Nice clean place
While it looks to be an older property, room was very clean and spacious. The front desk person was nice, and nobody bothered us the 4 nights we were there. It was an easy walk to the beach, and parking was excellent. I would stay at Sugar Sands in the future.

Our shower floor had lots of, what look like, mold. It also had cracked shower floor that had tape on it, but felt like you were falling through. We did leave early due to weather.

Awesome room
I booked the suite(emerald) and it was awesome. With bunk beds, a bedroom with 2 queen beds ,full kitchen ,dining area and sofas. It was clean and we love the space. Love the beach view. Pool was heated. Downside is no restaurant in house, We have to wait past 4pm to checked in because room was not ready. Only 1 kitchen towel provided, no sponge to wash dishes,no broom and dusk pan in room. But overall , we are very satisfied with our stay and the room.

I loved the location! We laid in bed watching the waves after our morning stroll on the beach. The sunrise was stunning! Everything was relaxing.
The kitchenette was stocked with pots, pans, some storage containers, etc. Pretty much everything you'd need except the groceries.
The room itself was clean, comfortable beds, all updated. It was very roomy. The chairs on our patio were niceto sit in and watch the waves.
For kids, they have a small area of turf with some toys. Even myself and my husband played some connect four. It wa broken but we emphasized. The pool area has plenty of lounge chairs.
Breakfast: They had coffee available, and blueberry muffins. If you usually eat breakfast then you'll be hungry. Although a few miles down the road is a place called David's Snow balls- It's a must! They serve New Orleans style food!
We will recommend the place, and come back for sure. The price & location sold us!
I would suggest always locking your slider door, an employee did come into our room. They stated it was the wrong room.

Great location and staff
Staff was very friendly. Building is in terrible shape. Bed was very firm but pillows were great. Floor was very dirty. Beach access was phenomenal. Some heavy cleaning and repairs would do wonders for a terrific location and wonderful staff.

The beds were super comfortable, the pillows the best. The room was clean and quiet (for the best part). One night the upstairs guest were a bit noisy most of the night. The room is in need of a bit of an update, peeling paint outside the room door, some of the wood needs replaced. mostly by the outdoor water outlet. Indoors everything worked great, stove oven fridge. No hairdryer and an area by the tub needs some maintenance.beach was fabulous, Otherwise was a great place to stay, will definitely be back.

Conveniently located near the beautiful Inlet Beach between Panama City Beach and Rosemary Beach. While the room was clean, the common areas would benefit from a good cleaning and upgrading.

These questions were sort of difficult to answer without some explanation. First half, Erin, the assistant manager, makes this entire property and the beachcomber worthwhile. I had a couple of concerns and he probably took care of them. Although the entire place needs a facelift And some TLC, I loved how close it was to the beach. A pool, although not heated, is clean and I was grateful to be here.

The soffit is missing in many places allowing pigeons to roost in attic and crap on balconies. It has been blown off since last hurricane came through years ago. We have stayed here on vacation many times over last 30 years. Probably not going to stay again.

The pictures when booking are misleading. It looks clean, bright and overall a good place to stay but, it is different once you get there. Our room was not clean- there was hair in the shower, hair in the freezer, it smelled stale, pen marks on the wall and there were crumbs in the bed. There was also no shower curtain liner so water got all over when we took showers.
Upon arrival, our hotel door was very tricky to open and close. We had to maneuver the door perfectly or else it would refuse to close. We went back up to grab a quick lunch from our room and to our dismay, we were locked in. We tried for about 15 minutes to get out but we were trapped. We even tried the window but it wouldn’t budge. I finally called the front desk and she said she was going to send maintenance up there. The maintenance guy was kind and took care of it but it took over an hour out of our limited time at the beach to be fixed which was frustrating and saddening. We were also made aware that the locks were “on their last leg and they have new ones to install” which was disappointing because the whole situation could have been avoided had the new locks been installed.
I get it things happen, but there is no excuse for the uncleanliness of the room and having non- functioning locks on doors.

Pool outside back door. Loud preteens with no staff checking to stop blasting music. Throwing footballs across the pool scaring elderly people, chasing them out.
No toilet paper except half a roll. Internet and cable from stone ages, could not watch tv. Always buffering, no coffee available in lounge for two days

Very outdated, dirty bathroom, poorly maintained, elevator was horrible-took forever, loud and shaky! Ac unit in room didn’t work well. Breakfast was a joke. No hot tub. Pool was full of kids late at night, very loud. Outdoor showers were a joke, nasty walk ways to beach. Surrounding area around hotel was dirty and poorly maintained.

