Ceiling was crumbling. Smoke detector was ripped off wall hanging absolutely dirty, dirty furniture, not clean at all. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy to stay at this hotel. Gave this hotel brand a horrible name.

Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable
This modestly priced stay was all we needed. Yes, the facilities are dated, but the room was clean, and the desk manager was helpful. There was also an indoor pool that was available. The bed was a little firm for my taste, and the breakfast was simply cereal, waffle, or oatmeal. No hot foods like eggs, etc. Even so, I ate my fill of Frosted Flakes! No real complaints. We just needed a place to sleep and this did the trick. We would stay again.

Screens torn, windows damaged, water damage in hallways, mold smell, missing or damaged drywall, ourtside mattresses by dumpster and upkeep of outside was poor, missing awnings. People were polite and friendly, bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable.

It was a good place to stay for the one night we needed it. The carpet could use a vacuum cleaner, and there were some pieces of garbage laying around. Room was comfortable otherwise. Bed was good, we did not try their breakfast.

DO NOT STAY HERE. BED BUGS! We caught one and showed management. Management does not care. They will not refund you. I had to contact Expedia to even get somewhere with these people. Dirty. Run down. Disgusting. Rude management. Night clerk was polite when we checked in cause the first room we had you almost fell through the floor. So she immediately gave us a better room. Except the new room had B E D B U G S. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This property was $350 a night. The room carpet was very dirty, the walls where gouged with huge paint scrapes and there where water stains on the hallway wall. I took pictures because I couldn't believe it. The room is worth about $50 a night.

Run down, filthy, over flowing toilet…this place should not be on the Hotels.com app. The only good point was the lady at the front desk. She was as helpful as she could be under the circumstances.

Run dont walk.....
I do not usually give a review but I could not let this one slide. I was very disappointed with this hotel. First thing was walking into the Lobby, the odor of mold and mildew was awful! I should have turned and ran! Second, our room was not a King bed, it was 2 queens. Third, the ceiling was water marked and the walls dirty. Fourth, it had not been dusted, and lastly, the toilet seat was no attached on one side and had some kind of black mold looking stain on the under side of it. I should have complained or even left, but the other hotels in the area were all booked. We had already traveled almost 500 miles and were exhausted. I know better now, and we will never stay here again, nor will I recommend anyone else to stay here.

Even though I needed to take a bath after driving from NY, none of the rooms had a workable tub, except for the suite which cost me $100 more. If I had known this, I would have stayed elsewhere.

1st room had sock and a pad behind microwave, microwave was dirty. Moved to another room and the sink handle wasnt fastned down with a screw so it would fall off when you turned the water on, found another dirty sock by one off the beds.load exuast blower in the bathroom. 4 people staying in room and they only supplied one baby soap and a baby size shampoo big enough for one person. No cups by sink to use for brushing your teeth.

This property was terrible it ha roaches, bed bugs, filthy walls and bedding. There was nothing in there that was cleanly enough to touch the towels were even filthy. My grandson had a swim party for his 4rth BDay and the pool was filthy with a thick ring around it like a dirty bath tub...I was so disgusted with this this place it was horrifying. The only reason I didn't leave and get a refund was because I booked the room through EXPEDIA and the reservation had already started so they wouldn't refund any of my money. That being said I will never stay at the RAMADA of Decatur/Forsyth, Illinois and I would not recommend any one else to stay there either.

the pool tiles appeared dirty. The pool ladders were old and too short. As a senior I had difficulty getting out of the pool. The dining room was very nice. The expectation to not take food to the room when the room has a fridge and microwave was odd and the manager kept eyeballing us.

I found two bed bugs when preparing for the evening, reported this and left the hotel without staying the night. I told the clerk but did not receive a refund for my stay.
The first bed bug was found ~7:30pm going across my pillow. I then switched to the other bed and saw a bed bug crawling in the sheets. I squashed both bed bugs, took a photo and brought them to the desk clerk. I checked out ~7:45pm and went to a different hotel for the night since I didn't want to get bitten overnight or have bed bugs get into my luggage.
At least room #208 needs have a solid pest extermination

Nast and they did nothing about it
When I pulled into the parking lot it was boxes of something at the front door. And then I continue to check in and the employee was sitting back in some office/run like she didn't see me there. So I got her attention and she came a checked me in. I went to me room to look it over and the floor was dirty like it needed to be vacuum. And I didn't have any wash clothes in my room at all. So I went to the front desk to report it and the lady said you don't have any wash clothes I said no and the floor is nasty. She stated that she will get me some wash clothes and that's all she said. So I left out for a couple of hours and came back she had the washcloths at the front desk so she gave me two. I proceeded to my room and I got off the elevator and it smelled like Marijuana I immediately started coughing because it was hard for me to breathe due to I have asthma. I reported that nothing got done. Then I go in my room and their was a roach crawling around. And showed then the video and nothing was done. I won't be staying at this hotel every again.

