The hotel itself is pretty good for an older property and has all the amenities you need (bar, restaurant, beach bar, gift shop, comfortable beds. However, two issues that were slightly annoying. When we got in, at 3 in the morning after many flight delays, the system had been shut down and we had to wait 10 minutes for it to come back up for us to check in. Next, our room was not cleaned after our first night. So, no fresh towels and no coffee for the next day.

Very drafty. Water pressure and temperature in the shower horrible. Walls are paper thin.on the other hand the room was clean and fresh. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Very nice restaurant and bar in the front desk area. Overall i enjoyed my stay and might try another end of the resort to see if the negative can turn positive.

We arrived after dark so we couldn’t see all over and will walk to the beach tomorrow. However our first outdoor impressions are very positive and if the area to the beach isn’t we’ll add a comment. Our room is very clean and complete with needs. Our sliding door looks to the large pool area. Two sitting chairs are provided right by our patio door.

The room was very drafty. You could see daylight shining under the bottom of the door. It was hard to regulate the temperature of the room because of it.
The cleaning staff was efficient and very polite. The staff at the restuarant seemed to ignore us on 2 different occasions.

We were not aware the pool area was under construction when booked and the noise was loud all the way up to the 5th floor. Although we arrived before the 4pm check in time we were able to check in at 2pm as our room was ready. We paid for a pool view but the room was facing the side of a building and we had to lean out and look to the right to see the pool. We were able to relocate so that we would have clear view of the pool. When we went to the 2nd room the door was locked from the inside and maintenance had to get into the room, upon doing so the door frame broke. We are now after 3pm and a 3rd room. The front desk was amazing and made it right by giving us a room with an ocean view. As short as our stay was, it was nice and all is good with a great location, customer service, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms/amenities. I would rate it a 4 but they get a 5 because with all that went and could have gone wrong, they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of!
I would highly recommend the ocean view for the beauty but mostly because the very loud construction noise could not be heard over the peaceful sound of the waves.

Off season stay.
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. Going during the off season has it's challanges such a renovation going on, limited amenaties and the restuarant served me a raw burger. I wouldn't hesitate though to stay there again when things are in full swing.

The front desk gal, Jackie R, was extremely helpful & friendly when we arrived to check in at the hotel. The room was located by the pool and they had the pool/garden area decorated with lights and it was beautiful. If traveling thru here again, I would definitely stay again. The price was reasonable too.

After being stuck in the elevator on Christmas Day and no one answered when we called for help, thats when the trip went bad. My children are now terrified and wont ride on elevators. We were not taken seriously about the elevator gettung stuck, nothing was done about it.

Our NYE stay was wonderful! Such kind and helpful staff. We loved the heated pool and hot tub as well as the easy beach access! The fun flip flop tree along with other holiday decor was a treat, too. We will be back!

Not a good experience for me! Overall the location seems older than the pictures portray. Management has clearly put more financial investments into the main lobby and the amenities than the rooms themselves. I was in the back in the “beach house” area with an ocean front room. Nice concept but lots of obvious structural issues in the room and the layout is off! There is an outside light on the balcony that you can’t control that stays on shining in your face until late in the night. Had to check out 3 days early due to construction! VERY LOUD and DISRUPTIVE! Began at 9AM! There was a paper upon arrival to the room informing of this BUT was never mentioned on the website at the time or booking OR at the check in counter. With modernization there is potential given the location but for now I don’t recommend.

So much for our romantic get away
The resort was under Constuction which we were not warned about. When we checked in, we were hit with surprise charges (Parking and hotel fees). I have a video of a saw vibrating our room at 8:00 AM. When we told the desk clerk...she was very rude and basically told us it was our fault for coming during off season. We got vouchers for free buffet breakfast for remainder of our stay but they no longer offered buffet breakfast. We got trapped in the elevator. There are too many beach front properties to ever endure that again. We know a lot of people that travel to Destin. We will be sure to share our experience.

