The Ritz-Carlton on Dove Mountain is one if my favorite hotels. It's located close to the Saguaro National Park so if you're a luxury loving hiker this is the place to stay! The hotel is surrounded by hiking and biking trails. Service is outstanding and you feel very special there 🙂

Very nice and relaxing. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Disappointing in the bathroom. Tub was very deep and difficult to get in and out of it. Not recommend for older guests not wanting to shower. The hand held shower head in our room was not operating.

Be aware, there is a stupid $69 per day resort activity package fee added to your stay at the end. This is a ripoff to its customers. The resort is mediocre at best for a Ritz Carlton . The views are what make it. I would say not worth the money with the resort activity package fee they add.

The food was okay but nothing to write home about. The biggest disappointment was the bed. It was hard as a rock and the pillows were deflated. Uncomfortable enough we ended up checking out around 3 to 4 am to just go home. Was really disappointed considering price and the expectations. Will not be going back.

We had an amazing weekend anniversary stay at the Ritz Carlton! Everyone gave world class service from the front desk crew, joe at the mixology class, cleaning ladies, ranger Brian at the wildlife station and the bell hop/valet staff. We loved all the complimentary anniversary amenities! Highly recommend getting reservations at the core kitchen and trying out the sushi at ignite! Even though it was super cold out, hanging in the heated pool/hot tub was our favorite activity at night. Only slight observance was that the pool attendant could have helped us set up our seat while our hands were full. We can’t wait to visit again in the future !

Family and dog friendly
Lovely stay-cation with my daughter. The property is beautiful, the service superb. My daughter loved the water slide and the pools. The hotel is also dog friendly, so our little chap was very welcome almost everywhere, and he was spoiled with ice water in dog bowls, beds, and treats!

The Hotel pool area on Father's Day was overbooked and could not find seating in the adult pool area (there was a staff party scheduled and the lower pool was off limits to paying costumers). Also, the following day many young kids in the adult pool area so relaxing and enjoying the time at the adult pool was impossible. Very disappointing that the resort did not address this simple issue as the kids pool area was underused.

Pro's:
1) Lovely desert scene surrounding property. Lots of Saguaro's and desert botanicals. Gorgeous canyon.
2) Consistently cheerful staff.
3) Great ambiance inside the resort (layout, interior design, overall nice vibe).
4) Adequately spacious, comfortable room and great service by housekeeping.
Con's:
1) Valet parking gets old quickly if you are wanting daily access to your car... And you will want your car since snack and meal prices are astronomical. $26 for a burger and fries. $18/margarita ($72/margarita pitcher!). Also, there's a feeling of isolation and possibly boredom if you are staying for extended vacation. Hotel is so isolated in the hills. This is a positive if staying for only a couple days.
2) Balconies are open and provide NO privacy. This was big... a feeling of exposure. It felt like apartment-living from a balcony standpoint. And with Tucson weather and desert beauty, you probably WANT to spend plenty of time on your balcony.
3) The resort is positioned facing East. This is not a huge negative but it means that you will find very little shade for half-2/3 of the day. Unless you want to spend most of your day indoors or competing for a pool umbrella, you will find it difficult to find shade in warmer weather.
All things considered this is a very nice resort (It's the Ritz Carlton). But we found it short in value for the expensive nightly price tag.

Not a Honeymoon Destination
Do not select this hotel for a honeymoon, period. They cater to large groups and that creates a very loud and obnoxious poolside experience. Moreover, the balcony is about 1 ft away from the balcony next door so there is no privacy. Other than that, the service is outstanding, the beds are comfortable and the hitel is clean

Beautiful hotel and ideal setting. Relaxing and nice facilities. The hotel staff were also very nice and helpful. My only suggestion would be to consider a self-park option in addition to valet. We often had to wait a while to get our car and then had to pay both the parking rate and provide tips. This is my only constructive suggestion. Otherwise we had a very nice stay and enjoyed ourselves.

I was really excited about staying here, I used $250 in points. The grounds and over all appearance of the hotel were gorgeous. However, room service took over and hour and a half forgetting multiple items we ordered. The huge beautiful bathtub in the executive suite would not hold water. When we called to see if they had a rubber stopper or cover they wanted to send an engineer at 11 pm, after my baby was asleep. Naturally I declined. The hair dryer in the room did not work, and they charged us full price for the room along with the Expedia price by mistake. Seemed like a comedy of errors but not funny at that price $$$$. We were refunded extra charge and they gave us free breakfast.

