub par for a Red Roof Inn. Low lighting outside (even the Red Roof Inn sign was burned out), inadequate disabled parking space, more run down than other Red Roof Inns we have stayed at. Neighborhood was sketchy. Didn’t feel comfortable. Not good for travelers along the road, which is what we use RRI for. This experience was unusual for a RRI, which are usually nice, clean, and consistent.

Never coming back…
I’ve been waiting for the hotel I stayed at to to contact me back about the issues I had but never heard anything back. I feel ignored and that’s how I felt on my stay and during check out. The lady who was up front was too busy fussing about how she’s the only one who ever does any work and she just gave me nasty looks. I had people come up to my door and try to get into my room which was super scary. There was stains in the bathroom tub which wasn’t the biggest issue, but you can tell the employees do not care about the people who stay with them.

Night front desk guy needs some etiquette
The overall stay was ok. They could have had better housekeeping.
In both of my the rooms that I stayed in look like no
body every cleaned behind the bathroom d oors. Then that staff who worked the front desk on my stay was a Caucasian older man who thought be was running things. When my daughter and her family checked in
This guy had the nerve to say to them no vamping, cigarette smoking and no Marijuana smoking in the rooms right in front of my 10 year old grandchild as if they came there to do drugs. BTW, my daughter and I are African-Americans . My daughter and I tried asking for the owner but front desk staff seem not to know to much English. Whats crazy is, I checked in my room a hour or so before
My daughter did and he didnt give me the speach about the rules. Luke I said it was ok but it could have been better.

The property smelled bad and was very loud and dirty. I had four people in my room but staff would only give two towels. The night manager is terrible. He is rude and unprofessional. Never staying here again

Would never stay at the Red Roof AGAIN
My family and I drove from Long Island NY to Suffolk VA visiting family. We arrived on a 5 am rainy morning. Even though 3 pm was check-in I was willing to pay early emission until I was rudely greeted. I explain that I had two reservations for Miller. The man at the desk stated and I quote ( check is not until 3 as he pointed to the sign, I explain that I would like to check my reservation, and I offer to give him my confession number and my last name Miller. The man told me if the confirmation number did not start with a current number he didn't want to see it. I explain that I had paid for my room through Hotel.com and asked for him to check again. My daughter also had a reservation and he rudely dismissed her during check behind me. Not one time did he ask me for my ID, while my daughter was on the phone trying to get things straight I explain to the man again that my room is paid for for the forth time. After spelling my last name out the man looked at me and stated that I do have two rooms. He never apologized for being rude, he continued to be rude and unprofessional. I left until 3 pm check-in time. When I arrived back another gentleman was at the front desk. I explain that I had a reservation, and he ask for my ID and completed my check-in with a smile. When I arrived in my room it smelled like mildew, the bed sheets and towels did not look clean. I had to go to Walmart to get towels and sheets. Food was in the refrigerator and food in the freezer. I check out early.

We got to our non- smoking room and it had been smoked in… we got a new room very quickly no argument ask for xtra pillows and very prompt… staff was very friendly

REMODEL MISSED MARK
I have stayed here twice within a month. Pre booked for the price and advertising of remodeling. Well it totally missed mark. The remodel was only done on certain parts of rooms. New headboard, and tv, but old worn out slippery tub (Safety Hazard). Lobby smells of pot, room smelled like mold. There is no air flow. Bathtubs on both visits did not drain due to amount of hair and gunk in drains. No security as front and back doors open not locked or shut 24/7. Common areas dirty and smelly (mold&pot). Just a very disappointing experience that could be better if owners took more pride in the property. Will not be back as I'll pay a little more for others that i know can deliver a better experience.

The room was attractive and up-to-date. However, the odor that filled the room was stifling! It was a smell I didn't recognize. Made us concerned as to what odor they were trying to conceal. The floor had no carpet and felt oily on our bare feet and left them (the bottom of our feet) dirty. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well, however.

Fragrant Friendly Experience
My stay at Red Roof Inn was very pleasant, peaceful and fragrant. The staff welcimed me as celebrity, the lobby, front check-in area and hall were with a very pleasant fragrance. My room was ready on time, very clean, fragrant and welcoming.

