Room not ready at check in. Was given another room, but it was damaged. Tried 3rd room but did not get view I had originally book. Only one remote for 2 tv’s. Breakfast was good. But short hours. Need to make them longer.

Stop charging a ridiculous amount to park. Next time I’ll take that extra amount per day! and calculate into the room cost. I know I’ll find a better place that includes parking (as it should) into the room cost.

The property is ok. Building kind of old and it smelled like weed and cigarettes. Staff was not friendly at all. Didn’t get the room clean because they say u have to stay more than 7 days to get the room clean. I asked for clean towels they never bought them to my room.

Best for extended stays
Clean with friendly staff. Wifi clouds be upgraded. Enjoyed the full kitchen and living room. Very comfortable. Parking cost could have been included, that was unexpected cost

The property is located in a very nice and quiet place however in the four days I was there, no one came to clean my room. I asked a lady in the front desk to send someone to clean my room but no one did. I checked out today and my room was never cleaned. Very disappointing!!

Peaceful weekend stay with great views from room
Enjoyed the bay view, quiet surroundings. Great customer service from staff, friendly and attentive.
Breakfast was mediocre, hot food was cold. Trash and overfilled garbage outside and sometimes inside. No one answers when calling from your in room phone. Had to call using my cell phone.

I had a pretty view of the bay from my room. The room was clean and spacious, with cute decor. Front desk staff was friendly! I enjoyed using the hot tub, though one very small downside was that not all the hot tub jets worked well. Breakfast was okay; as a vegan I just ate the potatoes, but I was especially grateful they had almond milk for coffee since that is rare to find at hotels. Overall it was a fantastic stay!

A relatively long wait for the check-in.
The room/Appartement is very new and comfortable. The breakfast was simple, but good. I didn’t use any other options from the hotel apart from the parkinglot.

This is a pet friendly hotel. I probably wouldn’t have gone here if I knew this. The first room I was given, the hallway smelled like a flea collar. I found 3 fleas on me after being in the room 10 min. I was moved to another room quickly. John, at the front desk was wonderful. The second room had a nicer view of the pool. The bed was very comfortable and the boardwalk is lovely. It’s not very close to food so having a car or ordering takeout is easiest. There was a very loud aggravating noise coming from the pool area in the evening for over an hour until I went to the front desk and asked what it was. The woman at the front desk apparently hadn’t been informed by anyone else, but it ceased soon after I said something. The suites have a nice layout and I might go again if there weren’t dogs allowed.

Everything was OK except for the restrictions on the use of the pool, they used to open it at 8 AM, but for some reason now they opened at 10 AM, and I am a daily swimmer, they also lied to me about when the pool actually opens because I stayed there for a couple years and it used to open at eight

Went to the property early, they said check in was at 4pm, however looking online for my room type they had 7 available, the lady said that in order to check in, it would be a $75.00 fee which I found ridiculous. Rooms were available so it wasnt about my room not being clean or anything like that, they just wanted a fee for early check in. I ended up waiting 3 hours to avoid the stupid 75 dollar fee. The property grounds were a bit dirty, the room floor hallway was filled with trash from residents needing to be taken out, it sat there a whole day and stunk up the hallway. The next day it was finally taken out. They allow smoking outside the property but still on property premises which wasnt good, couldnt enjoy the hot tub or pool wothout people smoking. The 2 bedroom suite worked out well for the most part, but there was some hair in the bathroom left over and the tub had rust on it, which for spending money to remodel a room, dont cheap out on the tub.. other than that the breakfast was decent, pancakes, oatmeal, yogurt, juice, coffee, muffins, potatoes..overall the experiece was just okay, I probably wouldn't stay here again though. Parking fee is 16.20 a night also.

We had a two bedroom unit and it was very nice to have the extra room. It is nice to have a car if you stay here as the restaurants that are near by are mostly open lunch hours. The free breakfast is good.

Be aware of what type of suite you getting!!
Room had a weird smell. Not clean. Had bugs on the curtains. The fridge was super loud to the point that we can’t fall asleep.

I'd stay here again!!!
I arrived about 15 minutes early but my room was not ready yet and was told it would be about an hour & a half but I didnt mind. I'm assuming the manager, stepped in and was very helpful and held my bag, while i took a walk along the walking path. The room was amazing, comfortable & clean. I did use the shuttle & had no issues, other than they took my to the neighboring sister property and didnt even ask which one i needed to go to, so i had to walk to the next one but again, not a big deal. Breakfast line was the only thing i did not like, as you had to wait for like 20 minutes, for them to make each one individually, instead of doing it yourself, like most places.