The pool had a huge Ringer Around it I had to change room 3 times. The 1st room couldn't turn the TV on 2nd room couldn't open the door finally got into our 3rd room . Breakfast was OK biscuits were called gravy was cold waffle mix was not full I had to ask for help

Not a good stay had better
I would not say good stay or comfortable. A mess checking in. The hotel needs updated inside many places especially down 2nd floor hallway wallpaper held together with duct tape. No one wanted our room while there and we were not told that but noticed that. I would not stay there again.

Terrible hotel.
Horrible building. Wallpaper falling off walls, duck tape holding up some of the wall paper. A matress was in the hallwall. Pool was disgusting.

The hotel had a bad odor. Wallpaper falling off. Had duct tape holding wallpaper up. No water pressure for shower. Bathtub dirty. Asked for a crib when made reservations. Was told one would be there. Was told at desk they didn’t have one and not cots either. Overall not a pleasant experience.

Room wasn’t cleaned, old food in the microwave, stuff still on the floor, cup, sunflower seeds, something spilled on the chair and not cleaned up. When I complained, they did switch rooms. The next room wasn’t as bad, there was a paper towel in the microwave, carpet felt like there was stuff spilled on it and was a bit crusty.

Disappointing Stay
Pros: The bed was super comfortable and the room temperature was great.
Cons: Room smell was horrendous. As soon as you walk in the room it smelled so bad like pee. Continental breakfast was very limited and they do not let you leave the breakfast room with your food.
There are a lot of hotels in this area and growing up here I always thought highly of the Ramada but never stayed at one. We came back to visit family and was excited to have a reason to stay at this hotel. I was very disappointed. From the outside it is nice but once inside I felt it was very dated and run down. Our room was on the end, so we pulled down to the side door. The door was almost impossible to pull open. Once we walked into the room it reeked of pee. Yes we had our Dachshund with us and understand putting us in maybe a room they use for guests with dogs, but this was horrible. We were so tired that we just stayed as the bed did look clean and it was very comfortable. In the morning we went down for breakfast and was disappointed at the selection which was biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, juice, milk and coffee. There were signs stating no food to be taken out of breakfast room. So we had to leave our dog in our room to go eat. Wasn't to happy about that. I would not stay at this hotel again unfortunately.

The guy at the desk was very nice. The lights were all unplugged when we got to our room??? The microwave turntable plate was the wrong size for the unit. It didn't work. Other than this it was an OK place to stay. We will stay here if we are ever in the area again.

I was booked for a two night's stay. Checked out after the first night due to I kept feeling something bitting me. I told the Property Manager and even showed a pic. His response pest control comes out monthly. Didn't even offer to compensate the one night's stay just blunt and Rude.

The staff is friendly. The place has a smell as soon as you walk in the door. It look clean enough whatever get to my room and it stank. The carpet floor was sticky like a bar room floor couldn't take my socks off while I was there. Bathroom had boogers and poo and other things on the walls light switches filthy dirty it was gross. The curtains wouldn't close all the way which made it great to try to sleep with a light outside. Supposed to have been a non-smoking room great big burn holes in the carpet just keep going on and on I will never do it again

The property is in need of some serious maintenance.
The ice machine was broke they made ice in there fridge and put it in plastic trash bags I should have called the health dept., the lock on the door was broke, they did not have any cups in the room and no luggage rack. The TV of all things did not work and the play-off was on I WENT TO THE DESK THEY CHANGED THE BATTRIES BUT IT STILL DIDN'T WORK, ICALLED NO ONE CAME OT THE ROOM THE ENTIRE NIGHT. HORRIBLE STAY

Horrible musty smell, curtains had several rips in them and were off the curtain rod so couldn't close all the way, had to walk around and find someone to check me in, check in desk looked like a murder scene with all the yellow /black tape around the plastic shields which only left about an inch of space to make the transaction (totally unnecessary at this time). Will not stay there again.

Terrible experience. My room was extremely dirty, food mashed into the carpet, bathroom was extremely dirty, toilet not clean, looks like someone just left and nobody came in and cleaned the room. When I told the front desk, he became rude, very confrontational and hostile... Avoid at all cost!!!! I would rather sleep in my car! Not to mention the hallway smelled like a zoo and dogs that were in the hotel barked all night!!! Terrible Terrible Terrible do not come here!!!!!! You have been warned.

Pool and hot tub has been closed over a years but still shown on Expedia. No water glasses in room. Room carpet and furniture not very clean. In room sink had only a trickle of hot water. Stairwell door to outside not locking/fully closing which is a security issue. Bathtub drain stopper not working.

