We had never stayed at this resort before, but were very pleased with all the amenities, especially the pool and the on-site restaurants and bars. Our view from our room was gorgeous and the service was excellent. We will be staying there again!

We loved our stay at Pelican Cove. It far exceeded our expectations. The floor in our room was a little sandy and the room could definitely use some updating, including a new, quieter AC unit. However, the beds were comfortable and our view was beautiful! We loved how we could walk over to Postcard Inn and use their hotel as well. We loved being right on the water and using the kyaks and paddleboards. My son loved the ping pong and cornhole. We will definitely be back!

Oh my, oh my! I had been wanting to return to this property for a long time. I stayed for mother's day in 2015 with my family and loved everything about this facility. Unfortunately the experience was a bit disappointing as the place is a bit run down. The AC unit in the room was set to 75 so the unit would stop running once it reached 75 in the middle of a summer night! Temps are reaching 105 degrees daily and we were not able to set the temp lower and for a good night rest. Also the water pressure in the shower was non-existent. It took forever for one person to shower and forget about washing/rinsing out your hair, it felt like a 2 hour shower just getting my hair wet.
The king sized bed was very comfy but the pillows? they were an absolute joke. There were 5 "baby" pillows on our bed, could not even see them in a King size mattress. We requested "regular/standard" sized pillows from room service but those never arrived.
The rinsing stations throughout the pool area did not work and unfortunately the huge floating inflatable trampoline was also no longer there.
I did enjoy the amenities offered (kayak, paddle board, pool seemed clean also) and it was very peaceful. We were looking to relax so this was definitely a plus. There are no restaurants on property but the sister hotel next door (walking distance) does have a Starbucks and a Tiki Bar (also very run down).
Hopefully management is addressing some of these concerns, I look forward to returning in the future.

Hotel is nice but it’s starting to need some TLC. We’ve stayed here in multiple occasions but it now feels like the staff is getting laid back on the maintenance. Two out of 3 Elevators were out of service (in case you can’t go up and down the stairs then this is not the place for you until it’s fixed).

Loved the property as the private beach and views are absolutely beautiful. I didn’t like the lack of amenities, the elevator was broken, the small restaurant by the pool opened late and had little to offer. They should have complimentary water and coffee in my opinion. The walk to postcard isn’t far but with little kids it’s also not that close. Views are amazing though so I would stay again.

The only working lights in our room were in the bathroom and a small nightstand lamp. The patio/balcony light didn't even have a switch; it had been covered with a flat wall plate. We reported that the lights did not work, and nothing was done to repair them. The pool towel caddy was empty three of our four days' stay.

This is an expensive sprawling complex with a no so central lobby for check in. Although the grounds and amenities are very good, it does not serve as good value.
The room had a terrific view but was small and dark.

The property was okay. It appeared to be in good condition and had a resort feel.
The room was clean, had a comfortable bed and had good air conditioning but noisy. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom.
The one meal we had at a bar was low quality even for bar food.
There was little interaction with the staff and all seemed attentive. At checkout, I asked the young man what were the ‘fee’ charges were. A woman at the desk interrupted by telling me I was made aware of ‘resort fees’ at the time of purchase. It was not an objection but a simple question.
Training people in the kitchen or the ones who have customer contact are equally important and are the ones who determine the success of a business.

We arrived to our room to find dirty floors, bathroom and patio. There were NO sheets on the bed. Only the fitted sheet and a comforter that was it. And I was told that they change the comforter after every guest leaves. Hard to believe. Easier to change a sheet than a comforter. IMO. We were told they do not use flat sheets anymore. only the fitted sheet and comforter.

The property is extremely dated and not maintained very well. The on-site bars and restaurants have terrible customer service, especially the tiki bar. The location for seeing wildlife and activities is actually very good, close to the sandbar, lots of manatees, lots of different fish. This resort puts more effort into harassing guests with security because your kayak strayed a little far rather than focusing on customer experience which is quite odd. The only resort in this collection of resorts that’s worth visiting is Amara Cay. Don’t bother with the others. Terribly managed and something needs to be done before these places go any further down the toilet.