Location was great. Inside clean and had everything you need. Great ocean view and access. However the outside NEEDS a ton of work. For the money can’t complain but paint and some new concrete would do wonders.

Property is in need of rehab. Floors were so dirty our feet were black from walking barefoot on them. No toiletries given. Had to ask for towels every day.

Shower had a hole in the floor. Shower curtain was too short had to mop water when got thru showering . Had to put a pen in a hole in the sliding back doors to lock while we were out. Ac roared like a freight train. Refrigerator gargled when ac went off. Room 111 check it out. Turned me against the beach.

Love how you can park in front of your room and your on the beach they upgraded in side very nice but outside hopefully they will get to lil high on night rate but pool lil dirty all and all I would stay there again for sure staff was as nice as they should be

Great direct ocean front rooms with large balcony. Our room had been completely updated. If you can try to get a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. We asked for the 2nd but it was sold out but we got the last room on the 3rd floor. This way you avoid the hot slow elevator and just take the stairs which is what we did. I was impressed by the size of the room, the full kitchen and being right on the beach.

So devastated about our stay. We stayed here in 2017 and loved it. Elevator didnt work so staying on the 4th floor was rough up and down concrete steps multiple times. Room was dirty. Dirty dishes and stove had old food on it. Floors were gross. Bed sheets did not fit and popped off as soon was you sit or lay on the bed. Staff was unwilling to help with these issues. Ceiling was leaking. Mold on the windows and balcony. Staff members were rude and even though we had a do not disturb tag up our room was entered and our stuff was pilfered through. We will never go back nor do we want to visit panama city because of the whole experience. Save the stress and time and go further south into florida. The whole town is rude.

The location is very quiet, beautiful beach. They have jet skis and loungers on the beach. We were on the 5th floor and the elevator went out. They moved us to the 1st floor with no issues. They did run out of towels for a day. The only issue is there are no chairs or a table in the room, having a kitchen, it would be nice for somewhere to eat. Also need more lights in the rooms. Staff was very nice

Had a good experience overall just some handy work and upkeep on the physical building you can see in different areas where tlc is needed
Wouldve taken this experience to the next level. The room was a nice size and spacious. Maybe a good sweeping it better cleanliness wise but i got a broom and swept. At a beach side resort sand is something that is not crazy to see in a otherwise clean room just a bit if a nitpick. Walls kind of thin. Could hear the kids next door. Felt bad because ik they heard us too but issa vacay kids just gonna have to find out how they got here i guess lol. Loved the view of the beach. The staff was great btw. The staff and location made this an overall good experience

Check in was a disaster! Got there at lunch and had requested an early check in! The front desk called us when room was available. It was not available when we got there from beach. Dude kept giving out rooms to everyone else then told us our request for poolside room was not ready. We did not request poolside. This went on and on. After demanding my money back because by this point we had wasted almost 3 hrs of our only full day there, they finally gave us a room. Apparently, the man at desk got us confused with someone else but did not straighten it out. Done! Won’t go back!

The room is nice but the view is better. Sugar Sands provided pots, pans, basic kitchen ware, and everytjing you need to make your stay comfortable. Front desk and housekeeping are great, the young woman that was there on the day I checked in helped me out with some confusion I had during booking and didn't make me feel bad about it, which was really nice because I was probably visibly stressed. 9/10 only because you have to pay for laundry and the washers are small.

Pretty good overall
Inside of room was nice and clean. The kitchen is helpful for long term stays. The outside of the building could use some cleaning, and the pool was cloudy. The location on the beach is fantastic.

Very small parking lot but there was additional parking across the street. We enjoyed the location because it was away from the heavy traffic of PCB. The beach wasn't crowded, and we were able to enjoy the solitude of just being on the beach and relaxing. The rooms were clean and the property was well maintained. The staff was great and took care of any problems we had.

Nice, clean rooms. Great and easy beach access. My biggest complaint is that the folks at the front desk come off a bit rude especially if you have questions. Last, the elevator was very sketchy. We waited for 3 minutes for the elevator to move and thought we're stuck. But finally the door opened and we were able to just use the stairs. Despite these complaints, we enjoyed our stay overall.

Great stay but crappy attitude employees
The staff is not very friendly, do not have many smiles for guests and typically act like you are inconveniancing them. Many do not even speak enough english to understand what you need for room cleanings etc.
The views on the ocean side are amazing, most if not all rooms have kitchens and they are well stocked. I would bring your own pans though.
We have stayed here two separate times in 2023. The first stay was awesome. Got everything we wanted. Great views and lots of relaxation.
Our second stay was for our honeymoon. We booked a deluxe room. When we arrived they stuck us in a standard room. We asked them to fix it and the guy at the desk had no empathy. Here we are 600+ miles from home with a two year old having traveled over 15 hrs to get there and nowhere to go. The guy said the booking company sent the wrong information and a standard was all they had in their system for us. So after 30 min of back and forth between the front desk and hotels.com the situation was remedied. After this it was a great stay once again.

