Our room was awesome. It was one of the 2 bedroom suites. The room included everything we needed and the beds were super comfortable. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was better than we expected. Will look for this chain on future overnights!

No hot water
We had no hot water in the room, and the pull-out couch mattress was disgusting. It had many crumbs and had not been cleaned in months. It was also basically one big stain. I showed the manager on duty and they told me they would take care of my room and I have not been able to get in touch with them since. Would never return

Great for traveling with pets. Wonderful trails right behind the hotel with miles of wooded trails (behind the hotel cross over into the university property and follow the track around to wooded trails near the parking lot).

Great location, spacious rooms
Has all the amenities of a typical Sonesta. Room was clean but outdated. Location is unbeatable because it’s on a quieter street but still walking distance to many stores and restaurants.

I was disappointed by our stay. The walls were very thin--we could hear the person next door snoring and every toilet flush from the people above us. The staff was nice, but when I called to say there were no sheets for the pull-out bed they told me I could come down and get some if I wanted--it was late and we were ready for bed, so I got dressed to go down--to find sheets and pillows left there, no people around. The halls were dark and not clean--other patrons were throwing trash in the hallway and it stayed there. We walked over the same apple core 3 times. I would not stay here again

This is the place to stay in Charlottesville
This was our first stay at this hotel and it was fantastic. Super clean, very convenient to lots of things either walking or a quick Uber or drive, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We used the sofa bed and it was by far the most comfortable sofa bed I have ever slept on. These 2 room suites are huge and offer a lot of space. I really loved the main floor lobby which was huge with lots of table and chairs and a big screen TV.

Original room had wet carpet from air conditioning leak or condensation, not sure how it was deemed ok to put someone in. Front desk found other room quickly and moved us once I called them about the condition. Next room didn’t have all necessary linens for pullout couch and That mattress had a fitted sheet on it already, perhaps from previous occupant?

I lived in Charlottesville for 5 years and this visit felt like I was home again. The property location is ideal (minutes to campus or downtown), the staff is exceptional and the rooms are spacious with all the amenities you would need. Kudos!

Overall the staff was really friendly, the hotel was clean and comfortable. When I was checking out on 07/16/2023, the front desk manager wanted to charge me for parking and was rude about it. The parking fees have been charged to my card in addition to the $100 incidental. I told her I will not pay twice.

The fees! There isn’t a single reason why the $5 daily parking fee isn’t included in the overall price listed… except to deny visitors an opportunity to shop around for a better deal. It isn’t a separately managed lot or anything and it’s too far to walk to campus. Enjoy $15 dollars of daily taxes for staying In town as well. I’ll venture out further next time.

The bathroom had hair on the floor in some very obvious places as if the cleaning was not complete. The shower didn't appear to be be well-cleaned either. The unit didnt have trashcans in every room, and the furniture had not been dusted in quite some time. In addition, the furniture could have used some vacuuming as well. There was lint and hair in obvious places which tells me that no attention was given to the sofas.

Good sized room. Too much disturbing noises.
Good sized suite room. Nice and clean. Friendly staff surong check in/out.
The only complaint was the noise disturbance. There was a sport competition outside at 6am in the morning, the loudspeaker woke us up and kept us awake. Then at noon, the sound of wood cutting from the floor above us again disrupted us.

How is this hotel so highly rated???
I cannot understand how this hotel is so highly rated. The room cleanliness was fine expect for a musty smell. There were no dishes or utensils in the room so I had to go to the front desk. Clerk literally hands me a fork, knife and spoon. Not wrapped in plastic or paper….just bare handed. Woke up the next morning and discovered no coffee service in the room. Waited until 6:30 for “breakfast” to begin. Breakfast consists of on small table with packets of instant oatmeal and a granola bar. The coffee carafe was empty and no one was manning the front desk. Never again!

I arrived at the hotel at 5:10pm with my family, an hour and ten minutes after check in and our room was still not ready. I was told by the manager the room would be ready in ten minutes but we had to wait 30 minutes. When I mentioned this to the lady at check in she said this was normal and I was like I only had to wait 30 minutes. I attempted to bring this experience to your customer service number and she woman who answered accused me of wanting something. I thought this was very rude. I told her I wanted to bring this to your attention so that you can improve your service, that if this was normal Thani would share my experience with other guests who had unrealistic expectations, that you should have a wait 30 minutes for a room after checking in an hour and ten minutes after check in. Also think you should have more empathetic employees too.