Nice stay at Pelican cove, staff were great, room was great. The neighbouring sister property offers some of the bar and eating options which is fine, it would be nice if you could walk to it without going through the parking areas. More amenities are available at the group properties elsewhere on Islamorada but we didn’t pay them a visit.
Our only criticism was with where they allowed you to go on the available paddle boards and kayaks, it was too restrictive for us personally (but fine for beginners or a short leisure paddle).

I liked the location, views, and food. However, the property if runned down and not very well maintained. The rooms are dirty (I found two live roaches in my room 317), the ac is loud, noisy, and leaks. Plus the outdoor railings are missing some saftey bars so if you have small kids or pets that can very easily fall through.

We had planned a trip to the Keys for over a year and finally made it. Lots of medical issues kept us from getting there, so when we did, it was so special. Our room looked at nothing but water and trees (plus lots of boats out on the sandbar about a mile out from shore). The staff was so helpful and being able to kayak right off the property was amazing. We relaxed and soaked up the sun. Truly a very important weekend.

Was told the day before arrival that the lobby was closed. Was supposed to have gotten an Oceanfront Ocean View room and could not see anything because tall bushes were right up against the balcony. Got switched to a new room (cove view) and the phone was ringing solid as we walked in. Had to disconnect it from power and the wall phone jack. Except for Ankit the front desk agent, who was wonderful, the arrival experience was awful. Will not be back.

We really liked the property grounds. They did a nice job with the ambiance. They have a nice pool area with tiki bar we enjoyed. Water sports and other activity for kids on the property near the water. The room however was not up to par. Besides the ocean view balcony (favorite part), the room was small, humid and smelled like cigarettes. The AC cranked so loud that it was hard to hear the tv. Floor wasn’t very clean and some towels had makeup stains on them. Luckily we were not inside our room much. The location of the hotel is great with Starbucks right next door and plenty of restaurants nearby.

We enjoyed the ambiance at the Tiki Bar while we waited for our room to be ready. The view was lovely!
Overall the property was beautiful, and well maintained, even if you had to drag your luggage through powdery limestone gravel to get to and from the elevator to the room.
However, the king room we had was sparse, with no night stand on one side of the bed, and very little space to hang clothes, and a telephone that was inoperable.
Overall, the price was right and the accommodation was acceptable. We would go back!

We enjoyed our stay at Pelican Cove and would definitely come back. We enjoyed being able to get dinner both nights on the property as we had no wish to get back into the US1 traffic. Truly loved our private balcony facing the ocean. I wish there was somewhere to get a small snack or ice cream or tylenol on the property, like a small convenience store.

For $600/night, we expected a decent place to stay. At 4pm, only one room was ready, the lobby was closed so we had to check in next door, we called the front desk twice for help, once there was no answer and once they never showed up with the requested item. Don’t stay here.

The on site office has not been available since 2016, it's a tad inconvenient having to utilize the Postcard Inn lobby. The jet ski personnel currently use the Pelican Cove office. This was my 4th stay and primary complaint is the office issue.

Beautiful property, love that you could use bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and snorkelling equipment for free. Staff was very friendly. Only disappointment was room I clicked on was not the room I received. Due to error after 2 days when available they upgraded us to a beautiful room.

The view of the palm trees and ocean, sunrise and sunset, were simply fantastic. The “beach” was only about 50 to 60 feet long and slopes into the ocean from 0 to over 7 foot deep within a few feet of the waters edge. Dangerous to say the least. Parking was a problem. The door to our room didn’t seal, had gaps on all four sides. The light switch inside the door didn’t control anything, we had to ask them to sweep the floor, and the patio door didn’t lock. The room was much smaller than it appears in the pictures and we had to ask them to replace the table lamp that was broken and wouldn’t turn off. The phone was missing any information on how to use except the numbers on the buttons. Very expensive drinks and food on site.

This place is close to everything. They have a pool,pool bar and restaurant on site. White sand beach on the property. There is a dive shop next door for all your scuba diving needs. The rooms are in great condition and the staff is friendly. What more can you ask for!!??