The ONLY good thing about this property was how close to the beach it was and the beautiful beach.
The building is severely damaged. Stucco is falling off so bad there is exposed rebar above the doors, sides of building, metal roof is peeled back in areas. There is no outside lighting on the back side and around pool, only lights are inside the pool. There is bugs in the rooms, rats in garbage can, rooms so hot it melted our chocolate. It was not stocked with utensils we had to use plastic from the car. Water in above room was leaking into our bathroom ceiling tile, we looked in it and ceiling space is full of mold. Upon entering room I wiped down the counter with my own clorox wipes and the dirt and food was unreal for just being cleaned.

Hotel. Tub in poor condition. Bath air vent needs cleaning. Bath room sink and kitchen sinks were slow to drain due to sand in pipes.

Loved how we could walk out our door and have access to the beach or pool within fifty feet. Staff was excellent. Came by every afternoon to see if we needed anything (towels, coffee etc). We had a great time. Definitely going back

I really enjoyed my stay at Sugar Sands. A friend and I were looking for a small place on the beach to sit and read and relax. This was it! We booked a queen suite and I was impressed with the size and how clean it was. The air conditioning in our room was amazing, especially since it was so unbelievably humid outside. The resort was fairly quiet and the few evenings people were out by the pool late, our air conditioner drowned the sound out. We were on the second floor, so we were able to walk up and not wait on the elevator each time. The elevator was not air conditioned, so it was extremely hot. There were grills by the pool which we did not use but people left their charcoal and lighter fluid so others could also use it. They seemed to be used every evening. There isn’t anything within quick walking distance, but because of that, the beach isn’t crowded. It was a great week!
Things we enjoyed: ice machine by the pool, coffee and water cooler available 24/7, staff super friendly, room was clean, any floats or pool toys left by previous guests were available to use which was great, pool towels by the pool to use
Suggestions: umbrellas by the pool! In the middle of the day, there is NO shade anywhere. That would be such a simple improvement and would make an amazing difference! More pool towels- it was always empty or only had a few available. The hallways and stairs could use some power washing or a scrubbing. I did see staff sweeping the mail walkways quite often.

Picked this spot for the epic beachfront view and direct sand access. But, gotta say, it’s a mixed bag.
First off, the place feels kinda old and sticky. Not dirty, just sticky. That plus the complete lack of wifi in the rooms was a big turnoff; Ended up bailing a day early.
Staff's chill, especially at the front desk. But you won’t see 'em around much. Housekeeping's a miss, with sand creeping into the room. And watch out for that walkup room – no doormat, sand gets everywhere...
Pool's not bad, but it's on the small side. By the way, take your own beach gear, renting recliners and umbrellas for gets pricey at $45 bucks a pop a day.
the kitchen was a surprise. Updated and well equipped, cooking was good.
Bear in mind that summer rains can keep you cooped up indoors. Adding to our woes, the building itself exhibited water infiltrations everywhere with continuous dripping plaguing our porch area throughout the stay. Also, we only had blackouts so you are either in the dark with privacy or you are inlight without any privacy because the pool area looked into our room. Drapes would solve that
Bathroom? Worn out and tired. The shower turns into a mini-flood after every use, not fun.
To sum it up, killer beach spot, but they need to step up. Gonna call it fair for now, especially for what you pay. Hopefully, they work on these things for a better stay next time.

Beautiful view
There is no way to get the sand out of the rooms so its messy walking. The room was fine, this is my fourth time staying here. I will return. It needs a little tlc outside where the air conditioner leaks the water. I noticed people were throwing their garbage on the beach and nearby more than normal. Our room was ground floor just a few steps to the sand. Quite beautiful.

THE BEACH WAS RIGHT OUT OUR DOOR IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! The bed was comfortable we had room service at our door everyday for a week asking if we needed anything that was nice! The pool was clean and when it got dirty they cleaned it so it was a great experience thank you Hotels.com

Not bad for an overnight stay.
Hotel is older and needs some updating. Our room was ground level.and walked right out to the beach. Bed was comfy and clean and AC was very cold. I would recommend if the price is low enough as a good deal. Be warned, parking is tight if you have a full size vehicle, you will need to park across the street .