Just Ok!
My husband surprised me with a birthday getaway, which was so sweet of him, RIGHT? We had both been here when the Ramada Inn owned it and were eager to return for many reasons. I understand that you are growing and working through some construction pain points. I felt I would be remiss if I didn't highlight some areas of opportunity. During our stay, all the staff were amiable, including the GM, Gavin, and the day female bartender (she had initials) inside during the day shift day of departure (they all stood out to us just a little more. They were Very personable and resourceful). I also enjoyed the one day of live music on the pier. The areas I would like to highlight are the following: No Bottled Water is offered upon arrival or in the room, despite a Keurig (although I did like the refreshing water station in the main lobby). On the first day, my husband walked down to grab us a few cups and brought them back to the room, past the grotto cave.
The construction hours were very respectable, and the note was nice, but the inability to use both pools was esthetically unpleasant.
Our room shower base had a crack in its foundation that made it stand unevenly; the shower soap dispenser hanger was coming off the wall; with clumpy caulking, which made it look bad, & the bed/frame was not sturdy with the any movement there was loud noises and was uncomfortable.
We understand it was unseasonably cold, but the lack of heaters at the pier and entertainment/diverse music was sad.

Very Satisfied Guest
I brought my nana and 3 children to the Island Resort the rooms were not something to write home about, but their beach front and pool were glorious and enjoyable. The kids had fun, the staff was always super friendly especially Tatiana, cleaning staff was polite and timely, and there was no complaints, except the size of the room and the fact that the patio was not really a patio, very small spaces. I loved our stay and would definitely stay again, the staff were very accommodating and the property was beautiful.

The resort had a party vide the days we were there, but there were plenty of families there as well. We are kind of old, but people were having a blast. The food, bar, and location cannot be beat. The food at the restaurant was extremely good. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how good the food and drinks were.

I try staying here each time I come to Florida and I always have a wonderful experience from check in to check out. The staff are always accommodating. You literally have everything right at your fingertips when you stay here. My only complaint are the tiny bathrooms in some of the rooms booked. This trip I stayed in room 1150 and literally had to turn my body sideways in order to close the bathroom door. For reference I am 5 foot seven 157 pounds. Other than the tiny bathroom the experience was as if I was visiting the most high class resort. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

All the pools but 1 felt like ice water. No pool towels outside. Had extra charges on credit card saying services that I’m currently been on hold 30 min and still waiting for lady to come back and say why.. It’s not the resort fees or parking that’s completely overpriced because that listed separately.

Good location, bad condition
Everything was in bad condition. Rooms are tiny and ac units are very loud. Every sprinkler head was broken and l leaking all over. The gym is shared with Destin West and was horrible. All equipment was rusted and half were not working. Beds were comfy though.

We liked that everything and every activity was within easy walking range and short driving distances. But, the center of attention at this resort, the grotto, the water is freezing cold. Unable to swim in it. It was our honeymoon and we got the room where the patio opened up into the pool. Staff switched us rooms, but still, the grotto is the main attraction…needs to be heated so it could be used year round. One negative, it’s very pricey to stay here and the bars and food has been extremely costly!

Mixed review. We paid for a Pool View room but on the 3rd floor we hardly saw the pool it was the giant fake mountain in front of our balcony. Also the pool had running water until 10pm which kept us awake and TBH made you want to pee lol. Half of the pool was in shade and 10+ft so our son could not use. Food at hotel consisted of crappy junk Corn Dogs etc. Room was very nice although since the ice machine was parked close to our room outside the elevators, we were disturbed with the sound of other guests getting ice until the wee hours. Great location for beach and walking to Aquarium

I didnt like the fact that it wasn't explained to my husband and I about the resort fees of $30 a night at check in Oct 13,2023 It was told to us that we owed $149 when we checked out Oct 17, 2023. That was not okay. But in overall our stay waa good.

Friendly and helpful staff throughout the property. Shout out to Heather at the front desk for keeping a smile and a sunny disposition despite some challenges with guests!! Very clean. The halls had a nice fragrance which is hard at a beach resort.

Stayed for our honeymoon, loved the beach access and pool view! The room was clean, but did receive towels that were molded. Bathroom shower was very moldy as well. Overall a good stay, but definitely needs a few improvements here and there.