Got to the property and the desk guy said that my card was declined. The card on file was not mine. Let him see the info on the phone for the booking and was still met with resistance and sooo much rudeness. Then said that however I booked has then locked up his system. Was then turned away unless I paid again. I decided to try anyway and then he questioned who was staying in the room and I was lying to his face saying that I was staying and not the other person in my party. He was very unpleasant and disrespectful to me. I decided to not spend my money with him. He quickly got up and crumpled up my info sheet as to say he didn't want my business anyway. DO NOT RECOMMEND

The beds were comfortable. When I booked the room online, it showed that there was free breakfast and laundry facilities. There were NO breakfast and laundry facilities at this hotel. When the front desk was let known about what it said online, they chuckled and said sorry. No compensation!

Unless you like mold, dirty sheets and pillows I would stay away. No smoke hotel but smells like smoke. Dark walk ways. Very bad experience. No refund even if you chose not to stay don’t waste your time or money.

they no longer have complimentary breakfast even tho its offered on the website when you book the room, also the room part was very nice, we did have some bugs in the room but they were all either dead or dying so it wasn't a big deal for me and my kiddos. The bathroom was not good the vent in the ceiling did not work and was taken apart (no grate over it) and the sink looked like it had not been cleaned before we checked in there was something shoved down the sinks drain thingy. Also there was mold over the shower on the ceiling. All in all I was okay with the room because I only needed it for the one night but I wouldn't stay there for longer then that. For the price it was a good room to use for the night and the 2 people that were at the front desk were very nice and helpful and made my checking in/out process very easy :)

Let’s see, where do I begin, there was the huge roach on the wall as we entered the room when we first got there, then there was the black mold in both bathrooms on the ceiling (we had reserved two rooms for our daughter’s wedding), then the unsightly moisture damage from the heating and cooling unit, there was the mold growing on the shower walls and let’s not forget ( my favorite) the body hair that was never cleaned out from the previous guest, and the fact that no one has responded to me as of yet for us being charged twice for the rooms at the cooperate office. Not that we would have eaten anything they served because of the roaches, the continental breakfast was no longer in effect because of Covid! Highly dissatisfied to say the least!

Fine for what I needed which was a bed and bathroom. Comforter has burned holes all over it that looked like cigarette burns. Front lobby window was all smashed in which made me a little uneasy. If I was traveling with my family would definitely pick a different place.

The hotel was pleasant. My room was very clean n well stocked. The parking lot was clean n great view of river (very calming). McDonald's was rite next store as well as walgreens n across from convention center. Biggest disappointment was states free breakfast but they've had NO breakfast for over two years not even juice n toast. Room does have coffee maker (w/coffee), microwave, fridge, n large screen tv so more then many rooms now adays. The front desk has glass portion that was shattered n had me concerned when i went to check in but my 3day hoilday stay was very nice.

The condition of the room I stayed in at Super 8 .
The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The headboard was falling down. The air conditioner was not working well. The light fixtures in the bathroom were rusted. There was not a place to plug in anything on both sides of the bed. I would not choose to stay there again without improvements.

I feel really bad writing this because the staff seemed really nice but the room was not clean at all. Like there was a tampon wrapper literally right beside the toilet, microwave and mini fridge looked like it’s never been cleaned. It looked like things were just restocked and that’s it. It was so unclean that I could stay there for my second night. I’m only writing this in hopes that it can improve the hotel and not ruin the reputation. I typically enjoy my stays at Super 8

There were so many things wrong with this hotel. I went through the rooms before I even found one that was decent. There was a whole in the floor in room 307 and I was told to be careful when I got to that side of the room. Ionly weigh 117lbs and I sank down into the floor scared to death. I complained and switched to room 309 and this room had holes in the wall, unfinished painting on the wall where five other holes were patched, mold in the bathroom floor corners, and stains on the top blankets. Once again I complained and I was moved to room 305 where it was a bit better the bathroom was DISGUSTING, and the blankets on the bed had several stains and holes with the mattress cover just dirty brown in several spots. The smell in all the rooms that I saw was unbearable. It was the worst! I am disappointed in Hotels.com for having such a terrible location on their site. Hotels.com did nothing to back me except call the location and hear everything I stated was fact from the front desk clerk/ owner. This hotel should be condemned and properly brought to code.