We stayed for a week at Sugar Sands and had a great time! The room was decent and the beds were okay, they were actually comfortable compared to most hotels ive stayed in. I do feel like the room could have been cleaned up a bit more. The microwave was dirty and the floors needed swept and there was alot of dust in some areas. The staff at the front desk was nice which was a plus. The only thing i would even consider complaining about was the air-conditioning leaking all over the balcony. My 2 year old slipped twice in the water. We didnt really want to sit out there because of that and waking up to enjoy the waves is something we enjoy doing. The pool was nice and clean. They have washer and dryers but not located on the property. They are across the street which i did not like at all. Parking was okay but ended up across the street alot. The elevator button you have to push over and over before it would even work! Also online when booking it said they had roll away cribs for babies and when we checked in the lady said they didnt have anything like that. I had a good time but i do think it was a bit overpriced for what it is.

The phone in the room to call the front desk did not work. A little scary in case of emergency. We were on the 5th floor so we used the elevator for carrying our chairs and beach gear. It sounded awful. I was nervous every time we used it. The room was clean, staff was nice and we did have a good trip.

Perfect location
We picked this stay because of the location. We wanted to be close to the mix but not in the mix of it all. We were there during the Fourth of July week and even though our condo was sold out, you would have never known. We practically had the beach most days to ourselves with maybe 6 other families.
The staff was super friendly and always ready to assist from the front desk to the room attendants. I even had to have my key fob expressed to me overnight and they made sure to handle the situation with care and concern. Customer service like that goes a long way !!!!

Property was overpriced and not as shown on website. Internet service was terrible. Water pressure was very poor. No paper towels in kitchen. Lighting was poor. I expressed my concerns to the manager about my feelings about the price I paid. He promised me that he would see if he could get some discount for me and would call me. I haven’t received that call.

On my first day once I got to my room I realized that the bath was in poor condition cracked and nasty.
I make a complaint to the staff at the front desk and they offer to move me to another room for the next day.
when I try to use a cart to move my baggage to the other room the casters were stuck, the hotel just has three carts, and none working properly.
the key wasn't working well I have to back at least once a day to the front desk to get a new key every day.
the elevator broke for two days in a row, and on the morning of my checkout was a problem taking down all my baggage through the stairs.

Wi-Fi did not work. Sheets were not clean, refrigerator didn’t really work. Check out was at 10 but they shut lights out at 915 930 am which didn’t make any sense. Only good thing the fact that it was beach front

This property is a hidden gem! Beach view is amazing. The property is NOT an upated property, it could use a few upgrades in terms of the cosmetics of the rooms and the elevator having no circulation. The staff were amazing, very friendly and responsive. BOOK IT!!

Beautiful location
We came down to our happy place and found Sugar Sands. The location is perfect! Upon arrival the outside of the building is a little worn but while we were there they were working on the roofs. The rooms had been updated and were clean. I do however wish there were rugs to catch the sand, brooms to help sweep up the sand and maybe a couple of more pans for cooking. The kitchenette was cute and got the job done for breakfast and lunch. The staff was friendly. Overall we had a great trip and would book again.

The room was very clean. I don’t think it was worth the $300 a night. There was a wall dispenser in the shower that said 3 in 1 body wash. I guess that was suppose to be shampoo/conditioner and soap. It smelled horrible. I get having soap dispensers but not offering shampoo and conditioner separately I don’t understand. The view was beautiful we were on the 5th floor. However not having a working elevator made coming and going from our room exhausting especially after being outside in the sun.

Love this place!
We loved it here! The place was clean, cozy, and secluded. Just far enough away from town for it to be the best romantic getaway. We will continue to stay here every time we come to PCB. Highly recommended

Not what I was expecting the building seem out dated but when you get inside the room that's another story. Rooms are great we got the first floor and it was amazing opening the back door and walk right to the beach! We definitely stay here again!

Relaxing vacation.
The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The beds were not great, too soft so not very supportive. No guide for the tv channels so you have to flip through dozens of channels. Even though most of the trip is spent outside occasionally we would turn on the tv and not being able to find anything was annoying. It is also way down the beach so you do have to drive a good distance to find restaurants and shops, but it was great if you are looking for something quiet and family friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

From the first we were impressed the room was awesome very clean and neat the little things meant a lot from the crisp clean sheets to the clean floors to the towels in the bathroom I would highly recommend this place it is now our go to place we will be booking here for our next trip to Panama City

Beach front and pool were great! The staff was great! Beautiful. The hotel could use some repairs.

Facility was a bit old but updated. I would suggest another mirror be added.