We booked a room last minute, staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are outdated and do need an upgrade. There was no coffee maker or working clock in our room, which was strange. The room was clean but did have an odd smell to it.
I wouldn't book a room here again, but it was last minute and they were very nice. We appreciated that.

The Ramada is an okay hotel for the money spent. The room could use a little updating and repair. Things like the bathroom door sticking, a weird spackle or particulate on the shower wall, the hot water not working in the sink were all things I could easily live with, but were bothersome. It is, what I would consider to be, a three star hotel. If you just need a place to lay your head, it's not the worst.

This was one of the most in clean hotels I have ever stayed in. The sheets had hair all over, the mini fridge had someone’s old leftovers from a prior stay, the shower had hair clogs hanging out of the drain. The room carpet and chairs had numerous cigarette holes. There was a car wreck outside In parking lot and the people there were very rough cussing and yelling. If I had the insurance which I will get from now on.. I would have left instantly but I couldn’t afford to take a loss on the room and pay for another place. Never ever would recommend anyone to go to this hotel. Our friends stayed In another room and had these same issues and had bed bugs in the first room and were lucky to get moved to a different floor entirety

A good stay!
As I was checking in a gentleman who was already staying here told me to "Reconsider checking in, this place is a sh**hole". I took my chances and stayed here anyway. Honestly, my room wasn't bad at all. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the pillows a little lumpy, the Wifi was fast, and most importantly the AC was functional. The only negatives about my stay was that the bathtub would not plug so I had to improvise to take a bath as well as the water pressure being low. Alos I had to wait about ten minutes for the staff to man the front desk when I wanted to check out which almost put me behind schedule. The building is showing its age but housekeeping and front desk staff can't rebuild it.

Didn’t like anything. The service was terrible, there was no breakfast like they said, the room they gave me wasn’t what I reserved, the room was dirty and in the middle of the night we had to switch rooms because it started raining and the rain started coming into the ceiling. They would not refund my money or offer me anything of any kind. The last room they gave us also had a few bugs in it as well and also was not clean. Would not recommend this location in Decatur Illinois at all.

Dirty place.Disrespectable.
Our room had not Been cleaned previous to our check in. Dirty towels hanging in bathroom. Used face mask hanging from light fixture by the bed. Used bar of soap on sink. All reported to the staff on sight with absolutely no resolution offered or discussed. Badgered at front Desk when asking for bedding for the pull out couch. (I paid for this room with the pull-out couch...) asked why we needed them, how many people do we have staying, etc. which was all declared when renting the room. 2 adults 3 small children.... continental breakfast was a joke. “Out of food” @ 7:30am. It only opened @ 6am and goes till 9am.

first off the lady at the front desk was very rude. She didn't even greet us when we came in. When we got our room key she didn't inform us that there was a wifi code on our key, she didn't give us any direction and we were looking lost while she watched.
On the way to the room, the whole place smelled like an old thrift store.
When we got in the room I checked the fridge it was a dead roach in one of the bottom drawers and some type of spilled liquid. The fridge was barely cold. took forever for my water to get a slight chill.
I saw SEVERAL roaches throughout the night. I was awakened at 7 in the morning by a big mama roach crawling on my arm!!!!!
the big issue was the roaches.😠🙅

There isn’t much I can say good about our stay. The room was still dirty, there was hair still in the tub and chip crumbs in the bathroom floor. The lamp shade was broken and there is missing trim within the room. The hot tub is out of use so unless you want to swim in cold water your not going to get wet here. Breakfast was at the bare minimum but the food was ok.

The first room they gave us, the heat did not work and there was just a tiny space heater. We spoke with the front desk and they switch us rooms.
the food was ok. not good selection and it was Wal-Mart brand. Not named brand food.
The pool was dirty and you could see the film line around pool and feel grit on bottom of pool.

I had reserved 3 rooms. The first couple to arrive was told they didn't have a reservation. That was resolved with a few texts and images of the reservation. I didnt get the handicap room I requested. Later, I realized the second couple to arrive received it. The edges of the carpets need vacuumed and all the drains were very slow to drain and the toilet nearly over flowed every tome it was flushed. There was a night clerk that wasn't pleasant and then there was the 3 am party under the front door canopy that had to be reported to the unpleasant clerk who seemed to be a part of the party gang. The hot tub didnt work. I used thus same motel last year and was extremely satisfied but something has changed. Not so pleased this time.

Our room on the second floor was directly over the indoor swimming pool and as a result our room felt very damp ( despite running the a/c the whole time ) during our stay. When we expressed this to the mgr.at check out he seemed to be aware of the issue.
