what i disliked was their bad service when they messed up my earliest reservation since we arrived there late from football game and those rooms were almost full even thought the early reservation came first service so they gave us queen size bed and sofa bed for which the sofa bed was sucked that made me uncomfortble sleep

Not a great experience…
Checking in was fine, although, out of the ordinary as the individual checking in denigrated my reservation method as I was checked in. When I arrived at my room I was met with a unclear notice on my door that my room would be subject to an “routine” annual animal search for pests which I could only deduce meant they would be looking for bed bugs. All I could think about was bed bugs. Why on earth would the guy check me into a room that was suspected, or that he knew would be searched by K9’s the next day. Not all doors had the notice. The pillows were overused and smelled. Not a great experience for a hotel that is one of the most expensive in this town.

When I rented the property---according to expedia---it was a smoking property---I rented the smoking king room only to find out it was a non smoking property when I arrived.

Road trip
Beautiful hotel on outskirts of town. Large rooms. Excellent shower and facilities in the hotel. Everything looked new. Used the gym. Breakfast great variety and helpful staff Great base for our road trip. Remember Staunton only comes alive at weekends so disappointed in town with most closed on Monday and Tuesday

Worthwhile Stay
Comfortable room, good hot breakfast with both gluten free and dairy free selections, clean pool that wasn’t too cold, overall comfortable aesthetic. Will definitely stay here in the future!

Excellent highway hotel

Comfy visit
I enjoyed my stay. I stayed at the same Fairfield last year and it is still a very well maintained and friendly. Rooms are comfortable. Rooms are updated, clean and bed is comfortable. Love having a refrigerator and microwave. I will be staying again when I am in the area.

We stayed there overnight to break up a long trip. It was very convenient to the highway and very quiet. The rooms were clean and the front desk staff were very helpful, with good suggestions for dining options. Would definitely stay there again.

They charged us $20 for nothing! We did not charge a single thing to our room. Where did the charge come from? We think that they just cheated us. Why??? Basically, a nice hotel with no security. ☹️☹️☹️

It's a really nice hotel. I especially liked the outdoor seating with nice benches/chairs and cushions. Even a nice stone wall to separate parking area. Nice touch! Unfortunately, our beds had some type of bug biting us at night. I didn't say anything about it and my daughter said she thought she got bit by something, and I told her I thought I did, too. We threw the covers off and just used the sheets and that seemed to help a lot.

Property was clean and well equipped. The “included breakfast” was so bad they shouldn’t even bother including it. Not even the basics like toast, but they had some gross “omelettes” and rubber egg and bacon sandwiches. Jo, the front desk attendant when I checked in was great, unfortunately I can’t say the same about the front desk staff the next morning. Was ignored for a few minutes while he looked at his computer. Overall the facility was great, but the staff and amenities need some work

It’s just okay
This is a good hotel, but I don’t really get the high ratings. It’s okay. It’s what you would expect at this price point. But it is nothing special. If you want a clean room, just off the highway with all the basic things a hotel should have, then this hotel fits. If you’re looking for special, 9.4-type of special, then you will be disappointed.

Three items stuck out during our stay that we found disappointing.
1) We notified the front desk before 8am that the bathroom sink was partially clogged, it drained very slowly. When we checked out at 11am the next day the maintenance department still had not visited the room.
2) The overall appearance of the common areas and our room was one of cleanliness however once we were settled-in it became clear that there is little attention to detail by a presumably overworked housekeeping staff.
3) My wife went down to the pool for a mid afternoon swim. Shortly after beginning some laps a local swim instructor arrived with ten 3 & 4 year olds who each screamed as they got their faces wet. Not exactly a relaxing environment. While my wife was not asked to leave the pool area when the swim class arrived we overheard another hotel guest voice his dissatisfaction at the front desk the next morning that his family was prevented from using the pool due to the class. We booked this hotel specifically bc it has an indoor pool. There should be some notice online that the pool is closed to paying guests for a couple of hours mid-afternoon.
Our bottom line is that there are many other hotels in the area, we will stay at one of them the next time we are in the area.

The facility was clean and comfortable. Staff helped us a lot and even had a list of local restaurants the offered gluten free options. The pool was warm and clean and offered a nice relaxing break from our travels.

Just "Ok"
Being a Fairfield I expected much more and choose this hotel while being on the road because of your reputation and my past experiences.
Nothing was terrible but the furniture, carpet and bedding were quite average.
Just an "ok" 2 nights.

