Perfect location, nice and clean hotel. Staff very friendly. The only thing we didn’t like the rain shower was not working properly, it’s was either boiling hot or ice cold.

Valet were very nice and accommodating, the hotel is very pretty the outside is really nice it’s clean and well decorated on the interior…simple..zen even the elevators smell clean and fresh. Everyone was nice enough and the room was small but fine. A really nice thing was the texts I received,asking how things were going and being able to text back and get a prompt response the communication was great, I haven’t experienced that with other hotels before… there were some inconvenient housekeeping errors and oversights that made it frustrating but the front desk offered help around this… and were very nice. It’s a very lovely area… safe, beautiful lights so close to everything overall I would recommend staying at this hotel if you don’t mind paying a lot for valet. There’s really not another feasible option for parking.

This property is very nice. The staff was excellent and the area around it offers a lot of shopping and dining options. the only drawback I found was parking. Street parking during the day is available for 3 hour blocks, but the hotel only offers Valet at $40 per day. While this is common for high end hotels, I didn't read up and see that on the hotel ahead of time. We found a lot about a 1/3 mile away which was a little inconvienent but workable.

Great hotel with friendly staff and location. It’s short walk to the VRE and Metro. Since it’s on King St, you have an abundance of shops and restaurants to pick from. Please note, there is a $28 resort fee that is charged in addition to the cost of the room which is charged to your credit card at check out

Self park not available. Area was congested making the process of dropping off car for valet difficult. Price $40 was high. Also did not get think the resort fee was appropriate. Only thing I used was free WiFi which is included on most other properties. I think that the charge was deceptive in that it was not included with the price quoted up front .

A very nice chic hotel in a laid back quiet neighbourhood. Everything you could need is very accessible by car (and by bus I'm sure). All around a very good experience.

Lovely property. Really pretty. Very clean. Nice staff. But, walla are paper thin. Couldn’t hear any street noise but heard every sound from rooms next door- every conversation word for word, every drawer opening, the tv, even the fridge opening. Maybe it was the connecting room we were given but it ruined our sleep listening to the neighbors.

The man who checked us in made us feel uncomfortable. He was treating us as if we didn’t belong at the hotel. The valet made up for the lack of customer service of the night time front desk attendant. The valet was very friendly and informative, I would give him 5/5 stars. The bed for us was a bit uncomfortable and stiff. When turning on the heat in our room, it made a loud constant rattling noise. I informed the morning front desk attendant and she waived some fees. She was very accommodating and understanding. Cleanliness I would give it 5/5. Would we stay here again, probably not. I hope this review helps.

Disappointed that coffee is no longer available in lobby. The units in the room are sub-par (paper cups dont fit, unit not cleaned or re-supplied). You cant have a thermos of coffee in the lobby for early risers? Really?
I had to request housekeeping because my shower leaked and flooded bathroom. Yes, they mopped it up and replaced towels. Did they resupply coffee maker, remove dirty coffee cups, or anything else? No.
Though the desk staff and valets were lovely, I wont return to a hotel that takes so little interest in my minimal comfort as a guest.

Very lovely hotel with a beautiful courtyard and very relaxing rooms. I wish there were more amenities in the room, it was quite sparse. It’s a walk to get to the waterfront but not too bad as there’s great shops and restaurants on the way. Very close to the train station. The staff was very lovely and kind. Slept very comfortably and only wish it was closer to the livelier section of Old Town.

Disappointed birthday celebration
I initially booked the crawl bathtub, celebrating a birthday. We were looking forward to the bathtub which is why we booked that one in particular. We arrived to check in at 3:02 and was told there were no rooms so they switched our room.
This was highly disappointing.

This property is fine. It was clean and comfortable but it wasn’t anything particularly special or impressive. With the exception of the valet person I met upon check in, the staff members were not exactly warm, fuzzy, or particularly accommodating.

The property is nice, and the location good, but there was no hot water for any days of our stay. And the phone in the room, which one is supposed to use to let the front desk to get the car out of the valet, or to ask for anything needed in the room does not work, even after asking at the desk that it be fixed. The staff was not very friendly or helpful.

It is close to a Metro station. It is within a block of an all night diner. I was not able to use the spa amenities, but I hope to next trip.

Very friendly staff - including valet and cleaning team; great location.
Didn't feel valet/bell-hop team were quick to offer help with luggage, but very friendly and courteous. Felt the amenities were weak - especially when charging $25 additional and including services like Press Reader, that require additional funds to purchase!

This property is incredible and the staff is top notch. The ONLY reason I didn’t give them a 5 is because we valet parked our car and had to leave very early in the morning. They didn’t let us know that we couldn’t have the valet bring our car when we left. We had to be walked to our car to retrieve it ourselves. They should inform you of the valet hours.

Would Stay Here Again!
Unfortunately for us this was one trip where we did not get the chance to enjoy the hotel much, so I don't have much to review. We weren't there long enough to order room service, use any of the amenities, or try the restaurant. So for the experience of checking in, leaving and returning a handful of times - it was nice. The courtyard is very charming, love the exterior, and over all aesthetic of the hotel. The lobby had a nice scent that seems to be wafted in through the HVAC but is not present in the rooms which we appreciated.
We opted for a corner king and even though it was a corner that faced the main street we did not have any noise distubances from inside or outside.
Not something I'd think I would end up putting in a review, but, the elevators are hands down the best elevators I've ever used. Quick and moves riders up and down with a motionless feeling. I had no idea if we have moved until the doors open and I saw the floors were different.
Again, not a catch-all review. Hope these items are able to help to others in some way!

I held my milestone celebration event at the Lorien. They treated me and my party like royalty. The venue, a rooftop terrace, was elegantly decorated. Toi, the hotel's event planner was amazing. Likewise, Scott the food service/catering manager personally connected with me several times during the event to ensure food was being served appropriately. All my guests raved about the food quality. Five stars for the hotel and the hotel's chef.

The location was great. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was selected from the restaurant menu, not just muffins and toast. Rooms and facilities were very clean and they're very pet friendly., although the pet fee was pretty steep.

It’s convenient. Right there in front of a sea of attractions, restaurants, and the waterfront. However, the customer service was very poor and the fees and service charges were ridiculously expensive for absolutely no good reason. My experience at the spa was awful. I enjoyed the steam room and that was it. I could have went to a inn or other hotel for a much cheaper price, paying for the same services, but for a better price!

This was a delightful experience. The staff were awesome and friendly. Room was clean, however HVac and filter was disgustingly filthy. I was very congested the night of my stay and realized when opening the HVac panel it had been grossly neglected

The hotel is in a very good area two blocks away from train, busses. There is a lot of restaurants and stores near by.
The only issue we had is that the day after we arrived no one clean our room. I went down to to ask and the person at the front desk told me that I didn't requested I shouldn't have to do that that should be automatic. Other than that everything else was good.

Excellent location as an alternative to DC.
Clean and large rooms. Good shower. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent location on King Street. Close to Amtrak, the Metro, and King Street trolley. Free coffee in the morning and free wine tasting in the evening. Many great restaurants nearby and the waterfront is a quick trolley ride or a 15 minute walk. Close to historic sites. Highly recommend.