The beds and sheets in our room were disgusting. Bedbugs, stains, possible mold. There was a hole in the floor, just covered by carpet, right in front of the air conditioner. Almost fell through, because nobody told us it was there. Refused to give a refund, so do not waste your money. Even a crackhead wouldn't stay here.

The guy at check in didn't give me directions to the room,nor did he give me a wifi password,and we had to call him twice before he would come fix the tv.The second lock on the door to the room wasn't there,so that made me feel unsafe.The toilet was trying to be level,by putting a folded up brown paper towel under the toilet..The air/heater was missing a turn down the temp button,no coffee in the lobby..Couldn't make it in my room because the water reservoir had no top,so it was dirty..Patched holes on the wall,no paint,and a big hole still in the wall,no patch..The elevator smelled of either gun oil,or grease of some kind,not pleasent. Overall,I will never stay here again,I'll be visiting my daughter often,but I will never give these people my business again..Very unsatisfied...

The bathroom was in need of repair. The ceiling had a hole in it and the light fixture was rusty. The bath clothes were very thin and worn. I had to use a hand towel as a bath cloth. Other than those things everything else was good. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Absolutely no concern for safety in the bathrooms. I asked for a room that was accessible abd was told they did not have any. The room i was given had NO grab bars anywhere in the bathrooms. The beds were super high and hard to get on. The room was not propey cleaned. There was dust everywhere. It looks like the property has new carpets a d bedding. I had to check out early because I couldnt take it anymore.

Ok in a pinch
Parking was easy, it’s an affordable place (our usual hotel had increased by too much), and the AC was amazing. It’s definitely got decades of smells imbedded in the walls (to me, it was like old cigarettes and pickles) and we saw evidence of a prior bed bug problem on sheet stains. My biggest peeve was them coming around at 9am on Sunday to do housekeeping, knocking and yelling multiple times. Could it not have waited for after their 11 o’clock checkout time? Overall, the place was ok in a pinch, but definitely not one I’d choose again if there was another option.

There wasn't much that I liked about this property. Entry and exit to the property is awkward due to traffic design. Where usually Super 8 properties allow pets, they are not allowed at this particular location. Due to "technical difficulties" by the provider, no Internet was available. Food service was also unavailable, mainly due to COVID-19 precautions.
The property had a slight odor throughout the halls, and a storage closet door next to my room was hanging off its hinges. No smoking was allowed in the rooms, but there was cigarette smoke odor lingering on my floor. It rained during my stay, and I heard--then saw--water leaking from the ceiling. The bathroom faucet was broken, as the water would only pour in a slight dribble. Water pressure in the shower was great, though. Only one bulb worked in the bathroom, leaving it dimly lit. In the middle of the night, I received a strange phone call to my room from a person talking incoherently. After hanging up, the phone rang again--I didn't answer--then two more times following that, before the calls stopped. Upon checkout there was no attendant available to take my key and give me an invoice. So, I left my key and walked out.
Overall, I would not recommend staying at this property. The blatant neglect in maintenance and lack of service and ammenities warrants bypassing this property for more suitable accommodations.

stay away from murder motel
this hotel was a complete dumpster fire. first off our room smelled of mildew and mold. low and behold there was a massive leak from the ac unit and when alerted the front desk sent “yogi” and “steve” to fix the ac unit. Steve was wearing no shoes and instead of giving us a new room they legit tried to drown us in ac water and that was night 1. night 2 there was a substantial down pour and the windows had a leak. then at from 1:30-2:30 the front desk would call our room every 10 minutes but never say what they wanted. i finally called the front desk on my phone and they told me just to take the phone off the hook. when i went to check out i wanted to address the issues i had and there was no one there. also no breakfast or no wifi when it was advertised in the stay. stay away from murder motel. there is a harbor they can dump your body into.