Unfortunatley this property is managed by the Postcard Hotel a short walk away meaning everything is managed from there and this then becomes an after thought - its quiet which is a good thing if your after a couple of days peace and quiet on the Keys .......... room servicing isnt great and ahppened very late when we did get it done - had to request towels as we had none - these were just dunped at the door .......... overall its "grand" ......... location is stunning !

Was visiting our daughter in Islamorada for two nights and chose Pelican Cove mainly because of price but it turned out we loved the resort and will return. I could have removed a star for a leaky ac the first night but the maintenance staff was so attentive and caring, and quickly solved the problem. While the room is a little small it still accommodated the 3 of us nicely including a balcony. Bathroom and room was very clean. Theres plenty to do; paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing in the lagoon (2 boys were fishing and catching and releasing all day!), A pool with tiki bar, a small beach, and a water sport shop on the lagoon with jet ski tours. Ciao Hound Italian restaurant is easily walked to and has very good food. They give you bread for dipping in oil and balsamic vinegar. We had meatball and caprese appetizers as well as mahi and grouper punttanesca, all very good. The grounds are very tropical and relaxing. We will be back.

Wonderful stay in Islamorada!
I was pleasantly surprised at what a great place this was to stay with my kids. When we pulled up, my son let out a happy "are we staying here dad?" and that opinion did not change for our stay. The room was comfortable and included a balcony with ocean view (nice chairs), microwave, mini-fridge, coffee, etc. The grounds were clean and had pool, ping pong, kayaks, fishing, and of course the beach.
One of the coolest things at Pelican Cove an onsite fisherman named Patrick who helped kids and adults fish from the shore. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and a good time. Great asset to the place. All other staff were super helpful and pleasant as well.
Don't miss out on the "sister" hotels. We visited two of them and they have different feels, but similar amenities.
Price for our stay was really competitive. Not sure what it normally goes for. My only regret is that we stayed just one night. Will definitely return again.

Weekend in Paradise
Pelican Cove was amazing. The resort was clean and very peaceful. The room had a private balcony overlooking the beach. Despite being close to the highway, you couldn't hear any road noise from inside the room. The bed was very comfortable. The only negatives were that the resort is not well lit, making it hard to see at night, and there are no dining options for dinner on site. I would definitely go back!

We had a very pleasant and happy stay at the Pelican Cove Resort. We were very impressed with the resort amenities and the cleanliness of the rooms.
Special mention to our front desk guy Ankit. This guy was one the most nicest front desk person we have seen. He was very happy to explain us the check in process and also guided us through the whole resort facilities. We were very pleased by his hospitality and service! Kudos and all the stars to Ankit! We hope to visit again very soon.

Disappointed stay.
Disappointed this time. We have stayed in the past at Pelican Cove and also sister property Postcard Inn.
We made a reservation for two nights that needed to modify to one night stay only . At check inn time I told them the new change in plans. They told me to talk to Hotels.com since we book the room thru them and they will try to help after we notified Hotels.com.
So we talk to Hotels.com and they immediately started the process and kept us updated. Unfortunately no response from the Postcard inn/Pelican Point to help us with the early check out date.
Reason for early check out was for sickness of one of our daughters and needed to return home.
Also our reservation was for a king bed and they gave us two queen beds. Two bedside lamps were not working.

Island Gem!
We love staying here. It is one of our favorite places to stay in the Keys. It’s a beautiful property on the ocean with gorgeous views, clean and you have access to their sister properties on the island. Several restaurants on site so you never have to leave if you don’t want to!

Property tries to nickel and dime you. So many hidden fees. Couldn’t get reservation correct and tried to charge me over $800 extra for 3 days. Staff is incompetent and cannot provide clear answers for charges. Don’t stay here! Reset fee is charged 2x once when you check in and again at check out. Don’t expect to get the $100 hold they put on car back!

Elevator is still not working properly, fire department had to come rescue other guests that were trapped for awhile! Exterior property needs maintenance & updating, shower was missing tiles where you could see the inside of the wall and the bathroom had fresh black mold in many areas.