We were very disappointed with our stay, especially our room. It was very small and needed a lot of updating. Bathroom was so old and dirty and we even had a huge roach in our room. It was so noisy and our room location had so much traffic throughout the day and late night. One thing we did like is how close of a walk it was to the beach.

Pros and cons
Pros: The room was clean and nice. The staff are very nice and helpful. Access to the beach was easy and access to shopping and eating is easy.
Cons: You can hear every word spoken in adjoining room. And I wasn’t aware it was pet friendly and heard their dog bark often.

Great location. Excellent beach with 5 restaurants within walking distance. The pools were a lot of fun and plenty big enough. The beach house has terrific views. We enjoyed ourselves and will return next year. The only blemish was one elevator kept breaking down but I’m sure they will have it fixed.

Beautiful area to stay! Overall worth the price, however the breakfast buffet was terrible and overpriced… we wanted to get a bacon and egg biscuit at the island bar but they were closed due to lack of help on our first morning. The last 2 mornings we were happy to have the breakfast biscuit 😉
Still the first night entertainment was wonderful, beautiful beach comfortable room and friendly staff.

This property is well located on the beach, however we booked this on expedia and were charged a ridiculous additional amount each day, which we weren't told about on expedia. I wouldn't have stayed hwre if I had known. Its basically just a hotel room. We prefer to stay in condo's so we can. Cook some ourselves. It makes your vacation much more affordable. I don't think I'll book through this app again. I prefer to know all the costs up front.

The hotel is very nice, the location is perfect as we'll because most places are walkable distance. However, the only issue I had was that I was charged extra at the hotel and this wasn't disclosed when I was booking through Expedia. I paid extra $150 and I stayed there for 3 nights.

I could not stay here due to very deceitful pictures of the rooms as well as the entire facility. The initial room assigned, the lining had to be changed 3 times and the smell of dogs were very potent in the room as well as the elevator, etc.

The rooms are terrible. The other amenities such as the pool, beach access and so on are above average though. You see this in apartment complexs where they don't want to refurbish the rooms, so they invest in the amenities. I rate the hotel a 2/5.

The beach and sand was beautiful, everything else was not as advertised. People at the desk not friendly, not enough parking, and there are not elevators. This property should not be more than 3 stars. It is okay, but too expensive for what they offered.

Teenagers (who were not guests) jumping off top of the Grotto (safety issues). Adults standing around drinking in the shallow end of the pool, leaving limited space for children. People who were only day visitors using up parking spaces and pool facilities.

Beautiful Resort with the best views from the “Beach House” Cabans beside the pool with a swim up bar and beautiful calming landscaping.
More than I anticipated to spend- especially the high charge for parking when it’s almost impossible to find a parking spot.
I walked next door to the Boardwalk one night because I didn’t want to lose my parking space that I was finally able to find.
For some reason, housekeeping would not service my room and I saw the lady in the hallway when I left out that morning and I had purposely messed up my bed sheets to let her know they needed changed.
When I returned to the room, I discovered the bed neatly made but when I got in the bed, I realized that she put the same sheets on the bed - there was still sand in the bed so I called the front desk and they sent a gentleman up and he put clean sheets on. They also didn’t restock sugar for coffee.
Delicious food at their restaurant and nightly entertainment.
One of the most memorable event was the firework show on Sunday night from the pier, as I was right there beside it with one of the best views on the 5th floor

The property was pretty good but really starting to show some neglect. The pool is flaking, holes in the bottom of the pool. the showers in the room was built poorly with the single door and water hits the opposite wall (outside of the shower pan) and is creating damage to the drywall. Looks like no attempt to fix…which is going to create mold. The hot tub had so much chlorine in it you couldn’t sit but 5 mins and your skin started burning (suggestion is to use copper not chlorine) The property was very clean…just needs some renovations. Overall we had a wonderful vacation.

Everything great. But on beach should have small area to walk through chairs and umbrellas. Not everyone rents these. We had to keep bothering people to walk in between umbrellas.