Ok I show up with my children and there is a man in handcuffs being dragged out the door.
Get to the second floor and the doors are OFF the entry of the rooms and leaning in the hallway against the walls. Several doors.
I get us into the room and there is mold on the caulking of the tub. Dirty hand prints all over the walls. Blue stuff...on the shower liner. No idea what that is.
The bedding was stained with...something.
The office chair for the desk was covered in whote smear marks and i cannot even begin to say what i think that was. The counters for the tv and dressers were covered in finger prints.
Positive note?
The guy sent to help clean was nice and he and i cleaned the room together.
Shouldnt have to pay over 120$ for that. For the love of god.

It was the longest check-in I have ever experienced especially since I had made the reservation on line. The television would not connect and I went to the desk for help. Gentleman came and indicated he would be back to fix but never showed up. Shower was slippery and mole on the shower curtain. Hair dryer didn't work so had to towel dry my hair. Very disappointing

Horrible Motel
This motel is nasty, bedroom dirty, fridge and freezer dirty, shower dirty, bed had burn holes from cigarettes on it. Rust in bathroom. Window was open when I went in, there was a wasp that I had to kill. Great place if you want to get high, smell that all over the inside of the motel.

This place is absolutely disgusting. The ice machine has mold and it looks old. Any reviews on this that states it is a good hotel is not true and prob from people who don't care. We called the front desk as our sheets were disgusting with food, dirt, hair and they told us to come down to get more and leave the dirty ones on the floor. We weren't happy. The room smelled and the cover around our lock was broken and hanging. We seriously thought of sleeping in the car. There was a random dreadlock on the floor doors broken and hallway over smelled by carpet powder to mask the smell. It took your breath away in a bad way. The front desk check in they were nice however not helpful with our concerns. We will never go to any hotel owned by this chain it was absolutely disgusting.

We stayed for 1 night. It’s nothing special. But if you need a place to lay your head down and a place for hygiene this will do. The facility is very outdated. Even though we were assigned a non smoking room you can definitely smell cigarette stench in the air. AC worked fine. The blanket topper was in rough shape. But I expected that and so I brought my own linen to lay on but overall it wasn’t bad for the the 1 night use I needed it for.

We liked that the room was spacious, the staff was friendly and the walls were fairly sound proofed. We didn’t like that the web site and accompanying info packet promised grab and go breakfast items and yet there was nothing offered, not even coffee. The linoleum floor was sticky, the toilet rarely flushed the bathroom door was coming off it’s hinges and the smell of cigarettes was prevalent in our non-smoking room.

The hotel is not a newer property and doesn't claim to be. The area is not the best, but they goes for the Hilton across the street also. The bed was super comfy, air super cold, and good water pressure and temperature. Would recommend the hotel if you're only there to sleep and use your room to refresh yourself.

The Check-In counter stinks with such foul smell its hard to bear. Staff is easy to work with but smell seems a mixture of smoke and something else bad. Even the corridor a level up (that's smoke free) stinks. Facility advertises included breakfast but doesn't have any citing Covid restrictions

Pillow cases were dirty, entire building stunk from incense smell, no vending machines would not stay here again

Horrible
Expensive. Room smell bad. Bed uncomfortable. Tv did not work. Other guests fighting and yielling in the middle of the night through the hallway. No breakfast...I mean not even coffee. Super 8 hotels are normally bad but this one is running for the worst one award

There was only one chair for two people and there wasn’t anywhere to put hanging clothes. Also, I had reserved a handicap room and when I arrived I was placed in a regular room upstairs. Since an elevator was in the building I didn’t complain but it wasn’t what I was expecting or reserved.

The property just feels old and run down. The lighting is bad so the hallways and elevator seem dingy. Took forever to get warm (not hot) water and then it didn’t stay warm long. When I got to my room the door was unlatched and there was music playing in the room. Turns out the maintenance guy was still working in the room. Much better stay at the Holiday Inn Express up the road for $10 more a night.