I feel like this could be a 5 star property if they worked on these couple of things-
*breakfast- they didn’t have any water or juice. When I asked the front desk about water she literally was like “I don’t know” and walked away.
(Middle aged lady on a Monday morning) They also didn’t have any coffee cups??
*room cleanliness- whoever is cleaning those rooms is doing a horrible job. I liked the layout of the room but we found a dirty sock, hair in the bathroom and dog food on the floors. Gross
Overall I would say it was an okay stay. The pool area by the water is beautiful.

Pick a different place
The room was very dirty. There as hair in the bathroom drawers, jelly beans and jerky dried up on floor of unit. The common hallways had the same cigarette butts on the floor during my 3 night stay. I called for shuttle and 45 minutes later I watched it passed me by.I had to pay 30 for an Uber😢

The waterfront view from this hotel was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast each morning was a highlight. One area of trouble was room cleaning. We stayed nine days, and requested the room be cleaned after being there for 5 days. It took several days before our request for the room to be cleaned was fulfilled.
In all other respects, we were very happy with our stay.

Kinda of The Feel of Home...
Overall ok. Close to the airport. A couple hitches that would make us not stay again was the parking was listed as $10 optional... strange. Upon arrival was a $16 solid charge... huh?? . Room looked good on entry but soon discovered the floors were not cleaned well if at all. Pieces of food under the night stand, clothes tag strings in the carpet etc. Bathroom had an odor and some hair left around the shower. Rooms were all booked so no moving to another and no cleaning staff to fix the problem. Desk solution was to send up a vacuum and cleaning supply for our use... again... huh??. Which we reluctantly did. Felt like home was the advantage to this self help style. Inquired refund of some sort for cleaning our own room. Nope... but would waive the sketchy parking fee for our trouble. So we had that going for us. Just bring a vacuum and rubber gloves and you will feel right at home.

The dishwasher almost fell out when I tried to use it. It was not fastened to the cabinet. The two stoves were so weak that it took more than twenty minutes to boil water for noodles. The mattress was too soft for my back.

Beautiful hotel, tranquil location but...
This place is gorgeous, I was expecting it to be a disappointment but it looked even better than on the website. It's a lovely little area, not too remote, but just enough to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is one thing that kept this place from being great: dogs. Apparently, they allow dogs in the rooms and I swear there were at least 3 on my floor alone. If you want peace or sleep, you won't get much of either. But if you enjoy the sound of dogs barking endlessly at sunbeams or nitrogen molecules or whatever was waking them up at the crack of dawn every day, this is definitely the place for you

The property location is great a nice walkway that ends up at a docking area. My family and I enjoyed that while we were there. The breakfast options could be more varied. The room was a great size for the family however there was some aspects like the carpet and shower tub that needed some deep cleaning. Other than that we had a good time.

Pancakes and boiled eggs.
It was a nice stay. Our room was clean. Staff we very friendly. I would give this hotel a better review however with a free breakfast buffet advertised we were very disappointed when we went downstairs and read the sign saying "pancakes and boiled eggs." I would have preferred being under the impression that there is no breakfast considering with our own kitchen I would have simply prepared to cook for ourselves. Pancakes and boiled eggs is not appealing and also left us feeling misled.

Hotel was very nice. Stayed in a two bedroom suite with a great view and nice walking path around the bay. Unit was clean but could have used a little bit more attention to detail on the cleaning. Upon checkout, John at the front desk was exceptional and super friendly.
Would definitely book again.

Pet Friendly! Grounds are very nice to walk my dog. They don’t price gouge you on pet fee. Reasonable pet fee. Grounds have activities. Suite is updated, very clean and comfortable. Kitchen is roomy. 2 great TV’s in suite. Stayed 3 nights very comfortable. Will stay again.

The room was fantastic. However, the hotel was under renovations which we were not alerted to before booking. This made it to where the breakfast was VERY VERY limited. For example, frozen waffles they toasted, oatmeal, a banana and hardboiled eggs. No juice or cereal or the full buffet we were expecting. This would have been okay, had we been alerted to it before booking. I would stay here again- again the room was perfect for us and the beds were very comfortable. But if booking soon, I recommend calling to check on what amenities are currently available and full due to construction.

