Mold in AC unit
We had a plug in ac unit that would not turn off. The room was frigid- 58 degrees. The smell of mold was overpowering- so much so that we could not even stay in the room for more than 10 minutes. We unplugged the unit andchecked out a day early. Staff told us that this was a common complaint.

The hotel was renovating and I was not notified until after my cancellation date! Also the renovation crew blocked the exit to the handicap parking spaces and also about four accessible spaces creating an issue with my niece’s mobility! The equipment was left outside our window during my entire stay creating EHS! The staff was nice but I think these issues should be addressed for future clients! I took photos and will forward if necessary! I did bring all of my concerns to the staff!

This is our second time staying at this location. We stayed back in 2021 when our daughter started at Clemson and it was fine. We chose this hotel again for our son’s move in sincevit’s cheaper than staying near the campus and it’s close to the stores.
The staff was very friendly so no complaints there. Our main complaints this visit were with the condition of the hotel. We had no hot water one morning which we found out was affecting the whole hotel. The next morning there was work being done ( scraping on the floor or walls and tapping sounds) in the room above us beginning at 8am. Not the most comfortable stay:(

Great stay
Stayed for one night and it was great! Staff was very friendly and personable. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet. We paid the extra for breakfast which was delicious and fresh … very worth it. Only recommendation was a place to fill water bottles in the fitness center or lobby and the coffee could have been hotter and more fresh.

“A Necessary Evil”
If you want to fall asleep in an active construction zone, then boy have I got a place for you. Planned to sleep in a bit, but this hotel has other plans for me. Called to see if anything could be done about the construction that started up at 8 AM and the hotel staff was of no help; dismissive and condescending, even. Was told the construction was “a necessary evil,” so by their own admission, this hotel is evil and has no problem with what they are subjecting their guests to. I wonder what else they’re okay with putting people through…bedbugs? It wouldn’t surprise me and I wouldn’t put it past them. Oh well, at least they were charging $12 for breakfast. If you enjoy wasting money and having a bad time, then definitely consider checking this place out.

We did not get a king room as booked. They sent us to two different rooms, both were doubles, then told us Expedia sold us a room the hotel did not have any more available. Twice the room keys they gave us did not work, so back down to the front desk (4 trips total). The front desk agent had to use her master to unlock our room. The sink drained poorly, the bed linens were ripped. Overall the WORST hotel experience I have had in years! And the hotel charged us $50 more than the quoted Expedia price.

Ignore the "no need to call" from Hotel.com
Did not know hotel was under renovation. Would have liked to. So maybe I should have called the hotel myself to confirm what all would be going on for my stay. We were moved far enough away from the noise but the ground level only has one thick curtain but not the sheer one under it so there was a ground-level issue with not being able to close it to my comfortability level with cars parked right outside of it. The hotel was good overall. The people working the desk were very professional and very nice.

The young black lady working the desk for checkout was very rude to my pregnant daughter. She had my grandson 2 yrs old and literally brought her there due to weather to be comfortable and rest well due to having contractions and trying to get a 2 year old baby and herself out the room again in early labor she asked the young lady for a late checkout fir 12 and the rude lady said no you need to be out by 11. Thats why she called and asked! I have gotten late checkouts at every hotel just about even this facility with no problem. Then when I called to speak to a .anager she placed me on hold never coming back to the phone. I have NEVER had one problem here before but this is outrageous and unexceptional especially as often as I stay and put people uo there for business.

Decent hotel, but cleanliness could be improved.
The hospitality of the front desk was excellent.
The room was decent, but used cleaning rags were left by the housekeeper and a couple of dead bugs were seen in the bathroom.
The paid breakfast was equal in quality as complimentary breakfast at other hotels. However, the cleanliness was horrible. The attendant was present and available but did not attempt to keep dining area clean. Tables were not cleaned, including the one I was sitting at. Dirty dishes were left on different tables from previous patrons.
Overall, a 3.2 out of 5.

Anytime I find clothing lift by someone before me especially socks I question the cleanliness of the room. Unfortunately I did not find it until I was searching to make sure everything that I owned was being taken by me

Property is just ok. Very short staffed. Did not receive maid service during our stay. Ran out of toilet paper and had to go ask for it at the desk. Never got towels. Had to go looking for them every time I needed new towels. At the price I paid per night I should not have had to go ask for simple basic items.

Sunday morning at 11:58am, I spoke to the receptionist and told her that the refrigerator in my room was not cold but warm. She said it would be swapped out or repaired. Upon my return in the afternoon, I checked in with the front desk to see if my request was resolved and the male receptionist who replaced the first said, yes, the fridge was fixed. Needless to say, the fridge was not swapped out or fixed hence the mediocre review! In addition, there was a lizard on the ac unit. Luckily, I contacted the receptionist and he came to my room quickly to remove it.

The place was clean but understaffed. You had to have bartender get ice for you and candy bars were 2.50 each so bring your own. The pool was covered and not able to be used. The room was quite so all in all it was ok to stay but way overpriced

We actually moved to this hotel while we were staying in the area because our original booked hotel was dirty and rundown. This hotel is modern, clean and safe and worth the difference in price!

Inflated rates
I had to pay almost 1000 to stay here for 3 days because the price of the stay was doubled because there was a Clemson game that weekend. My room did not have a microwave even though it was clearly stated that there was a microwave in the room. This stay was definitely not worth the cost.