The staff made our stay the best: Maria at Cayden’s; Jonathan at the front desk; Ivan at the pool, Darrian at Ignite. Maid service was fabulous with “Miss Kallie!” Our only complaint is the amount of flies everywhere and the smell of sewage at the pool area.

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The pools are gorgeous. Lobby is so large and there are many places to sit quietly and read and enjoy the ambience.
It’s a good ten minute drive to a small shopping center and longer to larger ones. Restaurants within five miles are all owned by the hotel and so are pricey.

I am concerned about the care of their desert tortoise, who did not appear to have much freedom of movement or adequate food. I don't think it is the business of a hotel to house wild animals that would better be cared for by a wild animal zoo or protector. And they had an herb garden on the terrace that was severely neglected and lacked water.

This is not a 5 star establishment. The food is horrible we tried every restaurant and they are all bad. I guess when I hear the Ritz I have certain expectations and they were not met. The pool is ridiculously small definitely not enough space for all the guests…I just don’t understand it but I am no longer trusting star ratings they mean nothing.

We loved everything about this resort. Wonderful staff, amenities, and food. It was a beautiful and very clean hotel. The kids (and us parents) enjoyed the waterslide and pools. It is a great value for everything they offer. We would stay here again if we come back to the area!!!

Incredible stay! This hotel is beautiful and there is plenty to keep you busy over a long weekend. The views are stunning and the food was all so delicious! Our only feedback would be that the hotel should try to be more connected to the airport at a inexpensive cost, they have partnered with a overly expensive cab service and it’s too remote to really rely on Uber.

Beautiful hotel. Staff very courteous and friendly. They always have bottled water if you need it.
Be ready to take a long walk to the parking lot however, unless you want to pay for valet parking.
Meals were good at Ignite and the wine bar, however pretty much same choice every day. Meals in the wine bar were huge, enough for two people, but I believe there is a $5 charge to split a meal there.

The property does not have enough dining options. The resort is 20 miles from Tuscon and 9 miles from other restaurants. The facility is beautiful and we'll run. Has lots of amenities.

Stay at Dove Mountain Ritz Carlton!
From the time we arrived to the time we left my husband and I had. Wonderful time. The Ritz Carlton in Dove Mountain is an absolutely beautiful resort. The staff was exceptional! The surrounding were magical! We sat out on the patio to have drinks one evening while a flautist played in the hills. The room was SO nice with the best bed we have ever slept on! Every single employee made us feel special. We will be going back!

They have horrible service here. Also, watch out for Hotels.com saying breakfast is included. It’s not. I ended up being charged twice for breakfast despite it being included in my stay. I brought it up to the front desk and they assured me it would be removed from my bill but my bill never changed, it actually increased after the second breakfast. I do not recommend.

Incredibly kind staff and beautiful resort with gorgeous mountain views all around. The room was spacious and very clean. Lots of onsite dining options and beautiful pool. Unfortunately a wildfire nearby cut our stay short but we would definitely make a trip back just to stay here again. The only negative was the spa being closed but not entirely shocking in light of COVID.

A short trip to Dove Mountain
The Ritz- Carlton, Dove Mountain is what I expect from a Ritz Carlton. Wonderful staff and I love the Frette bed linens and the wonderful deep bathtub. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the spa and fitness center were closed during my stay. Next time. The pool and surrounding area is simply lovely and the water slide was a blast. The only negative about pool is that people should wear proper bathing suits- Hate seeing cut offs and T-shirts! I can't wait to come back!

I understand about the limitations related to COVID-19, so I did not take any of that into consideration when writing this. Overall the building and grounds are very well maintained. The staff are all incredibly friendly and professional. The food needed a lot of work - even with the limited menu (which we were fine with) the dishes were not very tasty at all. The two biggest disappointments for me was the incredibly hard bed and the fact that we had to go downstairs and buy coffee every morning. Overall it was an okay experience, just okay.

I had a problem with one of my vehicle's tires during my stay. The staff went out of their way to use the site's compressor to inflate my tire (twice) so that I could get to a service station. Definitely service above and beyond the call of duty!
The staff was professional yet personable. The Ritz-Carlton at Dove Mountain is one of my favorite places to go for relaxation and a vacation.

Sad but happy at the same time.
Even though times are hard, we had to go! We still had a great time walking around and hanging out in their cozy plush rooms.
You can still order an array of great food and take it up to your room, and I highly recommend their grass-fed burger. Mmmmmm. I had the breakfast burrito the next day and loved it as well. We'll be back soon! Thank you Ritz!