The Hotel was still doing renovations which we were unaware of when booking. Our one bedroom suites with harbour views were all renovated and were very clean and appealing. Beds comfy. Spacious. The harbour view varied between rooms and for a couple of the rooms I would say it’s a bit of a stretch to say “Harbour view”. If you get a harbour view it is pretty. The daytime Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The night staff not as much. The breakfast area was still under construction so it was a small breakfast served to you to eat in or to go. Always oatmeal and yogurts and then two hot choices that changed daily. The staff who served each morning we were there was very friendly. The pool area was nice. The hot tub jets not working properly but the water was warm. Very convenient location from airport and entry to San Fran. Could hear the odd train and plane at night. Some other guests have complained about the smell of weed. Definitely could smell that but you can not control what other guests do.. maybe just a general smell for California? However, I would rebook here if in the area again.

I was in SF to celebrate my sons 15th birthday. The property was under going a renovation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom w/kitchen room. The room had no toiletries. No kitchen appliances. The room was beautiful, but dirty. The interior of the hotel was dirty, trash everywhere was not picked up. Breakfast was limited. The exterior was horrible hot tub was dirty brown water, the barbecue grills were filthy. We were told we could use them and as we we’re going to barbecue we opened them up there was dirty clothes in them and trash. It was such a disappointment that the staff was not able to accommodate us or help. I have never left a bad review until now.

The daytime manager was, or is awesome. Unfortunately, the young lady who checked us in on Sunday evening was not the best with respect to her customer service skills -- we seemed to be inconvenient to her. However, when we returned from our meeting on Monday, the manager that greeted us was friendly and extremely accommodating.

We had not realized you were in the midst of renovation. Understand that construction can be a very intrusive environment, but it would have been nice to have the common areas a bit more clean at day's end. Also, the facility is supposed to be non-smoking, but there was obvious cannabis smell in the hallway and elevator. Had to request to change pillows. They smelled like they hadn't been cleaned in months/replaced.

I have stayed at this property several times previously. They are going through a pretty major facelift and my room on the fourth floor was really nice and updated ( I think floors 2/3/4 had been renovated. The first floor was a mess— lobby is in a conference room, seems like signage to the rooms and elevators was missing. Coffee was cold and breakfast option’s felt sterile. I’m sure it will be nice when remodel is complete— I was told that it should be end of June. Great location for my office.

The property is currently undergoing renovation, but construction did not start until 9 am daily. Hot breakfast daily. Not a whole lot of options, but they did have something different every day so it wasn’t the same thing. It is not self serve, they serve you, so you have to ask for every little thing, like butter…We loved the quiet location and the walking paths behind the hotel which were beautifully landscaped. Beautiful bay view. Would definitely stay here again!

We booked this hotel for a 2-night stay before traveling out of SFO. The best part about the Sonesta ES Suites is its location and proximity to SFO. The hotel itself was undergoing some sort of renovation work and first impression coming in was not good since the carpet looked dirty and the elevator was wrapped in padding. The room was clean so that made up for the first impression. There were no baggage carts available which would have been helpful if you were traveling with multiple bags. Breakfast was ok - breakfast sandwich (microwaved), coffee and yogurt.

Very pleasantly surprised with beautiful marina view and spaciousness of suite and full kitchen. The staff was very helpful and pleasant We had a hot free breakfast that was not expected and the outdoor/indoor dining area was so charming since it was next to the water. Very peaceful. Very good for the price. The carpet and couch is old but I understand everything is being remodeled. I read some very bad reviews but I guess my expectations are not high end like the people who check in. I will definitely rebook.

The checkin was pretty easy. I was not told the gym would be under construction or I wouldn't have stayed there (you could use the sister property but I didn't feel like going outside at 6am to do that), Renovations not listed on the website, or told on checkin - I went looking for the gym and saw the construction sign.
Our room was renovated and very clean and comfortable, however you could hear EVERYTHING at night, so I would recommend earplugs etc., we had to turn on the kitchen fan to drown it out.
Don't recommend the breakfast if you are looking for something "healthy" at all - there was even a sign by the food that said to be aware - as a lot of the food could contain chemicals that could cause cancer (all processed, muffins, yogurt, some kind of premade processed sausage burger that you find at corner stores and heat in the microwave). It was ok - but for $200 US a night plus tax (over $600 CA with parking), I don't think I would stay there again. Might be worth it for those cooking as it did have a kitchenette with coffee pot, microwave, stovetop, fridge, & dishwasher.
-We didn't use the outdoor pool or hot tub - they were heated but it was a little cool.
-There looked like a nice path in the back, which would be good for those with dogs (the hotel allows dogs.)