The hotel facilities were acceptable. But 2 gripes:
1. No breakfast was offered on 1 of 2 mornings “due to staffing issues”. I am sympathetic, but believe a partial refund of, say, $10.00 per guest when breakfast is not provided as promised.
2. The hotel charges a $5.00 fee for parking. This is not a city hotel; it is a typical motel. Chincy…just charge $5 more as a room fee!

Staff was great, the room on second floor needed some attention. Sofa stained, we could here the people above us while in the tub and alot of walking around. Staff was great moved us to anohter room the next day. Rooms were very big, love a living room in between two bedrooms and had two bathrooms which we always look for when travel with adult children

The young lady who checked us was a bit gruff in her demeanor during our check in. She seemed out off to answer a couple of questions we had. The room overall was fairly clean, aside from the desk chair that had a rather large white dirty spot on it that looked very suspect, the couch cushion also had similar spots on it.
The units were a bit dark due to less than stellar lighting. The beds were definitely well used, although not horrible they definitely need a new or better quality mattress.
The staff we encountered in the hallways were always nice and courteous, as well as the lady who check us out.
Almost forgot, take your own toilet paper, they are using what feels like 80 grit sandpaper, although it is 2 ply.

I was genuinely surprised how nice the rooms were. There was a kitchen! We didn’t utilize it much because I missed the part that said there was a kitchen, but it was so nice. It came with a bunch of stuff like pans and plates! The bed and the bathroom was great and the TV even let you sign into Netflix and YouTube. I would definitely stay again.

I have stayed at this property when it was Marriott and the amenities were considerable better. My complaints are the breakfast was inedible. We had to go out the second morning. There were no complimentary bottles of water in the room. Check-in on Friday had water and cookies at front desk. No water Saturday or Sunday.

The location was convenient, but that may be the only thing decent about it. Check in was at 3pm, but when we arrived, we and multiple guests were informed that they did not know when our rooms would be ready. The staff was polite but unable to handle the situation. They did not have any amenities, did not offer anything such as wifi passwords or even water as we waited for over an hour. We had come to attend a wedding and needed to get ready and catch a shuttle at another hotel at 4pm. We were told a group had stayed for over 6 months and our rooms were being deep cleaned and they were short staffed. I had asked if there was a locker room we could use but apparently they were "not in usable conditions". Instead we got ready in the lobby restrooms. The check in staff, though nice was oblivious to trying to help figure out any accommodations, when we asked for coffee she directed us to a nearby shopping center. The lady reporting what rooms were clean finally got us a room at 4, but by this point were were clothed and had already missed our shuttle. Needless to say, we were frustrated and did not see a point to checking in, but the main frustration came for the sheer lack of being able to handle the situation. We asked for the manager and were shocked to find they were not reachable (on a Friday at 3/4pm) with such a big mishap involving so many guests. Angelica was sweet and offered compensation that we will need to follow up but our room was clearly not deep cleaned.

Got a 1 bedroom suite for the weekend. It had a full kitchen area and everything was clean. No noise issues. I was able to have a short walk to the shopping center and also Sedona Tap House. I wish there was an indoor pool but I'm probably being nit picky. Only real issue was the windows in the room had a draft. Otherwise, nice hotel. I would defiantly come back here the next time in Charlottesville.

I was locked out of my room in the morning after getting coffee so I needed help getting in they had to change the battery. Hotel manager Adam came to change the battery and when I asked why they don't check the batteries so this doesn't happen to guests he looked at me with anger and said I was rude and that he could kick up OUT of his hotel because he was the manager. What is wrong with the world. Who allows people to manage a hotel who would threaten a 59-year-old woman who is traveling alone. I left ASAP I felt threatened and I was alone in the hallway with this anger person. Also, gum was on my nightstand when I checked in gross! This person should not be allowed in the hospitality industry.

Took refuge during a bad snowstorm and power outage. Hotel inundated, but everything worked out great for us. Good accomodations for a good price. Staff responsive to all of our questions and requests. Our small dog welcomed with reasonable pet fee.