Perfect for our needs
This was just a quick overnight stay for us while traveling. Arrived at 11:30 and was immediately greeted at the front desk. Quick and easy CheckIn. She even gave us a first floor room, I guess for ease of access since it was so late. The room was in excellent condition and very clean. Didn’t look out the window for a view. My only negative is really a personal preference, the mattress was on the firmer side. I still slept well. Just prefer a pillow top. Oh and 4 great pillows. 😊

Was a property easy to access of interstate. The front desk staff was most friendly & helpful. The 'bit of negative' I would share was thin tpwels & no bathmat in the bathroom, as well as the soap is beyond small in size to wash/shower. The morning free breakfast was well stocked & a great variety...on the whole a B

Convenient and quiet. No freeway noise. Really like the new layout and functionality of furniture/closet/drawers that Marriott is designing with new hotels. The shower could use some attention around the bottom of the glass as some mold was starting to build up. Otherwise very clean and comfortable.

It did not start good. I called the day before to let them know it would be a late check in prolly shortly after 11pm. When we got there at 11:10pm there was a guy who looked like he had been waiting a while standing at the check in desk but no one was there. We both stood there another 5 minutes or so and he walked away and returned a couple minutes later. After about another 5 minutes someone appeared from the back and one came in from outside. I get that it is late and prolly not too busy but if there are two of you on someone should always be at the desk. Once we were checked in the room was nice. No real frills but clean and functional. I used the gym in the am which was small but good and I had it all to myself. We didn’t use the indoor pool but it looked nice. Also outside they had some chairs and a fire pit that were a nice touch. The continental bfast was standard and check out was confusing as I booked the hotel on hotels.com they couldn’t seem to figure it out. Same thing happened when we checked in. They weren’t able to give me a receipt and said they would email it at a later time. All in all if you are just stopping in your way through to some place else this was a good, clean hotel.

Excellent stay!
We have stayed four different times on our way south. It has been the perfect half way point for destinations south. Excellent service, clean, free hot breakfast, great coffee early, free parking, rooms are great with wonderful beds, free water bottles. Easy on off highway, great outdoor space with fire pit to eat and enjoy the evenings. I would recommend to everyone.

Carpet in stairs and super clean.
Great place and a great location. Enjoyed just relaxing and the personal name on tv. Like that I could sign into Netflix. Also used the stairs as we do at most hotels and they were carpeted and super clean. Very impressed. I would so stay there again....

So pleasantly surprised by this property!! Amazing..the bed coverings were unbelievably nice, comfy and a perfect weight.. the room was very european like, and we absolutely loved it, will change my mind about these "quickie" motels..highly recommend it!!!

Easy access right off I-81...very clean and friendly staff. BTW, if you’re using a go’s to find it it won’t list crossing way which is off exit 222. It only lists crossing lane which is off exit 225. Marriot needs to put the exit number in the address info.

There was nothing unique about the property. The room was fine but had no character or charm whatsoever. The staff at the front desk performed their duties efficiently but it felt to us that they didn’t want to be there. The room was clean, the bed was excellent and we slept well.

The room with a king size bed was very small. It was challenging for 2 people to walk past each other while getting to the bathroom. The air in the room was so dry.
Towels are located too low under the sink.
No night tables had any USB ports or outlets for charging devices. Check in took longer as the worker accepted a phone call . There was another worker besides her but didn't finish checking us in.

Very clean and up to date. Bed very comfortable providing a good night’s sleep, staff friendly and helpful. Only drawback was no freezer unit in frig to refreeze our travel packets and no hot breakfast. Only grab and go. Ended up going to Kathy’s for breakfast. Would stay here again.

The hotel itself was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable, except for the toilet paper rolls were not changed, and normally that wouldn't be a complaint of mine, but during a world pandemic, I would think that everything would be sanitized properly and nothing that the previous tenant used would be left in the room for sanitary purposes. The staff was not very hospitable. The first day I checked in I was welcomed with a smile and great customer service, but after that it was pretty much downhill. We were not aware that they don't have housekeeping on the weekends, and we had broken glass on our bathroom floor. We went down to the desk in the morning to let them know for housekeeping safety that we tried to clean up as much as we could and used our towels to clean up the soda and everything, just to be told that there was no housekeeping on the weekends so we were pretty much on our own. We went down later that night after getting back to the hotel to get some clean towels since we had used ours to clean up the spill in the bathroom, and the front desk clerk was not very helpful and made it seem like I was an absolute inconvenience to him that he had to find me some towels. While grabbing breakfast on the morning of check out, we had to wait for the manager and employee to stop having a roasting session about a collogue of theirs calling out that day before we could be helped. I chose this hotel based on the good reviews, but I was pretty disappointed myself.

The room was clean and I found the beds to be comfortable. The bathroom had a mirror that was lit well. They offered a bag breakfast to go which was very nice and they had a selection of things to select. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel had been opened almost 2 years but we thought it was brand new - based on it's overall condition. We only had contact with the evening front desk person. She was very welcoming with excellent customer services.