I did not like the fact that I was unable to check in on my first night at hotel at, I believe to be, well past 10:30pm on Wednesday the 27th. Specifically, I should have waited to check in after 12am (only 1.5 more hours) on Thurs the 28th. Meaning, I should have only booked the hotel room for 1 night due to this massive blunder. With the ongoing crisis of economic inflation to the likes not seen since the 1930's, I really could have used or saved $176.00. Please note your staff was professional and as accommodating to a valued customer as your organization's protocol would allow. That being said I feel Holiday Inn and Expedia should discuss the events endured by the staff and I on Wednesday in order to provide a faster and more quality resolution in the future. I wouldn't mind a voucher for 2 free nights here at this Holiday Inn in order to fully experience this quaint hotel. I will be a small business owner about 3/4 of a mile away, and need to be thinking of which hotel I need to allow my customers to reside. Thank you, Derek .

Fine hotel but some service disappointment
Overall a nice hotel but a few disappointments: The hallways and rooms were very clean but men’s bathroom off the lobby needed considerable attendance. The breakfast was bumpy with an awkward and inconsistently enforced meal voucher system and conflicting info on closing times. (Per check in and key card, Breakfast was supposed to go through 9:30am but was being put away before 8:50am and shut down by 9am)

It's Been a While . . . . Glad to be Back!!!
This was an AWESOME stay. I haven't stayed here in a while. I got the same service I'd come to expect from this hotel. It's still clean. The beds are still comfortable. Check-in and out were a breeze. The hot breakfast buffet was fantastic and worth the price. I'd definitely stay here again.

I didn’t like that the cleaning staff went into my room with the do not disturb sign on the door and they also stripped my beds took all the towels and face cloths and they also left my room unsecured all my valuables could have been stolen but they wasn’t based on all that I will never recommend or stay at that hotel again

When checking in the receptionist gave us an unfinished room, no sheets on the beads and bath still dirty. We went back to the receptionist and I told her about it, she just gave us another room without apology and told us “hopefully this one is ready.
We get in to the room and all the appliances were unplugged from the electric outlets like tv, mini fridge, clock. The room just had 1 lamp between the beds that supposed to be queen beds but end up being full size beds.
The next day when we have day light we saw how dusty the lamp on the night stand and tv too.
Is an old hotel not crazy ugly but if it was clean I wouldn’t mind but don’t think we will be back to this hotel.

Staff was super nice. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed having it cook to order. Bed was a little tough for me. Room was clean. Hotel was clean. Restaurant next door was affordable and food was good. Great location for what we needed to be close to. Solid property and I will stay here if I come back to Anderson.

Unbelievably nice staff, with a special shoutout to Tracy at the front desk and the kitchen staff. Might have been the best hotel breakfast I've had in a long time! Eggs cooked perfectly, grits, biscuit and gravy, bacon and sausage! Delicious!!

Too Rundown for the Cost
Hotel was pretty run down and definitely needs some updates. Definitely not worth the nightly rate, especially with no breakfast offered. The pool also closed at 7:00PM. We were told it was because of short staffing, but not sure why since it isn't manned by an employee or have a lifeguard. My son plays travel ball and the team picks hotels specifically with a pool so the boys can cool off and relax after games. This was not an option as the pool was closed or getting ready to close by the time we got back to the hotel each evening. Pretty disappointing after spending 10+ hours in 85 degree heat. Also, the 2nd shift desk worker stayed outside on her phone the majority of the time. If you needed something, you would have to go outside to look for her. The room was clean, I will give the place that much, so at least the cleaning staff does a good job.

The staff was excellent, front desk was welcoming, very nice and helpful with restaurant options. The lady in charge of breakfast Saturday morning was awesome! She had no help, lots of guests and not many food options due to Covid and lack of staff - she worked with a smile and some humor and too care of everyone.
Was disappointed there were no dinner options or bar options due to lack of employees.

Not a good experience
The weekend was Clemson University (20 miles away)
Parents weekend and a home football game. The management knew this because the rates were over 100% of other weekends. Check in took 15 minutes bcs the clerk was somewhere else. The bathroom had a dirty used washcloth left from last guest and pubic hair in the shower. The room was not cleaned on my first night and there was no notice from staff that it would not be. So had go go back to the desk to get fresh towels and coffee pods.
This was the busiest weekend in the area and no room cleaning, this leftover food and dirty towels lined the halls. Will not be using that hotel again

Amazing visit!
Our stay at Holiday Inn Anderson was amazing. All staff were so helpful and personable. John helped us at check-in and was so pleasant to talk with. A sweet young lady with beautiful eyelashes (I apologize but I don't recall her name) was so helpful, as well. Someone had spilled food in the elevator and she immediately went to clean it up when it was brought to her attention. Dawn made check-out a breeze. The room was clean and extremely comfortable. It is so evident that staff go above and beyond to provide visitors with an exceptional experience. It was also impressive to see lots of cleaning taking place, which should happen everywhere, but usually not observed. Will definitely stay again!

Great room
The hotel was in a great location. The service was good and the room was large. We enjoyed the happy hour to relax without driving anywhere. We were disappointed in the limited breakfast hours as we usually don't eat as soon as we get up. If I'd known of that I wouldn't have signed up for breakfast included. Overall a very nice place.
